There is a growing movement in our country to “unschool” children. The basic idea is that there are “not textbooks, no tests and no formal education.”
Children are left to make their own decisions and rules. A parent suggested it was about trusting your kids.
One of the unschool parents said that the found that their kids “don’t need a whole lot of rules.” Here is the link: Link
Do kids need a whole lot of rules?
A 13-year-old girl has been kicked out of school for 3 days for pointing her finger gun at her teacher.
The girl said, “I was shooting the markers at the front of the board.” The teacher turned around and thought it was a direct threat to her. It was considered a “terroristic threat” and is labeled a “level four violation.” The school has a “zero tolerance policy” Here is the link: Link
Do you think a finger gun pointed in the direction of a teacher should be treated as a threat?
I noticed Sam is back on xanga and that makes me happy. I was sorry to see him leave but I also understand when a person shuts down for one reason or another.
Sam mentioned in his post that he recently came out of the closet to his friends and family. I have noticed that so many people have announced they were gay over the last 5 years on xanga.
Sam came out to his family first. But having watched people come out on xanga it appears to me that most people actually come out on xanga before they come out to their friends in real life. In other words, people felt more comfortable coming out to their online friends before they came out to their real life friends.
Do you find it is easier to share things on xanga than sharing things to friends in real life?
I had a conversation on twitter with TheBigshowatud and we were talking about Scrambledmegsntoast.
Here is her profile pic on xanga:
I saw her real photo on twitter and I was surprised to see she was an attractive woman. I made some sort of comment about looking at her profile pic and thinking she was probably not attractive. Bigshow mentioned, “no, she’s attractive. i thought the same thing, too.“
In fact, I was thinking she was also black based on her profile pic. I guess I always assume that if someone uses a fake profile pic, then he or she must be not very attractive.
Do you assume a person is ugly if they use a fake profile pic?
In just a few months, a person will be able to carry a concealed gun in Arizona without a permit.
The Governor signed the bill and made it a law. The person must be a U.S. citizen and 21 years old or older. The person will have to “accurately answer” if a police officer asks the individual if he/she is carrying a gun. Here is the link: Link

I was just reading an article about Christian music artist Jennifer Knapp and how she came out of the closet and admitted she was lesbian.
Rev. DL Foster was quoted in the article. He is the founder of the “Gay Christian Movement Watch” website (No word on why he is so committed to watching gays).
In the article, Rev. DL Foster was quoted as saying, “‘For a person to try and combine [being gay and being a Christian music artist] is not biblically correct, and I would hope that the church would reject such music because it does not represent us,’ he said. ‘To me, it doesn’t matter if you are openly gay or closeted gay, sin is still sin.’” Here is the link: Link
Is it against the Bible to be both a Christian artist and be a lesbian?
About 7500 online shoppers agreed to sell their soul in order to make purchases at “GameStation.”
Part of the terms and conditions of use was to give the company rights to the user’s soul. It was called the “immortal soul clause.” Here is the link: Link
Would you be willing to sell your soul in order to have the right to play a video game?
A high school student paper editor is coming under fire for printing the responses of students who answered the question, “If you could be famous for anything, what would you be famous for?”
Some of the answers were “killing someone famous,” mass murderer,” “having an affair with the president,” “dropping a nuke on the Middle East” and “leader of the KKK.” Here is the link: Link
I must admit that I find it shameful that someone would ask that question and set it up for people to answer in an offensive manner.
If you could be famous for anything, what would you be famous for?
