I was reading a xanga site a few years back and a person on xanga was talking about how his Internet reputation was ruined. 

He mentioned that a “popular” person on xanga had said something about him and now everyone believed it and it ruined his reputation.  I had never heard of the “popular” blogger at the time but I read some of the comments.

One person in the comment box mentioned that a person’s Internet reputation didn’t matter.  Since this wasn’t real life, it didn’t matter what people said.  He also mentioned that people are used to people saying things about others on the Internet so people tend to take things with a grain of salt.

It is funny because I have read so many things about my site over the years that I don’t tend to give very much of it a thought.

Roman Polanski is a famous director. 

He has been in the news because he was arrested last week in Switzerland. 

He raped a 13 year old girl about 30 years ago.  He gave her Champagne and a drug.  He then had oral and vaginal sex with her and later had anal sex with her.  He served 42 days in a mental institution but he was afraid the judge was going to sentence him to prison.  So he took off.

Now he has been arrested and several actors are saying he should be freed.  Here is the link:  Link

The thinking is that he has had a rough life in that his wife was brutally murdered plus he went on to have a brilliant directing career.

A 6 1/2 foot cross was made in order to honor those who died in World War I.  Veterans first put the cross up in 1934.

The problem is that the cross is on Federal property.  There are some that are concerned that the cross represents an endorsement of Christianity by the government.  Here is the link:  Link

When I was back in my dating years, I would never compete for a woman.

If a lady indicated that she might be thinking about another person and was trying to make a choice, I would not play that game.  This happened to me once when I went out with a lady a few times.  I simply withdrew and told her she should go for the other guy.

I was just reading an article that suggested President Obama would like for school days to be longer and for school to extend during the summer for kids going to school.

The thinking is that kids need to go to school for a longer period of time in order to be competitive with other countries.  Here is the link:  Link

It has come to my attention that some people on xanga are a little confused and others are skeptical of my plan to Save the Bobs.

I want to deal with the confusion first.  Apparently one little extra “o” has thrown the campaign off.

The Bobs of the world are in trouble.  They are quickly dying off.

You probably know about Bob Marley.  He died.

Then there is Bob Hope.  He died also.

Then there is Bob Kennedy.  They shot and killed him.

So you can see the Bobs are dropping like flies.

Have you taken a look at Bob Barker recently?

He won’t last long.

So I have designated October as Save the Bobs month.

I am going to raise awareness to the fact that we are all impacted by the issue of Bobs dying off.

Now you are going to hear complaints during this month.  You are going to hear people say that there is already awareness of the dying Bob issue.  But think about it.  We will be more aware of this issue if a site like mine gets everyone involved.

It will also cause people to check their own Bobs to make sure they are ok.

You will also see people saying they are doing more than we are in our campaign.  They will announce they have already donated more money to saving the Bobs than we have.  We tip our hats to them even though we never heard them mention saving the Bobs before we raised the issue.

Some people will say that it is not Christian to save the Bobs.  I want to remind them that God created the Bobs and He meant us to see them.  In fact, the Bible never mentions it is wrong to look at the Bobs.

So I need your help the entire month.

Who is with me in my effort to Save the Bobs?

I have a little theory.  The theory is that the bulk of the people that come to xanga and stay do not come to xanga through a google search or through looking for a blogging social network.

I believe the bulk of people that came to xanga came to xanga because a personal friend told them about xanga.  So at some level, the key to xanga growing is for the users to be so excited about xanga that they invite their friends.
