AI without Simon would be like The Simpsons without Homer: it just can’t work.
I seriously dont think they will find someone as much as an honest critic as he is. he doesnt tell ppl what they want to hear he is brutal honesty..he truly see’s potential in people and knows if they will be a star..he isnt biased at all.. he can be a little hurtful at times. but need i might add be critical now before you are a star and not make it..i think crystal bowersox should have won tonite.. she is awesome i just dont know if lee is an american idol the thing is she was 2 good she was the female version of adam lambert as in singing.. and range..and origionality..anyways im rambling..
I’m not sure. He hasn’t been his usual self for a few seasons and I found him boring. Then Paula left and so I never watched this season. I think AI should take a break for awhile. But of course they won’t. And Ryan Seacrest should just come out already.
Certainly, if the find a judge with perceptive (even if it ends up sounding harsh) criticism who actually knows something about music, the show will continue to be successful. Simon is overrated–he knows what sells, but really knows nothing about music. I have heard the things he executive produces in England, and they tend to be bland and musically illiterate. Find a judge who does know something about music and who is honest in his criticism–and the show will be even better than before.

I’ve literally grown up with that show. It came on when I was 9. In those 9 years, they haven’t changed a thing. It gets boring by the 4th season of watching, I’ve found.

That show sucks, but occasionally I’ll watch it because the only redeeming feature is Simon Cowell’s heartless comments and soul-shredding critiques. So without Simon Cowell, it’s worthless to me.

Hard to say. I didn’t watch much this year because I felt like the addition of Ellen added nothing to the show. Too bad they couldn’t have gotten rid of her and kept Simon. Loyal viewers might keep watching, though.
The show was already dying. It has become boring, they really need to change the rules.
If they can’t find good replacement for Simon Cowell, they should just end the show.
