  • Reading

If you could have everyone read one book, what book would you want them to read?

  • For The Love of The Post – Why Did We Stay?

With others leaving and watching Xanga decline over the last few years, we can’t help but to ask ourselves, “Why did we stay?”

Why did we stay with the xanga community while others left?  What is it about us or perhaps xanga that has caused us to log on every night while others have migrated to other networks?

I want to suggest the reason is for the love of the post.

Whether you get one or two comments or you get 100 comments on each post, we all enjoy that moment when we sit down in front of the computer to once again put our bright idea out or empty our soul
on to the blog.  At some level, the blog represents a phase in our lives.

We sit down in front of that computer one more time to place the thoughts out to the xanga community.

Sometimes that thought will be simple.  Sometimes that thought will be sad.  We have shared with one another the dying of our closest relatives.  We have shared pregnancies.  We have shared marriages.  We have shared divorces.  We have shared moments of great happiness and extreme depression. We have shared weight loss and weight gain.  We have come off medication and addictions.

At times after surgery when we should have been resting, we crawled over to our computer and carefully typed in our password and barely seeing the screened with our altered vision we typed the words “I made it through.”

    Why?

For the love of the post.

  • Smoking Part 2

Would you ever start dating someone who actively smoked?

  • Smoking

I am 37-years-old and yet I have never smoked a cigarette.

    Have you ever smoked?

  • Basketball

It looks like all the hard work is paying off in working with my oldest son.  We have been taking hundreds of basketball shots each night.

He is only a freshman in high school and he is the only freshman that has been asked to work out with the Juniors and Seniors.  This is still only preseason conditioning but it is a great step forward.

What would you consider to be your strongest sport?

  • Forced to Give Up Your Baby

A woman is being forced to give up her baby even though she is 8 months pregnant.

The pregnant mother was given the wrong embryos at an IVF clinic.  So the baby was not her baby.

The women decided to carry the baby even though she found out the baby was not her baby early in the pregnancy.  It is against the woman’s religious beliefs to get an abortion.  Here is the link:  Link

Would you carry the baby if you knew you would have to legally give the baby up?

  • Makeup

I was driving in my car the other day with my wife and on the radio they were talking about the age a girl should begin to wear makeup.

This is a decision my wife and I will have to make with your youngest some day.

One of the people on the radio said that ten was a good age.  A guy called in to the radio station and he said 15 was the best age.

What is the best age to allow a girl to begin to wear makeup?

  • A Woman’s Place In the Home

Have you noticed that most women don’t say they want to be a homemaker?  I read a post tonight that was titled “I want to be a perfect housewife.”  Here is the link:  Link

But for the most part, it appears most women are preparing to compete for a career.  Or if they have a desire to stay at home, you don’t hear very many women saying it is their goal.

Guys:  Do you want your wife to be a housewife?

Ladies:  Do you have it as your goal to be a housewife?
