I must admit that I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt if they have encountered difficulty in life.  Take this Asian in a wheelchair:

If he used that laptop and started a xanga site, I would probably tend to give him the benefit of the doubt if he sometimes stepped out of line.  I don’t believe in allowing someone to stay in a victim mentality.  But I would imagine his life would be hard in the wheelchair and so he may encounter problems that he has learned to deal with differently than I would.

I know people will tend to say the politically correct thing and say they would give no special treatment but I think it is only natural to take into account the struggles of others when dealing with them.

Would you tend to be nicer to this Asian just because he is in a wheelchair?
                                
                 

Almost every time I post about prisoners and their rights in prison, it appears that most of the people say something along the lines of “A prisoner has lost their rights because of their crime.

Sherriff Joe Arpaio is in the news because he tried to block a woman from having an abortion.  She wanted an abortion and he denied her request.  He forced the woman to attempt to get a court order to have the abortion and then tried to stand in the way of her getting that abortion.  Here is the link:  Link

I was reading an article about how some people are taking their babies or toddlers to the bar.

The thinking is that it is expensive to get a baby sitter and that parents should be able to pop into a bar and bring their baby along.  Apparently some people at the bar object to the babies being there because no one wants them to smoke or curse around their child.  Here is the link:  Link

I was just reading an article about chatroulette.com.  It is a site that allows its users to get on a webcam and it randomly sets them up with other people.  Here is the link:  Link

People can get randomly connected with anyone.  Some people have been using the site to get naked and expose themselves to others.  The concern is that the site is a danger to underage users.

According to the article, the basic understanding of the Communications Decency Act of 1996 exempts Chatroulette because they are not responsible for the content of the users.

An author is causing a debate over her suggestion that girls are ready to have babies at the age of 14.

She said that women are operating on a “male timetable” that causes women to wait until they are older to have children.  She believes that “having sex and having babies is what young women are about.”  She believes their “insticts are suppressed in the interests of society’s timetable.”  Here is the link:  Link

The point has been made that for most of history, some women have had children as young as 14.
