Well, I am a southern girl so I am totally biased. Taylor wins my vote. Although, as someone pointed out, you are talking about two different genres so it is almost like comparing apples and oranges.
I think Taylor won because she appeals to a younger crowd and she’s hot. I don’t like either all too much, but I’d have to go with Beyonce because there is more variety that I’ve heard over the years. Taylor is too “narrow” right now. She needs to venture out and then she may be more easily comparable to long time artists.

She’s very talented, of course, but it was Taylor Swift who had won the award and it was just very disrespectful the act that he committed, basically blatantly saying that Taylor Swift did not deserve the award and therefore implying that the fans were wrong for voting for her.

I’m not a Beyonce fan, but I am one of Taylor’s. But my opinion is still that Beyonce is more vocally talented, and Taylor is the better songwriter. Plus, she plays guitar. Bonus points for playing her own music during performances.

While Taylor Swift’s video had a plot and an appealing fairytale quality (like most of her videos), I think in the long run Beyonce’s video will be more iconic. I get why Taylor Swift won, though. She was a lone country singer against four pop artists, so she was almost guaranteed 100% of the votes from the country demographic (and she probably got some of the pop vote too).

But he appears to be remorseful. I must confess I thought both videos to be average. I didn’t even finish watching Beyonce’s. Good dancing but really uncomfortable seeing so much body. While the dancing was good, it wasn’t enough to hold my attention or to warrant the awkwardness of watching three (albeit beautiful and talented) half naked women for three minutes.

Well, the category was for best ‘video’ and i thought taylor’s video was pretty cute but beyonce’s was simple yet perfect.. all she needed for a good video was two back up dancers, leotards, and a black/white effect. Beyoncé is a better singer. She has been around for a while now and has set the bar for many artists like Rihanna, Keri Hilson, Ciara, etc. She has a beautiful voice and she is a beautiful person. Single Ladies is an awesome song, awesome video, and her voice is unbelievable. She is original, sings with soul, and has a distinguishable voice unlike the majortity of female artists today. *COUGH COUGH LADY GAGA KATY PERRY*
I have nothing against Taylor Swift, but I don’t like her music. I don’t even like country period. But…Taylor Swift isn’t really country, is she (though she claims to be…?)? She’s more like pop-country. But whatever, good for her and her award. Beyoncé is still the better singer.

Even if he was right Beyonce was not the one who the people voted. She’s very talented, of course, but it was Taylor Swift who had won the award and it was just very disrespectful the act that he committed, basically blatantly saying that Taylor Swift did not deserve the award and therefore implying that the fans were wrong for voting for her.
I think both of them are good in their own genre of music. But Kayne could have kept his mouth shut and let Taylor have her moment, especially since it was her 1st award.

But my opinion is still that Beyonce is more vocally talented, and Taylor is the better songwriter. Plus, she plays guitar. Bonus points for playing her own music during performances.
Beyonce’s music may be “fun”, but her video was…boring. I like the fact that Taylor’s had a storyline.
Whatever the opinion on it, Kanye is still an asshole, Beyonce has amazing class, and Taylor…well, I feel sorry for the girl cause of Kanye’s mic stealing.

Beyonce is a better vocalist and a better performer. And I actually think her video was better, too. While Taylor Swift’s video had a plot and an appealing fairytale quality (like most of her videos), I think in the long run Beyonce’s video will be more iconic. I get why Taylor Swift won, though. She was a lone country singer against four pop artists, so she was almost guaranteed 100% of the votes from the country demographic (and she probably got some of the pop vote too).

But he appears to be remorseful. I’ve chalked it up to a (most likely) drunken mistake, although he’s no doubt extremely egotistical and needs to learn to think about how his actions effect other people, a life skill most people begin fine-tuning in kindergarten.
I love both artists. They’re both extremely talented and I enjoy their music. If you ask whose music I like more of, hands down it’s Taylor’s. I can listen to every one of her songs. I still like Beyonce’s music too though.

That had nothing to do with who was a better singer. It was a video award. How Beyonce even got nominated for that joke of a ‘video’ is beyond me. It’s certainly not one of the best videos of all time. Probably not even one of the best of the last six months.
But to answer your question: Beyonce is the better singer.
Taylor is a bit….well…This is my personal opinion…that Taylor Swift is very talented, but a bit silly. My favourite song of hers is You Belong With Me.
I love singing along with it but I cannot stand the video.

But to answer the posted question… I like Taylor’s music better. It has feeling, and it’s great for me to sing to (plus I prefer country over hip-hop). BUT, I think Beyonce has a better voice. She’s more seasoned, and she knows exactly what she’s doing. Taylor will get much better as she goes on, but for right now, she’s inexperienced compared to others.

I prefer Taylor’s music, but they are both incredibly talented singers. Beyonce does not write all of her music, and I love the fact that Taylor does. But when it comes down to it these are completely different genres, so it’s too hard to compare.

I must confess I thought both videos to be average. I didn’t even finish watching Beyonce’s. Good dancing but really uncomfortable seeing so much body. While the dancing was good, it wasn’t enough to hold my attention or to warrant the awkwardness of watching three (albeit beautiful and talented) half naked women for three minutes.
Beyonce. But the award was for video, not singing — and Beyonce’s video was just a bunch of chicks with thunder thighs dancing around. The first time I saw it months ago I thought it was ridiculous and still do.
I’m a big fan of Beyonce, and I do think that her video was better than Taylor Swift’s. I also think her voice is better.
That said, Kanye was still wrong. He took her moment and then flat-out dissed her. I’m a fan of his music, but not of his attitude at times.
Also, Beyonce is awesome for calling Taylor up out of the blue like that, so she could have her time to speak.

Well, the category was for best ‘video’ and i thought taylor’s video was pretty cute but beyonce’s was simple yet perfect.. all she needed for a good video was two back up dancers, leotards, and a black/white effect. Though the song, “Single Ladies”, annoys the shit out of me, the video itself deserved the award. But taylor swift deserved enough respect to at least be able to accept the award. You could have criticized her but really, to disrespect her and steal her moment is just an asshole move.

Can’t really compare the two since the ladies do two different types of music, and thus sing differently. Besides the award wasn’t for best performer/singer it was for best video.
