Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and Sarah Palin. Clinton is a senator but Pelosi is the speaker of the house. I’m pretty sure that the speaker of the house is the next step below the vice president. But I don’t know exactly how it works…

@CelestialTeapot - Well, it’s the Speaker, then the President Pro Tempor (basically the longest serving Senator of the majority party). Yeah, it’s designed that way because they are democratically elected, as appointed like the cabinet members. Though at one point in time the cabinet members followed the president and vp in the line of succession (if that were the case today, women number 2 would be the correct answer to Dan’s question).

@mangotini - Um, yeah. Regardless of someone’s political leanings, it’s really scary and eye-opening when you realize (in cases like this) that people are clueless. I think that has a big hand with all that’s wrong with this country.
You don’t have to be so engaged that you watch political commentary all the time or every time someone makes a speech, but man, I wish people would at least know who’s running this country and in control of our lives!
