  • Protected Post – Rant

Every once in awhile I need to rant so I put it in a protected post to keep it with my close friends.  Please do not repeat anything from my protected post.

    1.  Is it me or does half of xanga hate America?  I am not talking about the people outside of the U.S.  I am talking about Americans.  Here we have the killing of Osama bin Laden.  And people can’t let us enjoy or celebrate the moment.  They have to kill it by telling us it is wrong to celebrate and that the U.S. isn’t that wonderful.  Osama was a bad person.  He deserved to be killed.  Let people celebrate.  I worked with Muslims the day after it was announced he was killed and the Muslims were celebrating his death.  Yet on xanga, we are told we are not that special.  Osama was responsible for killing 3000 people.  It is a victory to see him dead.  He deserved a terrible death.

    2.  I think half of the “secrets” on the “secrets post” are written by the people who are being talked about.  I see the ugliest people on xanga being told in a “secret” that 10 people want to sleep with them.  How could that be?

    3.  I loved reading a post rebuking us for participating in drama on xanga by a guy who has written 2-3 negative posts about me.  He called the post “xanga hypocrisy” or something.  He deleted my comment on the post but I told him it was hilarious that he wrote a post about hypocrisy when he spoke against me for doing the savetheboobs campaign and yet was the first one to a site when a woman said she was posting her boobs.  I also had a woman tell me that after she mentioned that she gave me her boobs that he went and left creepy messages to her acting “concerned.”  Don’t tell anyone but his name is Greek.  (In general, you should never delete my comments because I can tell more people in a post than would ever read your site).

    4.  I see everyone is recommending pulses now.  It is nice to see pulses getting more recommends than posts.

    5.  What is with the hardcore atheists who write 20-30 posts about religion?  If you hate religion that much, maybe secretly you are curious about religion.  If I was an atheist, I might mock religious people once or twice.  But 20-30 times?

    6.  This year with my savetheboobs campaign, I am going to have women send me photos of themselves in uniform.  For example, if a woman works at McDonald’s she will send in a topless photo with her uniform on and open.  I think this will be a real hit when it comes to nurses and other specialty jobs.

Do you like the savetheboobs uniform idea?

Comments (144)

  • Is the irony the fact that this isn’t protected?

  • Hahaha. Favorite Xangan? I do believe so.

  • Good thing you put this on protected!!!  The people you mention might be very offended.  As for savetheboobs, anything with boobs has to be a good thing!

  • I totally and 100% agree with number one. What in the world in wrong with people these days?

  • I think SaveTheBoobs should take place more than once a year.

  • I definitely agree with your atheist point. I try and tell people but they don’t really understand. I’m an atheist because I don’t care about religion, and I would rather write about a lot more other stuff than religion. The only time I blog about religion is when Xanga annoys me because I noticed the majority of people I read don’t understand the concept of an atheist.

[(In general, you should never delete my comments because I can tell more people in a post than would ever read your site).]
    LOL you tell ‘em.

  • I agree with number 2…a lot of them are obviously thrown in at the time of publication.

  • I agree with number 5.

  • Not to spoil things but didn’t Playboy already do that with women from different businesses posing?

I’ve often wondered why Christianity gets attacked so often.  Why not Islam?

Hey, I’m the ugliest person on Xanga and no one has written anything about me.

  • >.> I agree with most of your post. and your savetheboobs… xD haha.I couldn’t do it. :O I don’t have a job.

  • I’m glad you were able to get all this off your chest in a super secret protected post. I feel so honored to be on your elite protected list. Your secrets are safe with me; I will not breathe a word.

  • I like points 2 and 5.

  • Yeah, the Xanga Secrets thing is mainly just a game of favorites. Also, I have no problem with people being glad he’s gone – just feels a bit off that we’d party in the streets about it.

  • There’s a reason why you’re so popular Dan, it’s because you’re awesome. I agree with the secrets posts, I do think some xanga users are guilty of writing them about themselves. As for the America haters and people who cause drama, they are sad and pathetic and most people are just doing it for attention anyway. I love the save the boobs idea and I will participate this time. Although I am currently unemployed :(

  • What I have seen of this secrets phenomena is that the people who control the site are those who are spoken of the most.

    -Coral

  • I am touched to be on your protected list, with several hundred of your closest friends. ;) ;)

LOL I only got mentioned on secrets once and I swear I didn’t submit it. I submitted a nice comment about somebody else, but not this time.
I’m still laughing at the possible doom to those who delete your comments. I swear I never will!
As for the uniform idea, sure except of course most women don’t wear uniforms to work so you won’t get many. ;)

  • Good thing this is protected.  I’d be embarrassed if I wrote what I thought was a protected post only for it to be public and everyone would hate me.

