Most Annoying Person on Xanga
Maybe the person has harassed you. Maybe you had to block the person. Maybe you went on friend lock just to avoid him/her. (This post was inspired by death_by_chocolat).
Maybe you just don’t understand how the person gets the attention that he/she does. Maybe the person has sent you one too many mass messages.

the most annoying person on xanga is also one of the most gifted writers-but I’ve gotten to where I hate-absolutely hate-seeing her name anymore. she rarely ‘writes’ anymore, but instead ‘rants’ and updates the time stamp constantly. her writing is good…her personality, well not so much.

The only people that ever annoyed me I’ve blocked and Xanga shut them down for violations.

While her posts are often entertaining, there is NO way that her daily life is so exciting and dramatic. I would fall out of my chair if she ever wrote something so normal as “All I did today was lie around and watch TV”.
I’ve cancelled my sub for this person, and I’m even thinking about a block. *sigh* I think it’s great to write comical and intriguing posts on Xanga, but when it gets to a point that you’re living an untrue Xanga life for the sake of getting eProps…. Well, it’s gone too far.

So far I’ve seen ONE person NOT afraid to admit who they were when they mentioned ASM.
As for me, I enjoy reading her blogs. Maybe you should try getting to know the “person behind the monitor” before judging them.
As for me, I don’t really have one set person that I find annoying. I can’t stand when people create accounts JUST to get past the signin lock. That drives me CRAZY.

And I’m actually serious about that. I think if I described what I DO remember then people would recognize it, but….
My exboyfriend who wouldn’t stop leaving me comments, emailing/texting me, even wrote me a nasty letter after I blocked every electronic source. He resorted to writing stuff about me but I hope he moved on. That was bordering on stalking.

You can do and write whatever you want on your own blog. But I see nothing constructive or beneficial in this post. What was the point exactly? I’m genuinely curious. IMHO it just seems like an exercise in discouragement. It’s especially disturbing considering that many of the people named as annoying are friends of yours, Dan. Or maybe I just mistakenly assumed they were friends.
Well, I ignore or block the trolls. And they never get that much attention anyway. So….. I definitely have two someones in mind. But I’m not going to say whom. I would like to at least pretend I have more class than that.

After living with a little sister for 14 years it takes quite a bit for me to be annoyed.
So I can’t really think of anyone. The people who argue with other people for no reason at all can be annoying, but they are probably drunk or high, so usually I just chuckle at them.

Clearly, although I would hope that after reading me for as long as you did you might know me at least a little better. You don’t follow me around in my day-to-day struggles and secondly it doesn’t matter. Yes, I could lie my ass off to try (key word there) get some more eprops, but I’m fairly certain I’d come up with a lot better than falling down in a convenience store or talking about my idiot neighbors.

I’m not even going to try and validate my life. What you so irresponsibly call “exciting and dramatic” I call sheer hell most days. I cry my ass off over half the shit the happens to me, and my escape from it most of the time is in the pages of my blog. Yep, I totally make light of it, act like the little shit (or the big shit…or when I plainly get shit on) doesn’t bother me, but it does. On the days that I do lie around and watch TV, which yes does happen but isn’t terribly interesting to the reader so I don’t dive into a spiel on television; I try to tell stories from when I was a kid. Things that happened to me in the past.
For the record, I’m a lot of things. I’m a terrible dancer. I can’t make meatloaf without it tasting like kitty litter. I’ve got hair on my pinkie toe that I have to shave off. I’m not terribly good looking and I’ve got terrible breath in the morning. But one thing I’m not is a liar. That annoys the shit out of me. Telling the truth is one of my redeeming attributes, one that actually gets me in trouble more often than it saves my size 14 bum, is that I’m honest to a fault. Casting an accusing finger, or going Nathaniel Hawthorne on my ass can only piss me off as a result.
For the record, I don’t belief some of the shit I read on Xanga a lot of the time either. Sometimes its bland. Some of the supposed rape survivors seem to worship and glorify their rape as a means of attention (given the topic of the post it seems appropriate to mention this). But everyone has had different experiences, and when you’ve lived in 10 different states, two forign countries, and had your dad murdered all before your 12th birthday; you might see the world through different eyes too. Yes, thats true too. And no, I don’t talk about my dad because thats hands off and private. The proof is in the pudding and my life has had a lot of different pudding mixes; but I’ll be damned if someone (even someone I considered an online friend) tries to tarnish or question my word because their too narrow-minded to belief it.
Case in point: I’ve never asked you to believe anything. Check my bloggie out, clearly I don’t get as many comments as the girls who blabber on about their supposed rape experiences. I’ve got a similiar (near) rape experience and you don’t see me getting all misty-eyed for attention over it. I don’t quote Fark stories for comments. I don’t have interesting poems. I get maybe 20 comments a day. 20 miserable comments in exchange for a good 2-hours worth of work trying to write (in complete sentences even) and tell the truth as I see it, and then you come along and dismiss my life as fiction and fabrication for a lowly 20 comments. That fucking hurts…its low, and I thought you were my friend. Damn girl. Thanks for coming to me first before posting this out in the open.
For the record, I won’t be blocking you. I want you to to be able to read exactly what I have to say on the topic later on. It won’t be nasty, though. I’m not capricious after all.

