  • Game Console

There is Playstation 1 through 3.  There is Wii.  There is Xbox360.  There is Atari for the older people.

With Christmas rapidly approaching, this issue is brought front and center.

Which game console is the best ever?

  • WHICH game console.

Get off the fucking tube, asshole.

  • I liked the SNES.

  • Nintendo.

  • WII IS NOT A CONSOLE, IT IS A TOY!

  • I don’t really know, actually. My dad bought a Wii during Black Friday, and it’s the first and only game console my family has ever had.

  • Anyway, I’d say a tie between Sega Genesis and SNES, that was pretty much the best era of videogames.

  • i am an  owner of 4 consoles- wii, xbox 360, ps2 and nintendo… as a party of for atleast 2 people – wii is the best.. for individual games (most esp for my racing and mlb games) the xbox 360 is amazing!!!

  • Dan, your page is the source from which all drama starts -__-

  • SNES started the revolution.

  • Well it depends if your talking about in this generation I love the Playstation 3 but back as a child I loved Nintendo then came Playstation 1 for me.

But honestly no system is the  “best” these days they all have their pros and cons.

  • the original NES.  the end.

  • the iPhone

  • Super Nintendo, clearly. I could play Super Mario Brothers alllll freaking day. I owned that game.

  • Wii, by far. You can access most of Nintendo’s best historic moments and most innovative concepts all in one place.

  • i’m still with wii.

  • Oh, you just want those fanboys/girls to come attacking. Get ready for a fight!

  • pfft. the world!

  • btw NINTENDO OWNS ALL<3

  • I have, and absolutely love, the PS2.

I would like a Wii though. There are so many fun games out for it, including that animal crossing thing and the exercise stuff.

  • I’m going to have to go with NES. Mario consumes my soul.

  • @Zeke777G - You make no sense.

  • The Wii has not been giving good games at all, it’s output is quite dry, really.  I’m not a fan of older game consoles, either, although I do enjoy Super Punch Out!, the original Super Mario Bros. has no effect on me whatsoever.  I own the Wii, the Xbox 360, and the PS3, and if I were to choose just one, I’d probably choose the Xbox 360.  The PS3 has a fair share of good games, but I’d say the Xbox 360 is the better choice for the long run.  :S  I’d choose the Wii, but with games like Pajama Sam and something about a goldfish, I wonder when the Wii will start coming out with some serious games…

  • In its own time?  Eesh, that’s hard to say.  If you mean by popularity, I’d have to say one of the older ones.

But I really liked the PS1.  The graphics wowed everyone, and there were so many good games out for it. Though the Nintendo 64 was pretty decent with its selection and performance at the time too.

  • I’ve played PS2 more than anything, though I do have very fond memories of Sega Genesis and SNES.  I cannot comprehend Xbox controllers, while Xbox360 is better, still…it isn’t my favorite.  My heart will probably remain with PS2 for quite some time.

  • The Wii is the most fun, if you ask me… but I think a 360 is a household essential.

  • Old school Super nintendo entertainment system<3

Also seems like alot of girls play games on here

    why cant I find a gamerchick :3

  • Sega Dreamcast.  R.I.P.

  • You forget to mention Gamecube.  Which is the best?  Not Xbox!

  • I like how you have the worlds oldest picture of the Playstation 3 up there. That picture there was just a concept design. Ummm… I’m getting too nerdy here, I’ll just stop now.

  • I love all game consoles, who am I to say?

  • Probably the Wii. Maybe PS3.

  • SNES is the best everr

  • maybe instead, we should focus of the greatest game of all: life. isn’t it about time we looked less at which game counsel is the best and instead looked about how that money could be spent to help others? i think this question is too materialistic and serves only to fuel our gluttonous consumption of nonrenewable resources.

  • XBOX360 hands down

  • WII because we all go WHEEEEEE!!

  • We own PS2, XBox, Gamecube, 2 PSP’s, one DS Lite. My kids now want a PS3 (for my youngest son),  XBox 360 (for my oldest son), a PSP (for my daughter). This video game shit is getting too fucking expensive! We do NOT have enough money for Christmas and it SUCKS! I miss the days when they played with toy cars, Bionicles, Barbies, and Bratz.

  • Only Wii has been successful in approaching people of all ages, gender, occupation etc.
You can see kids from 3 years old to retired couples playing Wii all day long.

