  • Rape Condom

I was just reading an article about doctor from South Africa who invented a rape condom.  (I first read this issue on xanga about two weeks ago and recommended the post but I can’t remember who first posted it).

A woman would put the rape condom in just like a tampon.  It has “teeth-like hooks” that will attach to a man’s penis if he tries to rape a woman.

It takes a doctor to remove the rape condom.  He will not be able to walk or pee until it is removed.  If he attempt to remove it, it will get even tighter.  Here is the link:  Link

Some are concerned it may cause more violence against women when the guy gets angry.

Do you think the rape condom is a good idea?

  • So what do you do, just wear it all the time in case you get raped?  That could be disasterous if you have a passionate night with someone you want to have sex with and forget you have those teeth things inside you.  Yikes!

  • Oooo…but what about the woman who uses it in a case that’s not rape?

  • “If he attempt
to remove it, it will get even tighter.”

It’s the Chinese finger trap for penises!

  • I WANT A WHOLE CASE OF THOSE, AND I DON’T TYPE IN ALL CAPS LIGHTLY!!!!!! I WANT THEM!

  • so what would you do? wear it all the time? i don’t get it.

  • If you have to wear one of those every time you go out, I’d suggest you find another place to go.

But I do suppose its a good idea if you are paranoid about being raped…

  • @Galbsadi - well what about the woman that stabs your ass in your sleep. Kitchen knives are still legal.

This thing is awesome. And they should hand them out in schools.

  • Wow, I think it’s great that the woman kept her word–even if it did take 40 years. But is it safe to keep it in the vagina for so long? Or do you have to take it out every night or something…? The problem with rape is that you never know when it’s coming. What if the one day you decide not to wear it (because you’re in a familiar area) and you get raped?

This is definitely making me think…

  • I’d feel pretty bad.. Sure the doucher deserved it, but like…ow. I remember explaining this to my guy friend, Mike…and he literally started freaking out because of how painful it sounded. And yeah, he’d probably kill the bitch for doing that to his dick.

  • I’d be afraid that a woman would use one so she could make a false accusation against a guy or get him back for something.  o.o

  • Can the woman remove it herself if she decides she DOES want to have sex with a guy? Cause otherwise that could get …. interesting.

But as a whole I think it’s a good idea. If I lived by myself downtown here in Braunschweig and had to walk that path alone to the apartment… I’d wear one.

  • If a burglar is afraid to break in through the front door chances are he’ll go through the back.

  • @maniac_rose - Oh, I’m not entirely against it, don’t get me wrong.  I just know a couple women that would abuse it.  (One of which almost stabbed my brother…great example, there.)

  • You know, if I endorsed a product that caused women grotesque pain and mutilation to their vag, I’d be called all sorts of things.

  • I’d wear one. At least it would give me a chance to get away.

  •  if someone wants to rape you they are not afraid to hurt you. when they find that ugly fucker on the end of their penis im assuming they will be a little angry, so not sure it is a good idea. unless the guy knows that the girl has one and then maybe it would stop him trying. thats the only time i think it would work…

otherwise i think its an odd little fella. wouldnt want him inside me eeeeekkkkk  reminds me of that ‘tooth’ movie where she actually has teeth in her vagina hahahahahah … oohh maybe thats where the idea came from!

  • @DrugInducedDuck - that probably would happen.

it’s kind of a sexist world out there.

  • It’s a great idea if an African woman has a death wish or is planning immediate status as another one of America’s illegal immigrants.

  • @Galbsadi - I would go to local bars, all  dressed in mini skirts and and party… And lure in the rapists. I would be ….

the vagina defender! You never know what party she’s going to be at. But when she says no, you better listen.
    I love it. lol

  • @maniac_rose - Do you get raped on a daily basis or something? I mean, why would you need an entire case of spikey dick traps?

  • @maniac_rose - …I hope you’re joking.  Because in reality, you’d end up with the one that’d kill you…and that wouldn’t be cool.  If I heard about it later, then I’d be sad.  And I’d say “I told her I hoped she was joking.  Because in reality, she’d end up with the one that’d kill her.”

  • @DrugInducedDuck - there’s a few nights in my wild life I would have loved to have been wearing one of those. lol

They seem handy for when going to out of control situations.

  • @Galbsadi - nah, when they are screaming from the pain in their pants, is when you kick em in the face.

lol alright I’m done, sorry Dan, I got excited.

  • @druginducedduck it is only meant to cause harm to those that are already causing harm to another individual.

Now for my comment.  It sounds like a wonderful idea, sure there are many problems, but at least some one is out there looking for answers.  Does any one realize how many rapes go un-reported.  It is such a stigma on the woman that they are afraid of what every one will think about them.  If a man wants to feel like he is in control, I am sure a prostitute will pretend to be subdued and subjected by him, why hurt an innocent?  So until that time, lets keep looking for answers and this is one.

  • ok to everyone that reads this.. the vagina is not the only place women are raped they are raped anally as well.and raped mentally. but it is good that the dr was thinking of ways to help. but that particular thing will not stop a woman from being raped think about it. it is common sense. women are not gonna wanna wear these things all the time you would have to always carry them with you and some women dont carry purses and what if you are wallkin in a parking garage just to your car you cant always be near a bathroom to insert it.. and what about when they are on their period.they cant wear them then if they have a blind date or in unfamiliar territory or they simply dont feel safe. this is part of it is for the ladies that wear tampons.and what if they want to have sex WILLINGLY if she is not a christian and or has other beliefs that sex is ok before marriage ect.. and so on., things happen and the guy is doomed if she forgets she has is in in the heat of the moment. so their are more negatives than positives on this one.so look at the whole picture not just parts of it. but unless you have been raped yourself , you will never know the feeling of the mental or physical aspect of it. thanks dan for posting this. and allowing us to voice out opinion.hope this sheds some light on some of you.

  • I think it’s more important to focus on the root of the problem, then make a patch for the problem.

  • @maniac_rose - I guess.  I’d just be concerned.  It’s in my cynical nature.

  • yea i dont really get it either… its not like a woman will always have the time to slip one of those bad boys in during the moment of terror when she realizes that she’s about to get raped… idk… weird.

  • Well, after the execute the first dozen or so that get caught with those things I’m certain the cases of rape will go down…

  • Dumb idea.

The same predator willing to violate a woman probably wouldn’t mind putting his hands down there to feel around first before proceeding with assualt. How do you suppose he’d respond after catching the little trick?

What’s to prevent the rapist from turning one of those inside-out to equip as a weapon?

  • ok i actually clicked on the link after commenting and it said that the idea is to wear it if going on a blind date or somewhere alone where you won’t necessarily be comfortable…. but man isn’t it messed up that women are raped that often that something like this has to be invented… ugh.

