  • Are Black Men More Violent?

A black man in Texas had his execution for murder stopped because of the testimony of a psychologist in his trial.  The psychologist indicated that black people are more likely to be dangerous than other people.  Here is the link:  Link

What is interesting is the psychologist indicated that men are more violent than women too.

Statistics tell us men are more violent than women.  Men are more likely to get arrested for murder than women and are more likely to get arrested for rape than women.  Here is the link:  Link

The funny thing is no one would doubt that men are more likely to murder or rape than women.  You don’t even need to bother to check the link.  There is nothing controversial about it.

Now black men account for 50% of the murders by men in the U.S. even though they are 12-16% of the population.  Black men account for 31.8% of the arrest for forcible rapes in the U.S. even though they are only 12-16% of the population.  Here is the link:  Link

So it is easy for us to accept that men are more violent but we struggle with the issue of black men being more violent.

  • Atheists on Xanga are More Likely to Have Autism

I found a study that has explained so much to me about some of the Atheists on Xanga.

People who are atheists are more likely to have autism.  Here is the link:  Link

When I was a kid, I saw a child who was taught a bunch of dates and he was autistic.  He could remember all of the dates.  It was impressive.  I think it makes sense to teach autistic people facts and figures because they can memorize them but they tend to struggle with more complex concepts.

That has been my general impression of Atheists on Xanga.  They can repeat facts and figures but they struggle to process information that is more complex.

Some Atheists complained that xanga created Revelife for Christians but did not create an ish site for Atheists.  I think they just thought Autisable covered the Atheists.

Is it me, or does it appear that Atheists struggle to process complex information?

  • Should Homeless People Work for Their Keep?

A homeless shelter is thinking of having homeless people help out by working for the right to stay at the homeless shelter.

The city pays $100,000 a year to help the shelter and it also pays for $700,000 in repairs like plumbing and roofing and other areas.  So some people believe they should just have the homeless people help out by putting them to work.  Here is the link:  Link

I have always felt we should make people work for a handout.  The government spent $144 billion for unemployment last year.  Here is the link:  Link

So the government should put those people to work.  If you want unemployment, you should work for it.  If you want food stamps, you can help clean up the garbage on the side of the streets.  I am sure we could use a few people to help build roads.  If you want free health care provided by the government, maybe you can paint a government office building.

People would probably be able to suddenly find a job if they had to work full time for the handouts.

Should the homeless people work for their keep?

  • The Shopping Experience

Imagine you were given $5000.00 to buy clothing in any store you wanted.  But you had to spend it all in the same store.

Which store would you want to shop in?

  • Queef

A few months ago I read a pulse where someone used the word “queef.”  I had to look it up.

    Be honest.

Did you know what queef meant before this post?

  • Equal Rights for Women

An appeals panel ruled against a woman’s right to sunbathe topless on a New Jersey beach.  The panel ruled that being topless viotated “the public’s moral sensibilities.”

The woman’s argument was “If men can do it, why can’t she?”  Here is the link:  Link

Do you support equal rights for women?

  • Your Role on Xanga

I was at an Internet marketing conference today that I was going to for work.

In the conference one of the speakers was talking about twitter and other social networks.  He said there are a few type of people in a social network like twitter.

    1.  Content Creators:  These are the people that create almost all the content that everyone talks about.  This represents 5-10% of the people on the social network.

    2.  Critics:  These are the people that speak for or against the content of the content creators.  Some of these critics look for the positive side of the situation and some of these people speak against the content or the content creators.   This represents 5-10% of the people on the social network.

    3.  Collectors:  This is the group that just discusses the content that was created.  They rarely create content and are not really the main critics.  They tend to just discuss the content of the social network.  This represents 40% of the people on the social network.

    4.  Inactive:  These people are on the social network but don’t tend to interact with the trending issues at all.  This represents 40% of the people on the social network.

Which role do you play on xanga?

  • Divorcing for Alzheimers

Pat Robertson is in the news for talking about a man who had a wife with Alzheimer’s.  The man sent in a question to Robertson’s show.

The man’s wife had Alzheimer’s and he developed a relationship with another woman.

Pat Robertson said that the man probably go ahead and divorce his wife since she was already “dead.”  He went on to say “he certainly wouldn’t put on a guilt trip” to someone who decided to divorce.  Here is the link:  Link

Do you think it is wrong to leave your spouse if he/she gets Alzheimer’s?

  • Sharing Your Feelings On Xanga

I have a basic theory.  I think the longer you are on xanga, the more difficult it is to be open about yourself.

I think one of the appeals of a blog is that a person can open up.  In fact, many times people will share that they can be more transparent on xanga than they can be with their real life friends.

But I think that once people get to know people on xanga, that they begin to do what they do in real life.  They start to concern themselves with what others think.  So they start editing their site and even their emotions.

Are you able to be totally open about your feelings on xanga?

  • Jumping From the World Trade Centers

Would you have jumped or faced burning in the fire?
