  • Ideal Height

I was sitting at a xanga meeting tonight with Saintvi, Joyouswind, Kate, Andrew and Mary and Mary was talking about the ideal height for a woman.  She mentioned that she is 5’1″ and she said the ideal height for a woman is 5’5″ to 5’6″.

(The above photo is not Mary).

I said it is better for a woman to be shorter.

What do you think is the ideal height for a woman?

  • Is The U.S. Better Than Other Countries?

The Texas Board of Education is working on the textbooks that students use in school.

One issue that is coming to the surface is “American Exceptionalism.”   American Exceptionalism is the idea that the “United States, by virtue of its orgins and ideals, its struggles and accomplishments, stands apart from –and, in some eyes, above — other nations.”

One author claimed, “From childhood, we are indoctrinated with the propaganda that America is superior to other nations; that our way of life, a mass-market ‘democracy’ manipulated by lobbyists, is superior to all other forms of government.”  Here is the link:  Link

Do we tend to think we are better than other countries?

  • Abortion Commercials

An organization in the U.K. will begin airing advertisements for abortion services.  This is causing some people a little grief.  Here is the link:  Link

So I thought this would be the perfect time for us xangans to help out.  I want you to make a video for an advertisement for abortion services.  You can make them as sarcastic and edgy as you like and they can be pro-life or pro-choice.

Make your video and send me a message and I will post them on my site for your viewing pleasure.

  • Breastfeeding Photo

Julie Bown from “Modern Family” is coming under fire for bringing photos of her breastfeeding to the George Lopez show.  The photos were of her using the “double football” breastfeeding style to feed her twin boys.  The photo was aired on the show.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think the photo should be aired on TV?

  • Favorite Xangan

Well, we did the most annoying so I guess we should do the favorite.

Who is your favorite person on xanga?

  • Facebook More Vital Than Family

About 28% of children said that social networks like Facebook and Twitter were more vital to them that family. (I received this post idea from My_Final_Username).  Here is the link: Link

The poll doesn’t surprise me as people become a little less connected to their families.

So lets take a poll of our own and answer honestly.

    1.  Real life friends

    2.  Online friends

    3.  Family

Which is the most vital to you?

  • Tips To Avoiding Xanga and Internet Drama

Having been on xanga for over 5 years now, I have seen a great deal of drama.  So with all of this time of observation, I would like to pass on a little insight in what I have learned on how to avoid drama.

    # 1  Never mention someone in a post by name in a negative way.

Example:  Say I thought DearRicky was an overrated blogger who plays on the emotions of women and uses his handicap to get sympathy.  I would avoid saying that.  Instead, I would mention “Some people just use their handicaps for sympathy.”  Do you see how I avoided the drama?  By simply not mentioning DearRicky’s name, I kept myself safe.

    # 2  Never point out grammar or spelling mistakes.

Example:  If I came across Trunthepaige’s post and noticed that she spelled “inteligense” wrong, I would not point it out.  I would simply respond to the post and address the topic.

    # 3 Never comment on a post involving a fight on xanga.

***This example has been deleted for quality assurance reasons***

    # 4  Do not attempt to webcam with Maniac_Rose.

    # 5  Never make fun of fat and ugly people.  (No link on this one).

    # 6  Resist the temptation to make fun of the Pope.  Some people are sensitive about the creepy guy.  (Megan)

    # 7  Never point out to a washed up comedian that he has no chance to make it in comedy and his posts are never funny.   (VaneDave)

    # 8  Do not point out to someone on xanga that there is no hope they will be a writer who sells more than 500 books to their closest friends.  Here is the link:  Link

    # 9.  Always assume the person on xanga really is dead.  Talk about what a wonderful person he/she was.

Follow these simple rules and you will avoid xanga drama just like me.

  • Should Tax Dollars Pay For Illegal Immigrants College?

Can you see this girl crying?

She is crying because she cannot use American tax dollars to help her get through college.  She has a 4.09 grade-point average.  The problem is that she is an illegal immigrant.  She is 17-years old and her parents came over to the U.S. illegally when she was 8 years old.  So she worked hard in school.

But now she is being denied federal aid for college because she is an illegal immigrant.  Here is the link:  Link