  • Doesn’t seem like such a good idea to me…

  • @infinitely_invisible - exactly my point..they would have to invent one for the anus too. this thing is made for the paranoid types like me. that have been raped and do not have a sexual relationship with anyone lol..but who knows what will be available out there yrs to come.

  • @ravenbeauty2 - yea… im sorry to hear about your experience… my mom was raped when she was in college. it’s a sick, sick form of abuse… i mean it is a good idea in theory… but in theory only.

  • That would be a scary thing for a virgin to place in her to avoid rape.

  • @ShamrockLover - You have a very good point 0_0″

  • @Jade_Orchid - yes it would be, im glad dan posted this its good to hear and comment on each others opinions of it.

  • Any rapist that finds one of these on his tool is going to beat his victim to death.

  • @ravenbeauty2 - Of course I would think of the virgins. There are not many of them left in the world.

  • this could be a bad idea, because if a woman could be trying to get revenge on a guy and “have sex” with him whilst wearing one and then accuse him of rape which would lead to him probably being jailed. also, if it really is rape, the guy could get really angry and violent if this happened to him.

  •  More stupid bullshit.  This is just crazy.  You sure can pick some wild shit Dan!  I wonder what would happen if the woman inserted it, got a defective one and it tore her apart. That wouldn’t be very nice. This gives a whole new meaning to the term “Clap Trap”

  • I think it’s a good idea. I don’t know about other women, but I’d rather have a guy kick my ass than rape me. Besides…if he gets that thing on it…pretty much a guarantee he’s going down for rape or attempted rape.

  • I think I’ve read about this before.

  • I QUOTE, FROM THE INVENTOR:

“The ideal situation would be for a woman to wear this when she’s going out on some kind of blind date … or to an area she’s not comfortable with,” she said.

  • @KevtheMoron - but, the rapist is not aware or expecting one of these to be on… once he tries to rape her vaginally, he cannot rape her anally.

but, understandably, if this gets very popular then guys will just rape “through the back door”.

  • @infinitely_invisible - ”The ideal situation would be for a woman to wear this when she’s going out on some kind of blind date … or to an area she’s not comfortable with,” she said

  • @iiinfinitesimal - yea i clicked on the link and read that… you probably just didn’t see my second comment

  • I’m a bit on the fence about it, but if it made a woman feel more confident and safe going out, especially if say she has been raped before, then I can understand why she might want to use such a product.

  • On behalf of all men, let me say: “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!”

Any piece of shit who tries to rape someone deserves what they get, don’t get me wrong. But, won’t he get stuck in the woman? That’d be awkward, to say the least.

  • I’m not really sure what to make of this, haha. I don’t really see any women wandering around with these things in just in case. But in places were rape is more of an extreme problem and happens daily to some women, this could be interesting. I just half wonder if the men would just kill them after realizing what had happened. I don’t know. Again, I don’t really know what to think.

  • @Rob_of_the_Sky - Your comment made my whole week lol.

And OWW that sounds painful. I don’t see it as a bad idea. Though guys can get raped too, even if statistically it’s mostly women.

  • My va-jay-jay says “no thank you” to the scary insertable rape condom sporting teeth.

  • It’s probably not hygienic to wear something like that for too long.

  • I’m not convinced this would be more effective than more conventional self-defense tactics, like pepper spray, in deterring rape.  I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.

Some women abusing this might seem inevitable, but this tends to be the case with just about anything we humans come up with.

At any rate, I don’t think I’d like to see this become the new standard rape defense, as it is not without its flaws, but it might help some women for the time being.

  • Lets think of it this way, if someone is raping a woman with THAT thing inside her, there will be no physical evidence to prove it.

Good idea to prevent rape, but that’s the fatal flaw, as well as many other smaller flaws.

The best way to prevent rape is to have the courage to say no and leave.

  • HAH! Take that you horny bastards ! ! >=D

  • Sure. Rapists deserve to get their peepee shredded.

  • @Dustin_wind - it’s rape… you have already said ‘no’ and you probably have already tried to leave. it’s FORCED… and men are often many times stronger than the average woman they are trying to take advantage of.

  • @iiinfinitesimal - be that as it may, a jury will not accept it as rape unless there is physical evidence.

  • I think a guy who would be violent enough to rape a woman would be violent enough to severely abuse or kill her out of frustration when he gets his dick stuck in this thing.  Probably much more likely to survive a “classic” rape than one where you’re wearing one of these things….I’d personally rathar be raped than murdered….well….maybe not in Africa…..

  • @not_izzy - Your point is well made.

  • I’m all for it.  If a guy wants to rape a someone, then he deserves to have his dick mutilated if not completely chopped off.  Seriously, if you are gonna use something for harm, then you shouldn’t be allowed to have it in the first place!!!  I see a lot of what-ifs in the comments…”what if a girl forgets that it’s there”.  Okay people, it’s made of glass and goes in her vagina…she’s not going to forget that it’s there!!!  Seriously, do you forget that you have a tampon in? Simple answer…no.  As for the “what if she uses it and makes false accusations?” crap…um, pepper spray/mace is still legal.  Knives are still legal.  We can use those and make false accusations…as well as a whole bevy of other things, so this is no different.  As far as the argument that women are raped other ways too, that is very true.  But this is a defense against one type.  Defending at least against one is better than nothing!  And I’m pretty sure that he’s not gonna try to shove his dick up your ass if he has this glass thing with teeth attached to his pecker.  It’s gonna hurt like hell and he’s gonna be screaming in pain and agony…not trying to do it up your ass.  But that’s just my $.02

  • if that happened to my dick, i would kill the bitch. literally.

  • Oh yes!!!  Finally revenge and now they ned to come up with somethign that will protect children from their teachers.

  • Like the article said, the device would only serve as a constant reminder to women that they are vulnerable. There are many setbacks to this device which we’ve discussed pretty thoroughly here. South Africa should be focusing on putting law enforcement in the hands of actual law enforcement officers, not the potential victims. The government has the ultimate responsibility of protecting the people. If women want to protect themselves, then by all means more power to them. They should also make medical care more affordable for women. I fear this device will cause more harm than good.

  • Hell, yeah this is a good idea, and then doctor’s should legally be allowed to kick the guy in the balls after surgically removing this thing.  Second offenses should require mandatory castration.

“Why do you have that thing wrapped around you?  Because they’ll castrate me if I get it removed.”

@maniac_rose - ”This thing is awesome. And they should hand them out in schools. “

    I agree completely.

  • looks like too big of a girth for 90% of azns.