  • Wow… I definitely didn’t know about #3. Looks like I need to brush up on my Xanga history. Or at least, make a flowchart of who did what to whom.

I also do not really understand why atheists feel the need to write so many posts. It’s like they’re defensive, only they’re always going on the offensive.

  • Dear Dan,
Be honored that a lot of Xangans possibly got the news about Osama bin Laden’s death from your posts.
Half of everybody hates half of everyone else. So perhaps you’re right. You can possibly gauge the comments you receive to find the answer.
Half the people on Xanga possibly think you invented breasts, or at least think you came up with the boobs for breast cancer idea.
Uniforms are a great idea. I even bared my breasts for you last year. I was naked, as usual, and not in uniform.
I don’t mind recommendations at all, when they’re directed at my posts. I can’t “pulse” too well, though. I don’t like limits on how many words collide on my posts. I don’t think I’ve ever recommended one of your posts. I’ll recommend this one.
You have recommended some of my posts.
Didn’t somebody or other want to sleep with you in a secret?
Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool

  • This brings back memories….I worked for a bunch of Iranians as my first job out of College. Brokers..thought Holy Shit this ain’t what they taught us in Management 101. McVey blew up the Mora Building…It was real quiet at work for a while. Head Hancho was named Homey. Pretty cool to be named Homey.

  • Hey I didn’t say don’t celebrate, and I don’t hate America, I just think it’s an odd occurrence to see so many people celebrate someone’s death, bad as he was.

Celebrate the end of the war/troops coming home? That’s cool, grab a nurse and have at it. But Osama? Someone said it earlier in a way I thought was hilarious and true “if we shot Ronald McDonald, McDonald’s is STILL gonna be open tomorrow”. I can’t take to the streets and cheer if someone dies, especially if we’re killing him for what we did x100,000.

Also, boobs, I dunno if they need anything to make them better. They’re boobs!

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - Because it’s not politically correct to attack islam.

  • I think this story shows a more innocent side of Osama.

    http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23946299-osamas-family-gave-me-two-rabbits-as-a-present-says-12-year-old-neighbour.do
Haha, and in America I feel the word atheist means nothing more than “I hate Christianity.”

  • @crystal_air - oh yeah, that’s right.

@tendollar4ways - Uncle Mo…a lock for the derby?

  • Edited: Oh, you forgot to post this on protected.

Re 1 Osama, Anti-American: This is my feeling too. Celebration is expressive– it shows outwardly what we feel inside. It’s more than understandable to be glad at Mr. Bin Laden’s death. I think that many anti-celebratory remarks are gutt reactions. It’s a good thing for people to be sensitive for dignity of the dead, and I’m glad that there are people who’s instincts align them against dancing and hooting at Mr. Bin Laden’s death.

But outside this instinctive repulsion, I really don’t understand how opposition to happiness over Mr. Bin Laden’s death. There’s nothing redemable about the man– even the Bin Laden family have disowned this dude.

Re 4 ‘Reccing Pulses: I’m against reccomending comments and pulses. I don’t like the idea of drawing attention away from and devaluing the entry. If good comments arise from thought-provoking entries, then it should be the entry that’s rewarded by the ‘rec. A lot of times, it’s even hard to understand the ‘reced comment without the context of the entry itself.

Re 5. Atheists.:  I think we’re obsessive, cloistered people. Or maybe this is more my self-perception.

Re 6 Boobs: That’s awesomely kinky! I just fear there’s risk of the women’s employerers seeing their pictures in uniform and them losing their jobs.

  • Extremists cheered over the loss of American lives on 9/11, if we cheer for the death of a person, how are we any less barbaric than they are? Who cares if some saw it as justified, it’s nothing worth celebrating about, it makes people look like neanderthals dancing around a fire. I’m not the type to believe in such a thing as “good” or “evil”, Osama was a crazed and deluded man, (I will say the same about his followers) who saw that the deaths of those in the Twin Towers were justified in their own means.
If we cheer for the deaths of those we consider our “enemies”, how are we different? How are we morally superior? The U.S will just find another face of terrorism and the war will continue. In fact, I think people are already starting to forget about the war. America is like Disneyland, if you were to go to a fucked up country enough to let its troubles sink in and go back to the U.S, you would have forgotten all about it and life goes on.

And no, I don’t hate the U.S, just the people. However, I would say the same thing about people all over the world, they fucking piss me off.

  • Still a perv, I see. Dirty old man.

  • I’m glad that he’s gone.  But to celebrate his death? No.

  • Lol, thank you Dan.

  • Now see, this is a great post, whatever you do for save the boobs this year, I promise I won’t write an argumentative breast cancer awareness post and just be supportive, and cooperative with the one you write.

