Your Pillow Part 2
Your pillow has microorganisms all over it. It has germs, mold, bacteria and dust mites. Here is the link: Link
Dust mites live on your pillow. They feed off the dead skin cells your face leaves on the pillow. The dust mites leave feces on your pillow. It is estimated that a mattress can have “tens of thousands of dust mites.
Each one of those dust mites can produce 20 waste droppings a day right there on your pillow. Here is the link: Link
In other words, when you lay your head on your pillow tonight, you will lay your head on dust mites feces.
Good night.

You, sir, say things that disgust me. I’m now nastified. Time to wash my sheets.
Mine most certainly does not! I wash my sheets twice a week, AND my pillow.
hmph.
DELICIOUS!
I don’t really care, I consider it a symbiotic relationship. Let them eat off my skin flakes, they don’t really bother me. It’s not like they’re bed bugs or anything..
Disgusting.
Odds are the rest of my body will also be laying in dust mite feces.
I probably have so many in this old farmhouse that they wrestle with one another over who shits where.
This is why i just bought a Kirby vacuum. It better suck up all the yuckies
If not, oh well
As long as I can’t tell just by looking…
Nice, now I’ll sleep better, I mean hell, all this time I thought I was sleeping alone!
I was my sheet frequently (: but my pillow :O wooo, though it’s disgusting, as long as I can’t see it by my eyes.. it’s okay .. hahahaha
thanks, Dan. I already wash my sheets once a week, I don’t have time for daily bed laundry!
eww
I read something like this in my environmental health textbook. I wonder if I should vacuum my pillow every day????
Good thing they’re microscopic.
@seedsower - I thought the same thing. We live in a 110-year-old house across the street from a railroad track. I don’t even want to think about all the dust mites we likely have thriving here!
so that’s why i feel like i’m being watched when i masturbate…
The things I do in my bed have scared them all away. I’m the nasty one here, it seems.
Nighty-night.
Maybe I’ll make a pot of coffee and get some work done tonight.
Kathi
This is why I wash them in bleach. Frequently.
also, assuming your bed and pillow are indoors where there also exists a bathroom…its covered in poop! mythbusters says so, it must be true!
I’ve been bitten by bed bugs in an Italian youth hostel. No biggie.
I know. I’m allergic to em too. Lame.
Such is the price for living in a super-developed civilization.
Cool story bro.
@seedsower - Lol- nice!
I’ve known that for a while. I’m going to echo what someone else said. At least it isn’t bed bugs.
I’ve been sleeping / eating / rubbing up on these dust mites my entire life. Why should I care now? yum
lovely
@purethallium - lol, great response
when you’re tired and weary it doesn’t matter where you rest your head
At least they don’t bite like the friggin’ bed bugs and brown recluse spiders do. OUCH! And no wonder I wake up smacking my lips… mmm mmmm, dust mite crap!
I’ll likely drool on them so they stick all over my face, too.
Have you heard about the bugs that live in your eyelashes?
Dan, have you seen this?—> 2 Guys 600 Pillows

Thanks for this wonderful reminder!!!! =/
You suck. Now I need to watch my sheets….again.
If they are on our pillows, shouldn’t they be, not only on the rest of our beds, but throughout the rest of our homes?
Eh. What can you do?
@brittany_7x - OMG, can’t stop laughing!
But they’re MY dust mites. That’s why I take my own pillow with me when we’re traveling. I’m no dust mite tramp who sleeps with disgusting alien hotel pillow poop.
@storyofmylife87 - (:
I’ve slept with worse vermin.
@Quencherita - Why did you watch them the first time? Were they acting suspicious?
that’s why I have an allergy case.
sure my pillow sounds a bit plastic-y, but at least I’m not sleeping on poop. I’m also really allergic to them, if I don’t have my allergy case my eyes can barely open in the morning D:
thanks, not i feel motivated to do some laudry! lol
And did you know that you have germs living inside and on you? Lol
=)
@PervyPenguin - Agreed. As long as they don’t try to eat my skin directly, then I’m fine. I don’t honestly care.
@mommachatter - I was going to mention that! You just beat me to it =) Oh well!
You say “good night” like you’re immune to this. LAWL! *facepalm*
It builds immunity
You know they make these nifty latex foam pillows that dust mites can’t survive in now, right? For about $50, you get a pillow that won’t harbor the nasties and holds it’s shape beautifully. (I’ve had mine for 2 years now and it is freakin’ awesome.)
well shoot…i cant believe i’ve been sleeping on feces for the past 20 years of my lfie…
but im stil alive so i guess i’ll disregard it for now.
Thank you, that was VERY reassuring.
Good thing I vacuum my bed every week. =)
Ignorance is bliss.
sigh* Ok here ya go…. You buy zip covers for your pillows that block the mites and then you wash your bedding twice a week.. My son has a dust might allergy.
I don’t mind. They’re not hurting anything.
Damn, my comments disappeared after I rec’d your post.
I wonder if people know that their keyboards are loaded with germs too, it needs to be cleaned often – wiped down to kill bacteria on a regular basis. There are more evil nasty things growing on a keyboard than what’s in or on a person’s toilet.
Just a little more food for thought.
lol
::Sings:: >>It’s the Circle of life<<
yum
@brittany_7x - LOL. okay that explains everything @purethallium - that scared my eyes
but wow, people can actually vacuum their beds?
Yes I know, but they are all mine!
Eww how creepy, lol
@Momma2babies34 - Imagine how they feel.
Because of the bed bug problem in New York, I got mattress and pillow encasements. Hopefully that helps in providing a barrier between me and the feces.
Don’t let the bed bugs bite!
Trust me I’ve slept in worse.
I found this out a few months back and it made me scared to go to sleep. lol
Oh well, what’s a few more microoganisms.
Everything is covered in microorganisms and bacteria. Everything, even your skin all day everyday. I still didn’t want a visual about dust mites pooping in my bed all day and then me putting my face in it, but microorganisms happen.
I’d rather sleep on dust mite faeces than dead skin.
this is so gross! thanks!
They get washed thrice a week by the maids anyway, so I’m not too worried.
Just so people know, frequently washing your sheets does not kill dust mites. They can still live on the sheets after being washed.
Since my dog is allergic to dust mites… I wash all stuff with De-Mite (I bought it off Amazon.) Seems to be working!
thanks for grossing us out. >.<
That’s why I have silk pillow cases, dust mites can’t live in them