  • EVER?  Original NES.

  • @niez_cho - true, Wii seems to have cross generational appeal, its something very new, perhaps it will be the best, though I’ve not  bothered to buy one yet.

  • @DrugInducedDuck - I’m going to have to second that.

    xo

  • @DrugInducedDuck - I’m going to have to second that.

    xo

  • Gawd Damnit, the PS3 is the most kickass systen out there. My friends may have Xbox 360′s but they break all the time. I love my PS3 I kick ass on most of the games i own. Dan your site does cause controversy, but so did DX back in the day. You know what DX used to say to people who thought they were to controversial? S**K it!

  • Playstation II or III because of singstar!

  • Im old school with my S-NES, but if I were to buy a console right now, probably a wii bc its a lot more interactive and does well socially for most. I dont think I could get my whole family to join in on any other console.

  • PSP is a handheld, does it count?

    If not, 360 ftw.

  • The best ever? I dunno. I only know games you play on the internet

  • no love for Colecovision?

  • Atari still rules the game world as Supreme Ruler of All That Is and All That Shall Ever Be! Were it not for the nice folks at Atari, you probably wouldn’t be playing your Wii little XBox now would yii?

  • My wife’s chest.

  • I personally love my little purple lunch box (of course, it’s not anywhere near purple, it’s covered in zombies and Leon S. Kennedy)… It’s resilient, has a lot of potential over the PS 2, and is just dang fun. Especially with the gory games XD Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness, and Prince of Persia. Though…

PS 2 has all the old good games.

Now, I want a 360. PS3 isn’t much better anyway. It has Silent Hill and a TON of other games…

Guh. Way to go bringing out the inner geek in me.

  • @relaxolgy - A chessboard is more limiting and less culturally relevant than an Nintendo or Playstation. With the exception of Fischer-mania in the early 70′s, Chess has not mattered in the U.S.

  • @entendezmavoix - maybe instead, we should focus of the greatest game of all: life. isn’t it about time we looked less at which game counsel is the best and instead looked about how that money could be spent to help others? i think this question is too materialistic and serves only to fuel our gluttonous consumption of nonrenewable resources.

Can’t get any more cliched than this.

  • PS3… this thing isnt even a console, its a monster of a computer for what it can do.

  • @huginn - Now thanks to your dedication, everyone knows. I sure was BIRDBRAINED there! I’m sorry I’ve run a FOWL of you. Maybe I’ll go watch some HEN-tai while I go soft DOWN my COCK until I’m at BEAK performance then I’ll write about it on TWITTER. How does that sound pOWL?

    OH HOHOHO

  • Original Xbox, followed closely by SNES

  • YOU FUCK BIRDS.

  • man, hard question. I like XBox and PS. So uh. I don’t know. And I’m also a throwback because I played Coleco, Atari, Nintendo and Genesis.

  • We only have a PS2 but I do also like Nintendo stuff….

I know nothing about video games though. So to me, it doesn’t really matter. (“It doesn’t really matter!” she says. “But this is so important!” I can see the gamers now….)

  • Commodore 64 or the commodore Amiga. either of those can be the best.

  • They all have their strengths and flaws.
I own a playstation 2 and 3, a game cube, nintendo 64, and my bf has an Xbox 360. I’d say out of them I like the Xbox 360 the best.

  • christmas sucks….

and the xbox 360 is the best. I just played half life 2 on the orange box for about 8 hours

  • I’m partial to the Xbox.

  • Oh man, I’ve gotta say Nintendo.  My siblings and I used to sit around all day during the weekends and try to beat Super Mario 3…it was da bomb diggity!

  • I’m not a big fan of games…

  • I don’t give a rat’s ass about game consoles or video games. I don’t own any, nor plan to.
I also don’t own, nor have ever owned an mp3 player or an ipod, nor am I interested either.
It’s all a big racket. “Oh, you MUST have this new format.”  Or, “Oh, Guitar Hero 7 has one more feature that the others did not have!”   PUH-LEASE!!

  • I love the Wii.  Especially because I can download so many of the old NES/SNES games to it.  I love Mario.  :)

  • You missed the original Nintendo/SNES systems, the N64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis, original XBOX….

    I
think I have to agree with what a lot of people have said: the Wii,
because you can basically play all Nintendo’s its games from previous
    systems.
I was raised on Nintendo. :) Duck hunt, Mario, Zelda, and Tetris ftw.

