My husband has 4 tattoo’s … I only really like 2 of them [since the two on his back is one of "PennyWise" from "It" and the other is some acid-trip looking Wizard] but the other two say alot about him and I think it just tells people who he is at a glance. I don’t think tattoo’s add or take away but people who get tattoo’s to attract other people are kind of lame anyways. I thought tattoo’s were supposed to be meaningful to the person wearing it.
Adds – as long as it isn’t overdone. I am not a fan of “sleeves” or gaudy material. Instead, I like to know if there is a meaning behind what the person has chosen.
I generally don’t think the body makes a great art canvas, but I’m OK with the occasional ink done well and put in an unobtrusive location. Wouldn’t say it ADDS to hotness, per se.
detracts
Depends distinctly on the tattoo. It detracts if it is a cliche: barbed wire, a fairy, a butterfly, a tribal tattoo, flames, skulls, dolphins, hearts, stars, horseshoes, clovers or blue moons.
But can add if it is original and meaningful, or a tattoo dedicated to someone, OR is really artistically done.
There are exceptions to both of these rules. However, the vast majority of the time, I am neutral to tattoos.
Basically its neutral. Tattoos will not make the unsexy sexy and they can screw up your looks if you over do them. So do it if you like it, but it does not help your looks at all
I have a butterfly on my hip and it looks really cute when I’m on the beach.
IDK but that girls back tatoo sure is hot to me.
My girlfriend has ‘em. I don’t have any.
Personally I think a guy with tat is a total turn on
depends on the place the person and the tat.
but if i’m going to generalize i’m going to say that tattoos are sexy as hell.
skin is hot and so are tatoos. so both <3
It depends a lot on the person, and the tattoo.
I only like tattoos when they have meaning behind them. I hate when people just get random designs, especially designs that a lot of people get. It’s not personal that way. They’re so much better when they tell a story about you.
I love me a tattooed boy, that’s for sure. But not just A tattoo or two… I like ‘em covered.
Tattoos won’t make you hotter, but…
Ah hell, yes they will.
Takes away for me….a lot of them seem so trashy
Oh yeah, that tattoo is going to look really good when you’re 80.
I hate tattoos, I wouldnt care if my SO had one as long as it didn’t have my name on it! D: Oh & its not on their face or anything.
Depends on the person and the number/type of tatoo(s)
It all depends on the location and what it is. I prefer simple, subtle tattoos over Megan Fox like tattoos.
I don’t like tattoos very much.
Depends on the design of the tattoo. As an artist, I value detailed, creative, and innovative designs, rather than a simple working of stars as in the first picture, and the tribal tattoo in the second one isn’t particularly eye-catching. They are pretty basic. Nevertheless, I don’t usually like tattoos and they’re not terribly attractive in my opinion. They often end up looking very gaudy.
Depends on the person, depends on the tattoo. With the two examples you posted, no they don’t.
It can, but it totally depends on what the tattoo is of and where it is.
Takes away. I just plain do not like them.
It really depends on where and how many. Most guys wear them well, but not all. A girl can overdo it…
There are a lot of things that could change this answer, but generally I think it adds.
Definitely depends. You should have people send you pics of their tats next. That is one I would send you a pic of! ((wink!))
Off topic but that is the most creative tattoo I have ever seen. As for attractiveness, it all depends on where.
the right tattoo adds.. the wrong tattoo most certainly detracts.
those tattoos were god aweful but good tattoos add. ugly tribal, jap symbols and tramp stamps fail
depends where and how much. if its one or two, it addss
@lauracake - Lol, everyone looks bad when they’re old. Wrinkles, liver spots – I’d pick tattoos over liver spots!
I love tattoos – but only well done tattoos with good meaning behind them. A well done well placed tattoo is a big boost in the attractiveness department for me.
@whitetrashpoet - Well I just mean, people get tatttoos that don’t mean anything to them and they will regret it later… : and some people actually don’t look bad old! Honestly!
I think that all depends on each person and how they perceive those with tattoos. For me, it depends on what the person has, where, and how much. Usually, I find tatts on someone to be pretty hot, but too many aren’t attractive, to me. Some, however, would disagree.
