Xanga Username
Recently someone asked me a question in a message that I think I have received 20-25 times on xanga. She asked, “Why do you call yourself thetheologianscafe.”
I thought this would be a good topic for us.
Why did you pick your username?

It was inspired by a Dave Barry column in which he described a conversation between two women who apparently just blurted out anything that popped in their heads.
I wanted something that sounded intelligent. Now, though, I see that it sounds somewhat pompous.

I’m a morning person, as I start work very early. When I was thinking about doing this account, the sun was rising right outside of my window. Something about a sunrise always fills me with hope and joy no matter what. So that was what I chose for my name to remind me of that moment and of that feeling.
I wanted to be just Saint – a nickname I got after a night out with my sisters (Floozy and Lush). That name was taken, though, so I added VI which stands for Village Idiot. And now everyone calls me Vi, which makes me laugh.
My old username for this same site was too self-pitying and too much the old me. This name is simply my nickname (don’t ask to explain, it has barely anything to do with my real name) and my high school graduation year.

I don’t even remember what it is. Something deep. I was into Japanese translations then and I apparently got the wrong translation of “star”.. what I wanted was the ones in the sky.. not a celebrity. I’ve thought about changing it for a while but I don’t know. People know me as this. I don’t really care so much anymore.

Because there was a game on this website I used to go on, and the first thing you had to do was select one of the usernames they created. One of them was QueenofMean. So I changed the name a little, and now it’s Queen_of_You188. :3 (Also, I couldn’t think of anything better.)

I started blogging as a way of figuring out myself and bettering myself, like a sort of project. Lizarella is a nickname from like 8th grade. Thus, The Lizarella Project

Since I have changed my username a few times with this account (credits) because I said this will be my last username on this account on Xanga, due to credits are harder to get. I dont make many comments as I used to on other Xangans blog.
My husband’s best friend used to call me “the wench,” and (because he and my husband are insane) that got turned into Wrench. And I’m German. Not very creative.
When I started Xanga I didn’t know any other grandmas here. Now I know a lot. Ata means grandparent or grandchild in the language we spoke when we lived in Africa. The_ is in the middle because my grand-daughter thought it should be there.

My username was my nickname in jr high when I was first introduced to the internet. Its always been my username for my internet everythings.
I thought I was cool in HS taking Latin (I was a massive nerd), so that’s how I made mine – it’s “wise girl”
It was probably a poor choice lol. 216 is one of my favourite numbers.

When I was a young teen I was trying to design my own anime-styled cartoon character. At the time, Garishi sounded both fierce and Japanese enough to please me. I did a search on it later and found out it’s actually a real name. Go figure.
There’s nothing really meaningful about my username. It’s one that I’ve used for many accounts for years. “Crono” is simply the name of a classic video game character, and “09″ is my favorite number.

Mine is the name of a character in story I begin writing about 17 years ago. I made up the name. He is the first machine capable of human level consciousness. I adopted the name as my online username back in the late 90′s. I use it everywhere. Now it has become less associated with that character and more associated with my online identity.

carole is my first name, and there are many many caroles on the internet apparently. so i had to add a number behind my name, and 911 was easy to remember (emergency phone number in the US, right?).
if i could choose, all my screen names everywhere would be “carole”, as i dont really like nicknames. that or im just not very creative.
but i see that a lot of pple on here are very creative indeed and have found really cool usernames =)
i’m a music/band geek and i wanted to somehow show that in my username. i thought of interlude and it was taken, so i added the first letter of my name to the end.
I was married at 19. My husband and I both enrolled into the same college and started our freshman year there as a married couple. We quickly became known all over campus as “The Married Freshmen”, which I found funny. (How odd is it for complete strangers to walk up to you in the hall at college and say, “YOU’RE the Married Freshmen!!!!”) I came to Xanga the same year to keep up with a friend from high school. He left Xanga, I stayed, and I’ve never had enough credits to change it–even though I’m 25 years old and freshman year was the only year at that school we completed.

I liked studying Latin in highschool and as it is widely used in science and science is my career, I never lost that interest. Indomitus means wild or untamed and is obviously the Latin root for the English word indomitable. “E” is an initial. I was inspired by the song Bang A Gong [Get It On] by T. Rex “She’s an untamed youth, that’s the truth, with her cloak full of eagles.” How sweet is that song?!

Years back our youth group was called “Aslan’s Pride.” We had a meeting room in the church gym basement called “The Lion’s Den.” I was called “Mom Lion.” When it came to finding a name, it was perfect to call myself “Aslan’s Daughter.” It simply means God’s daughter.

To me rainddrops signified washing away my old life, and starting a new life. Like a good spring rain.

I use the name “turquoisecow” for most other instances of me on the web, but when I mentioned I was thinking about starting a new blog, and a friend recommended Xanga to me, she told me that I could not use that name because she was tired of it. I had the idea that I wanted the name to be kind of depressing and lonely-sounding. It was fall at the time and I was seeing how pretty the leaves were and that’s when the name hit me. Then I came up with the little blurb in the “about me” section and it all came together.

I I can’t remember if I was in Turkey or if it was after I returned to the states that I started using Xanga. My best friend thought it would be a good way for us to know what each other was thinking now that we were going to live thousands of miles apart. Since we pretty much share the same brain cell, we could easily decipher what the other was thinking. While we were living in Turkey, when I didn’t want to give a full decription of something or wanted to be coy, I would say the phrase “and_stuff”. Amy thought it was cute and when she created the site for me, dubbed that my name because it reminded her of me.