  • 1.  Some people believed “Bush did it”  Actual song / music video about it.

    2.  LOL!!!!

    3.  I think I saw that comment.

    4.  Pulses are cool. But I think that’s what FB/Twitter is for. Xanga should be more blogging imo.

    5.  I feel somewhat the same way. It’s like, I see your point. Cool arguments. I’m still a believer. BUT I DO EMPATHIZE with them. Some Christians don’t get it when “No” means “No” it’s like “Belief Rape”  If anyone says NO to advance but a person continues, it’s assault/attempted rape. So I think some Christians need to stfu and leave some people alone.  I’m a Christian btw.

    6.    I’ll stay out of this lane.

  • LOL this so isn’t protected. But it’s about time you started giving your opinion on stuff. You’re like a robot who knows how to post pictures.

Wait a second. Is this for reals? or Irony? Robot status reaffirmed.

  • @Pink_TeaCups - Oh the irony of it ;)

@PervyPenguin -  You’re a smart cookie for sure. And I concur with you greatly. You said all that I felt so clearly.

    @Lordv16 - I concur.

    OP:

Atheists care about religion because it affects them. They are allowed to care when it’s forced on them by loony politicians.

  • Just shut up and show me the boobs.

  • 1. I’m not sad that Osama was finally defeated, but I do think it’s crass to actually celebrate (stand around cheering etc). Having to kill him was a grim task even if he asked for it. That said, I love America and the American Isn’t So Great contingent always seem to be at the ready to start in, and it’s really boring.

    2. lol. I haven’t been paying much attention to that Secrets thing at all. The big names on there are mostly people I don’t know. I’m not up on my Xanga trivia anymore.

    3. ROFL. It’s funny when the people decrying hypocrisy are hypocrites.

    4. It’s cool but since more thought and work go into posts (generally) it might be a bummer for those who really work on those posts.

    5. I don’t get why atheists write so much about religion. It’s as if they define themselves by their lack of a religion instead of some affirmative ethic or philosophy. It seems negative.

    6. I never did agree with savetheboobs so I don’t have anything to say about this.

  • Absolutely!   ROFL…Got me thinking  too.  about Secret (Secrets’)…Love Pulse rec

  • Love the idea. Gotta go out with a bang.

  • First of all I felt special because I thought this was a protected post at first haha. I didn’t know you and Greek had issues. That’s lame cause I think you both are cool people :)
I think a lot of those secrets are bs too.

  • I personally am just glad that America could celebrate something for once. Then all the people who think that they know soo much better went and ruined it. /: Such is life, I suppose. You’re still my favorite. :)

  • I agree with a lot of this except the one about Bin Laden. But I don’t think this is protected. :P

  • 1.  I guess I can say that killing him wasn’t going to bring back all those people who died and that it doesn’t really punish him, I mean, we’re all going to die. But it already happened. At least the government honored the Islamic way for his funeral.

    5. I feel a little ashame when atheists know more stuff about my own religion than I do.

  • I’m wondering what your purpose is in saying in the title that this post is “protected” – you wanted to see how many clicks you gain when people see that word, hoping to be on the protected list…? :P I checked your blog first to see if this was public or not ;) for the boobs thing: I hate the idea but my solution to that is to not participate! People shouldn’t try to stop it when so many more want the boobs. Just don’t click on everything that has boobs or “savetheboobs” in its title, that simple. As for the rest, no opinion.

  • I would totally do savetheboobs this year with my uniform if I knew no one would ever see it… Otherwise, I’d be fired lol. But I love the idea!

  • For people living in America who are unhappy here and have nothing but critisms for America, “if you don’t it, then get the hell out.”

  • hahahahahaha.

    oh dan.

  • yum. unprotected post, + featured so I get to be a “close friend” of yours for today.

    1. You’re too old to understand the younger folks.

    2. those are silly3. Your xanga posts are always thought-provoking, you’re intelligent, but everyone makes you seem like an asshole. 4. meh5. yeah. Atheists really hate religion.6. you should ask 14-year-olds who work at McDonald’s to send you pics of their chest. I’m sure they’d be more than happy to.

  • I agree about number 2 and 5 (: (: but I swear I’ve never submitted my secret. I hope you don’t think it’s me who wrote those things

  • I don’t care for celebrating it but I am glad he is gone. There is a difference. No matter the death it should not be something we go around gleeful about. it is something that should be a bit of solmenty to it. he did harm so the fact that he is unable to do anymore is a great thing. I don’t feel like making myself look like killing people should be a cause of celebration though.

i agree about the secrets. people are egotistical and i think the creators are the ones doing so.

well i am sure you caught yourself being a hypocrite once or twice. ;]

the reccing pulses/comments is annoying especially the share your comment bit. it throws me off every time.

and…religion affects everyone as it is so thick in this country. some seem obsessed about trying to disprove it and that is sorta a problem but they have the right to have an interest since it affects them. I am an atheist but I don’t obsess on it though I do have an interest in it.