  • @Lydia_Lynne - Agreed…I was thinking along the same lines.  Woman’s not gonna forget it’s there and accidentally spear her husband or boyfriend.  I do worry about its use in young girls/teens who may not even be able to use tampons yet.   Probably not practical.  I wish there was a way to protect our young daughters – but this thing would scare most young girls.  We still have to teach them safety, educate them about sexual violence, and teach them some self-defense, and pray they’re never a victim.   Also, for those who think this would only anger the  guy further and that he would then beat her up or kill her – do you think any male who has had the “misfortune” to run into one of these is going to be capable of doing any further damage?  i think not…he is going to be in severe pain and worried about his wee wee.  She’ll hopefully be able to run away while he’s rolling around on the ground, grabbing his crotch and screaming.  Not the best solution in the world for rape, but at least it’s some kind of defense against some forms of it.

@Dustin_wind - No physical evidence?  The stupid guy is gonna have this thing attached until a doctor at the nearest ER removes it – doc will know a rape has occurred and will call the police.  Hopefully woman will do same.

  • @musicmom60 - Right, forgot about the doctor part. Been a longgggg day haha. I’m afraid that some women will abuse this though, and i feel bad for the men who fall victim to this.

  • @TakingxOverxMe - I agree and this invention sounds terrible…

@ravenbeauty2 - Well, yeah, seeing this invention disgusts me for some reason…

  • @iiinfinitesimal - Um, not like many times, this is obviously exaggeration, because it is highly unlikely for a human to be many times stronger than another human, hope you get the picture. If you are female, go train your body and/or practise martial arts, one must become strong because there are times when power is needed. The weak will perish with their ways, only the strong will prevail in the end. Having strong allies is not enough, you must become strong yourself. If you are strong, not only can you defend youself but you can also save the weak and protect those in need. You can defend whoever you want to defend, only when you are strong enough.

  • @musicmom60 - What if a woman has this thing in her and then started to rape men? You know there are women who rape men in this world, not only males rape females.

  • @nowayout001 - Yeah, that would be bad…..to use it as a weapon.  But can you inversely imagine – a man using a penis as a weapon?  Oh my!  Not a new concept…

  • @musicmom60 - It is possible for women to be forgetful at times. And about angering the guy further, it really depends on field study on this one. What if the pain is not severe enough to immobilise the guy for long enough to allow escape in whatever condition the girl is in? Inserting something like this in my own vagina… Will it not hurt myself? Can I move like normal with something like this inside me? How user-friendly is this thing? I really doubt its value, we’ll have to see the evidence for ourselves when enough proof has been generated…

  • @musicmom60 - Of course we all know that, you are just stating the obvious, but I mean you should consider the other side of the coin.

  • In this case it would be better for the government to allow women to carry small and sharp weapons around instead of having this thing inserted in their own vaginas lol~

  • @Dustin_wind - Yeah, true, would be bad if it were used as a weapon instead of a defense….just like using a penis as a weapon is not okay, either.   I guess guys don’t like it when they think what could happen to them…women who are raped, I would imagine, don’t like being shredded down there, either.

I think I read somewhere this was mostly developed to be used in South Africa, where rape is incredibly prevalent?  I don’t think this has made it to Europe or the US yet.

  • @nowayout001 - Yeah, I don’t know how user-friendly this would be, either….I’m sure before anything like this is even allowed in the US, the FDA would have to do all their studies on health, safety, effectiveness.   As a woman, it doesn’t look appealing, and don’t think that I would use it, as I don’t consider myself to be in a high-risk situation of any kind, but for those who are, or could be, might not be a bad thing to have a defense, if it was practical, safe and comfortable to use.

  • @musicmom60 - Maybe, but I guess it is a personal choice, as with everything else. I don’t think I would be using it, not that I am really at high risk anyway… And if I get raped for any reason, then the price will be paid, and that’s it. That’s why I urge females to become strong and fit, and train in the arts of self-defence. In the end, we can’t always count on the police to save the day, we too must learn to protect ourselves. After all, I have already had sex. Everything in life involves a risk, I am saying this just so you know…

  • @nowayout001 - For sure; self defense is a great tool to have; I think all girls should learn it.

  • Uhh.. I just see this being slightly disastrous. First of all, I have to wear teeth in my vagina all the time? Second, what if things get a little heated? You have to dart to the bathroom to rip out the teeth inside you..?
And yeah, the false rape accusations people have mentioned definitely come to mind.

Interesting.. but, I would never wear teeth inside me!

  • I can def see this going bad. The rapists knows he will get caught and I can guarantee he will get angry at the woman and beat/kill her. It’s a good idea, but I don’t see it working…

  • I honestly think it’s a good idea…while the man is in pain, it might give the woman a chance to escape too

  • So don’t forget to credit me, old man.

  • I think that it’s a good idea, but it’s not too practical.

  • It actually kind of made me laugh…reminds me of Teeth.

  • Teeheeheee, my friends and I used to choke about if vaginas having teeth and growling.

I would be extremely concerned about inserting this thing incorrectly. Also, I think it would piss the guy off and cause him to become more violent, putting the girl in deep shit because he would still be inside of her and she, stuck. This could do some serious damage to the inside of a girl…
I think I’ll stick to a knee in the groin, thanks. But I might just leave a box of these lying the around the house as a fright, just in case.

  • @DrugInducedDuck - LOL @ your comment to maniac. XD

  • Yes I do think it’s a very good idea. The article stated that nearly 30% of men down there have raped a woman. And also that some of the women are already taking their own measures such as wearing an extra tight pair of biking shorts or having razorblades down there. This would be better and safer for the women and would definitely make the men think twice!

  • from the look of them it looks like it would be painful to the woman too…

    @maniac_rose - lmao

  • it’s complicated, IMO.   It was invented for use in a country with the greatest amount of rapes per capita in the entire world, so situationally I can’t really speak as to if it’s a good idea in south africa; i don’t live there.
    I
I think from an american perspective, it does a limited amount of good if you use it here- it doesn’t prevent rape after all.   I doubt anyone would get that violent when they have hooks on their penis, for fear of ripping it more, but I think it’s up to every woman to decide for herself if it is worth the risk.   I think it’s also silly to assume that if the guy just goes ahead and rapes, he’ll be less violent; if he’s likely to react violently, he’ll do it without the “rape condom.”

It’s better than nothing, but I think it could lead to a false sense of security- in America most rapes occur in the home by someone you know.   If this was marketed in america, however, it could help perpetuate the misconception that rape is usually in a backalley/woods/etc by a stranger.    And that is a dangerous idea to spread.    Also, while it might be more easy to know when to use it in south africa because rape is very prevalent, how would you know when is a good time to put one in?    Would people blame you if you didn’t decide to wear it somewhere, and then got raped?   (again, I get why it’s good in south africa.   I’m just thinking out loud, in general)

Also, I think it’s, again, better than nothing if you’re getting raped and you have it, but culturally I think we should work harder to prevent rape from happening in the first place.

