Is Xanga Premium Worth it?
I have a few friends that are getting ready to purchase premium on xanga again or for the first time. So the discussion they will often lead on their sites is whether premium is worth paying for.

what benifits does it have that would make it benificial?
I think if you are trying to make money using adsense though, if it pays for itself then get it?

I thought about buying premium for XTV. Unfortunately, money’s a bit tight right now…
once i get the credits for it i will get prem for the archival function

Used to be worth it.
I think I once heard someone say (over and over again) that xanga doesn’t make up the loss of ad revenue in membership costs from premium members, so I think the answer would be no, at least for the xanga team. But if that’s the case, they were making a lot more out of adsense than I could on my site.
I hate ads too. Worth it for me, definitely.
I think it’s a good value considering how inexpensive it is in relation to how much fun Xanga is.
Never had it so I don’t know. The free part is fine with me,I just ignore the adds. If the adds make money for Xanga then thats quite ok with me. There has never been an add on here that talked me into one thing

Yes I’d say its worth it.
You get to save your stuff.
You can get rid of ads.
You’re supporting the community. (Who doesn’t love that?)
And I believe you can upload more. But I’m not sure how much more.

Hellz yeah! I love having premium. And BTW I totally didn’t have XTV before I had premium, but I could view other peeps XTV broadcasts.

Not at all… The only real difference that I see is the advertisements.
As with any major purchase in a recession, I’m waiting to see what happens…

I’ve always had it, and I remember getting mad when a lot of the features it came with became available without it as well, so I don’t even know what’s different about it now. What is this archival feature everyone speaks of?
for archiving, that is a MUST! what’s $4 bucks a month? acematt’s right – xangatv is open for everyone.

I went lifetime — so I wouldn’t have to worry about yearly fees. Better that way anyway.

I paid for Xanga life nearly two years ago was worth it than and have made sure I got my money worth.

Worth it to rack up the credits just so that you can have the Archive function. Don’t pay money for it though. I paid for Lifetime, and if this place disappears that will be wasted money.
I think it is, if not solely to get rid of plugz. But also I like it for the extended amount of protected users I can add even though I don’t post protected very often, it’s nice to have if I so want to. Sadly, my year of premium is up next month…or maybe sooner, I can’t remember.
If you didn’t have to pay actual money, then yeah. But since you have to pay cash, then no. -.-
Not to me. Xanga serves the function I want it to without me having to pay for it.
NO. It doesn’t comes with anti-spammers and anti-hackers features.

If you need a vast amount of photo space or do a lot of protected posts. Or do what I do and save a lot of credits, then why not.
Sounds to me like they give most of it away for free these days. I’d want more exclusive features if I was going to pay for premium. But as you can tell by look at my site, I haven’t been doing much posting here anyway.

So. You get access to more pictures to download on your site…. and you don’t have advertistments.
but honestly. The advertistments aren’t bad & you can just copy & paste pics! LOL

Photobloggers should have Premium so they can post all the pics they want.

Yep. Especially for those of us who upload tons of pictures.
I like it because of the default picture option of 99 pics, but other than that, I don’t really see much of a difference.
No because their archives are the only real “benefit,” and they don’t always work (I’ve gotten several corrupted files instead of viable archives and at least one that my virus detection kicked out) AND they don’t include photos.
@delicate_envy - Just get firefox with adblock plus, it’s cheaper (i.e. free).
My investment was well worth it.
With the amount of traffic coming to my site, they probably make more money off the $100 I paid for Life than they would off ads on my site.

i changed my mind.. NO ITS NOT WORTH IT! bah… email posting stopped working for me AGAIN! no point i rather live with the AD then pay for a service that i MIGHT get to use….
no. I was obsessed with xanga for about a month and still saw no need. Maybe if I was rich and had nothing better to spend my money on. but even then I don’t think the trouble of keeping track of one more bill would be worth it.
No. I had it and gave it up. The only significant advantage was having lots of profile pics. The extra memory and other stuff is pretty minor. You almost never see anyone anymore with the premium logo.