DETRACTS.
Depends. For the most part I find tattoos quite appealing…but sometimes people just get fucked up ugly shit.
@lauracake - Well I agree, everyone with a Twilight tattoo is going to feel real silly in the senior center, haha.
Depends on the person/tattoo/place of tattoo/number of tattoos
I see a lot of aged tattoos on agedcbodies. They don’t age well. They look like bizarre bruises. People need to go get them touched up as their body changes.
depends on the tattoo and where it is
if it’s a good tattoo it adds. I like the top one on the girl. It just totally depends on the tattoo, some are ugly as well, but I like to see good ink on my guy, that’s sexy.
ok.. that guy (i think it’s my baby vin) looks hot with or without tattos… to me it’s permanent make up, and we all know that make up accentuates beauty and should not hide ugliness.. unless a girl has stretch marks and wants to cover them up with tattoos… idk… that guy is hot!!
It makes no real difference to me. When I look for hotness it isn’t a matter of superficial things like tats.
For the most part, I think it adds. I come from a family where my brother was a tattoo artist, and my brother, sister, sister in law and brother in law all have extensive tattoos and piercings, so it’s what I’m used to seeing as beautiful.
However, the tat has to be meaningful and not tacky. Obscene tats= not attractive.
It depends on if the person’s personality and body can carry it off, if it’s tastefully done, and (let’s face it) how old the tattoo is. What was a kitten on one’s bum might not be so cute after 40 years…
adds.
us modified folks are so much more fun to see nekkid!
…That second pic is sexy, period… o_O
Ahem. It depends. A nice, artistic tattoo can really accentuate a guy’s atmosphere. A lousy or plain tattoo can make him look like he just had a stint in jail.
Hah, guess I got your message a bit too late!
I’m a bit hypocritical in this since I have a fair amount of tattoos, but I generally don’t like tattoos on women. On men, it depends on what it is and where. I’m not a fan of generic out-of-the-book tattoos in general, but can appreciate something meaningful and unique. I’ve designed all my tattoos and they all have significance to me.
No freaking way! tattoos suck.
I don’t have one, I think there look ugly, it all depending where the tattoo is.
I don’t think it subtracts from a person’s attractiveness necessarily, but it really depends on the person. I’ve seen men with full sleeves done and thought “wow, that’s just him and I dig it” but if I see it on another man it does nothing for me and I might even dislike it. Eh, go figure. But the tattoos above are hawt! Just saying…
adds on certain people.
Depends on the person. I’m heavily tattooed and my girlfriend will never get any. I like her without them.
well before i got the dot on my finger, i was skinny and boys kicked sand in my face and my cat hated me. but after the tiny blue dot was added, i gained weight and no one kicked sand in my face and my cat loves me. so everyone should be like me. HOTTTTT!!!
i think too much takes away but tatts can be used to accent or add something nice, if it’s done well. also depends on the person.
@whitetrashpoet - Yeah exactly. Or a kitty cat on your butt is awful silly when you’re 80.
Depends on how many tatoos and where they are. I think too many detracts, but a few well placed pieces of body art can be very attractive!
I think tattoos take away from the person’s true beauty. I’m not attracted to them anymore. I got one on my back and I never see it but I am more attracted to natural all over men. No piercings, no tattoos.
i think it depends on a lot of aspects.
To see a big chubby girl with that first tattoo would only accentuate the umm…rolls, per say.
I think on the right person it adds a level of confidence and personal taste.
It could add, for my personal preferences. Depends on the guy, really. I’d be totally turned on if my hubby got a tattoo, as long as it wasn’t something weird or stupid (like those curvy girl silouhettes…yeah, NO.). But seeing a tattoo doesn’t automatically make me attracted to someone. It does make me curious about them, however, and I guess that’s worth something. It definitely draws my attention, negative or positive.
If I ever found a good reason, I would definitely get one myself. ~V
Yo, Dan– do YOU have any tattoos??
The longer you have it, the stupider it looks.
Depends on the tattoo and the person.