  • so how is the fight against time stamping going dan?

  • I like the Wii a lot, but the NES is so classic.  Decisions, decisions…

  • GAMEBOY FUCKERS!

  • I really don’t know.  I haven’t used one since PS1.  For nostalgia I’d go with Atari.  But if I was going to buy something I’d buy a Wii.

  • Can’t choose btwn the Wii and the DS lite…but my new fave piece of techno-heaven is my iPod touch second gen. 32gb :p (yes i’m typing from it right now, under my blankets LOL

  • We still have Pong and Coleco Vision from the olden days.

  • The PS3 is by far the best I’ve ever played,  and I’ve played almost all of them.

I still have two of the orinal “big, and bulky” PS1′s,  which are very very rare,  a PS2,  and my brother has had a Sega, Sega Genisis,  and a Nintendo.

  • SNES, bitches.

    But I love my PS3.

  • There were 2 different Ataris in my life time.  I loved Atari!  I loved Super Nintendo too.  I’d say that was my favorite.  I’m not really that big on the newer ones.  My son is getting the XBox 360 to replace his old Xbox for Christmas…so I’ll let you know if my mind changes.

  • Excuse me, did you just refer to me as “older people”?!

  • I’ve never owned any game console, unless a PC counts, in which I mostly played Roller Coaster and Zoo Tycoon.

My brother had an Xbox that was pretty fun though.

  • Video games are not my thing – so I have no clue!!

  • I have spider solitaire…

Joking. But I’m still a die-hard PS2 fan. Not saying it’s any better or worse than anything else out there.

  • No matter what anyone says, I still love my GameCube best.

  • Currently the 360.  But of all time, it’s the SNES.  And you need to update that picture, the controller is different.

  • @Zeke777G - Tossing and turning in your own puke is neither smart nor clever.

  • I’m not a gamer but when I do play it’s on my PC. I have a DS but do not really use it. But talking to my friends who are big gamers I would say the men like the X-Box and the women prefer the Wii.

  • We have Wii and we’re getting a PS3..

    Soo excited..

  • Oh we have Gamecube too! That was our first.. ^_^ Love it..

  • Honestly, I think each console has its pros and cons. Out of the ones I owned, I’ll say the PS2.

  • i have all the game consoles and i must admit the 360 is the best even tho i was very anti microsoft in the beginning.  da best!!

  • Well, it’s not one of the choices, but SNES.  The PSX would be runner-up.

  • Atari is classic, but SNES was amazing, and I still think it was the best system of them all.

  • The PS1 was the best.

    Followed by the 8-bit NES.

  • Dreamcast, or PS3

  • i totally love my super nintendo and my sega genesis.

  • The Nintendo 64 is easily the greatest console of all time.  It was the first to introduce true 3-D gameplay.  Also unlike the Playstation you didn’t have to wait like an entire minute for the game to load.  Also don’t forget the innovative controller.  Now for the games:  Goldeneye is still ranked as one of if not the best multiplayer game of all time.

  • @huginn - sorry, next time i guess i’ll have to try to be a little bit more creative in my desire to see a world less consumed by greed. but, who gives a shit, right? as long as those people at Wal-Mart got their fucking good deals, who cares that a worker had to die? cheap materialistic shit is totally worth a mans life.

    @Zeke777G -

  • Oh and the graphics of N64 is also far greater than PSX.  X-Box shouldn’t even count since it came out too recently and after the other two (Nintendo and Sony) transformed and established the market.  Get X-Box for the Halo series only, otherwise now-a-days it’s a toss up.  PS3 has better game selection and Blu-ray capabilities.  Wii has more unique gameplay and games.  And finally the best gaming experience ever:  PC!  With the Half-Life series, Starcraft, simulators (Tycoon, the Sims), countless RPG, and WoW there is nothing better than PC gaming.

  • My best regards to Sega, but they fucked up with Sega Saturn.

  • SNES was a revolution, but the NES was a big foundation.

  • @entendezmavoix - non sequitor

  • @huginn - only if you weren’t paying attention. if you were, you would have cited the correct logical fallacy.

  • snes is my favorite. I don’t think there’s a “best” though.

  • The Sega Genesis. For the current generation, its tied perfectly between the PS3 and 360.