  • @KevtheMoron - hahaha!

I don’t think those things are as practical as they seem. To, many possible issues with it.

  • for all that say he would just hurt her more. I’m just thinking he would be too damn shocked and eager to get his dick out of severe pain to hurt her. While he’s struggling to get his dick free YOU RUN DAMNIT! I heard about this like 2 years ago and actually had an argument about it. A bunch of people would say that girls would just abuse it and stuff like that. And that’s true you do run that risk..but if the bitch is that crazy…maybe you shouldn’t be fucking her?

  • It might cause more violence against women if the guy gets pissed about it, but I think he’ll be too busy with the hooks digging into his penis…

  • @musicmom60 - For our sake, I hope it doesn’t come to the U.S. personally.

  • The bastards deserve it! xD

However I already know how to open up a can of whoop ass. So I’ll pass, thanks.

  • did this doctor create this because of a large number of rape cases he sees in south africa?

also, you have a lot of tasteless and tacky readers, sir.

  • I think it’s a good idea in places with a high crime rate.

  • I have no idea, it just seems useless, why not just give him a condom when he wants to rape? I think its better.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
    I find this hysterical.
    Spiky vagina.

  • @Dustin_wind - like a guy with a tooth-condom stuck to his penis.

  • @nowayout001 - if there is some six foot guy, he will easily overpower a woman at the average women’s height of 5’6 or under no matter what shape she is in. my uncle is maybe 5’11 and obese but he could easily overpower  me at any time (i’m 5’5) despite the fact that he has not done physical activity since college and i was a high school athlete. i’m not being anti-feminist here, but there is a point where that is the truth.

  • Keep in mind that the inventor is from South Africa. The article states:
“South Africa has one of the highest rape rates in the world, Human
Rights Watch says on its website. A 2009 report by the nation’s Medical
Research Council found that 28 percent of men surveyed had raped a woman
or girl, with one in 20 saying they had raped in the past year,
according to Human Rights Watch.” The article goes on.

So perhaps in places where rape is less common, it would be awkward to wear one of these all the time (although things like walking through a dark parking lot or going on a blind date would make sense), but in places like South Africa where women take “drastic measures” by “wearing extra tight biker shorts and others inserting razor blades in
their private parts,” I think it’s a great idea.

  • the idea makes sense for a country like South Africa. practically, it will not prevent men from attempting rape. men will find ways to remove this device during rape.

  • Seems like it would stifle the problem too late anyway. He would already have gotten in at that point. Sure it punishes him, but theres just too many unanswerable variables like having to wear it all the time, women who could potentially misuse them, and the whole making the rapist even angrier. This is like a quick fix and not a full on solution.

  • yeahh. i heard about this a couple years back.

  • I’d be afraid that he would become more violent after finding that.

  • My thoughts are these:

    1. The most logical thing with this condom would be, when you are leaving a safe place to go to another safe place, the time inbetween is when you feel vulnerable. You could insert it, and wear it until you arrive, and then take it out.

    2. It says in the article that a man cannot walk once it has clamped on. This is a very good thing because if the man became angry/violent, being unable to walk woudl allow the victim the chance to escape.

    3. It doesn’t come off. That means the man cannot retaliate by taking a woman in any other way, and cannot try to penetrate her again, also giving the victim a chance to run away. I imagine the shock sent to the rapist when a set of teeth bites down on his penis would be enough for him to recoil, even jump off the girl, and give them time to escape.

    4. It stays on for so long it allows justice to be served.

    5. How the heck does it come out if it doesn’t get “used” ?

  • I love how people have said, “he’d probably kill the bitch” and “what happens when he catches the little trick”.

I love how some people can refer to victims of rape as bitches and tricks. How lovely.
And the condom can come out once a dick is inside it, or a woman can remove it herself. The teeth of the condom would actually be stuck to the penis and it would slip out with it.
Also: I imagine it’d be pretty hard to forget you were wearing one of these….

  • Keep the lamp of friendship burning with oil of love, bcos sun rises in east and sets in west but friendship rises in HEART and sets after DEATH

  • I’m sure there have been enough psychological tests on something like this.  Violence begets violence, it’s definitely going to make the man angrier.  With that said, it will need to impair his penis enough to a point that he won’t care about anything but that.

  • I’d assume that idea of a “rape condom” was invented and thought up with the idea that a lot of women in a lot of parts of Africa are victs of rape. for all the people who are posting things like “what would you do? wear it all the time?” im pretty damn sure some of the women in africa who have been raped multiple times would wear them ALL THE TIME. its a great idea, im pretty sure a women worried about being raped would forget its there when she’s about to get intimate. clearly these condoms werent invented with the over exposed party-girl socialite in mind. but thats just my take on it.

  • either that or she could pull our her 38 and blow off his head.  haha.

  • @ItIsAllGravy - ”violence begats violence” well do u suggest a woman being rape just lay there and…. what? turn the other cheek? Or perhaps wear a device that may help her get away? I mean can she fight him? since thats violence and yeah, it may make him mad but if thats the frikkin case he shouldnt be rapingt anybody! ( this is a casual tone i am in no way trying to get all hostel)

  • @fabulousMissL - I didn’t say I’m opposed to it. You must have misunderstood. My point was if the condom doesn’t turn his schlong into summersausage it could make the rapist more violent.

  • Though wouldn’t the woman have to wear this around?  What rape victim walks around with the anticipation that she’ll be raped?

  • This is obviously not for everyday use.  It’s just for when you go to high risk places.  And the article says that in south africa, it happens quite often.  So maybe it’s a better idea for over there.

  • well, it would save me from walking around with a butcher knife…lol j/k…or am i? haha

  • that’s a legit-ass idea

  • wow that is crazy.  I mean would you have to put a new one in daily?  And what if you forgot to put it in and then the day you forgot is the day you actually ended up getting raped?

  • WOW. All I can say is that.

  • Since this is from a doctor in South Africa, I’m assuming that it’s to help issues there, and also maybe to help issues that we have here too as well. I think that it would be a good idea if someone was in a situation where they were getting raped on a frequent basis. I’m not sure how the man would react when this thing clamped down on his penis, but it may give the girl time to escape, and if the person had to go to the doctor to get it removed then hopefully it would put an end to the persons raping days. I’m glad that doctors are trying to find a way for girls to avoid rape, I’m not sure that this is the best one, but it’s good to see that the wheels are working in the right favor.
I’m horendously disappointed by many of the comments made on this post. especially from one person who said that her friend would kill a girl who ruined his penis… well maybe the friend shouldn’t rape a girl in the first place?.
I don’t understand the way people’s brains work and most of the people who have commented on here should learn to keep their mouths shut and keep their ignorance to themselves.

