Cremated. It’s less of a financial burden on the family.
bury me!
I’d rather be cremated, but not put in an urn. I’m a fan of the idea of a funeral pyre.
Cremate me and spread my ashes on Kate Beckinsdale.
Neither, I’m actually going to donate my body to science.
I’d rather have a bunch of immature teenagers hack apart my body.
cremated. bury me at sea.
Urn…like The Undertaker!
Coffin.
Cremated.
Can I be mummified instead?
Not something I have given any considerations to. Whatever is cheapest or makes the survivors happiest. I certainly don’t care.
I am not sure but I am leaning toward being cremated like carolinaatnight said its much less of a financial burden. My Grandpa was.
Mummify me. If I can’t be a mummy, which I will not be able to be, I’ll just let the people I left behind choose for me. I’ll be dead, I can’t see why I’d even have the right to choose, as it won’t change a thing for me, but might for my relatives. It’s like asking straight people their opinion on gay marriage. It doesn’t affect you, so it’s silly to ask for it.
i rather be buried in yo ass, bitch.
I want to be cremated and put in bottle rockets and fired into the air… I want to go out with a bang.
Cremated…embalming is gross in my opinion.
Neither. Donate my ass to science.
I want to be burned, then have my ashes thrown and spread out as far as possible to ensure that I can “feel” like I’ve made an impact in polluting the Earth.
You know, because I just wanna help kill the planet and all.
It’s against my religion to be cremated…
Neither. Rocket me into space.
I’ll be dead. I don’t think I care. At least…I don’t think I do…
They can cremate me, I don’t want my family to have to fork out a bunch of money.
It dosent matter, ashes to ashes, dust to dust. I was nothing before and I will leave nothing.

(Pretty sure that means creamated.)
I am donating my body to science they will take what they need then cremate the rest.
I want to have a funeral much like Spock did. I think traveling the universe in a plastic see through coffin, landing on a mysterious planet chosen for the Genesis project and then being reborn, sounds really freaking amazing. or what @weakerlink talked about. Kate is a goddess. =O
Cremated. The whole idea of decomposing, developing “grave wax”, etc. just makes me ill.
@Rob_of_the_Sky - Me too. Sounds like fun. That or I want to be donated to science.

Cremated. I don’t want to rise from the grave tyvm, and I don’t like maggots.

i have actually given that some thought. i want to be cremated and my ashes scattered at sea , preferably off the southern coast of florida on to a reef.
@odiada - good answer !………….cough, cough …………….me too !

i *want* to be thrown on a large ant pile… since I doubt that is legal I want my body to go to the body farm, if that can’t happen cremate me and throw the ashes to the wind
Neither thanks. Not dead yet.
I used to work in a funeral directors, this was part of doing my NVQ for IT, I was asked to test out a coffin and was not very comfortable.
I know being half buried and half creamated will be a no no.
Harvest my organs, donate me to science, and cremate whatever can’t be used. And then, please, scatter my ashes. I do not want my remains kept. I do not want people visiting my grave site. I don’t want that at all. There are other ways to honor and remember a person.
Burning is the way for me! I love that urn by the way
Cremated.
I really don’t care. But, since it is much much cheaper to cremate, that just might be the best rout!
Neither. It’s too expensive to bury a rotting carcass in the dirt. I’m gonna donate my body or just write in my will that I want to be buried wherever the hell would be the most convenient and the most cheap.
Donate my body to science. I dont need to take up any more space than I already do. Use me and then burn me, please.

Me thinks… I will cremate myself one day. Pyromania will get the better of me, you heard it here first.
Just cut me open, insert a stick of dynamite, and then do what you will with the pieces of me lying all over the place.
Cremated.
Burn me up and don’t keep the ashes – scatter them somewhere beautiful for me.
Buried beside the love of my life and we’d have a bench for our tombstone. Only reason I would be cremated would so I don’t be buried alive. If cremated, I want my ashes to be poured down the mississippi river so I live on forever.