Tattoos translate to, “I am not a prude.”
The clarification generally adds to hotness, I think.
minus. because i tend to see long term… and thus when we are old and saggy, it’s gross. it’s like if a girl has a butterfly tatt, and in 30 years the butterfly will be fluttering everywhere and flapping its wings. helllzzz nah.
i think…good bod +good tattoo=hot.
-_-
It depends on the the design, size, and location of the tattoo.
adds! unless they’re shitty. then, you’re stupid for letting a bad artist put something permanent on your body.
depending on the tattoo and where they place it, it can be hot!!! i <3 tattoo’s
Takes away. I mean i want to you see you and not a decorated version of yourself…its kinda like makeup
Depends on the tattoo and the person.
I prefer stick-on and henna so I’m not stuck for life.
It depends on the tattoo and the location, but i usually am a huge fan of tats.
It really depends. Some tats look trashy while some are tasteful.
Totally depends on the tattoo. If you get something random then it detracts. If you get something that reflects your personality in a flattering place, then it adds to the sexiness.
takes away. no matter what, no matter who.
takes away.
i have many opinions on this. i think tattoos are way way to trendy. everyones got them so why are they cool anymore. i also thing the tattoo sleeves are retarted and tatts on the necks are skanky. but there are some really cool well placed tatts that do look awesome. but some get carried away and over do the whole tattoo thing
Ink on a Man equals me licking his tatts Eyebrow ring equals me dry humping his face.
It really depends on location, size, style, and body type… for example, Megan Fox’s Marilyn Monroe tattoo = not attractive at all… but I tend to love tattoos… My fiance has four… and I think it’s hot.
it depends on the tattoos like on david beckham, rihanna megan fox i think its hot for example I don’t like tattoes on tila tequila’s arm/shoulder though. its a bit too much for me. it depends on tattoos and where its at to as well.
oh and angelina jolie is hot too
i’m generally neutral to tattoos, except that I am not a person that thinks they detract from a person’s overall attractiveness. I think a well placed, well designed work of art affixed to a person’s body is a beautiful work of art, and if it compliments the location on a person’s body, so much so the better. Tattoos are art, tho… either that or they have distinct meaning, such as gang and tribe related tattoo work. They are not supposed to be there to make a person “hot” or “not”… if that’s what you think you are missing the point entirely.
I’m pretty sure they operate independantly
@belle_figlie - His back, is quite lovely lol tattoo or no tattoo.
it depends…a friend of mine has this gaudy almost cartoonish dragon on her lower leg. It is completely unattractive.
I have tats myself–only 2 are visible, and even then only if I want them to be.
to each his / her own, but i think they should be given a little more thought in some locations. i’ve seen some which i’m sure will be regretted later in life. personally i have one on my penis that reads “eat at thaddeus kalezewski’s restaurant, chattanooga, tennessee” !
It depends. :
Ohhhhhhh so adds. I love a man that can rock sleeve tattoos. SERIOUSLY.
Depends…….
Unattractive. I think it is a current fad that people will regret in later years.
i have a robot tattoo and i love it. my foot long scar going down my stomach is kind of like a tattoo. battle wounds.
It depends. That guy’s back looks very yummy. The arm tattoo ruins it, though: too much. The girl’s isn’t nice, either, in my eyes. I think a little, simple tattoo on a guy’s arm/shoulder/chest is hot. But when I see a guy who has his arm covered top to bottom with tattoos, then it’s not cool at all. Same with girls. I’d like a cute one on my ankle or something, but I wouldn’t cover my body with those things.
i love tattoos, i just cant stand the tacky ones people tend to get. If they have legit reasoning behind them then I am for it. I have two, one on my lower back and one on my upper. Ill post pics of them tonight!
I’m sexually indifferent about it, but I do think tattoos express a certain aggressiveness/confidence of personality.
I mean, one would have to be pretty confident to decide on a piece of artwork they’d want to have on themselves forever.
makes it unnatural
if the tattoo is ugly or trendy.
xo
Depends where/what it’s of… But generally it adds to hottness.
LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!
takes away
Depends what they’re advertising or where they’re seen, what they’re wearing. If they have to style and everything for it, it totally adds to the attractiveness.
But I think it’s just weird to see people wearing Abercomby with a tattoo. Doesn’t work.
@trunthepaige - That’s my opinion exactly. I guess it also depends on what the tattoo is but even good tattoos can be overdone.
It’s a personal thing. I love skin, I think skin is beautiful. Skin’s beauty can be accented or obfuscated by ink, it depends on the skin and the location. It depends also on the person. A surprise tattoo on someone you wouldn’t expect to have a tattoo can be…enticing depending on the circumstances. However, it can also be jarring if the tattoo is simply the wrong one. Bottom line, having something inked into one’s skin is an extraordinarily personal thing and should not be done lightly, and so it must be designed from every angle possible to make it as cool as possible to accent what that person wishes to accent.
Yeah, I’ll get off of my soapbox now.
Depends on the tattoo. Some are very distastful, some are eloquent and gorgeous. I like to think mine are hot, but some are just damn tacky.
Location and design are key, but if someone asked and didn’t tell me what it was or where it’d be, I’d say no.
it depends.
I think it adds attractiveness if they have a great reason for the tattoo. I think getting inked just to get inked is silly.
All depends on what the tattoo is, but I find tattoos to be very attractive.
For me it depends, just like anything else. If the ink is done really well, has a nice location and compliments the person I’ll be more attracted…but if it’s a rushed/myfriendisatattooartist/wall graphic, I’ll be extremely turned off. I don’t like a lot of color either.
I have a very attractive friend…who had the great idea of letting her friend tattoo her back. Absolutely horrible. The worst tattoos I’ve probably ever seen. Random and spaced out, ugh it’s horrible. I almost want to sneak a picture they are so bad
As long as they are not on the face, lower arms, or legs I don’t really mind them; Not sure I would say they make a guy ‘hotter’ though. If a person is HOT, then they are…
subtracts!
It either detracts or has no effect (not bad nor good). Never adds. IMO, tattoos usually don’t decrease a person’s appeal but, I’ve never found them to increase. If they are bad quality, poorly placed, or landscape a large area they are unsightly and deminish attraction. I don’t have anything specifically against tattoos really, just not something I’m into. I may find the tattoo itself to be beautiful standing alone as a piece of art but, I don’t equate that to the person. Paint doesn’t make a canvas beautiful. We all know the canvas is merely a blank scape for the “art” to be applied on. I see skin the same way. Ink can cover the skin but, doesn’t become it. The body and the art upon it remain seperate in my mind. I have no intention to live as a canvas, showcasing the work of another. Maybe thats just me.
stars are so tacky and boring.
It depends on what the tattoo is of.
I don’t find them hot at all.
Tattoos are like blogs, and, like blogs, their asthetic value is going to be deeply intertwined with the audience’s world view and the wearer.
I can’t think of any tattoos without meaning that can make someone more hot. I do, however, get the sense that all tattoos are tangible manifestations of the wearer’s character – which can increase that person’s attractiveness.
it’s okay but when you get older, it’s going to leave a unappealing mark~
of course, it depends. but in general it adds to one’s attractiveness. my boyfriend loves mine, thats good enough for me.
eh…depends. on some people tatoos make them look soooo much better but on others it makes them look like a hag…
Not really… I like them.
Personally, I didn’t get sleeved thinking it would make me more attractive, if anything I assumed the opposite but it does make people feel more comfortable just coming up to me and talk to me and TOUCH my arm (which I hate).
Just enough like these pictures are definitely HOT… but too much where you can’t even tell what the tattoo is anymore is NOT.
Takes away.
Hep. C is very attractive.
I think tattoos are hot in general. :] Most of them…I, personally, don’t find a naked women with her legs open sexy.
Tattoos on a woman are definitely a detraction. They indicate a general trampiness and lack of sophistication.
I think it definitely depends on the Tattoo. I’ve seen really intelligent and thought provoking ones and I’ve seen some that are so ludicrous the people who got them should be forbidden from having children. Also depends on the person…
Depends on what and where. I like them tasteful. ♥
totally adds but those r crappy tattoo examples.
