Month: November 2009

  • $3.6 Billion

Adding 35,000 troops to Afghanistan will cost $3.6 billion per month for us taxpayers.  Here is the link:  Link

Would you rather the $3.6 billion a month be spent in Afghanistan or here in the U.S.?

  • Do You Follow the Expiration Dates?

Imagine for a moment that you are checking the fridge for something to drink.

Now imagine that the milk is one day past the expiration date.

    Would you drink the milk?

  • Save Your Son or Your Spouse?

I found this issue on fark.com.  A man came down a road following his wife and son in the car.

The car with his wife and son went off the road and was sinking in the water.  He had to decide to save his wife or to save his son.  He saved his wife and his son died.  Here is the link:  Link

  • What Happened to All the War Protesters?

I was watching a video of Cindy Sheehan protesting at a military base.

Cindy lost her son in the war in Iraq and became a symbol for the left and their opposition against the war.  She is also protesting the war in Afghanistan.  She stuck a mic in a veteran’s face and yelled at him.  You can check out the video.  He slapped the mic away from her.  Here is the link:  Link

I have a hard time speaking against Cindy because she lost her son in a war and I think that her pain has caused her to go to an extreme.  But the one thing about Cindy is that she is consistent.  She is against the U.S. going to war.

It is odd that all the Democrats that were against the war are gone.

Clearly we are sending more troops to Afghanistan.  It sounds like about 30,000-35,000.

Are the Democrats inconsistent for not protesting the war in Afghanistan?

  • Tiger Woods and Domestic Abuse

TMZ is reporting that Tiger Woods received his injuries to his face from his wife and not from his car accident.

According to their source, his wife confronted him about “reports that he was seeing another woman.”  After arguing, she scratched his face.  He then got in his car and she struck the vehicle with a golf club.  Here is the link:  Link

Obviously we don’t know what happened.  I wonder how the media will cover the story and whether they will blame her or him if any of this is true.

I was a medical photographer in the military and I had to take photos of spousal abuse situations.  I had to take photos of women all the time but I did take photos of men who had been abused.  It is interesting that a man generally has to be seriously injured in order to report domestic abuse.

I have a general theory that women are just as violent as men but they do not have the power to carry out their violence.  So most of them know it is unwise to even come at a guy with a club because in most situations they will still lose that battle.  In other words, I do not believe that men are more violent than women but men are just stronger for the most part.

Do you think men are biologically more violent than women?

  • Creepiest Santa

My daughter no longer believes in Santa.  She is about to turn six in January.  We were watching a program tonight and the people were hiding gifts under the Christmas tree and she knew that we were doing the same.

We told our first two kids there was no Santa but we decided to lie to the third one and see if she still turned out ok.  We will keep you updated as this little experiment progresses.

Here are some creepy Santa photos I found on this site:  Link

    2.  Santa Two

    3.  Santa Three

    4.  Santa Four

  • Robotic Hamster

Every year, an item becomes so popular at Christmas time that people are willing to fight to get the last item.

This year it may be the robotic hamster.  It is being reported that two fights broke out in Indiana for the toy.  When the toy is placed on the shelves, it is gone in ten minutes according to a store manager at Toys R Us.  Here is the link:  Link

So are you going shopping today?

  • My Birthday With a Photo of Me

I turned 38 today.  I am now halfway to 76 years old.  The average age a person lives to in the U.S. is 78 and women bring up the average.  So I am probably halfway to my death.

It is probably time for a midlife crisis but once again this year I am not up for it.

My hair is turning gray.  I took a special photo of it here for you.

Do you think it is right when they say men look better with gray hair?

  • Breaking the Texting Code

I was just reading an article that was designed to help parents understand what their children were texting.

    banana

As I was looking at the text codes I was noticing that even though I knew some of them that most of them never show up in my IM conversations.  It leads me to believe that my friends are not very exciting texters or IMers.  Here is the link:  Link

Here are the codes that parents are instructed to pay special attention to:

    1          8                                 Oral sex

    2          PAW                           Parents Watching

    3          143                             I love you

    4          182                             I hate you

    5          KPC                             Keeping Parents Clueless

6          LMIRL                          Lets meet in real life

    7          420                             Marijuana

    8          ADR                            Address

    9          ASL                             Age/Sex/Location

    10        Banana                        Penis

How many of the codes have you actually had in a text or IM conversation?