  • Oh man, the only uniform I wear is for a marching band for my city. Most of the other members are old people. How funny would it be if they all did it. Seriously, only about 5 of us are under 30.

  • 1. I’ve experienced confusion when it comes to my feelings about Osama bin Laden being dead. In the end I go with the “justice has been done” stance. But I think a lot of people are bothered because they see in the celebrations something akin to the same hatred and bloodlust that spawns violence as a whole.

    2. I know practically nothing about the secrets thing.

    3. [potentially drama-causing comment deleted]

    4. They are? I admit I haven’t been paying a lot of attention to my private page these days. It makes sense, though.

    5. Well… I’m not an atheist, so I can’t speak for them, but there is this. There are atheists who post frequently about religion for the same reason that there are Christians who post frequently about secularism. They see something they consider bad for society, and they argue against it. In addition, a lot of the atheists who are most anti-religion were once religious people. They were burned very badly by a faith they used to hold dear and depend on. It’s a harsh experience to lose your faith. Some people never recover from it.

  • Regarding “Secrets” I have said something nice about someone on there that most people probably wouldn’t consider hot or anything. I was being sincere though. I only check the posts in hopes that someone says something about me:(…and they don’t.

  • I’d support the save the sexy shirtless toned drenched in shiny suntan oil guys foundation

  • I can understand celebrating his death. But getting really really drunk and driving around in the streets and hooting isn’t really a good way to do that.

  • Lolz @ 2 & 5

  • Furthermore, these Hermes handbags are made out from the most durable materials, ensuring the longevity of the bag. They have a sophisticated appearance that is observed in other expensive designer handbags or purses. Many women hope to own their own Hermes bags.

  • Definitely agree with #2…

  • I must be honest, I don’t comment on here hardly ever, but I agree with pretty much all of that.  I’m neutral on the Xanga drama stuff because I have no effing idea what’s going on with it all.  It’s kind of like high school…I never knew who was dating whom or who got drunk and slept with whom…I just lived in oblivion-land watching PBS and practicing the piano (and becoming a grammar nazi…does anybody even say “whom” anymore, EVER?)

Also, is #4 sarcastic?  I couldn’t tell.  I personally am kind of annoyed with all the rec’ing of pulses and comments, but maybe I’m just being stuffy.  It’s not that big a deal, just mildly irritating.

  • Someone must have bitched about your protected posts.

  • @tymedancer - If I don’t like this world and its people, should I move to Mars or kill myself?

Sure, no country is ever going to be perfect, but wanting to change your country actually means being somewhat involved in your surroundings and its politics. I’d rather hear people complain and at least do some degree of research to back up their arguments of what they would like to see change in this country rather than have them bitch on about the latest episode of “16 and Pregnant”. Is all change going to be good? No, that’s why we keep fighting. Change could actually be progress and this country is in desperate need of it.

  • I whole-heartedly agree with #7. Glad I’m on your protected list Dan.

  • Uniform idea is a great idea…

  • @godfatherofgreenbay - I am going Nehro and Soldat. Why? Why not. Mo took a shit in the Wood…could be ready fo a comeback.

  • LOVE the uniform idea!

  • Must you talk about boobies when I’m displeased enough with mine to have had a consult with a plastic surgeon just this week (as described in my most recent blog post)??? Honestly though, I hesitate to comment on a lot of posts here on Xanga for some of the reasons described above. Not necessarily those specific situations but similar. When I’m not visiting Xanga often (during hiatus) I’ll comment on whatever strikes me (good or bad) regardless of who it’s posted by. However, if I find myself here often for a period of time I get more familiar with the character of certain Xangans and unless being friends with them beyond the surface of Xanga I tend to shy away from more controversial posts (unless it’s a topic personally important to me) because I can never be sure just what sort of mind frame it came from. Certainly if something is clearly true it doesn’t matter from whom it came but when opinions start to get throw around you can’t just blindly jump into someone’s fan club.

  • is this really protected? o.O

I love the uniform idea. Only thing is… I’m a referee and I don’t have my own stripes (aka jersey), lol.

I agree with your list. And I’m so glad to see pulses being rec’d now.

  • I thought for sure I wouldn’t be on your protected list. Does Greek show his Physique?

  • That sounds like a good idea submitting your own secrets. I swear if there is a secret that comes out that says: “Llamalima is the awesomest”, it wasn’t me!

  • Wow Dan, way to be more of a dick.

But we knew this about you anyway. I don’t think there’s any saving you. I used to support you, but you’re just an elitist asshole who doesn’t realize he’s reliving his high school drama days on a blogging site.