  • perfect for those days when i wake up and think ‘boy, today feels like a rape day.’

  • If it causes more violence, more proof. Yes she will get hurt but he will go down.

  • It’s like a chinese finger trap.

  • how inconvenient would it be to wear it all the time

  • @KevtheMoron - True… and scary.

  • As much as I wouldn’t want anyone to be raped, I kind of want a rapist to fall victim to it.

    On YouTube.

  • @iiinfinitesimal - That is why you need martial arts, and it also depends on what kind of athlete you are. Instead of thinking about overpowering, think about fleeing lol~ The body fat acts as excellent defence too~ And about the 6-foot tall man, what if he is an extremely scrawny nerd? Usually in the world of martial arts, the shorter gains advantage over the taller.

  • i dont get it. ur jus supposed to wear everyday jus in case u get raped? i get the concept but it makes no sense to me

  • LOL!
marvelous idea. but wouldn’t it make the offender even more angry?!

  • i am a kind of dumbfounded… That sounds horrible for me, and i am sure if someone want rape someone other. Then they do it, no matter what a women try to not be a victim…

For me is it only an other way, to make money with the fear of a rape! Maybe it works, ok… But i am agree that this person, would be very very angry. And then, what would he do then? Right… Maybe he gona kill the victim…

  • I think it’s a great idea. especially in areas where it is prevalent for a woman to be raped.

  • @iamjustamemory - i just read the link. to my understanding, you dont have to wear it all the time. its like a tampon. if you’re going out in an unfamiliar place, or on a blind date, then you put it in. you can simply remove it when you want to.

  • Oh great… Maybe it works a short time, and then they look “before” they rape a women. It make no sence, when it is removeable so easy. How i say… When they want rape a women or a child, then they do it! *sigh*

  • TheTheologiansCafe, you seem to benefit a lot from another Xangan’s old blog dated 07 September 2009 : http://reckless-eagle.xanga.com/711430927/of-rapists-and-rapex-the-anti-rape-condom/

  • Before you go ahead and repost an old blog from another Xangan, please give the Xangan some credit.

  • @carsiiia - ”he’d probably kill the bitch for doing that
to his dick”? please reconsider what you typed. God forbid a potential rape victim tries to defend themself by hurting the rapist, right?

  • so what happens after, does it fall off?

  • You could link this post too – http://reckless-eagle.xanga.com/711430927/of-rapists-and-rapex-the-anti-rape-condom/

It concerns me that some woman might purposely agree to have sex with a guy wearing one of those to harm him.

  • @thestars_arefading - according to the article if you read it, “South Africa has one of the highest rape rates in the world, Human
Rights Watch says on its website. A 2009 report by the nation’s Medical
Research Council found that 28 percent of men surveyed had raped a woman
or girl, with one in 20 saying they had raped in the past year,
    according to Human Rights Watch.”

It doesn’t seem like women living in South Africa have the choice of just leaving and as ridiculous as some people think using this device is here in North America, it may very well save a woman’s life there. There certainly are chances that the female condom won’t prevent violence but the idea of there being a possibility that the rapist’s penis may be cut up might be enough to stop some men from even trying.

@DrugInducedDuck - well.. it’s not made just to cause pain, it’s worn to prevent rape or at least give the woman enough time to get away. I know rape can go both ways, but I’m not entirely sure how women can rape men.

  • @Wild_and_Wicked - It’s just information, a newsworthy topic.  Lots of people will write about it and talk about.  That does not make them theives of the very first person that discussed it openly.
I think the better course of action was to point out to Dan that there is a good post by another Xangan on this same subject that he might link as a source.  That’s what I did above.

  • LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO OMFG barbs that hook onto a man’s penis?? xD this is amazing. I totally think it’s a great idea. Right there under chastity belts.

  • @Wild_and_Wicked - woooooooow.. get over yourself. People are allowed to blog whatever they want. She gave credit to the inventor of the product. That’s all the credit needed.

  • OMG, This is ingenious!

  • you have to remember that this is south africa… people literally don’t walk around once the sun goes down because crime rates are so high.  In the townships (essentially huge ghettos where close to a million people will live in a very confined space) crime rates are astronomical and over 50% of women have encountered sexual abuse. So for a woman who has to walk home close to nightfall or in an area that is unsafe, this may be useful.  They actually used to use things like this in WWII; when the soldiers had taken a village, they would often rape all the women. Obviously this would have to be used with care, but remember the audience it was designed for.

  • Dan this is old news. An early prototypical anti-rape female tampon was invented in late 2000 by Jaap Haumann, a South Africa man, for the purpose of preventing rape. An anti-rape female condom using a differentdesign was invented by Sonnet Ehlers, a South African woman. Initially called RapeX, the name was changed in 2006 upon discovering that RAPEX is also an EU warning system against dangerous goods on the market. Rape-aXe was unveiled on August 31, 2005 in South Africa. Mass production was scheduled to begin in April 2007.

  • They may still rape her anally, which is far more damaging than vaginally, and it may also lead to physical abuse.  Good idea in theory… but if it causes them to kill her over a dick trap, not worth it.

  • Guys these have worked in places in Africa where rape is used as a tool of war. Just saying

  • I think, more than anything after reading this article, I just feel shocked and disgusted that 1 out of 4 men in South Africa are rapists. There must be something very, very wrong with the legal system in South Africa if rapists are almost never convicted. It also makes me very sad for the human race to know that humans will commit violent crimes if they know that they can get away with it and that other people are doing it. I am glad that someone is at least trying to help the women there. But I don’t think this is the answer.

  • It’s one step closer to a solution, so even if it does have it’s problems, I applaud her for attempting to do something about it.

  • Look like rape just putting it in…

  • This is a sad world we live in when a woman would feel the need to take such a precaution. Does it really work I wonder. I think a man may increase his violence but 1) the women would avoid rape and 2) there is only so much he can do when he is so distracted by his own body. I think it would allow the woman a chance to get away.

  • So if she actually finds someone she wants to have sex with…

“One moment, let me do something.” *Remove rape condom*

…I’m not sure any guy would stay after seeing that.

  • I’m thinking this is kind of crazy. Exactly as other people have said, if the man is going to rape you, he obviously doesn’t care if he hurts you, and this will just piss him off. Not to mention, who the hell is paranoid enough to walk around wearing these constantly. It just seems a bit ridiculous.

