Is it me or . . .
Apparently guns sales have gone up on the glock pistol since a person who was mentally ill used the gun in a shooting. Here is the link: Link
On the one hand, you would think we would be safer with less guns. On the other hand, it makes it easier on the shooter if none of the victims own a gun.
What do you find more frightening, more people owning guns or mass shootings with no one armed?

Is That Any Way To Touch Your Mother?
Stephanie Seymour is coming under fire for some photos that were taken of her on the beach with her son. Her son said the photos are no big deal because they are an intimate family. Here is the link: Link
Are the photos too intimate for a mother and son?

Team Fatso Vs. Team Thinspo
Team Fatso Vs. Team Thinspo
I have noticed a little conflict recently with the fat people of xanga and the thin people on xanga. As always, I see it as sort of my responsibility to be a peacemaker and help everyone work through this conflict.
The best way to work out our differences with another person or a group of people is to think of their positive attributes.
So thin people, lets look at the positive side of being fat.
1. Fat people are hugable. You don’t thik about this until you wrap your arms around a fat person. Fat people just fit in a hug.
2. Fat people always have good stuff in the fridge. You ever visit a thinspo person’s house and check out the fridge? Exactly. Fat people know how to stock a fridge.
Now fat people, lets look at the positive side of being thin.
1. Thin people typically are more attractive. They are pretty to look at. You want pretty people around because it just brightens up the day.
2. Thin people are weak. You don’t have to worry about getting in a fight with them. You can always kick their butt.
By looking at the positive, we can help ourselves get past the negative.
And besides, none of you will ever be as hot as this chick.
I hope my little talk here is going to make us all love each other more.

A photo has emerged of Ricebunny topless. I guess it was only a matter of time before a photo like this came out with her being so popular on youtube now.
Here is the photo:

Rape: Pulling off A Hijab
You know we have several women on xanga who wear the hijab.
This got me thinking about if someone were to pull the hijab off, if it would be rape or at least sexual assault. If a woman was wearing a bikini and someone just pulled off the bikini, it would be rape or sexual assault. If a guy held a woman down and forced the woman’s shirt off, we might charge him with rape or sexual assault.
If a guy pulls the hijab off a woman, is he guilty of rape/sexual assault?

Deleting Comments
Recently someone sent me a private message and asked me to delete her comments on one of my posts.
She could delete her own comments but what she really wanted was for me to delete her comments plus the comments of the person who was commenting back and forth with her in my comment box.
If someone wanted you to delete their comments from your site, would you delete them?

Congresswoman Shot
A congresswoman was shot. It was reported earlier that she was dead. Then it was reported she is alive. The reports are conflicted but it appears that several people were wounded.
Immediately the news media started reporting about him. They linked his myspace (I know. I didn’t realize myspace was still around). They linked his youtube account. Here is the link: Link
He is a left-wing nut. It appears there is no shortage of those these days.
The media will talk all about him in the coming days. They are essentially making him an immediate celebrity.
The media blocks out information about rape victims. At sporting events, they take the camera off the person and don’t play it when someone runs on to the field.
Do you think the news media should ignore the personal information about crazy shooters?

Drakonskyr – A Tribute Post
I was sad to see yesterday that Drakonskyr had shut down his site.
At some level, it felt like the ending of an era. I will never forget the first post I read by Drak. Oddly, he was being mildly critical of me and my rather obvious site. But after reading his post, I just sort of connected and then we talked on IM a few times. I have said before and I will say again that there is really little on xanga that I would call “writing talent.” But I have always believed that Drak had the ability to some day be a professional writer. He was known as the guy that you had to read with a dictionary present.
I also remember a time about 5 years ago when he defended me against some attack that was going on in the xanga world. That was Drak’s way. He criticized me in his first post because the masses were singing my praises. But when the tide turned against me, he defended me. I think he had the ability to go against the masses and the tide of political opinion. He was always there for me and encourage me when I was making fun of the handicapped, retarded, rape victims and fat people.
I ran a few contests years ago asking who was the hottest guy on xanga and Drak won every one of those contest except for one. It appeared that the lady folk really enjoyed him. One time he wrote a post saying he and I were the same person. I think I had 3-4 messages from women in the next 24 hours flirting with me.
Drak will be missed. Let it be known that I am proud to have known him. I realize that some of us step in the xanga world and then one day step out. It is the nature of any activity. We participate but then find other interest. Drak has left us but he will not leave our memory.
I was going to write a post one day about how I thought were the most popular sites over the last 6 years. I was going to put them in order giving a certain bias to those who carried their popularity for the longest period. (I did not write that post because of the current crowd that would have been butt hurt over the order). But Drak would have been very close to the top of that list. He endured and entertained over time.
I salute Drak and wish him well as he continues his journey in life.
Who were you sad to see leave xanga?

Your Protected Photos are Not As Private As You Think
Your protected photos on xanga may not be as private as you thought. Many of you have posted a protected post at one time or another. Many of you have also posted a photo on your site protected. And probably many of you thought that meant that the photo itself was not public.
That is actually incorrect. Every photo you post on xanga including your protected photos is actually public.
I have asked a few ladies on xanga to help me illustrate my that point. I asked them to post photos of themselves as protected photos on their site. Now we are going to show how those photos are still public.
Lets take Kett for example.
She posted the following photo on a protected post.
But this photo is actually public. She posted it in a protected post. You just can’t see it.
But do you realize the source of that photo is public. And the source of every photo on xanga is public even if you make it protected.
Here is the actual source link for the photo: Link The source of the photo is a link that looks like this: http://x46.xanga.com/8c5e030bd0631274248010/b213706587.jpg
Now here is another example from Kett:
The above photos is on a protected post. But here is the source link: Link And this is what the source link looks like: http://x13.xanga.com/6eee200736533274250097/b213706585.jpg
This is the lovely jmelove-x
The above photo is also a protected photo on her site. But once again, the source of the photo is actually public.
Here is the source link: Link Here is the actual link written out: http://x07.xanga.com/348f905423c33274251963/o218641804.jpg
Here is the beautiful Miss_Vincent
You guessed it. This is her photo and the photo is protected. You can not see it if you go to her site. But the source link is available.
Here is the source link: Link http://x4b.xanga.com/62cf775608631274252154/z218642151.jpg
Here is another photo of her that is protected:
Here is the source link: Link http://x11.xanga.com/a3bf715106731274252072/z218642090.jpg
Now many of you are probably wondering if this is true. So go check for yourself. Go to any photo that you have that is protected on xanga. Go to that page. Now if you are in firefox, just go to the top of your page and click on the link marked “view.” Then click on the dropdown link marked “page source.” Or if you are not in firefox, just go to the page of your protected photo and hit the “control” button and hit the “u” button on your keyboard.
Now you will see a pop up with a bunch of code. That is the code for that page of your xanga site. Go down about a third of the page and look for your photo link. Don’t look for the photo link itself because it will be protected. Go to the actual source link. The start of the link should start with something like “http://” it should have a letter and a few numbers and then it should say “xanga.com” and then it should have a series of numbers with a “.png” or “jpg” ending. Now copy and paste that code. Sign out of your site and then look. Your photo is public.
Your photo can be accessed without even signing into xanga. It is a public photo. Now I know what you are thinking. That is a bunch of numbers and they are random. But the numbers are not as random as you think.
But either way, A simple program could be designed to go through each number and another program could be added to that program to identify only the numbers that have a photo. So a person could pretty quickly narrow down the photos and then have the photos play out one at a time for a few seconds and find what they are looking for. It would be impossible for them to identify the photo with the blog unless your face was showing.
Either way, your protected photos are not as private as you thought.