Just thought someone should be honest with you instead of kissing ass for once.

  • I agree with number two. I dare say I posted something about not being interested in a few of the ‘popular’ men and they never get published. From what I see now, all published secrets are in favour of those men the founder fond of. It’s biased. Secrets no longer serve its purpose the founder promised. It has become a gossip station. Ugly.

  • I get enough anti-Americanism living in Europe.  I absolutely hate that crap on xanga.

    M

  • I’m a fan of the savetheboobs campaign idea.

  • 1-I still fucking hate you and always will.

2-This post was acceptable.3-No one gives a fuck about Osama, everyone is obvi. googeing “boobs” instead. (bing.com? fuck that.) The people that post about it are the people that know the least. This is true of most things. 4-point 2 is totally true. With the exception of this one weird Asian user that loves beer, I can’t think of anyone I’ve seen get hit on over xanga that I would actually fuck. oh, and Serena Dante or whatever the fuck that bitch is called. She’s adorable.5-I’m an atheist, and I agree. In fact I troll them on the regz. almost as hard as I troll you. they suck just as much as ‘revLIFE’ or whatever it is called.6-do whatever you have to do to get girls to send you topless photos.7-the conclusion of point three makes you officially involved in xanga ‘drama’. Revel in it. asshole. It’s why this site exitst.
finally, this entire post seemed entirely uncharacteristic and made you seem even more unintelligent than I had hoped. eww. I hope you at least work out.
zero eprops because you still suck.

  • I think you should do a “Save the Man Boobs” post.

Men can send in topless photos in order to raise Chesticular Cancer awareness.

It’s not only a deadly disease but it’s really embarrassing too.

  • The Thought Palace, ever on the cutting edge, covered the America Hater’s (Mostly Xanga’s Christians this time around) Bin Laden craziness and the hypocrisy post posted by a hypocrisy-engaged hypocrite a couple of days ago.

But since supposedly I’m the troll with a false identity, I’m glad (not-spitting-and-twirling-on-the-floor jealous I was a few minutes ago) that a real person of respect is covering these important topics.

  • good thing this is a protected post

  • Protected posts are the way to go LOL.

  • @PervyPenguin - Yep, there is a difference between being at peace because “justice” has been served (i’ll give them that), and openly celebrating and taking to the streets for someone’s death. It would be one thing if the “war” on terror ended with this man’s death but that is just not the case. People act like he was the only one who was involved in this, he was just another face in the whole scheme. Its a moral low ground to celebrate in that fashion imo.

  • 1) I think you’ve been living under a rock if you haven’t figured out that Xanga is dominated by pot-smoking commies.  They should at least be glad we gave him a proper Islamic burial.  We could have just stuck his head on a pike in the middle of Ground Zero for bypassers to violate.

    2) Not familiar with this function.

    3) No comment

    4) It gets annoying though when my wall gets flooded

    5) They have nothing better to do with their lives because they’re sad, deranged losers.

    6) Again, no comment

  • i wholly agree with you.  i’ve always wanted to write a post that says the same thing, minus the last one.  haha.

  • There have been people (female and male) who have lost their jobs for having racy pictues of themselves in their uniforms plaster across the internet.  You might want to rethink this one.

  • I’m glad you made this post protected since it’s in first place on Featured.  Mistake?  I think not.  LOL

  • I’m not surprised by your ridiculously misguided and ignorant complaint about atheists.

Also not surprised by how obvious it is that you’re a sick pervert, but most fail to see it.  >clicky<

  • I think the idea for the stb campaign should go off well.

In regards to the other issues, it is sad the no one can just be happy with the death of our most
notorious enemy. Im not saying go wild in the streets, but a day of sighs and relief and maybe a
sweet barbecue would be nice. I know I went out to Le Bec Fin myself to celebrate. But that’s just me.

  • Wow, this was a really great post. In theory I’d like to write like this also – taking time
and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I
procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done. Hoodia

  • I love when you rant your brilliance at it’s best.
Gotta say though …about Greek, he is a good guy…forgive and forget.

  • 1-3 are exactly what I think.  I typed out and deleted a reply to a comment on your site yesterday from an American talking about how horrid America is.  I didn’t want to perpetuate the hate, so I kept my thoughts to myself.  But I think if you hate this place so badly, you should try living someplace else for a while and then you’ll appreciate it.  Americans who hate America are usually just spoiled, entitled children.  The “secrets” thing makes me physically unwell, and I don’t know why I read it (not always, but once in a while.)  I think it’s that fascination with the abomination thing.  I should stop reading it before I say something really really really crappy to one of the “women” there that I might regret.

You already know what I think about the “show me your boobs” thing, so I’ll spare you.