  • Hmm..this is definitely an interesting concept…and I like that it gives them a bad sort of Karma for the terrible crime they had committed, and they pretty much have to turn themselves in to the police….but you know how some rape cases are just rape cases, and others turn into murder? I feel like it’d take my chances of living away and he’d make it into a rape and murder case because of the condom, rather then me just being raped…you know?

  • Hey – I think these are meant for women in Africa, where rape is a more prevalent and constant threat.

  • @ravenbeauty2 - Good points, yeah. This thing is definately not fool-proof.

Still, not that I don’t believe that rapists deserve every type of hell that can visited upon them, but yikes. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of. This really is horrific….. and the sort of product that can only be thought of in a country where rape is endemic (like South Africa).

But then again I have never been raped nor has anyone I know and love had this type of awful experience. I suppose if I had been raped and known the fear, pain and helpless rage that accompanies this type of experience I would consider the rape condom very just desserts indeed.

  • good idea if the country/village/state that you are staying is not safe.. and women in those countries suffers a bad reputation (almost equivalent to dying) when they are raped. so rather than be sorry afterwards, it’s prolly safer to use this device.

but of cos if you are staying in cosmopolitan countries where people behave like ‘Samantha Jones’ in Sex and the City, it’s kinda pointless & weird to use this device!

  • Dan cite your sources….Reckless_Eagle wrote this exact same thing a year ago… Geez this is the second time you stole a blog from a fellow xangian.

  • @Jade_Orchid - There are a lot more than you think. The average age of losing your virginity hasn’t changed.

As for the condom, I actually think it’s kind of funny

The article says :”Yes, my device may be a medieval, but it’s for a medieval deed that has
    been around for decades,”

    It made me laugh.

  • Personally, i’m not sure it would be practical for all the time.  But the concept is good and i’m glad someone’s looking for answers.  And it is a great idea for college kids who go to frat parties and such, as date rape is so common.

  • Reading a few of the comments, I find it amusing how some people don’t even read the post itself, never mind the article, and all wind up asking questions that are answered right there. If you want to know more, LOOK!

  • “It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it’s on,” erm, kinda hard for the guy to get more violent if he can’t even walk?

  • I believe this is meant for people whom live in viiolent places with high instances of rape, like south Africa. I think it is a brilliant idea. Like a more convenient chastity belt. And unless she was a complete idiot, she wouldn’t forget she had a near-weapon in her vagina.

  • Makes sense that it was invented in South Africa, where according to Wikipedia, sexual violence (including gang rape) is very common, and it is estimated that a woman born in South Africa has a greater chance of getting raped than learning how to read.

  • Eee.. I don’t know…

  • I would NOT wear one of these.

And I am pretty sure it can’t be safe to wear all the time.

This product would be abused by women attempting to get someone back for something they did.

I think this is a poor idea.

  • Why do people keep asking what would happen if she forgets to take it out? If you had teeth in your vagina, wouldn’t you be sort of, you know, constantly aware of it?

  • Waah! I need a minute to comment on that!

  • I think its a great idea.

  • It’s a bad idea. There would be definite violence against the woman who was wearing it. And, what in the case of gang rape? Word would get around and one man’s penis would be attacked, but the five other guys are just going to be ready to teach her a lesson.

  • well like everything else in the world this definetly has it’s upsides and downsides!

  • What a way to live life in fear.

  • @DrugInducedDuck - you’re an idiot. you have no idea who that girl is. she could, very well, be raped from day to day. or have you never seen the news? or have you been living under a goddamn rock?

  • It’s a good idea in theory. But I can see so many things going wrong with this. And I don’t understand…are you suppoosed to wear it all the time?? lol.

I actually think it’d be a good idea to hand it out in countries where raping is the norm. Because then it’s make sense for the women to always wear it.

  • @nowayout001 - in third world countries i think it is easier to get one of these rape-condoms than get martial arts training. and most rape victims DO try to flee – another fact of biology is that the majority of men are faster than women. even the nerds. i have had boyfriends that were 40 pounds underweight AND nerds, and they could still overpower me if they wanted.

i’m just letting you know that you are a man and it might seem simple to you, but for many women what you are saying is not a reality.

  • Um, what if it was just really rough sex and not rape at all? =

  • I don’t think people know what the rape crime is like over in South Africa. Guys, rape crime over there is really high!! Women there is just suffering from these horny rapist and this product is the best for them so far. Of course it could be improve such as having it able to be removed if she don’t want to use it or something?? Anyways it has some flaws. But honestly, this is a good product to be distributed in an area of high rape crimes. Rapist should not be free!!

  • I don’t think you guys are getting the point. This device wasn’t invented in America. It was invented in South Africa.

WOMEN GET RAPED REGULARLY IN AFRICA. The Democratic Republic of the Congo = great example. Rape is a huge power source for ethnic groups. Women dress themselves as men in some cases to avoid rape in such countries. AIDS flourishes because of forced prostitution (which they wouldn’t need the condom for…) and rape (which they would). I don’t think African women would mind having a rape condom inside themselves regularly if it prevented them from being raped and impregnated with an HIV positive baby.

  • interesting idea… but how effective is it? and how long can one even wear it? seems somewhat flawed… but at least they’re being active in ending violence against women

  • Fascinating.  If these things get more
    common, then
potential rapists would have the reason to believe that
    any potential female victim
has teeth down under.  Though this may
    deter vaginal penetration, it
    wouldn’t stop other forms of
molestation.  From what I understand, rape is
    primary an act of
    power, not necessarily of sex.

    There’s also the issue of
some women not using the rape condom properly and
    seriously injuring
    themselves or forgetting it’s there…  I don’t know if
    one could
forget if it were there or not.  My opinion on this is to go for
    it
if you are greatly concerned of being raped by penetration, just be sure
    to
know the risks of using such a device.  Don’t go putting your
    fingers or
    thumbs in there when installing.

  • @ravenbeauty2 - clearly this was not designed as a flawless plan. But something, for many women, is better than nothing. And considering this was invented in South Africa near many regions where rape is used a weapon in civil war, getting raped in parking garage elevators probably was not what he was thinking of. And… I highly doubt anyone could just forget that it is there. Looking at the picture, it appears to be significantly larger than a tampon, and if she does forget something as large and as dangerous as that is /inside/ of her… then there are other issues that need to be addressed.

As a general note, learning self defense could take care a lot of other aspects you mentioned, like blind dates and unfamiliar territory. If you go to any Sheriff’s Office in the country I’m sure they could give you information on R.A.D. classes. Summer programs that teach women how to defend themselves long enough to get away. (Note I didn’t say how to fight, but simply how to defend, there is a big difference). I myself have attended them and there is a lot of useful information available besides defense, like awareness, and avoidance.

