It gets scary because I have to use two hands because of my full keyboard. But I’m pro. 8]
Yes
No but Alec does. tsk tsk.
No but then I don’t have a cell phone so I guess it doesn’t apply to me. lol
Guilty
No, I can’t drive.
Lazy, Dan. As usual.
Is this the crap that passes for a blog these days? How sad.
Guilty as charged. Generally I do it when I’m at a stop light or slowing down to one.
Nope.
Yep. I’m guilty of it. Incredibly dangerous, too–if someone else is in the car, I get them to text for me.
No.
Yes, I do once in a while if I’m stuck in traffic or something. I don’t need to look to do it. My fingers know where the keys are. Once in a while I mistype a word or send a text to the wrong person though.
No because I don’t have a car, but if I did I don’t think I would text – well, maybe.
Unfortunately, I have, yes. It was easier with my other phone because it wasn’t a touch screen. It’s now illegal in the state of MN anyway to text and drive.
No, I don’t text. But I do check emails on my iPhone while driving.
No, I only just passed my driving test in June, and my mum is a driving instructor, so she would never let me get away with that.
I will let you know when I do… if ever. Have you?
i text and check email while driving….i don’t recommend either
Only if I’m stopped at a traffic light, and alone in the car.
I text at stop lights and the occasional stop sign.
No, that’s pretty retarded.
I don’t drive, so no but my boyfriend did once and I got angry, he hasn’t done it since.
Nope. Too scared. It’s hard enough to keep my eyes on the road as is.
I don’t drive but if I did I wouldn’t text while driving. It is irresponsible and stupid to do that when your eyes should be on the road not on your phone. A woman in my town killed a 12 year old boy when she was texting while driving and ever since then the laws in this town have changed and anyone caught doing that gets a fine or worse. She was too busy texting and ran a red light resulting in the death of the boy who was crossing the road with his mother. It’s as bad as drunk driving or looking in the mirror to put make up on while driving or having something to eat when both hands should be on the steering wheel. If you need to text so bad then pull over or wait till you get to your destination. What is so important that you can’t wait to do that and in the process put others in danger?!? It is ridiculous!
We’ll, I’ve never driven, so that’s a no. But if I did, I’d be too afraid to text while I drove.
No, that would be impossible for me.
No cos I can’t drive anyway. I wouldn’t if I could its just too risky and a danger to one’s self and others
Nope. Coz I don’t know how to drive yet.
I have but it has always been the automated text that was on my cell phone like “I am on my way”or “where are you?”.
Wow, there are already quite a few comments and a lot of those the people don’t even drive….hmm. Is that because they are too young to drive or choose not to? Maybe you have lots of young readers…interesting.
Yes, i have texted. I don’t anymore.
nopee. although… i’ve only been driving for a week… haha
Yes, and on rare occasion I still do.
i havent. I cant even talk on the phone while driving. I can NOT multitask. But my friends do all the time and it freaks me out >.<
Guilty as charged.
I don’t like myself for it either, but it happens. I do try to do it while stopped, though.
wow. anyone who said yes is stupid and irresponsible and you don’t deserve to be driving. I hope you don’t kill anyone when you get into an accident because of your stupidity. but if you do, I hope you rot in jail
No, at red lights or other stops I will read them {lol iphone}, and rarely I will reply, unless I’m at a long light. As if the morons driving could get any more retarded, I suggest they stop trying to multi task until they learn to drive correctly, I swear they have the brain capacity of a rock.
Yes, and I really shouldn’t, because I’m not that good of a driver even when I’m paying attention.
i’ve only done it once or twice and it was at stop lights.
way more than i should.
no.
i used to all the time when i drove my old truck, it seemed easy to do in that vehicle. now with the new truck it’s impossible. no idea why there’s a difference.
Yep. Once you do it, you get the hang of it (sadly…) I try not to, though.
often. but then I can text with out having to look at the phone.
Yup! Tastes like chicken
No.
Only if I am stopped. Driving and texting is friggin irresponsible.
No, I haven’t. I text a lot.. but there are better times.
It’s my worst habit. Wasn’t so bad when I had an “old school” flip phone..had that puppy memorized so never had to look. Now with the Blackberry (which makes my thumbs seem giant), it’s a real problem. Among others.