  • Finally, an issue that I am passionate about. I have looked for information of this caliber for
the last several hours. Your site is greatly appreciated. acai berry

  • I haven’t noticed any celebrating on Facebook. It’s “Obama didn’t do it people! The soldiers did!” It annoys the hell out of me. Can’t we just celebrate the fact that the most wanted terrorist is dead? Instead of dissing on Obama? Everything is always a fight between the Democrats and Republicans. I wish we could all just celebrate together….instead of pointing fingers.

As for the Secrets…I agree. Everyone was talking about this certain Xangan….I went to her site and she wasn’t hot AT ALL. I agree, I think they are writing about themselves. Lol.

  • 1.  I completely agree.  I even wrote a short blog post about it as I was growing frustrated with the attitude as well.

    3.  I saw the blog in my news feed but I don’t recall if I actually read it or not.  Either way – I love how you ended that point.  So true as well.  I hate when people go deleting comments because it shows them in some kind of a negative light/act/etc (*cough*SerenaDante*cough*)

    5.  I’ve wondered the same thing.  I don’t recall exactly who said this, but someone on my Xanga friend list once said that she does not believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny or the like and she doesn’t need to go on talking about how she doesn’t believe in them nor does she need a group of people to discuss her none belief in these things.  She’d rather sit and chat with people about things she DOES believe in.  This was an excellent point and I wholeheartedly agree.  It’s just ridiculous for people to sit around discussing at length and ripping on things they don’t believe in as well as the people who believe in them.  (If anyone reading this can verify who I believe said this, I will give credit where credit is due as well as a link.)

  • I don’t think I want to see any McDonalds employees boobs.

  • I do hate America, we suck, as a whole. As for 6. You can get fired or sued from your job for that…. Not so sure thats a good idea… but i will look at the pictures. Haha

  • Enjoyed your rant and agree with your points.  I was recently prompted by God’s Spirit to continue posting to secular, and mixed bag Xanga ( to minister to all comers )  and also start a new blogsite on Revelife ( to minister among professing believers.)  Look for me there, Dan.  JerusalemHill on Revelife.  I have learned much from you here, Old Friend.

  • well i mean w a name like “godlessliberal”, wouldn’t anything less disappoint?

  • 1 – Was the president at the time of the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombings not also a “terrible person” for authorizing such a monstrocity, and would it be okay for the Japanese to celebrate if they killed the president during that time?

I have to put things like that in perspective because celebrating that you’ve quelled a symptom of the cause is not really much cause for celebrating, and also on a human level, I think it’s inappropriate to CELEBRATE anyone’s death.  Smile, be happy, perhaps, that a bad person is gone from the world, but celebrate in the streets?  Really?

Even think that if media got to Bin Laden’s supporters that Americans were celebrating in the streets over his death, it would fuel more terrorism/desire to blow the shit out of America.  It’s very difficult to put the shoe on the other foot, but you’ve gotta do it.

I think it’s RIGHT for Americans also to be critical of other citizens who perpetuate what other countries find annoying/irritating/terrible about the USA, such a blind patriotism and general lack of education and apathy for the rest of the world.

That’s just my 2 cents.  And I know I’m not on your friends list…. .so curious as to why this is still titled protected…

  • I’m probably out of the loop if I don’t know what Xanga Secrets is, right?? lol

My husband says the same thing about Osama.

  • I have to agree with most of what you said. Good post.

  • I’m putting up a witty “Go America-Down with Osama” post now. It’s gonna be great.
Love your rant. It’s a good think it’s protected; those atheists would be crawling up your butt by now.

  • I had to rec this, you son of a bitch. But you’re still a creep with #6.

  • I, personally, don’t take delight in the killing of another human (not saying you do either), but bin Laden’s death was necessary and hopefully provides a form of “closure” to families of 9/11 victims AND the other terrorist operations he has had a hand in going back decades. I didn’t “celebrate” his death but I cetainly didn’t begrudge anyone for doing so. Everyone responds in their own way and are entitled to do so, that’s one of the truly great things about Freedom.

I’ll try not to be as verbose from here on out.

Religion – I’m guilty to some extent. I got called on it. I’ve stopped. These posts were made out of boredom and a desire to raise the rabble. And, yes, I’m curious about taking “the leap of faith.” It’s something I cannot and have not been able to do rationally. So it does make me somewhat curious that others whom I respect can. I hope that doesn’t sound condescending it wasn’t meant to be.

Now on to 6.): I didn’t know you have a SAVETHEBOOBS CAMPAIGN! As a straight male I can’t say how awesome this idea is in what ever form you choose to take it. I can honestly say, boobs are two of my favorite things in the ENTIRE WORLD. Spectacular idea!

