Mass Messages
I would like to think that I have received more mass messages than anyone on xanga ever. There have been times when I have received as many as 30-40 mass messages a day on xanga.
I have noticed that a large group of people that send out mass messages will open them with “I normally don’t send out mass messages but. . . “ or “I know these are annoying but. . . “
How many mass messages have you sent out on xanga?
Comments (77)
Only two, hahah.
NONE! Go me.
just one. what a mistake that was. i think i’ve finally lived it down.
1 maybe 2
None
Um…ZERO!
One. It was when I was first getting started on xanga and wanted to know the difference in a pulse and a weblog lol.
none i don’t think. but i plan on doing it soon
lol. you get so many because you add everybody.
actually, i sent two. i followed up with an apology for sending the first. final answer.
None, it’s bad enough having just one person pissed at you, why would you want everyone you know pissed at you.
Zero – as far as I’m aware.
I may have been drunk once and cried for attention, but I don’t think I’ve succumbed to the mass message.
I’ve sent more this year than previous years, I’m making it my goal not to send any at all in the comming year.
A handful.
Zero. I’ve never had a reason to. If I felt I did, however, I probably would.
Two or three. I automatically ignore them as soon as I see them, so I don’t expect others to act any differently.
ZERO! (I think!) I’m actually really bad at reading mass messages… when I see them I rarely open them.
One. By accident.
None, I’m annoying enough as it is.
Zero. Unless a comment on your blog counts.
Zero.
none
five or six, I think. they really don’t annoy me that much, lol.
Very few, probably 1 or 2 ever.
And yeah, I hate it when people say they never send them or that they’re sorry for it… I think people need to think about it before they use the feature and they need to use it for the right reasons. About a xanga meet up? Absolutely. Because you’ve updated? Go to hell.
None. A bit of a pet peeve, especially when they are “come read my latest blog.” Isn’t that what the Inbox is for? It’s not a major issue, just irritating, as you see the notice and think it’s a real message and … sigh.
i’ve NEVER sent out a mass message. there are times where they would have been useful but i just never thought about it. since i know how annoying they are, this is probably a good thing.
None.
I send a mass message every time I post because I think my readers are idiots who can’t see their own universal inbox.
when I saw this post, I thought it said mass massages.
Zero.
ZERO
None. And I probably don’t ever intend to either. Maybe it’s just me, but mass messages seem a bit impersonal, and it’s just not my thing.
a goose egg
none…

@TheBigShowAtUD - Haha, oh I remember that infamous message.
None…zero, not a one
@Roadlesstaken - stoppp ittttt!
NOt on Xanga.
@TheBigShowAtUD - Did it bring too much shame on your family?
Never have
None.
I’m not sure. I’d venture a guess around 5, but it might be slightly more than that because I do a mass message reminder when I do a live broadcast. I did quite a few of them in the last two years.
Well, quite a few by my standards anyway.
And I NEVER start them with “I never do this”/”I know you hate mass messaging”. I figure I do it for specific reasons and I only do it occasionally. People probably won’t be mad at me for it. If they are, they probably will delete it and I’ll never know. *shrugs*

Zero.
I’ve never sent a mass message. I won’t ever pretend that people would give a crap.
zip
i dont send mass message.
None. What’s the point of a mass message when you could just post it to your blog?
Does it feel good to proclaim yourself the king of all things? Don’t let that head get too big, your neck will get sore.
Ugh, gotta hate those disclaimers.
I have not sent out a single mass message.
Six at the most
ZERO. It’ll stay that way.
I only send them when it’s that time of the month.
None. Possibly because I don’t know how. Also because I don’t have anything that needs to be said in mass that I can’t put on my blog.
0.
zero!
I think I’ve only done one… and I don’t remember why I would have sent one out, but I know I did.
I haven’t really received any mass messages lately though.
once!!!
once
0! Heh. Maybe that will change now that I have actually begun participating here somewhat. Hm.
Maybe a couple over the years. Not many.

I didn’t even know Xanga has a mass messaging feature.
I never do. I don’t think I ever have… On any social site. But yeah, anywho. It is VERY annoying, especially when you get the “I don’t normally send these,” or an annoying “I know these are annoying, buttttt….” Yeah. I seriously never even bother checking my messages anymore because of all the crap like that. I only check them when I know someone is sending me something. It’s sad. I found messages from forever ago that were real messages. haha
Oh well,

Um once, ever, in nearly 10 yrs here.
None. If I have anything that important I put it on my own blogsite and I figure if they are interested they will look there.
not one, ever.
I didn’t even know I could send mass messages via Xanga.
Only once, when I was asking for advice about something. I think because it was a genuine ask for help rather than a “look at my blog” type thing, it wasn’t too annoying.
I love when people start with the whole, “I know these are really annoying..”. I just think, yes, they are, why are you sending them!?
I get millions of them, but never send any. Probably my fault though, I should stop accepting friend invitations from top blogster wannabes.
None….they are a waste of time.
I don’t know if I’ve even sent out any, yet.
None.