  • NES for the win.

    seriously.

what’s this crap about wii’s and PS3′s???? rubbish. you gotta go old school. And not as old school as atari, for reasons that go without saying.

  • the orig NINTENDO

  • @entendezmavoix - Bullshit.

  • im partial to the XBOX 360, but the wii is a good one too.

  • Not a big fan of the nintendo empire. Its boring and repetitive.  PS2 all the way. and 3. Wide variety of games, good reliable console.

  • I love NES but PS2 is awesome!

  • @huginn - ooh, looks like i struck a nerve. and, no, it isn’t bullshit.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_fallacies

    educate yourself.

  • nintendo .. NES , 64 n’ the GameCube !

  • @entendezmavoix - For someone who offered such an incoherent rant in her opening comment, it’s a funny that you’re hammering on logic now.

  • @huginn - I know several Dadaist artists who would beg to differ!

  • @entendezmavoix - You’re meaner than me :(

  • we have wii, xbox360, gamecube, super nintendo, and ps2.

i like wii best… interacting with the game is much more exciting to me than sitting there for hours.
ps2 was a close second. only because that’s what we played guitar hero on. =]

  • @AilinCorazon - Leah would be meaner still if she pulled out a revolver, point it to her temple, and pull the trigger.

Alas, she’ll probably only be sticking to a slow intellectual suicide.

  • @DrugInducedDuck - Sega Genesis was my favorite console as well. And at the same time, I owned a SNES, and it really was sort of a tie. But I always was a sucker for Sonic and Miles/Tails, way cooler than Mario and Luigi. And how can you beat Ecco? And the Sega Satellite?

  • colecovision

  • I always thought that the N64 was pretty good.

  • I currently have a PS2, which I have really enjoyed playing God of War 1 and 2; however, nothing compares to my Sega Genesis. I still remeber when I got it and began playing Sonic the Hedgehog.. my life was simply never the same.. ha ha.

  • Definitely Atari. The others don’t even compare :)

  • Ahahaha, oh geez. My boyfriend and I had an argument over which console was better… playstation or xbox ?? I still prefer the playstation consoles over any kind of xbox (it’s just what I grew up with), but I do enjoy the Wii from time to time. :)

  • Obviously the 360. It has the biggest power house games ever made. How can you pass on halo 3?

  • NINTENDO GAMECUBE FTW

  • SEGA GENESIS XD

  • @huginn - i can’t believe you actually said that. overcompensating for something? or maybe you’re just attacking me because you know that you have no idea what the hell i’m talking about you just know that it’s beyond your comprehension. you still haven’t identified my logical fallacy. maybe you can’t. maybe you just don’t have the mental capacity to.

  • @Simbathe2nd - And that, my friend, is why you are a genius. HALO 3, Fallout 3 (I know, it’s available on all consoles, but the 360 is the only one coming out with downloadable content for Fallout 3), Dirt, Grid, etc. The PS3 may have the power and graphics ability, but it isn’t being used or realized. PS3 has yet to come out with the must have/killer game (like HALO on the original X-box, which doubled it’s sales in less than a year).

  • @bosefius - I completely agree. PS3 doesn’t have anything woth buying the system for. Maybe blue ray but that’s it.

  • I’ll take a new nVidia 9-series based Linux/Mac/Vista Triple Boot PC any day.

Wii: too childish still, basically a gimmick with sticks.
    PS3: $$$
Xbox: Vendetta against it for controller and simplicity reasons.

    PC.

    FTW.

  • @huginn - What’s buggin huginn?!

  • What about Sega?? lol

No, I think the Wii is completely awesome honestly.  It is the only game system I have really liked…ever.  As a child I did not care for video games and when my husband got a wii I grew to it, and now see how it has done something like no other console…it helps bring families together.  All members of the family seem to become drawn into the Wii–even senior citizens appreciate it because it enables them to play games they thought they no longer could do! (Imagine playing a bowling game while confined to a wheelchair in real life!)

I see this system as a revolutionary movement in the video game industry and that is why I give it such high praise. I think it’s doing what many have called to do–bringing families back together and being active again.

  • original nintendo

  • @entendezmavoix - I think you just clawed out a bit of your frontal lobe.

  • @Zeke777G - You try to be funny. I try to kill idiots (despite my earlier criticism, I don’t lump you in this category).

