President Obama is conducting a Beer Summit to help smooth over a situation after he said police behaved “stupidly” for arresting a black friend.

President Obama will meet with his friend and the police officer and they will have a beer.  It is being reported that President Obama will drink a Bud Light.  The police officer will drink Blue Moon.  The president’s friend will drink either Red Stripe or Beck’s.  Here is the link:  Link

Today is the 4 year anniversary of this site.  Four years ago today I launched this site after shutting down Danthetheologian.  It was proceeded in death by thetheologian.  So this was my third site on xanga.

It is funny how sensitive I was when I first started on xanga.  It bothered me to read posts about my site.  I would have a fear go down my spine every time I would come across a post that mentioned me in any way.  It never felt like any of them were positive either. 

But these days I am xanga tough. 

How many xanga sites have you had?

Pretend that you had to pick one xangan that would die.  You couldn’t get out of it.  You had to pick one and that person would die instantly.

Which xangan would you pick?

I am curious as to how emotionally attached you get to what you read on xanga or even the people involved.  For example, it made me sad to read a post the other day where someone mentioned his father mistreated him.

Recently, I made friends with someone who said she was dying of cancer.  When I heard she was in the final moments of her life, I was sad and even depressed for a few hours.  (That story was later brought into question by some on xanga but I don’t want to get into it for the sake of this discussion).

I wonder how many have even been moved to tears for someone they have never met on xanga.

The state of Washington has taking steps to protect “the rights of mothers who breast-feed their children in public places such as movie theaters, parks and shopping malls.”

This law takes the next step forward.  There was already a law that exempted women who were breast-feeding from being charged with indecency laws.  This will apply pressure to those who ask women to cover up in public.  Here is the link:  Link

I was just reading an article that indicated that waitresses and waiters are excluded from the minimum wage increases and have been frozen since $2.13 an hour.

The federal minimum wage just rose from $6.55 an hour to $7.25 an hour.  But the minimum wage increase does not apply to those receiving tips. 

According to the article, waitresses and waiters “have nearly three times the poverty rate of the nation’s workforce.”  Here is the link:  Link

Baby clothes with adult themed slogans raised controversy in Australia and are in New Zealand now.

The shirts have slogans like “I’m a tits man,” “The condom broke,” “I’m living proof my mum is easy, and “Mummy likes it on top.”