I’ve donated my organs if they’re still any good when I die. I’ve donated my body to a university. Once they’re done, they cremate their cadavers.
Cremated. Takes up less space.
(Wait, which is cheaper?!)
cremated. I don’t want to take up a bunch of space in a coffin, and I definitely don’t want people looking at my dead body.
Cremated and sprinkled in my garden. Use me for fertilizer!
The idea of teenagers hacking me up sounded pretty creative.

I shall bring back the Viking Funeral.
Give my inside away. Burn me up and throw me away, I have a small list of place I want some of my ashes to be dumped. When that is done if my family needs it, they can take some ashes and bury them somewhere so they can come visit and leave flowers and all that.

So, if anyone wants to “visit” where my body was laid to rest, they can just walk the woods.
Some days I want to donate my body to the MOSI bodies exhibit (if they still do it when I die…) because my body would be pretty awesome to see (I have a lot of titanium pins and rods going down my spine). And I want to be propped up like I’m bowling.
Other days, I want to be cremated.
Buried, so when I return as a zombie for the apocalypse I’ll be in one piece.
Please, please, please, tell me that you’ve read Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach. I’d like to say that I’m very pro-humanitarian and philanthropic, and that I’d want to be used for cadaver research, but I don’t know if I’d actually go through with it in the will process.
This is something I have always struggled in deciding. On one hand, I want to be cremated and scattered across a place (not sure where just yet) that I love. On the other hand, I want to be buried next to my husband and kids. Hopefully I have plenty of time to make a choice. :c
Coffin is a waste of space… by the time we’re old and grey there wont be any room left anyway. Donate then cremate.

I’d rather be buried so future family members can see that I existed.
I love how most of these people are making a joke of the answer, lol.
Plant me under a tree somewhere.
No headstone. Just the tree.
A gross!
Are you unaware of the other methods of burial? The ones that are thousands of years old and the new ones that serve to enhance the world? A simple search of “burial methods” in any engine or the wiki would list them. I think sky burial is unique and interesting. Compassionate cannibalism is a bit dangerous. But resomation and methods that increase the rate of decay are very interesting. But then I do have a soft spot for burials at sea too.
But it is understandable that a one or the other approach is given here.
I’d say cremation, only because it’s generally cheaper than burial. But, if it were not a question of cost, I’d like to be buried above ground. I know that sounds weird. But, like my grandmother, I am a little bit paranoid (although she was REALLY paranoid) of being buried alive even though I know it is almost impossible in modern America if all regular procedures are followed.
I also would rather not have an autopsy performed if it is unnecessary. O.o;; So, if I don’t die under mysterious/questionable circumstances, I would rather not be sliced up and have my internal organs removed. Even if they are replaced later. o.o
I intend (though haven’t the money for a lawyer to draw up papers and whatnot) to have a DNR set up. And I may even consider having a tattoo on my chest somewhere easily seen that says DNR. Because, if there is an emergency there may not be time to look for the paperwork to prove that I don’t want to be brought back should I stop breathing or my heart stops.
Whether cremated or buried, I do know that I want a headstone put up in Edgewood Cemetery at my home town. That way, whoever may want to can go to a specific place. I never thought it was that important…until both of my grandparents passed away. They were cremated, and my grandmother’s ashes were scattered. My grandfather’s haven’t been returned to us, yet. However, it upsets me that I do not have anywhere I can go to lay flowers on special days, or just to where I can feel less like an idiot speaking to them and telling them things. I hope to one day have enough money to have a large headstone put up in that same cemetery to mark a place for the both of them. But the stone, plus the engraving, plus the plot itself is all very costly and I will certainly have to wait. If I get that done, I would like to at least have a headstone of my own put up right next to theirs.
They were more like my parents than my own mother and father. It would just give me peace of mind. And I don’t want anyone to have to feel the way I do about my grandparents, not having a place to do those things for me, if anyone would (I’ve never asked anyone, so I wouldn’t know, but I’m sure at least my mother might ). So, I would at least like to leave enough money behind for cremation and for a plot, headstone and the engraving of said headstone. I would likely buy a plot for myself long before I pass away. It’s not uncommon for people to do that, as far as I know. :p
My family thinks I’m morbid for thinking along these lines, though, because I’m only 23. :p