No one currently annoys me as they aren’t guilty of a lot of mass messaging. They do it only when it’s appropriate, and sometimes, it is. I don’t get annoying comments on my posts. I do wish that some would comment more in reference to what I posted, but it’s no big deal. I’m just thankful they took time to visit.
I MAY get annoyed by some comments I read on other sites, but I let it go.
In my time on Xanga, I have blocked only two Xangans whose ID’s I don’t remember. One of them had hijacked another’s site.
I think I lost one friend/subscriber because he was annoyed by a statement on my pulse.

“annoyance” is an interesting thing. There are *lots* of people who annoy me sometimes. Even people I like. Some of my closest friends annoy me often. And of course my family annoys me often. Calling someone “annoying” isn’t really that harsh a criticism and honestly it wouldn’t bother me much at all. I expect we’re ALL annoying to lots of people all the time. So it’s probably the reasons someone finds you annoying that is likely to be the cause for controversy or pain. And maybe not knowing the reason just causes people to feel all self-conscious and disturbed.
So finding a most annoying person is really hard and once I said someone I’d feel bad about it because just because I find you the most annoying xangan I know doesn’t mean I don’t like you or don’t want to be your friend. And I wouldn’t want to tell said person why I find them annoying because that would likely cause them to get defensive but if I didn’t they’d get self-conscious.
So I’ll opt out of answering the question and just say that I don’t think there’s a single Xangan who I *haven’t* ever found annoying. I just choose not to pay enough attention to determine relative weights of annoyingness.

This is so high school once again. I find some posts annoying from different xangans. And I *hate* time stamping and mass messages. I also hate posts about ”get over it” – that is even more annoying that the actual time stamping and mass messaging. But no one yet.

There isn’t one in particular, but the anorexics who use xanga to record their daily exercise and colorie intake are pretty abnoxious.

Revelife still seems rather confused as to what it wants to be. They’ve been doing a little better lately, but, early on they were horrible.

I think she needs to grow a thicker skin. Maybe having so very many Xanga fans has inflated her ego so much that she’s forgotten that not everyone in this world is going to like her or what she has to say. I know that I annoy some people. I know that some people just can’t stand me. I admit that I am a bitch and am damn proud of it.

Two people, one of whom blogs annonymously. I dislike the first one because she is obsessed with her own anonymity. It is one of her prime blogging topics. At one point she even tried describing herself looks-wise to her readers. No one gives a fuck that you are hiding your face and identity. If anything, it makes you difficult to relate to. The second has the opposite problem. Shameless self promotion and posts about absolutely nothing that take off for no reason. This person’s readers are just lemmings and perverts there to look at pictures.
I know this is immature, but I do feel much, much better.

Well, annoying people can be irritating to various degrees. It has been pointed out to me to peruse the Xanga Homepage and now that I do, I find that there are several layers of irritation from and toward bloggers. I am sure I have been annoying and will continue to be in forms/ways I may not even know. For example, I leave long comments.
This question, as I am sure you know, sparks more controversy than it does discussion.
I have seen some really annoying comments left for other people in Xanga, but i’ve not dealt with any annoyances personally, so i consider myself fortunate to be able to say that no-one comes to mind…yet!