  • Are you for real?

  • Dan, I feel so honored to be one of your 10,000 closest friends who gets to read your protected posts   And truly, I would never delete one of your comments.  They are so much more revealing than your posts!

I love this country…  I just don’t feel like celebrating anyone’s death is a great thing to do.  I am glad Osama is gone.  But celebrating?  I celebrate defeating an enemy but I really can’t celebrate the fact that he is a lost soul.

As for SaveTheBoobs…I could live with that never being done.  Ever

  • This is why I love reading your post. They have thought placed into them, most important ones have research behind it. Secrete Post? Yea it made to be more juicy than it really is, most I feel are staged. Atheist? My thoughts exactly, if you hate religion so much why are you throwing it in our faces 5 times a day, just move on. Boobs? Let them fly!

  • so honored to be on your protected list ;)

I just want to say I agree and give you a hug over numbers 1 and 5.

  •  I feel so honored to be on your protected list, though I’m pretty sure I saw this post on the front page, so I don’t know if that’s true or not As for your points:

    1. I’m not dancing in the streets celebrating, but I’m glad he’s dead. That man is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people, including my best friend, so to anyone who tells me I can’t be glad he’s dead, I politely tell them to fuck off.

    2. I’ve sent in a couple of secrets, and all but one of them got posted, so I can’t speak to if they’re “fake” or not. I know mine weren’t about me or weren’t trying to bring attention to myself.

    3. I like Greek, and I like you, so I’m not going to say much about this one, other than to BOTH of you, its the “Christian” thing to forgive, so you might want to take that into consideration, just sayin’

    4. I just rec’d my first comment today, and I felt kind of bad for doing it. It annoys me when that shit pops up in my inbox, and I’ve been trying to avoid doing it to my few subscribers. As far as pulses are concerned, I’m indifferent. Its annoying to see, but some people write really good pulses. We’ll see.

    5. As far as athiests are concerned, I don’t really get it. I have my own brand of faith, but you don’t see me spouting off about it in every other post, so I don’t really get it when I see someone who says they don’t believe in God talking about Him CONSTANTLY. But to each their own I guess. People are entitled to their opinions, especially on their own blog. I’ll engage them on the blog in regards to the points they made, but I won’t blast them just for writing the blog. That’s counter productive to an open and sharing blogging community, and I’ve found that nothing good can come from it. Plus, I’ve found its a lot easier to live by the rule : Do unto others as you want them to do unto you.

    6. I’ve never participated in your STB’s campaign. Its not that I find it repulsive, I just don’t want my boobs on display for everyone to see. Those are reserved for just one person, and I’m not sure he would be too thrilled if he knew I was posting them for God and everybody to see. As far as uniforms are concerned, I’m not sure that is such a good idea. First of all, not very many women wear uniforms to work, and secondly, those that do could get fired if their employers found out, so I’m not sure how many takers you’re going to get for this year’s STB’s campaign.

  • i agree with 1, 2, and 5.
    i don’t care about 3.
    number 4 annoys me.
and on 6 i think women who have to show their naked bodies on the interweb have issues. (either they’re skanks, can’t get any IRL appreciation, or are stupid.) but it is a nice idea for those skanks :)

  • In regards to #2; valid that it’s entirely possible that people are submitting secrets about themselves. But to make an opinionated comment about people being ugly? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you consider beautiful bears no consequence on someone else’s vision of it – thus negating what were actually trying to convey about “Secrets” – whether it’s true or not. That shit just ain’t right.

As for everything else – needed to be said. Well done.

  • I think the uniform thing would sexualize the save the boobs campaign too much and detract from its point. Ever since I became a server, some men find it funny, cute, cool, etc. to try and get my number/hit on me in front of all their friends. I wouldn’t doubt that this is true of women in other stereotypical, “subservient female” careers like nursing… I don’t know. Maybe there’s a way to make it empowering instead of demeaning, but I can’t think of anything.

  • Dan, if this is “protected”, I think I’d better insist on seeing some recent AIM test results before reading any more. . .

    http://www.aim-med.org/

  • Wait…is this actually protected? Cuz it doesn’t say so. But then again, I wouldn’t know if it would because I’m not in enough to ever see protected posts and know what they look like. Seriously.

  • the Osama thing is blown way out of proportion, mostly because of American media itself.
Definitely agree with #5, I’ve been seeing it everywhere…also, I go to a Catholic school, and I know atheists who seem to roll their eyes at every seemingly religious comment and start fuming inside…

    I think that’s it’s wonderful that you’re doing the savetheboobs campaign :)

  • Personally I am not upset that OBL is dead.  However, seeing people out in the streets cheering and singing brought forth too many of the images of those that celebrated the deaths of our people on 9/11.  Kind of a sick feeling on both sides.  I do understand people expressing their joy… I just wish it weren’t so off-putting.

