The Movies
I took my wife to see the movie “Love Happens” tonight.
It was alright for a romantic movie. I would give it about a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Here are some of the movies that were playing:
1. 9
2. Aliens in the Attic
3. All About Steve
4. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
5. District 9
6. Extract
7. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
8. Gamer
9. The Informant10. Inglourious Basterds
11. Jennifer’s Body
12. Love Happens
What movie would you see?
Comments (138)
Porky’s, all of the Van Wilder movies, the American Pie movies, and Debbie Does Dallas. You know, all your faves, Dan.
Zombieland
9
I have not payed attention lately. I have know idea what any of these is about….well G I Joe was a kid fav of mine, so I can guess what that is about.
I would like to see, “Love Happens”. Now if only i could find someone to watch it with….hm.
9 would be first choice. (Tim Burton FTW)
Inglourious Basterds after that.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. It sounds like an intellegent romance.
i saw Gamer and 9. 9 was horrible it was a little over an hour long and it seemed rushed to me and it was confusing until the end and then it was over…lol. Gamer was different, that’s really all i could say about it, better than 9..but it has a lot of nudity in it…it was ok. movies aren’t as good as they used to be.
i’m waiting for law obiding citizen to come out though, that looks good.
i would have seen the informant though haha…maybe i’ll see that tomorrow.
9.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs or 9.
I saw Gamer, it was different. It would’ve been better as a TV series.
Inglourious Basterds, we actually almost went to see it tonight…but decided we shouldn’t for budget’s sake. We decided to rent Inkheart, which turned out to be quite good if you haven’t seen it.
district 9 or inglorious bastards
9 or jennifers body… I saw Inglourious Basterds twice in one week, I loved it. I also loved District 9.
not gonna lie, i kinda wanna see cloudy with a chance of meatballs ahahaha
@Strangebrain - I agree. Zombieland definately.
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs I read the book lol. Maybe jennifer’s body so I could critic it.
I love how you made “9″ number 1 instead of 9.
I’ve already seen a few of those, but out of the ones I haven’t seen I’d choose 9.
District 9 all the way. I’ve seen it once, I’d see it again.
11
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
cloudy with a chance of meatballs
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs was a GREAT movie.
Uhhhh, probaly 9, The Informant! and Jennifers Body next.

~GiGi
9
I have seen District 9, I loved it.Zombieland is not on the list so I guess GI Joe.
Dear Dan,
I haven’t seen a movie in a theater for a long time. My 60″ 1080p HDTV coupled with all the input media you can imagine makes seeing movies in my home actually better than seeing them in the theater. I might have to wait a little longer for the Blu Ray but I don’t have to sit through screaming kids, or watch blinking cellphone screens, or experience the pain of seeing TV ads on a 70 foot screen, blasted at me with audio levels that would kill a dog.
That said, I really anticipate seeing District 9. It’s got a great score on Rotten Tomatoes, (90 percent) and all of the people who have seen it that I know (with the exception of one, and I don’t trust his opinion anyway) love the film.
Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool
Absolutely Zed. Zero. Zilch. None of those Movies would I go see. The reasons are simple- It’s a complete hassle to travel to any theater experience AND I can’t see the things anyway. I get the most from a 25 inch television and an easy chair connected to a stereo and also a set of good ear phones playing a pirated copy of the latest and greatest on the screen for $5 (pardon me if I skip the locations of my corner trunk salesmen) My problems arise in life from the interest levels of other audience participants- I always get some ass who has seen the movie and thus isn’t interested in seeing it again or the kinds of people that refuse to comment upon the experience except in the most distractive way/time possible- but again this is rarer than the rocks of audience I get. There are exceptions to this rule- I wanted to see IN A Theater- the star wars 1-3′s, prince of egypt, chicken run, and october sky…. I was dragged to a neat dining theater experience for W-which was all the better with beer in hand so I forgave the rudeness of dragging me out. some movies just are better in theatrical settings, the best being Gettysburg on a huge panoramic screen… and that is a close first to Apollo 13 in IMAX. but really some movies need the openness of a theater-but sometimes it’s nice to see the dang things.
