  • Bowling For Abortions

The National Network of Abortion Funds raised over $400,000 for abortions by hosting a Bowl-A-Thon.

They admitted they used money they raised to help a 14-year-old get an abortion.  Here is the link:  Link

    Would you bowl for abortions?

  • Maybe if the woman was like laying there with her stomach ready and waiting for the bowling ball.

  • Yes.  I’ve donated money a few times to an abortion fund in Ohio.  In fact, I’m going to go donate again right now.

  • For some reason when I read the title, I imagined a woman getting an abortion sitting at the end of the alley and people will roll the ball into her stomach.

Maybe I’m just a sick bastard.

  • @SolidStateTheory - Well, glad I wasn’t the only one to think that.

  • I read the article. I may get slammed for this but this sentence spoken by the 14 year old, ““Getting my abortion means I’m going to get a second chance. And I want to make it count.”” makes me very sad. It reads like it wasn’t something to save the 14 year olds life or rape or incest. She just wanted a “second chance”. That makes me sad. If that makes me a bad person then so be it.

  • I think bowling is really boring so I’d rather just donate.

  • This is great!  Funds raised through voluntary giving is far better than using taxpayer dollars.

  • Fuck yeah! Give the bitches free abortions and you’ll never have to wrap your willy in one of those nasty latex things again.

  • No way. If I’m giving money to whores I better get something out of the deal.

  • I’d prefer to help pay for sterilizing welfare moochers, but this is second best.  Here’s a hell to the yes.

  • eeeh…depends. There are types of  “abortions” performed that I clearly disagree with. But generally yes. I don’t actually think that up to a certain point the fetus is “alive”.

  • At 14 years old does she REALLY understand that she has been given a second chance?  Is she going to make better decisions in the future regarding pregnancy prevention?  Or will she take this generous gift for granted?  At 14 years old I don’t think I really understood the true value of gifts of this size, but at 14 I wasn’t even thinking about having sex, so….

This is either a case of poor humans or poor parenting or … something else, I just can’t think of what?

All I can say is that I hope SOMEONE is reprimanding her for poor judgement and poor decision-making (and I hope that that someone is her parent(s) or mother?).

Awhile ago there was a post about forcing people to watch a video of an abortion before they choose to terminate a pregnancy.  Maybe I’m an awful person, but if a privately funded organization (I will never support the government’s involvement in regulating or financing abortions … never ever ever) is going to pay for someone’s abortion MAYBE they should be forced to watch a video of an abortion beforehand.

Side Note:  If we are required to pass a test in order to obtain a license to legally operate a vehicle, surely the same should be required before we should be given the responsibility of raising another human being.  Maybe this is applicable here, maybe it is not.

  • absolutely.  I took care of a 13 year old who had a baby…and what happens to the baby and the 13 year old?  No one really gives a #(&#& once the baby is born.

  • Only if I could use aborted fetuses as bowling balls.

  • No. I don’t like bowling.

  • nope, I don’t like charity better the state take care of health as a social responsibility. I’m pro choice but I like how it is in Mexico where any girl can go and get an abortion for free at the state hospitals.

  • @ShimmerBodyCream - Whores? Now I’m usually one of the first to throw that around, but I’m surprised. Quite speechless, actually.

  • @SarahC0828 - I have a 14-year-old daughter and while she may understand the result of her actions.  There is no way she is equipped to maturely understand sex and all its consequences.  I wouldn’t condemn or have harsh words for any modern-day teenager in that situation.

  • @A_Different_Route - Not to mention all the blame and shame they put on 13/14-year-old girls who get pregnant.  The stats used to show (I don’t know what they are now) that teenage girls tend to get pregnant by much older men.  There’s no 14-year-old today that completely grasps the full ramifications of having sex today.

  • I’d donate. There’s nothing wrong with someone young wanting a  ”second chance” and finances shouldn’t stop anyone from getting that. The further along they are, the more I would argue for adoption. But I’m pro-choice, which means that the mother should have the right to choose whatever she thinks is best for her and her future child. Lack of money shouldn’t stop anyone from getting what they’ve chosen.

  • I would much rather donate to a find-the-baby-a-worthy-home-and-sterilize-those-not-wanting-children kind of place. Those without insurance canget the gov’t to pay for birth control, such as an IUD that is hormone free and lasts for 15 yrs, instead of facing a decision to end a co-dependent human being with a DNA code unique only to itself.

  • I would donate the money. People complain about tax dollars that haven’t gone towards abortions in years, now they want to complain about people donating money to low-income women on their own accord? People need to mind their own business.

  • @Lady_Kelacy - In America you have to have a child for most doctors to insert an IUD.

  • Maybe if we weren’t forcing schools to not teach sex ed to our children we wouldn’t have to have fundraisers like “bowling for abortions.”

  • I would donate. I don’t see the big deal with abortions.

  • I would.  I would expect that they’re not only giving abortions, but also educating people about them and how to prevent needing them.

  • That depends. Is it glow bowling? If it’s glow bowling, absolutely.

  • paying for other peoples abortions huh?

how about no. you can do what you want, but do it with your own money and time. thanks. wtf why are people retarded?