  • I found the N64 to be truly innovative, along with Sega Genesis.

  • Commadore 64.  Kidding.  X-box 360.

  • SNES is the best ever hands down!!!

  • out of all the consoles we have, the wii is by far the best.

  • I’m not really into games but, I heard Wii is pretty good.

  • Depends.

Every console has its epic failures and its uber awesome trait.

    Personally I’m leaning towards a PS3 right now, even though I own a 360.

  • This generation: Xbox 360, hands down

The Wii is a joke. It’s fun & all for a little while, but the “novelty” wears off quickly. Aside from its so-called “innovations,” there’s really nothing to it at all. Nintendo has much better products out there.

The PS3 is decent but a tad overrated.

The 360 is the best in my opinion. Its game line-up is impressive, the graphics are overall fantastic, Xbox Live is highly superior to other live communities, etc.

  • @huginn - considering the fact that the function of your frontal lobe involves the ability to recognize future consequences resulting from current actions, to choose between good and
bad actions, override and suppress unacceptable
social responses, and determine similarities and differences between
things or events. As well, the frontal lobes play an important part in retaining longer
term memories which are not task-based. These are often memories
associated with emotions derived from input from the brain’s limbic
system. The frontal lobe modifies those emotions to generally fit
socially acceptable norms. (thank you wikipedia). So, in case you missed that, fronatl lobes are predominantly responsible for emotions and memory. considering the fact that mine was a controlled response based no way in memory, i believe you have committed the act of using these logical fallacies in your (lack of) argument: red herring (which, btw, was my logical fallacy. you seem to have missed this), affirming the consequent, begging the question, non sequitor, and, my favorite, ad hominem.

  • @huginn - You know this is the second time today I’ll have to shut someone up.

Guess you find the suicide analogy clever huh?

Sadly it was way off topic and a weak attempt at humor.

It was a weak attack.  You know she beat your little point down.  TKO style.  She won the debate.

But since she’s a bit more mature she didn’t stoop to your level.  But I sure as hell will stoop to your level.  We can play this game.  <3 you.

Next time you want to try a suicide analogy try being a bit funnier, a bit more graphic and a hell of a lot more original.

Next time you decide to get beaten down so decisively in a debate make sure you follow these steps.

    1.  Get some barbed wire.

    2.  Get a stool.

    3.  Climb on the stool and tie the barbed wire to the ceiling fan.

    3.  Make a noose with the barbed wire.

    4.  Wrap it around your neck.

    5. Turn on the ceiling fan

    6. Kick the stool out from under you.

    7.  Enjoy your personalized suicide from yours truly. Little cutie you <3

  • @DrugInducedDuck -

wrong indeed. But i want one because of its toy. I hate control pads.

In fact, screw consoles in general. When i wanna play a game – I head for my computer. mouse and keyboard rapes the shit out of a d-pad and control stick any day.

  • I adore the Wii and the SNES. Those are my favorites, however, the old school Atari still kicks some ass.

  • All I’ve ever owned/played is an Atari 2600.  It was good enough for me.

  • Video games always revolutionize. The atari, nintendo, sega genesis, xbox (all), ps1 2 3 , the wii. I can’t wait to see what’s next. **My fave is the xbox 360**

  • The SNES, no question, but the Wii is a lot of fun too.

  • The Xbox360 has monster graphics.

  • Pong
Ok, seriously, Wii is great for groups or 2 people, but my kids love Xbox 360, we don’t have one, but their friends do.

  • I’ve always been a fan of Playstation myself. I have PS2 and PS3 and I like both of them. But I love all video games, so whatever.

  • XBOX 360 no doubt!  i mean i love the wii..but i’m just so addicted to Halo 3 right now.  i love having to shoot the mo fo’s that talk shit, and than you use the mike to talk shit right back.  and once i master Halo..it would trip guys out even more if i do highly well…for a girl.    of course..i’m just going to attempt to do highly well in general.  GO HALO!

  • @AilinCorazon - You know this is the second time today I’ll have to shut someone up.

    That’s actually pretty funny.

Guess you find the suicide analogy clever huh?

At the point where you piggy-back off someone’s motif, you lose. Unoriginality is worse of a sin than bad humor.

  • @huginn - Weak comeback.  Try again.