I thought this was about the PC game “The Movies”
District 9 was incredible. A true classic.
I want to see Inglorious Bastards though…
District 9. I’ve heard lots of great things about it and its social commentary.
1.
inglorious bastards, definitely.
Probably # 1, 5, or 9
Gosh, none of those options sound appealing except for Love Happens.. and I don’t even want to see that one badly, I can wait for it to come out on DVD. Hahaha.
Jennifer’s Body
Inglourious Basterds
good site~
1, 5, or 10
4. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
Extract!
District 9 FoSho
Cuz I went to comic-con
I saw GI Joe. It was cool. The girls were hot.
I would probably end up at GI joe
saw cloudy today. it was good =)
i also saw 9 and gamer. both were alright.
i wanna watch love happens.. but it seems very predictable
Love Happens was a horrible movie… No character development and weak plot. It wasn’t even a real romantic comedy, to say the least! Anyway, Inglourious Basterds blows all those other movies out of the water!
9 sucked…

District 9 was aaaawesome.
#2, #4 and #12. I don’t really know what #11′s about but it sounds interesting so I wouldn’t mind watching that either.
I would like to see this: Inglourious Basterds
I have a DVD copy of District 9 at home, and I just watched about 5 minutes of it…I think it sucks.
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra or 9, depending on who i was with.
Love Happens and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs…
I want to see
9
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
Gamer
Inglourious Basterds
Jennifer’s Body
Love Happens
I’ve seen
District 9
Informant
3 and 4 sound interesting.
9. The movie 9, I mean. Weird animation ftw!
9, Ive seen district 9 and IGB, both sucked imo.
I’d like to watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. XD
9 and CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, cause I already saw JENNIFER’S BODY
I don’t have a desire to see any of them, actually. Movies just aren’t what they used to be back in the day. Rarely does one come out I want to see. I broke my neck to get to see all of the Lord of the Rings movies. Since then, I’ve mostly only watched to be going with friends.
I am going to see Dorian Gray today. It is not on that list
D9 or Inglorious Barsterds
Inglorious bastards.
I would see Jennifers Body, it’s the only one I have heard of.
I’ve seen ’9′, ‘District 9′(twice), and ‘Inglourious Basterds’(effing fantastic, and I’m not a Tarantino fan), and I kind of want to see ‘The Informant’. everything else listed is crapola :
honestly, is anyone with a brain going to see ‘Jennifer’s Body’, or ‘GI Joe’? because you’d have to either lobotomize me or pay me a fair amount to see either one of those.
District 9 or Inglorious Basterds. They are both badass movies.
9
@saintvi - Also, maybe The Informant.
@lauracake - My boyfriend and I saw The Informant last night. It was one of those movies that show the only funny parts in the preview. It was a very bland movie. Quite a disappointment for $9.50.
District 9 or Jennifers body!
I have seen Inglourious Basterds and District 9. Both incredible movies. I would probably see either 9 or Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I saw sneak peaks of cwacom, funny as hell. :]
I would NOT see Jennifer’s Body. Waste of money. Waste of time. Waste of space in the theater. Screw you Megan Fox. Go do porn. You’re a bad actress -.-
Deep Throat, I love the classics…………
inglorious basterds or cloudy with a chance of meatballs
I actually did see Inglourious Basterds on Friday, and it was awesome. Veeery well done use of language.
Also, saw the preview of “Gamer.”
….
You every catch the “Death Race” movie? SAME THING, but less cars, and more nudes, so it appears.
I would have seen 9 on the night it came out, but it wasn’t playing anywhere near me.
I saw District 9 which was excellent. I would see 9, The Informant!, and Love Happens. I have also heard good things about Inglourious Basterds.
The Informant! Followed by Inglourious Basterds, District 9, and 9. Probably won’t see any of them in the theater.
9 sucked. don’t even bother.
i’d like go see gamer, cloudy with a chance of meatballs, jennifer’s body, or district 9.
