At the moment… I live with my mom. My dad lives with his wife and kids. I prefer living with my mom.

DAD! Fo sho. He is much more lenient and understanding. My mom is pretty strict. Im 20 and she still wants me home by 10, snoops around and doesn’t like me going to the beach on weekends because “all the crazy people go there”.
My dad basically agrees that as long as my responsibilities (school and work) are seen to, and I’m not out getting into trouble that who cares. He says you’re only a kid once and I should live it up. of course, I think everyday partying would irritate him but partying on weekends sounds reasonable to me. Im not much of a partier anyways.
Basically: my dad gives me space to live. I appreciate that.

Dad for sure, but I need full independence eventually.
Mom as long as I’m trying, she wont charge me rent or stuff like that. Trying=working/school or both. I still chip in for some things & buy my food though.

When I was a child, my mom used to ask me “If you were on a boat, and suddenly me and daddy fell off, who would you save first, if you could only save one?”
I cried (HEY, I WAS A KID, SHUT UP) because I didn’t like thinking about losing either of them.

I love my dad and I appreciate him but we have opposite views on almost everything (religion, politics, you name it) and if we are together in the car for more than 2 minutes or if he answers the phone when I call home, it becomes painfully obvious that we have NOTHING to talk about and it gets awkward fast. My mom is one of my best friends and I would never have that problem with her.
Mom. My dad and I are both too alike and too different to be able to live together without having blow-up fights every few weeks.
very interesting question. and, you know, had you asked me when i was a teen and young adult, i would’ve definitely said my dad. but now, i don’t know. my dad’s kind of flaky like me. my mom’s very organized and responsible. i can’t be completely sure now. and my mom’s an awesome cook. hmm…intellectual stimulation and footbal talk (my dad) or my mom (feminine touch and awesome filipino food).? a toughie, for sure.
Right now I live with my mom. I have no idea what it would be like to live with my dad seeing that he lives in another country…. so I’d have to say my mom… although I’d rather live alone or with my boyfriend (when I get a boyfriend heh)

I live with both parents as I’m 19.. But I’d really like to only live with my mum. She’s nicer and more chillaxed. My dad and I have issues going way back.
We are the sandwich generation. My 91 year old mother lives with us. Just this week we had to buy a new home, one more accomodating of her physical and emotional needs. It’s not horrible, as our new house is on the water and every room as a sweeping view of Puget Sound. Not bad at all.
We have committed to taking care of Mom and we are doing this to the best of our ability. I would have done the same for my dad, but he died 10 years ago.

My mother and father are both dead so ummm think I will pass on living with either of them. My brothers raised me so I guess I will opt for living with my father figure instead.

My parents are still married so I’d be stuck with them both either way.
I don’t think I want to spend my life hanging out at the cemetery with Dad. This was an easy choice for me.
My father. I don’t know how long he has left, and I try to spend as much time as possible with him as it is already.
I would want to live with my mother if I had to make a choice between two pretty awful parents and if she were alive which she isn’t. @mathematicalbagpiper - Then they are ignorant, blind, stupid people who are missing out on life in one of the only ways that really matters. How any parent can turn their back on their own child is beyond my comprehension.

my parents are still married and live together. i also live on my own. however, my dad works out of state and keeps an apartment there. my dad and i are in the process of purchasing a home in the area where he lives because i’m considering doctorate programs in that area. still, i doubt this is the type of scenario you were prefacing the question on… i’d live with either one. i did it for 17 years. not that bad. however, they’re older and i would prefer if they lived out the rest of their days together without my different life pace throwing them off.

tough choice – probably my mom because she is more like a best friend sometimes, but I am close to both now. But then dad is such a class clown and funny. Oh, this is a hard one.

My Mom was ill and lived with me for many months it wasn’t bad at all. Even my husband enjoyed her. Well, we enjoyed it until she started feeling better and the bitching started. LOL … No it wasn’t me it was her. My Dad is in a better place, I don’t know about that but my friends Dad lost his house and moved in with him, That seems to be pretty good, He is a really nice man and likes to bring out food when company comes over.

I would love to live with both of them. Of course I didn’t realize this until they were both gone. My Dad was the easiest to get along.
I have been living on my own for the last five years so interesting to think about. But if I had to choose one… seeing that my life up till now included both and now I would have to choose one, I would choose my mom. I get along way better with my mom than my dad. My dad and I try our best, we sincerely do but we don’t see eye to eye.
i live with my mom and stepdad.. i’ve always lived with my mom until she married a crazy men. i get tired of them most of the time. but ill choose mom….

If I could choose one parent, I would chose my dad, mostly because he’s a lot more lax than my mother.