  • @entendezmavoix - So, in case you missed that, fronatl lobes are predominantly responsible for emotions and memory. considering the fact that mine was a controlled response based no way in memory…

As you first describing the functionalities of the frontal lobe, I was building a silent admiration for your knowledge and expressiveness. All of that was deflated when you acknowledged paraphrasing Wikipedia. That’s okay.

But you proceeded to a totally off rehasing of the frontal lobe’s function. The hippocampus, not the frontal lobe, is responsible for memory. Parts of the brain stem, and not the frontal lobe is responsible for base emotional drives. My initial charges of stupidity were mean spirited and facetious. I only believed your focus and writing style to be bulky and funky.

This entire series of exchange only ironically confirms your stupidity; which, in all seriousness, is pretty sad.

i believe you have committed the act of using these logical fallacies in your (lack of) argument: red herring (which, btw, was my logical fallacy. you seem to have missed this), affirming the consequent, begging the question, non sequitor, and, my favorite, ad hominem.

At some point, you have to realize that I’m not taking this line of argumentation seriously. Seriously, you need to stop. That faux-intellectual posturing isn’t fooling anyone.

  • @AilinCorazon - Weak comeback.  Try again.

Nice of you to wave the white flag.

  • @huginn - Listen babycakes.  It’s ok.  You have nothing for me. Next time you step up to the big boss I’ll be waiting for you.  You can go lick your wounds elsewhere and Big Daddy over here will be waiting for you to step up to the plate k?

Bye bye cutie <3.  It’s ok.  There’s always tomorrow k?

You kind of ruined my night.  I expected fireworks and all I got was this :( .

  • PS3 but really, the computer, you’re on it right now

  • @DrugInducedDuck - A was a fan of the original NES

It’s either that or the N64 for me.

  • @another_rebel_without_a_cause - I was, too, but the system had so many hardware flaws that it was pretty much shit. SNES had the same kind of games, but all the hardware problems were fixed.

  • @huginn - i can’t help but be entertained by the mouse dressing as the lion. your cowardice is anything but remarkable. perhaps it should be expected from someone clearly so dense as to only be willing to mock my arguments instead of being competent enough to form his own. your insistence on challenging my intelligence is overwhelmingly obnoxious, to say the least, since i have clearly shown myself to be a stronger person than you. i pity you. you would seem to have nothing better to live for than to make yourself feel important by trying to knock down others. well, let me be the first to say (well, that is perhaps arrogant of me to claim to be the first person to say this) you are nothing. this persona of intelligence and wit you’ve deceived yourself in creating on this blogging site is a lie. you will never find gratification here. all you will find is the empty reality of oblivion.

so enjoy your ego. nurture it, as you have so fondly in the past. i don’t doubt it will one day be all you have left.

  • @DrugInducedDuck - Only you can fix your own NES. You have to do all that ridiculous stuff that should have no bearing on the machines productivity, but damn it, it worked.

“I put a paper clip train on the vent, prop up one end with two copies of 1984, and put a coffee filter on the top while wistling the Legend of Zelda theme. What? It works, man!”

  • SNES and Sega Dreamcast <333

  • there are many consoles missing from your list.  but i would have to say SNES.  choosing from your list, xbox360 is starting to win me over.

  • @AilinCorazon - You kind of ruined my night.  I expected fireworks and all I got was this :( .

I don’t dislike you, and you didn’t annoy me. It’s hard for me to fake bitterness.

Oh, and I was serious about the “stealing motif” deal. At the point that I realized you were borrowing my diss-theme, your exposition lost its bite– I felt that I had already intellectually won. (Yeah, I’m just weird that way)

  • @entendezmavoix -  i can’t help but be entertained by the mouse dressing as the lion.

    Moo.

…your cowardice is anything but remarkable. perhaps it should be expected from someone clearly so dense as to only be willing to mock my arguments instead of being competent enough to form his own.

As much as the freedom of speech is the “right” to speak, it is the “right” to remain silent. I recognized your whole logical fallacy thread was without merit. I didn’t have the time and energy to dabble down that alley when i know what’s waiting fo rme is a dead end.

your insistence on challenging my intelligence is overwhelmingly obnoxious

Guilty as charged. But you seriously goofed in yoru frontol lobe exposition.