9, District 9, Inglourious Basterds
g.i joe.
District 9 (if I wasn’t so terrified of horror films or anything scary) or Inglorious Basterds. I wanted to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but when I realized that the movie was NOTHING like the book, that turned me way off.
@iamtherootsbeneathyourfeet - My mom works at a theatre so I get to see movies for free. Ha ha.
District 9, or 9, honestly anything besides Love Happens, hahaha.
All About Steve
9 all the way. I’m a girl and I can’t stand most mushy chick flicks. I like the Note Book though.
9
9, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs or Jennifer’s Body.
I’ve already seen District 9 and Inglourious Basterds and both were fabulous.
@Queen_of_You188 - District 9 wasn’t scary. It was more of a documentary than anything. It’s bloody, yes. But scary? No.
“Gamer”. I just need someone to go with me. *lol*
i saw district 9 and G.I. Joe already, so I’ll choose Jennifer’s body lol
#4
I went and saw Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs last night–we actually chose it over Love Happens. Anyway, it was HILARIOUS! I loved it.
Inglourious Bastards or Jennifer’s Body.
@Innuendo__X - nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Blood!!!!!!!!!! >.<
#9 or 10.
4, just a funny name…
Inglorious Basterds and All About Steve
District 9 was great, but I saw it a few weeks ago so I would see 9 or GI JOE, some of the others are interesting but Netflix rentals for sure.
District 9 and Inglourious Basterds were both awesome movies, probably the best of the summer. So, for something different, I’d probably see The Informant. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it.
JENNIFER’S BODY!
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs!!!
this makes me wanna go watch a movie!! ><
G.I.joe b/c i havent seen it yet
I guess Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. None of them seem very appealing though.
I’d rather keep that crisp $10 bill virginal and stored in my wallet.
I’ve only ever heard of Gamer and the Basterds one. I’ve heard good thing about the latter, sooo… probably that. Unless the picture/advert for any of the others looks good while I’m buying my ticket so I change my mind.
I am not too fussy with movies: I can watch pretty much anything… except for this one movie, “Dear Frank.” Lord, that was boring.
“G Force,” but since it has to be one from your list, “ Inglourious Basterds” looks like it owuld keep my interest.
i wanna see 9 so baddd!
i meant the movie 9 btw… not number 9 on your list… whew way to be confusing!
District 9. I’d see it four or five more times, probably. Amazing plot. Also, I want to see Bastards and Meatballs. Lol.
jennifers body for sure
Jennifer’s Body or Love Happens. I know, weird choices…
G.I Joe but I already saw that soooo…Love happens, I guess.
District 9 and Inglourious Basterds were fabulous, I’d see both again.
I watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs yesterday. My boyfriend really liked it, but I thought it was quite boring. lol, I think G.I. Joe was a better movie.
I heard Jennifer’s Body was actually not as good as people thought it would be.
@bundleoflisa - How was it?
1, 4, 7, 9, or 10.
I just got home from seeing ’9′ I thought it was pretty good. Really short and abstract, but I liked that in the movie.
@Mad_Ass_Hatter - I haven’t seen it, but I want to.
G.I. Joe! Hands down!
I’d totally go see Inglorious Basterds… again. It was epic.
I want to see District 9.
G.I Joe-the Rise of the Cobra
District 9.
9! We went to see it on Thursday – it was AMAZING!!
cloudy with a chance of meatballs..
None.
Inglourious Basterds
District 9 and Inglorious Basterds.
Jennifer’s body was alright.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs!!!!!!
The Informant, I suppose.
Dear Dan: Two good movies for kids. “District 9″ sounds okay, but the plot is familiar territory. Another romantic comedy from Jennifer Anniston… who stepped into Meg Ryan’s niche and will probably fade away there. The rest are either improbable plots built around an overrated A-lister or trashfilms that are already bombing at the box office. At least there’s less trash than usual in the Top Ten, but it’s also more light weight than usual. My suggestion: Stay home and do a little family bonding!
District 9