Of course this doesn’t help women in other countries but in war torn countries, blind dates and dark alleys really aren’t on their list of concerns.

  • The only problem I see with these is that you can only wear one at a time. While it WILL protect you if it is one man, it won’t protect you from a gang. Sad we even have to worry about that anywhere in the world. sigh

  • @HopeWithinReach - Then she would be punished for assaulting the man in that instance. In places like South Africa though, This could be a life saver. There aren’t enough policemen, and certainly not enough to protect every young woman in Africa on her way home. So long as it is one attacker, and not multiple, that would take care of the problem. Alot of those women don’t just get raped, but beaten. This obviously takes care of the attacker until medical experts arrive, and he would be charged with rape. So 1. Her life could be saved not just from being beaten to death, but from AIDS, 2. He would actually be caught.

As far as abuse goes, someone could use any object as a weapon. Sexual expression is something that shouldn’t be happening anyway if two people cannot trust eachother enough to not attack eachother in bed.

  • South Africa has horribly high rape statistics. So yes, I believe specially in highly dangerous areas like that it is useful for women. It will teach the rapist a lesson and hopefully he won’t get away with the crime because he’ll have to go to the doctor and that will start some investigation on what happened. And it even says there that he won’t be able to walk? So I suppose it would be too much pain and discomfort for him to be able to hurt the woman and she should be able to get away safely.

  • I feel like something like this is not a realistic option in the united states. In africa, there are lots of undeveloped countries with corrupt governments, famine, and rape, a real everyday threat for women in some of these countries. For the majority of middle america, security is (USUALLY) not hard to come by. And in the case where a woman forgets she has it in and consents to sex, the man will be branded as a rapist when he goes to get it removed. In the linked article the doctor said herself that she hoped authorities would be standing by to make an arrest on the spot. Americans face a larger threat from STDs than rape, so I don’t believe these rape condoms should be handed out the same as regular condoms. It’s a good idea for undeveloped countries. In the United States, I guess it’s a good option for those in similar difficult situations, but for most American girls, they will either have to wear one every day on the off-chance they get taken advantage of, or would have enough foresight of an oncoming attack that they could take additional steps to prevent it and protect themselves – not just the condom on the days they feel threatened. There is pretty easy access to noncorrupt police/authority/etc in the U.S. To wear one every day would probably lead to increased health/sanitation risks and the possibility of hurting a man by forgetting the condom was in, physically, emotionally, and tarnishing his name.

  • in theory, yes. in reality, I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

  • I know a few crazy exes that would use that as revenge

  • Eeeep! O_O

I think it’s a good idea for the most part, but there are also a lot of fucked up and psycho women out there who I wouldn’t trust it with.

  • @DrugInducedDuck - I think if you endorsed a product that would hurt a woman that was trying to rape a man, then it would be fine.

  • I think it’s a good idea to use against someone that was going to rape you. I don’t think he could harm her all that much, just because he’d probably be in a lot of pain… and the article says they can’t even walk.

I’m not sure I can trust that all women would use it correctly though. Plus, who wants to wear that all the time?

  • Has it occurred to anyone that the girl might just wear one with a guy because she thinks that it’s funny?

  • That thing is crazy!…But poor guys:((

  • Interesting.  I’m not sure what I think about this.  I think I’ll wait and see the first case about this.  But I enjoyed the comment about this being the chinese finger trap for the penis.

  • I first posted it!! lol

  • @Dustin_wind - Maybe you should try feeling bad to women who fall victim to rape. Being forcefully penetrated by a violent man carrying God knows how many sexually transmitted diseases, and then ostracized by the culture that surrounds you because of HIS crime is a little worse than having a condom stuck on your dick.

  • I suppose this would be an effective idea if you happen to live in a neighborhood that is violent in that manor, but other than that, this “Rape Condom” would be lethal.

  • 1. if women could predict when they’re gonna get raped, then they wouldn’t put themselves in that situation in the first place. so are we gonna wear this 24/7?

    2. it might give women the idea to use it.. and seduce a guy they really hate lol. it’s giving me ideas already! lol

  • I think it’s a good idea.

It might unfortunately instigate violence, but it might cause enough confusion/pain for the guy long enough for the woman to be able to run. Also, since I’ve heard rapists don’t want really difficult targets, they might take off after that happens. After all, it’s gotta be painful, right? o__x

@DrugInducedDuck - Interesting point…however, there’s much more violence of men against women than there is women against men. Besides, it’s not something of casual use, it’s something in the case of a violent attack, so it’s more defense/protection than anything else. Also, I don’t think there are nearly as many cases of women raping men…still, I think anyone who is willing to try that sort of violence is fair game for someone’s mode of self-defense, regardless of gender.

  • @OHdani - At which point did I say I didn’t feel bad for them? Rape is rape and it’s unexcusable.

Please try not to throw out accusations.

  • It seems like a good idea… But also a VERY bad idea.

  • I believe this is  good in theory, but if this came down to an actual rape situation I do not believe the woman would probably be alive afterwards.

  • There are places in Africa and i’m sure other places a well where rape is a weapon of war. I think this should accessible to women in those areas- or perhaps something a little more lethal… or painful.

  • hmm…in africa, if you get raped, you will probably get AIDs….many men think having sex with an older woman rids them of aids as well as bad luck. this is one of the reasons rape rate is quite high as of late in parts of africa. so frankly, if this protects her, great. if she winds up being killed by the man cause he’s pissed she has it, he still gets caught eventually.

sadly, if she is killed her death will be a far quicker death than the AIDs she would probably get otherwise, and the potential of having the rapists AIDs born child will be gone. i suppose the choice of which is a “better” death should be left to those living that hell.

  • @Joanna_said_SO - um…sometimes rape is just part of life for these women. go to the store, get raped. go to get water, get raped. its a bit different in africa. it can happen in daylight. its a guerilla war tool. so yeah, id say its gotta be 24/7. might be a decent tradeoff…

  • @helenaaa8 - i agree. the thought of rape here is “that one psychopath hiding in an ally.” but there….its not just for getting their jollies off (though im sure thats part of it). they think raping someone will get rid of  their AIDs…for whatever sad reason they were taught that. but they were. so now things have skyrocketed. people dont understand that it isnt like here where it largely happens in dark corners and allyways. i dont think its like that there….

and if they think the rape situation is sad, they should see the invisible children who are forced to kill their parents

  • It might be a good idea for areas of the world where rape is a constant threat to women…

  • @Galbsadi - Good call. I don’t want that damn thing on the streets.

