I <3 the Xanga Team
You ever realize how much we criticize the xanga team?
Sure xanga has not kept up with Facebook. But then again, neither has google now.
I am convinced that whoever helped xanga grow in the beginning is probably no longer even with the xanga team.
But day in and day out the xanga team comes back and works hard to keep this place running. I am sure they wish xanga would grow too. I am sure they could all list 100 features they wish they could add. Facebook has a team of 1600+ employees adding features.
But day in and day out the xanga team has to hear all of the haters. They don’t get to respond to the attacks.
But they still get on xanga and do their best to keep this place running. And we get to have all this fun every day because of their efforts.
Thank you Xanga for keeping this place running so we can all come on here and have fun.

Biz Stone was a big deal in getting Xanga going, he now works for, and helped start Twitter.
Yay! =)
I<3 them too. I <3 you too, Dan.
Kum ba yah, my Lord, kum ba yah…
Have you seen my open letter to you, Dan?
=D
Since folks like me get this for free,I say beggers can’t be…well, shouldn’t be choosey
Jolly good stuff!
God forbid that this place should ever become like farcebook.
I do love coming here!
They aren’t Nazis at all. They pretty much accept people of all backgrounds.
true story, <3
soo….
how much are they paying you?
many thanks to Xanga team, we appreciate.
Don’t they get paid? =|
I love them, they are the best, try getting a message to the owner of facebook and have him reply.
Xanga still is the best blogging community on the internet.

i love them too. Thank You Xanga Team!
This is nice. I hope they see it!
I find so far most people reasonable and pleasant on this Xanga site.
Go Xanga team!
Good commercial word! Thanks
Hey fix my footprints DAN if you love them so much. Im getting lots of views SINCE OCTOBER and the hits dont appear in footprints which means the external hits on facebook are not showing up on footprints. I used to get Hits from lousiana referer facebook. not anymore…..until they do i put in suhock…..they stink until they get my footprints fixed what a lowzy post. I called and then didnt even email me back.
True that.
Fair enough, I know what it’s like to work for a glitchy website.
HOORAY FOR THE X-TEAM!
Aaaaaawwwww….. How sweet of you.
I’m glad Xanga remains a blogging community, a community for bloggers and commenters and bystanders, and doesn’t try to do too darn much. Facebook went ape poop and I bailed out of the flaming nonsense. Lotsa other sites are just for kids too. Xanga remains mostly reasonable and pleasant and for grown ups, or at least nearly grown ups like me. Praise God, someone cares more about quality than quantity, even including you traffic hounds among us!
Now, can anyone tell me exactly what does KUM BA YAH mean? Oh Lord, what does that mean?
…
I love that I can rattle on and on here and not be stopped by word limits. FB is ok for a brief thought or message to someone but here you can let yourself go and write all you want. It’s more a journal for me and that’s why I like it.
I <3 the Xanga Team!!
Agreed, running this place must be a nightmare of complexity and potential worry, but I love Xanga and anyone involved with running it is an awesome person in my book!
yay for Eugenia but this post would have been epic if it had not been stolen BAHAHAHAHAHA
Here here!
Indeed, Xanga does rock. I’ve sticked with it for a couple of years now.
yayy! THANKS TEAM XANGA!
made me wonder, do you work for Xanga?! lol
rec for xanga and the xanga team – I’m sure they are doing their best day in and day out
D
There is no place like Xanga.
There is no place like Xanga.