You should only text while you are driving if you are confident enough to not look at what you are texting while you are texting it. (i.e. knowing the keys).
I do, and texting while I drive is no problem. My eyes stay on the road, and driving with one hand is EZ mode.
- John
It’s illegal where I live, and they charge you with “dangerous driving” or something of the sort if you’re caught talking on a cell phone without using a headset while you’re driving. Never done it.
I used to a lot, but then my girlfriend convinced me not to do that anymore. So now it’s only in emergencies, though I can pretty much text without looking at my phone.
and oh yeah, did you hear about how they’re making it illegal here? Up in Town and Country/Katy at the I10 and Beltway 8 intersection they have signs saying something like, “we’re watching you!”
@MyxlDove - texting is ridiculously hard to do on the iphone and i check my email while driving too =D
@ShamrockLover - I am 32 and disabled so can’t drive but even if I could I wouldn’t anyway. Just answering your question.
I used too. I never will again. haha.
Guilty as charged…although it’s always at a very low speeds and stops.
I don’t have a car…but I certainly don’t text while biking.
Once.
unfortunately…
yep when it’s just me and stopped at a light, stopped in traffic, or cruising along noone in sight on the interstate. I’m much more inclined to call than text though.
I don’t text. I don’t drive. :3
No…I haven’t driven a car in over 15 years.
Yes, all I do while driving is text, as I cannot go more that 1 second without constant interaction with my cell phone. Unfortunately I do not have the keys memorized and so I constantly look away from the road, but that’s ok because accidents only happen to other people and never to me.
Only at stop lights.
guilty. =/
yes
stop signs- red lights, parking lots, sitting in the garage instead of going in the house for a few moments of solitude
Parents’ would kill me and the law is just as punishable. No I don’t.
If I text while on the road, I pull over and do so.
I believe the penalty for texting and driving should be the same as drinking and driving.
I’ve only driven once…but i could see myself a texting driver…I just need to make sure my mom doesnt see that…
I am guiiiiiiilty…but I’m well on my way to quitting!
no. i heard that Vancouver will soon have a bylaw stating no texting/ talking on the phone while driving
Yes, but I try to wait until red lights.
stop lights only!
Yup guilty!
I don’t have a cell phone. But if I did I would not text or talk on the phone while driving. I’ve known too many people who’ve been in accidents caused by cell phones.
I think there’s better things to do when driving than texting and there’s better things to do while texting than driving. Seriously, what message is so urgent that it MUST be replied to while in a multi-ton vehicle?
I have but I really try not to.
I rarely text while driving, but, I also rarely text. Instead I’m often on my blackberry doing work stuff (having to pull over would cause me to have to pull over about every 10-15 minutes). That and I post to twitter quite often while driving, it’s when I do my best thinking!
no. and people who do it are…f**king stupid, to be honest. so many needless, preventable deaths.
Once, but I died so I’ll never do it again.
yes i have, but now it’s illegal to text in CA
Nope. My phone doesn’t even support that feature very well.
Can’t drive… yet. XD
Yes but I quit. I don’t want to be the cause of something bad.
I wouldn’t ever do that, and I ask people with whom I’m riding to stop if they do. Saying you only do it “sometimes” is like saying you only get plastered and drive “sometimes.” It’s incredibly dangerous, and I’m scared of cars as it is, so if you text and drive habitually and I know that, I won’t get in the car with you.
@ShamrockLover - I just choose not to. =) Can’t speak for anyone else though.
No, that’s dangous!
I’m guilty of having done this more than once, but it really is rare.
GAH THIS IS SO BAD! You should post this about texting while driving. Drunking driving is actually safer! There have been studies done with this. You lose 90% of your concentration while texting and driving. It makes me REALLY scared knowing people do this, and it’s mostly younger people that are less experienced at driving.
@missdoya - I wish they would do that everywhere. It’s worse than drunk driving.
@greenbird321 - so true! I saw an episode of Dr. Phil (don’t laugh, it can be good, haha) and he had a mom on there…her kid was killed by someone texting and driving.

This is one thing I’m totally against. Some idiot almost hit me because she was texting i wish they would make a law for texting while driving.
of course… knee driving
oh no I don’t do that…I answer the phone with this phrase “this had better be a life or death phone call or it will be.