…to say the least, since i have clearly shown myself to be a stronger person than you

Sure. I suppose that’s a reasonble conclusion from our bodies of work in this thread.

i pity you. you would seem to have nothing better to live for than to make yourself feel important by trying to knock down others

I don’t care about how I feel. I don’t care how high or low others are in relations to me. I enjoy argument and I enjoy banter. That’s it.

well, let me be the first to say (well, that is perhaps arrogant of me to claim to be the first person to say this) you are nothing. this persona of intelligence and wit you’ve deceived yourself in creating on this blogging site is a lie.

You haven’t visited my blog. You probably haven’t paid attention to my more serious comments in substanative thread on theologian cafe. Sure, from what you know, this is a justified tentative assessment; but you’re not working with a very large sample size here.

you will never find gratification here. all you will find is the empty reality of oblivion.

As wodnerful as you have been, you’re not my Jiminy Cricket.

so enjoy your ego. nurture it, as you have so fondly in the past. i don’t doubt it will one day be all you have left.

I cherish the holy trinity: Id, Ego, and Superego. Can’t have one without the others. =P

  • Phillips CD-i, ftw!

Wii is a great console! …but lacks good games….

  • while the xbox 360 has some pretty good games, it doesn’t have enough exclusives to warrant the title of ‘best ever.’ plus, the thing breaks down into a molten pile of microprocessors if you so much as stare at it for more than three seconds. shoddy hardware, man.

all that said, those of you saying the wii, the snes, or the nes are the best consoles clearly know nothing about video games.

    sega dreamcast, ftw.

  • Nintendo! Because you can’t play The Legend of Zelda games on anything else.

  • I had my best times during the N64 and PS1 eras. probably the best with the PS1 though!

  • Any Nintendo console. I would like to buy the Wii for my boyfriend, but everywhere I look (at least online) it seems to only come in “bundles” :P Looks like I’m going to have to pick a day to go store to store and find the best deal if there are any left haha

  • Xbox360 is the best! is a must own!!!!!!

  • well PS3 plays blu ray discs lol

thanks for posting this! trying to decide which one to get my hubby for christmas….

prolly go w/the one his best friend has (PS3)

  • its a cross between wii and xbox360 ,the 360 u can download music on to and the wii u can get fit with can play with your butt(wow) but i dont know ,i would have to get it get and try them

  • @SomedayHeaven - ps3 still not like wii or xbox360 ,the 390 is better than the ps3

  • @redchill - wii really dosen’t but there still coming out with games for it

  • I own all 3 and it depends what you want to get out of a gaming console. The Wii is really for my kids and it doesn’t have any games that will hold my interest for more than 10 mins. For serious online gamers it has to been the Xbox 360, but the PS3 is catching up fast. Plus, with the PS3 you more or less get a complete media entertainment system with blu-ray. If I was buying a console this Xmas it would be the PS3.

  • My son has all of them and the only one I liked was the Wii….lots of fun!

  • I still like N64. It has the variety needed by current consoles. Games like Perfect Dark, which featured a variety of first person AI were fun. It appealed to basic gamers for the more 2D games like Bust A Move. RPG’s were probably more fun with better graphics, and less cut scenes. and there was a nice selection of games.

As well as the speedy loading with no lag time, such as games do with a disc, N64 has capability for 4 controllers with out an additional cable. (the Wii and Gamecube continued this feature) I had also purchased an adaptor to allow me to play Japanese games when the N64 was popular.

The controller style is my favorite because it has both a joystick, a control pad, and four c buttons that work as an additional gampad. This made a better experience as I use it to play older games with my computer thank you to a usb adaptor.

    but that’s not neccessarily Theology.

  • I see a lot of people saying PC as best gaming console. (which is sort of like saying a demolition service is the best way to get rid of a mouse.)

I like playing games on a personal computer maybe more than the next person, and not just yahoo/flash games or first-person shooters, but a pc is not really a gaming console. (not a console dedicated to video gaming)

niether are a person’s chest, unless it has an electronic connection to the TV somehow.

  • Just own them all. That’s why I do. In fact, there are FIVE PS3s in my house, two 360s, and two Wiis. *shrugs* Solves everything.

  • Wii’s are for babies

I love my SEGA Dreamcast, but it died :(

    XBOX360 FTW!

  • super nintendo. that’s the only console i own and will ever own most likely.

  • the wii or ps3, fuck xbox 360 mine just gave me the red ring of death tonight!