Hey, I’m home!!!!!!!!
Love this.
good post.
I love xanga.
but it’s fun to criticize people, coz it give the idea that we can do a better job…
haha
I wish they would fix the photo feature but they’re busy with blocking an ip address.
I like Xanga pretty good myself!
exactamente
I don’t like to criticize the xanga team because they keep this website up and running for all of us. one day if they so please they can just shut everything down without warning!
i agree 100%. but the team USED to talk to us. john had his own site and he was always updating his pulse. natalia was always blogging too and it was SOOOO nice to get to interact with the leaders. that was a big deal as it helped us to feel a sense of warmth here. now it seems colder because the owner doesn’t blog now.
Amen to that!
Xanga is still cool
They paying you? J/k. I’m glad they are keeping xanga simpler that FB. Bigger and more complex is not necessarily better.
I love it here way more than facebook
xanga is pretty fun
I GREATLY appreciate them! When I’ve needed Xanga help in the past, they’ve helped me. I am glad they work so hard to keep Xanga up and running. HUGS to them and to you for posting this!
HUGS!
I am not really in the loop, but I thought I would add to this. To me, Xanga and Facebook are two totally different things. I wouldn’t even bother adding features like FB if I was Xanga. I would try and maximize what is good about Xanga, which is something I don’t think they have really done. Xanga is about blogging. If I were the Xanga team I would be reading as many blogs as possible and featuring really good ones. People have become famous from their blogs on other sites.
I would feature good bloggers, which would draw other good bloggers, and eventually that would lead to advertising etc… Facebook is a social networking site. Everyone I know uses it to keep in touch with friends, and family and reconnect with old friends etc… When I started Xanga I didn’t know 99% of the people who commented. I met those people through the blog rings, which I think are not even used anymore. I used to read the funniest, most entertaining blogs on here, and half of them never got any attention. Those people are long gone. Maybe xanga started out as a public diary, but I think it should maximize it’s blogging potential. Then I think it would really take off. Lots of people love books, written in a sort of blogging style, look in the essay section of a local bookstore. People like a good read and will come back for more. There, that’s my take, but I have said that before and they never listen, so when Xanga goes under, don’t cry to me Xanga team.
Hear, hear.
Personally..I have never had a problem on Xanga but I am not one of your more controversial blogggers…my blog is rather mundane. I ran into a lot of problems on Facebook not from the people who run it but from readers who did not like what I wrote and were not adult enough to confront me in person about what I wrote (alll of them know me in person).
I love xanga. It doesn’t need to change at all. I could do without xanga chat, etc. Keep it simple.
I don’t hate on Xanga, I like it just the way it is. And I definitely don’t want another facebook. Ew. One is enough.
Word!! I totally agree with you!!!
Well.. as for me why I stay here and love being here is what Xanga don’t have. Not what Xanga should imitate. It is better this way or all the weird kids will come and freak out like they did in MySpace, Youtube and facebook. Those places are all screwed up now. Many people are afraid to go on there.. MySpace is laying off employees, Youtube is scrambling around for innovation because the kids there want things different everyday in everyway. As for us in here in Xanga who stayed for all the years loving what we got, the true blogger will still be here. I am a blogger and I only need one blog. I had Youtube but I left youtube for good, promising never to go back. I am in Facebook too and have more than 4000 people following me there. . Still, when I am here in Xanga, I just feel I am home. That’s all it matters for me.

I’m back, it was indeed the right decision :]
Sucking up again, huh?
(Its ok though, I
i LOVE XANGA! Been here for almost six years now and it is my home, it is my forever! There’s just nothing like this place. Thank you Xanga Team!
Xanga Team NEVER appears on XTV. EVER.
I have no problem with new things they can’t do; More older things they seem to refuse to do/add.
I agree! I love xanga!
eProps.
I have a few other sites, and some may be more technically advanced. Not one gives the feeling of personal interaction we get her at Xanga, though.
Honestly, FB has its pros, but can you imagine a xangan trying to sum up their feelings for that day or even for that moment in under 420 characters… and yes, every punctuation and space is considered a ‘character’. lol.
i’m glad xanga is here. i love hearing all your rants, raves and odd ball comments that won’t land you in jail by the pc police.
I love them, but I wonder what they spend all of their time doing. As someone who works in IT and programming, I think they do a bad job of telling us what they’re working on or implementing features in a timely feature. The unique thing they have at Xanga is a community. However, the platform they have us on is almost crippling. They always roll out a feature with 10 new features planned to go on top, and then they never take things any further. At this point they should ditch the custom blogging platform and move us to WordPress, but still keep the community tied together through some solid integration. They’ve managed to keep this community completely isolated. It would be awesome to have Flickr integration, or pulses connected to Twitter and Facebook, and so on. Or how about a mobile application? We’ve only had smart phones for about 6 years and they’ve STILL not made a phone application. WTH.
So yes, I love the team and their hard work, but I wonder where all that hard work is going. I want a roadmap. I want things to be excited about. I want to see progress. This place is becoming the geocities of the blogging world, and I feel a complete lack of effort on their end.
Yes, thank you!
<3
Yeppp. Amen to that
I’ve been on Xanga for quite awhile.. a long while, actually. And I never once had the thought of abandoning Xanga for other sites. Sure, I’ve moved from Myspace to Facebook to Twitter and who knows where I’ll be heading in the future.. but I always come back to Xanga at the end of the day
.. just makes me feel like I’m home, that’s all..So yes, thanks a lot, Xanga
I don’t complain about the Xanga Team. I’ve always loved them. I remember back when we’d have the video chats with Natalia and Eugenia and sometimes others. Good times.
@lonelywanderer2 - Amen.