  • I have mixed feelings about this one. I mean on one hand I think it’s a great way to prevent rape… On the other hand, might it cause her some issues too when he gets pissed off cuz he got his dick caught ina vice grip? I mean that might leave me a bit miffed if I got in and couldn’t get out.

  • south africa has THE highest number of rapes per capita in the world..25% of s.african men have admitted to rape, with a woman being raped every 17 seconds…message me if u want the links to these statistics, because they are more than real.
So maybe wearing a rape condom 24/7 in a country like germany or canada may seem silly, but for women in s.africa, it will be extremely useful

  • Hell, It’s worth a try.

  • I don’t know what to think! And if he gets far enough to actually get that thing stuck on his pecker, doesn’t it count as rape already? It seems like a good idea at first, and I’m sure it could do some good, but there are a lot of problems.

  • i love how some people are like “what if she forgets to take it out before she has sex with someone she WANTS to do it with?”

um hello. have you ever forgotten to take out a tampon before gettin jiggy with it?…i didnt think so.

  • This should be designed more like a bear trap. It should wait untill full penetration then snap shut and sever the penis completely.

    imho.

  • this is not practical at all! do u keep removing it every time u go2 the bathroom? and u usually dont xpect to be raped when it God forbid happens .. the only time sum1 cud wear it is if they know that they r going 2 a place where they might b at risk of being raped ie: night clubs , late nights in the city and u have 2 go back on the subway by urself.. , scary neighborhoods/ scary bf …etc

  • @BougaLousHriMp - ….im confused. why would you need to remove it to go to the bathroom. thats a different hole.
and the doc who invented it did it for people in south africa…where yes, largely, the women DO know they will be raped.

  •  Strange! I had actually talked about this about a year ago. Not seriously, just bouncing off ideas with a friend of mine…
Very weird that someone actually invented it!

  • haha that’s awesome!

  • this is intense. but i’m not against the idea but i’m not sure how i feel about it either. i think it’s about time that they thought of something to keep a guy out of you but what if he gets more violent?

  • I’m curious if women in South Africa carry any type of weapons as protection from potential rapists? If it were me, I’d be carrying multiple guns as well as knives and pepper spray. And if anyone accosted me I’d kill their fucking asses. If the men can get away with rape without being convicted then why can’t the women get away with killing the men who are trying to rape them. It’s self defense. Kill the son’s of bitches before their dicks even get near their vaginas!

  • is there an equivelent rape condom for males?

You realize you must abolish the idea of power and the idea that “men must have sex…and have no self control (and it’s okay!)” concept out of society in general to really do something about rape.

oh, and quit making a big deal about virginity (surprise! it doesn’t really exist!)

and gender is a societal construct not any different than “race”

you really think that because people have a slightly different role in reproduction, they are all that different? of course not, but we have to have these old concepts, stereotypes, and romantic comedies to remind us every day “how the world really is” and “how men and women really are”

if you stop believing these lies, i guess you won’t be normal, get a good job and keep the old system in place with its false facade of liberation and equality

oh, and men get raped too

  • @iiinfinitesimal - I guess this is why we should train all women in gymnastics at a very early age then keep up running and weight training and flexibility all their lives. It is absolutely not a fact of biology, it is a fact of society and culture and definitely and unfortunately, religion. There is this antiquated concept that women are not supposed to be as fast, strong, and able as men and for some strange reason, many women adhere to that because if you are stronger and faster, you are different or bad for going against the way things are and always have been.

  • I think there are pros and cons.  I mean, I think it makes for a great deterrant but a few issues stand out to me.  First off, if the guy looks first, will he not notice it?  Secondly, what does it say about a woman who goes around wearing one “just in case”?  Thirdly, it seems to me that it would be more often worn by women who would use it to seek revenge on men.  Don’t get me wrong.  I’m not saying it’s a bad idea.  I think it has its uses.  I just think there are a lot of issues that need to be taken into consideration.  It might actually backfire in a court case, for example, if the man files suit, saying it was consentual even if it was not.  If he wins the case, it could mean the wrong person goes to jail.  The obvious question of “Why were you wearing it?” can be incriminating (especially if the woman was dressed provacatively).  I’m not trying to dissuade people mind you.  I just think a lot of issues need to be carefully taken into account.  The question of if it makes a woman any safer is a tough one to answer.  I honestly don’t have the answer on this one… only questions.

  • i absolutely think this is a good idea. hopefully a girl won’t forget to take it off when she needs to!

  • Every time i think of those teeth it makes me shudder -_-

I think the best solutions are the old ones: don’t go alone; learn some self defense, use the protective stuff like tasers and mace? Cause if you think about it, i don’t think anyone’s gonna actually wear this 24/7. I mean it doesn’t exactly give the feeling of comfort now, does it?

  • @maniac_rose - What so you can run around turning men on then get them so yo can entrap them. You sound like a low life gold digging TRAMP. Get my captials slut?

  • @Legendairy - Very good statement

Women can dress like tramps and its called sexy when men dress in this fasion there called PERVS

  • @catman517 - Actually, I think they are called crossdresers but that’s another story (haha)  In all seriousness, let’s be fair here.  I mean, if men go topless, it looked at completely different than if women do (as much as Dan is surely promoting equal rights on this one hahaha)  I appretiate the sentiment on my comment.  I just call it how I see it. With all the side-issues involved, I am not sure if it is a good idea or not.  It’s a tough call.  Certainly I see the benefits but I also see harm that could come of it to the very people it is designed to protect.  On another note, I saw your response to Maniac_Rose and I would caution you to be careful about calling people things like that when it comes to these issues.  A lot of women respond with enthusiasm to something like this because the issue at hand has hit them close to home and may even have been victims themselves.  It makes sense that they would want to take matters into their own hands but my comment was also to remind people that there are laws that would make the abuse of such a product not only a danger to them but to the many who might be totally inocent and get blamed for abusing the product simply because others have done so and they don’t have a strong enough case.  I mean no disrespect, but I think it the responsible thing to do to remind you that the likelihood of many of the commenters here being previous victims or being close to those who are is extremely great.  I had a really good friend that got raped.  In my friend’s case, the guy knew how to work the legal system and so I am very quick to raise my concerns because of this.  I only say it as a reminder of the sensitive nature of all of this.  Again, no disrespect intended.

  • @Legendairy - No offence taken, It annoys the living crap out of me when you have women how are out to get men. I DO NOT support rape. I think if a man is caught found guilty I think he should be shoot same for child molesters. If I where president I would push for a law. IF yo are found gulity of the above offences you get one appeal. Then its off to the range. With the advancment in DNA you have less problems with false imprisonment. Getting back to my orginal comment there are women out there thaqt hate men and this chick seems to be one of them.