  • that’s an expensive abortion. anyone want to bowl to get me a house? that would get a pretty nice one.

  • No I wouldn’t.

I’m pro-life (although I don’t judge others!) so couldn’t however if the pregnancy is a result of rape or something other than unprotected sex – then that is an exception maybe? I’m still thinking about that

  • I would say bowling for an abortion is a blood sport. No, no and no.

  • @Shadowrunner81 – that makes me sad as well. :(

My stance on abortion is confusing but I probably would not donate or bowl for abortion. Don’t willingly have sex at 14 and you won’t be in this situation. Have sex then I mean…at least there are people out there who WILL bowl for you to have an abortion.
    Smh.

  • I would absolutely donate.  A 14-year-old girl doesn’t need to be having any babies.  I can only hope she learned from her mistake and that it won’t happen again.

  • No. I’d look into ways to get her the support she needs, provide emotional support, but I wouldn’t help her compound her mistake with an abortion.

  • I only donate to the Stupid People Lobotomy Bowl-A-Thon. It’s a very popular fundraiser! We raise money for a great cause! It seems that not everybody realises or just quite understands that a minor does not make his/her own medical decisions, so we try to help them “see the light.”

  • I wouldn’t bowl for abortion funding and our tax dollars here in Canada already fund abortion even if we don’t like it.

  • I would bowl for an adoption fund raiser, or for a community women’s shelter. I wouldn’t bowl to kill.

  • … I think people should mind their own buisnesses.. She wants to get an abortion? People want to donate their money to her? So what? If you dont feel comfortable about donating money for that, easy solution.. DONT!.. I bet you if many of these people got pregnant at 14 (or anytime they are not ready) they will completely change their mind…. I know a girl who ended up having a baby and just cause she had a baby, she changed her whole opinion on abortions and calls everyone evil who agrees with it.. Messed up…

  • Absolutely! donate, bowl whatever. I would give someone a “second chance” regardless of how old they are or why they got into that situation in the first place. I would hope that she would be a bit more careful in the future & I would hope that it wouldn’t be used as a poor method of “birth control” but since I am pro-choice myself, I see nothing wrong this.

  • Thank you Revelife for bringing to our attention this wonderful charity! I am sure that there a lot of people now that will be aware they can donate to this great cause. I am going to personally post this on facebook to spread the word. Thanks again!!

  • I don’t have any money but I’ll punch a bitch in the stomach and shove a beer bottle inside her for $20 and a thank you.

  • I am hoping that the 14 year olds Mother starts keeping a better eye on her daughter.  That girl is to young to be having sex.  I am more concerned with a 14 year old girl being pregnant and havign sex than I am with bowling to raise money for abortions.

  • @tst08 - You are talking about a 14 year old child

  • @Grannys_Place - mary the mother of jesus was raped by a roman centurion. so was joseph. that’s why everybody covered it up. jesus was the first white jew. he gave whores abortions too. that’s why he lives forever. because he eats aborted fetuses. DUH

  • Hate bowling, but I’d certainly donate.

  • Ironic and tragic.

“One individuals’ ‘trash’ is…” my personal tragedy…the universe always finds a way to make me laugh if somewhat wryly. I must be forgiven. I am not myself. After today, I never will be again.
Dan my answer to you is this: I would not, but if there is someone out there for whom an abortion will provide the means to “float their boat” then by all means…to each his or her own…

  • @tst08 - Don’t be a dick. You may be an Atheist as well, but your inconsiderate actions demean us all. Show some empathy, show some class! IF you are smarter than this, ACT LIKE IT.

  • I’d rather donate money to SAVE lives, not end them.

  • bowling and abortions don’t even go together

  • no don’t believe in abortions…once you open your legs…look out.

  • That is horrible. What next? Bowling for Euthanasia for old people?

  • Ummm, not no, but hell no. BTW I am sure that it will NOT cost $400,000 for this 14 year old to have this abortion! This makes me sick!

  • @imTHEmeowMIXcat - I’m not a dick, I’m a born again christian and if you want to be saved maybe you could eat my sperm and god might forgive you for being in a cult

  • I spent three years as a house father at a home for unmarried pregnant teenaged girls. During those three years I lived with a total of 76 young women. The home was part of a group of children’s homes sponsored by a mainline Christian organization. We offered this service as an alternative to abortion. Here is what I learned during those three years: About 50% of the girls kept their child and about 50% gave them up for adoption. Almost without exception the girls who chose to keep their babies were the ones that were the most ill-equipped and had no idea what was lying ahead of them. The girls who were smart enough to understand their own limitations and maturity level and gave their children up for adoption were actually the ones who I would have given the best chance of becoming a good parent. I saw child after child being taken home into lives of poverty, neglect, and abuse. It’s certainly not my place to say that it would have been better if those children had never been born but I do know this: I went into those three years a hardcore pro-lifer and I came out of the those three years as a hardcore pro-choicer. You damn well better believe I would bowl for abortions.

  • @fabolousclown - Me either. I am all for life. :)

  • @millionofstars - I save an innocent life :D :D