  • Alright, I’ll get my dental tunic out.

  • I like that the whole world’s on your protected list

  • I would do a protected post but I aint got nothing to rant about just now, wait til the end of the month, then I will be probably be well pissed off! lol

  • :O i got to see a theo protected post

  • In reply to your first point, I don’t believe anyone deserves to die. Not even Osama. I couldn’t care less if he killed a billion people. However, in the circumstances of his death, yes, killing him was the right thing to do (in bold so people don’t get confused with anything else I say here). Even with the new evidence that he was unarmed, and didn’t use his wife as a human shield. They’re still saying he resisted, which is an incredibly stupid thing to do in a raid, where you have gun-wielding military personnel acting in self defence mode. If he wanted a chance to survive, he should’ve have been in a prone position on the floor with his hands behind his head. If they killed him anyway, that would be wrong. Nazi leaders in WWII who were responsible for worse attrocities that surrendered were put to trial, which is how it should be. Its called due process, and this is an ideal installed in our laws, which we should not ignore when we see fit, as that would make us hypocrites in the eyes of our enemies. If we were not such hypocrites, I can guarantee you we would not have as many people hating us. We must be consistent and practice what we preach, even when dealing with the worst of the worse. Given the evidence, the guys who killed Osama followed protocol, so I don’t have an issue. On that day, we were not hypocrites .

  • Yes, if you have any issue with people dancing and chanting and drinking in the streets like frat partiers to celebrate someone getting shot in the face (even while acknowledging that the death was justified and necessary), you obviously hate America.

  • Dan, you are the man! I love your “protected post”. Hahahaha!

  • I agree with the point about atheists. I mean, what’s the point of making so many posts about religion? Sure, I know you’re trying to prove that it’s false or whatever, but still. 20-30 posts is excessive.

  • Thank you so much for adding me to your protected list Dan.  You have made my day!!!!!  hehehe

  • Oh wow, I’m on Dan’s protected list? I’m so flattered.

  • @crystal_air - it has nothing to do with political correctness. Atheists write about Muslims too when they do bad shit. The reason atheists write mostly about Christianity is because Christians are the ones asserting their ideology over every western country, pushing it into everyone’s lives. Muslims in western countries don’t do that very often. Atheists aren’t strictly anti-Christian. They’re just fighting back against an establishment that thinks they have special privileges in law, government and society.

  • @WCK604 - radical muslims attempt to assert their ideology quite often, usually to disasterous effect.

  • @firetyger - you said it well. i feel the same.

  • people who aren’t proud of the USA should just leave and go to a country they ARE proud of. USA isn’t perfect; mistakes have been made. some very very sad and bad ones. hell, we make them every day, but tell me one country that hasn’t? If you can name it, then go there. and leave the rest of us alone. overall, USA is the best country to be in. I can’t think of any place else I’d rather be; other than my own island, with my own personal internet satellite and unlimited toilet paper.

atheists crack me up. i think they care more about religion than
‘religious’ people do. if everyone in this country believed that shoving
a teacup up your ass was the way to salvation, i’d tell them to go to
hell. if they did it, that’s up to their idiotic beliefs. i could care
less. atheists should stick up for what they believe in… or not
believe in.. or w/e… just ignore it. :)

    boobs…. hmm… i have nothing intelligent to say… yum?

  • Haha I like your rants. I’m also completely with you on number one.

  • This brings up a good point, do you get more comments by saying it’s a protected post or do you get more by misspelling a word in the title. Gawd help us all if someone did both…

  • @Pink_TeaCups -

Bonjour à tout le monde ! Good morning everybody ! I am a bit flabbergasted by the topics in here, at the Theologian’s ( or is it the Theologians’ ) café. Whether Adam and Eve had navels, that is a theological issue, or whether women have souls (granted they do have, Middle-Ages Council, one single vote in favour “aye” majority), or whether Christ was nailed to the cross with three nails or four nails ( still being debated in the present days ), that is theology for you, as well as being an atheist or a gnostic or merely unwittingliy indifferent, or Buddhism not being an actual religion but an actual philosophy. But Saving the Boobs ? Of course, save as many as you can, save them all, do so for your Brethren and for your Sisters who love each other’s and one another’s boobs, let them grow and multiply and conquer the hearts and the minds of men and women alike…However, ahem, is this theology ?

  • I agree with your point about athiests.  I am one.  It’s the Evangelical Athiests that give the rest of us a bad name But that doesn’t mean I abhor religion.  I just believe in one fewer god than Christians, that’s all.  I also don’t believe the moon is made out of green cheese.  But I don’t go all evangelical about it!