I don’t understand why you think this particular entry is mean and highschool. I think it’s actually good. I mean new year’s coming up… so this is like Johari Window. If there are people here being pointed out and they don’t think they’re “annoying”, then that’s their BLIND SPOT. If they know it as well, then that’s their social self. This is simply a form of self-awareness people! If you don’t have it every once in a while (if you can’t take the heat), then your people skills must be weak… which is sad for bloggers who post about others. If you can’t be objective about this, then you aren’t fit to interact with the diverse array of personalities in Xanga. You just won’t be able to handle it. That’s when the DRAMA begins. *sigh*
Honestly, I think it’s all blind spots since there are very few who agree that they are. Acceptance is part of maturity. if you won’t accept it, then CHANGE. Like I said, new year’s coming up. What better time to start trying to be nice, considerate, and less annoying. Man is a social being. It can’t be all about you. And when people start to say you’re “annoying”, then you must be doing something wrong. If you’re one of them, no one’s asking you become an entirely different person. Is it that difficult to say “Thanks for that feedback. What am I doing wrong? I can’t promise you I can do it, but I’d like to know what you think I can do to make it better. How can I change?” And for those who call people out, I understand why you’re all being anonymous. But it’s not helping the people you’re pointing fingers at. Make yourselves known. Talk it out with those who annoy you! This is Xanga for crying out loud! We are a community. We should be interacting.
I don’t really think Dan made for this to be what I just discussed… But it can be. We are writers. Value the meaning of the words that are being thrown out. It’s really all about self-awareness and acceptance… which can lead to change and development. And a lot less drama in the future!
This is the first time I’ve written something this long on Dan’s blog. If you think Johari’s window and self-awareness is stupid and unneccessary, it’s not. It’s standard procedure for nursing students and nurses (such as myself) before we enter the psych ward. If we have flaws, we have to know about them and accept them so that we might change as needed by our patients. Otherwise, we might endanger ourselves and the mental health of our patients if our traits or characteristics or habits are significant enough to trigger something (i.e. a realization, memory of a traumatic experience, defense mechanisms) that they’re not physically and/or psychologically equipped to deal with.

I don’t really think I know of any that annoy me. Though I am guilty of wanting to start fights with people bashing other people. Especially when they pick on those with mental and/or physical problems. But I’ve always had trouble keeping my mouth shut when I see people picking on others.
I’m kinda disappointed that I don’t annoy anyone…Guess I’m just that un-popular, eh?

@princess_serenity07 - They say some people can communicate better with their fists. These people communicate with more sharpened and defined, “Fuck you!”s, so I’m pretty sure it might help do the same. Man is a sociable creature, but it’s also a corrupt and warmongering beast. Some people show off their talents in sports, others show it off by exemplifying their mastery in their immense repertoire of murderous weapons (witty comebacks).
They are interacting with each other, more violently, yeah, but just because this is a community doesn’t mean this is a group therapy session, right?
With you acting as a mediator, I wonder if you would instigate more battles than solve them?
@ecafrusehtrednu - self-awareness is not group therapy. and i am not planning on becoming a moderator. if someone tells me i’m a dick, i’d like to know why. maybe i can change. i’m talking about putting thoughts first instead of feelings when using words. for example:

@princess_serenity07 - What I’m saying is that people tend to become more violent, what you’re promoting is that people communicate without harsh words, and sure, that’s fine. But if people are already locked in a conflict, I don’t understand why you feel the need to break it up. Honestly, I think people get into fights because they like to.
And don’t take it the wrong way, I wasn’t trying to spark a conflict with you, just conversation, so you honestly don’t have to go and ask me “What made you say that?”. xD
I’m just wondering what do you hope to accomplish when you ask people to put down their swords, especially on Xanga, a website that hinders your response time, and doesn’t really give you many opportunities to bring people who are fighting together. And what I meant about group therapy was that a community has drama, and it has conflicts, if ideally, we were to solve our conflicts peacefully and attempted to delve into someone’s thoughts with negative feelings aside, it would be essentially a group therapy session, wouldn’t it?
@ecafrusehtrednu - you totally misunderstand me, my dear. in self-awareness, people can communicate with harsh words. given that you remove yourself from the emotions you’re feeling and become objective about it. it’s not about breaking anything up. it’s using the quarrel as a means to grow. and for the last time, it’s not group therapy. it’s self-awareness.

I figure if people wanted to solve things peacefully, they would talk like you and I did, and if people wanted to use poor demeanor, they would be fueled by their emotions. Another reason is your avatar. Your avatar looks like something from anime or manga, which a lot (not all) of teenagers and young adults are obsessed with. Sorry if I missed your age but these 34 year old nearsighted eyes of mine have a hard time focusing that tiny little font. I guess I’ll go have my eyes checked.