It all depends on the tattoo! But, I don’t really believe that tattoos enhance or diminish a person’s attractiveness.
they sure add to hotness for some… but for others, it’s distracting from whatever hotness they might have without one. i don’t think you ever know ahead of time.
ADDS ADDS ADDS.
I absolutely love tattoos. I personally don’t have any, YET.but I just think they add so much to a person.Something about them is just amazing.I personally find tattoos a turn on. I feel naked because i don’t have any.Whenver i see people covered, in a bathing suit.I just love it. To me it’s art, that you can bring everywhere with you, and its beautiful.
Depends on what and where – I have nine and love them all!
It depends on who has tatoo? you can never judge a book by its cover.
I’d say it depends entirely on where/what the tattoo is. But for the most part yeah, they do add to a person’s attractiveness in my opinion.
totally, utterly destroys hotness
takes away
ADDS!!! I think Kat Von D is one of the sexiest women ever.
sure, it can adds…until you get old and wrinkly then I think it subtracts exponentially…
I won’t discuss the hottness of others, but if my husband got one, I would think it would detract from his attractiveness. Though he will always be attractive to me no matter what.
It all depends on the design and where they put it.
depends on the person and the tattoo. If it’s a bro with a lame tattoo like those stupid IDGAF shit, it takes away. Well, actually, bring a bro itself takes away… everything xD.
My personal option is that if you want them fine. Keep them where I can’t se them. I will not hire a guy for sales who has them on his neck or arms. Its to trashy. Girls with tattoos and they like to show them… TRAMP STAMP.
A well-done and well-placed tattoo adds enormously to hotness points; in a purely physical sense of course. There are many other ways to make oneself more attractive.
adds. I LOVE tattoos
Depends on the tat.
Depends on the tattoo really… I don’t find they make people any better looking, but they can certainly detract from your looks (in my opinion, anyway) if you overdo it
Just remember, a tat is an eleventh fingerprint…
Depends on what and where, because I wouldn’t be all over a guy with naked women all over his arm.
It depends on the person’s physique / and personality to go with them. Your examples are awesome!
I think I can do without…
depend on if its stupid or done well and a lot of other factors
Hahaha, it quite obviously depends.
to me, it depends on the location and body type.
Detracts, if you’re a decent Christian. But makeup does too.
It depends on where and what it is.

BTW, that dude has a hot back. i have a thing for backs.. it’s like my favorite body part, almost
and.. FIRST, bitches.
location location location.
Def. adds…it depends on the tat. I think the more meaningful the more it adds.
As a rule, I think it detracts enormously; pointless, ostentatious, and distracting.
But then I’ve known really really hot women with tattoos who…works just fine for.
I don’t know about hotness but I love to see ink.
i generally love body art -however, I did not find either tattoos you presented terribly attractive.
addddddddddddddds
lol, received a tattoo. sounds like they unwrapped it as a birthday gift or something

minus. because i tend to see long term… and thus when we are old and saggy, it’s gross. it’s like if a girl has a butterfly tatt, and in 30 years the butterfly will be fluttering everywhere and flapping its wings. helllzzz nah.
i think…good bod +good tattoo=hot.
-_-
It depends on the the design, size, and location of the tattoo.
adds!
unless they’re shitty. then, you’re stupid for letting a bad artist put something permanent on your body.
depending on the tattoo and where they place it, it can be hot!!! i <3 tattoo’s
…
Depends on the person and the ink being done.
@Xcholo4u - Says you.
I think tats detract from the beautiful skin you were born with. That’s just my preference.

Ink on a Man equals me licking his tatts
Eyebrow ring equals me dry humping his face.
@DarkDestiny666 - HAHA. that last part. ha.
they sure add to hotness for some… but for
others, it’s distracting from whatever hotness they might have without
one. i don’t think you ever know ahead of time.
Blogs are so informative where we get lots of information on any topic. Nice job keep it up!!I wish you good luck!
