Recommending My Critics
Since xanga added the recommend click a few years back, I have used it at times to recommend people who have been critical of me.
My thinking is that I am stating an issue and that some people will disagree and might give the other side of an issue. So I thought it is best to recommend their post. Sometimes for one reason or another, I am the topic or something I did was the topic. But it felt only fair to give the other person a hearing.
Do you think I should recommend my critics?

Why not?
It’ll be nice reading other people’s views and thoughts on topics you put up on here
xo’
Actually, that’s one thing I’ve always liked, seeing you rec posts that I know put you on blast. It’s respectable, in my opinion.
I don’t think you have to– people who agree with the sentiment will reccomend it themselves and spread the entry that way.
But I think your attitude is a good one to have. Being receptive to criticism is very respectable.
Yup, you’ve done that with me in the past, and I appreciate it. It’s nice when people don’t take criticism so personally.
haha, you just gave one of the secrets to getting on top blogs. I like to rec my critics when I get them as well. It’s always sad when they block me and I can’t do it.
just dont criticize your recomenders and i think you’ll be alright
Well, I think it is kind of ironic. And humorous that those who hate you the most depend on your recs to make them Xanga famous. People put too much energy into being angry over silly things.
I think besides a little snot-nosed brat no one has written anything about me. She was just sore that I called her out for being a loser.
Better to be talked about than forgotten as my old, rich, grandma who is about to knock off and hopefully leave me her money, says.
Awesome…I’m a critic. I just thought you enjoyed Caturday.
@mtngirlsouth - Agreed
I think it is a good way to let them know you saw it and to get others opinions about the situation.
Most certainly it’s good. No news is bad news.
Sure, I think it’s cool and kind of humorous.
I think you should recommend anything that’s worth reading.
Sure. Whatever.
It shows you to be a Mighty Man of Valor.Well done!
I think it makes you look like a bad ass. Like someone is talking shit on you, and instead of hiding from it or calling it out, you tell everybody else to look at it, and it’s almost like mocking the person saying it. I admire it, honestly.

That’s true except when Dan rec’s something, a lot more people see the rec and go to that post.
I have actually adopted that idea for myself too, I think it is a good tactic to make discussion – the down side is that when it is just a nasty post that has your name it would make for a bad environment. So I think the answer would be – rec within reason.
I don’t think you should have so many critics in the first place. I couldn’t recommend them but it’s brave and classy that you do.
I think it shows you’re a mature adult (and not all adults are mature unfortunately) and you can handle the “heat” of disagreement. I think it’s good that you rec those who disagree with you.
I’d recommend my haters too (if I had any).
if such works for you- it however does not and rarely if ever has worked for me. there is a certain perception of other’s style that allows for – oh say the point here- recommending critics to work to our upbuilding or as it has most failed to do nothing more than me admiting they are right *defeating not just the point but my very voice)
You don’t have to, but it sure makes my Xanga experience more entertaining.
Old saying . . . keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer . . .
Makes it entertaining.
Absolutely, and for all the right reasons.
No harm at all….. But I’m still waiting on you to rec one of mine!
Do I have to bash you in order to get a rec from you??
i think it’s a very sweet and thoughtful gesture. : )
Sure, why not?
Of course.
Recommending your critics builds the Legend!
I’ve already seen some. You have a way with people,Dan. I once saw a preacher on t.v. that said,”do some people just rattle your cage?” now, you’re rattling theirs. lol
I have noticed that you do that a lot. Any time someone has a go at you, you respond to them in a diplomatic way and recommend it too! It’s almost like being the “bigger” man!
i hate you Mr Dan !!! now rec my posts!!!
Nah. Screw ‘em.
@ItIsAllGravy - who would block you?
i think it’s awesome, and i’ve noticed you doing it before. keep it up, dan.
even bad publicity is good publicity
Sure, seems like a pretty mature thing to do really.
I find it interesting – if I had a hater (or simply just someone mentioning me with an opposing viewpoint) I’d probably rec, too
I don’t really have any critics yet that I know of but when I get some I will surely rec them just for the novelty of it.
Why the Mass email Dan… why..!!??!!!?!!?!!!
I think it says a lot when a person can take some healthy criticism and give props to the fact that we all learn and grow from others’ points of view. Keep truckin’
I’m kookoo for coco puffs.
is this about the you know whos….screen cap and report gang
yipez!
Sure why not?
The impact of counterfeit has reached every corner of the world and many fashion companies are involved such as Luis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada and Hermes . The Kelly bag is much smaller than its counterpart the birkin bag and was initially either 28 cms or 32 cms.
I think you should rec whomever you please, and you should stop ending every single post with a question.
Yes. Plus it’s hilarious and disarming.
I think when a person who wants attention badly realizes that you do this, he would jump in the bandwagon of criticizing you even though he didn’t really mean to. But then, having haters, somehow helps your popularity in a good way. At least, IMO.
