Friending Your Rapist on Facebook
A man was accused of rape by a 15 year old girl. About ten years later, she admitted he didn’t rape her.
He had already served five years in prison and had been released. She admitted she lied and it was caught on video tape without her knowledge. She didn’t want to clear him of the charges because she had received $1.5 million in a lawsuit from accusing him of rape.
She also friend requested him on Facebook after he was cleared of the charges. Here is the link: Link
In the article, it mentioned she will probably not be charged with a crime because she was only 15 when she accused him.
Should she spend time in prison for falsely accusing him of rape?

.___.
I say we charge her for fraud if she spent any of that money after she turned 18.
Death to this cunt.
…YES.
Yeah she should be harshly punished. No one should take advantage of the protection so many women need for real. She’s worst than a rapist, a rapist hurts a limited amount of victims, people like her hurt all the rape victims, present and future.
YES, she should! She shouldn’t have that money either. The nerve to befriend him on Facebook after she wrongly accused him of rape geez. If someday she gets raped for real, let that be a hard lesson for her. What goes around comes around. People will go to any lengths for money and that’s just sick. Throw the book at her, lock her up and throw away the key!
@xXxlovelylollipop - I am with you on that too!
Victims often recant but if he was really innocent then Hell yeah she should go to prison.
This is why people who actually do get raped lose out on cases because of fucked situations like this. When it really gets down to it, the real rapists are cleared and the innocent ones are incarcerated.
Whatever money she has left she should give to him for doing what she did to him at least. She should get some sort of punishment mainly because of future girls that might try the same stunt.Thats just wrong
Ugh… GRRRR
It’s hard enough for rape victims who are being honest about what happened.
People like HER make it much worse.
If she really did lie, and he spent 5 years of precious life in jail, yes she deserves to be charged. People who falsely accuse someone of a crime should be charged for that. It makes the process much harder for the ones who are actually telling the truth.
and it just pisses me off!
I heard about this case because it happened really close to my house. I was unaware that she didn’t even tell them she had lied and that it had been caught on video. If someone realizes what they did was wrong and that they had lied, they should say something. For her to go that long and know what she did was wrong, but not say anything she should face some kind of consequence. It’s bad enough that he was falsely accused of rape, but for someone to just let him suffer like that for their own greed is ridiculous. People who falsely call rape and things of that nature cause the real cases to become much easier to get away with.
Yes. She should spend as much time in prison as he did and pay HIM 1.5 million.
Yes. I do often think of friending mine though…because I want to see if he is as miserable as he made me.
i think that’s a friend request i would decline
Yes! I think they should add on five more years to her sentence though for the 1.5 million dollars that she inevitably spent. I hate women/girls like her, they’re disgusting people.
he lost so much, I am disgusted with her.
This guy is a saint, I don’t know how he can forgive her. I’m having enough trouble forgiving the girl who kicked me yesterday and all I got was a little bruise
Yes! That’s far beyond messed up. That’s why there are so many women out there that can’t get there rapists convicted. That’s so not fair.
This happens much more frequently than reported. This bitch needs to be tarred and feathered.
i watched an interview of him tonight. right now all he wants to do is tryout for the NFL. i hope he makes the cut. he plead guilty to a plea deal because the alternative would have been to roll the dice and risk spending over 40 years in prison if convicted on her testimony. he was a teen himself who had to make that life decision. scary.
@ItsAll_A_LoveWar - excellent point.
I must say I wouldn’t lie and ruin a person’s life even if it did mean getting that much money out of it. Falsely accusing anyone of rape will seriously destroy their life to some degree, it’s a disgusting thing to do to anyone.I don’t think prison would teach her a lesson, she truly does deserve punishment of some sort, though. She should start by working off the $1.5 million in community service.
I’d say yes. 15 is far old enough to know not to be a shitty human being.
this is nothing like what this kid has gone through but people who defend troll’s “freedom of speech” should rethink their idea of freedom of speech. as many have, about 2 years ago i blocked a troll who sometimes goes by the name of skanlyn. i’ve caught him on more than one occasion telling females whose blogs i agreed with that i am only agreeing with them because i’m trying to hit on them. nothing could be further from the truth. i’m 58 and not into hitting on girls online. i’m a real life guy. i see a lot of guys on Xanga who seem to think a woman’s blog is an open invitation to flirt with them. i’m not one of those guys. i respect what anyone writes here for what it is, agree or not. i mention this because it is indeed horrible to be accused by an asshole with issues of something you’re not guilty of.
ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY
wtffffff. that’s wack.
@GodlessLiberal - You can’t charge anyone with fraud. The case was decided by due process so that’s that.
So your usual tactic of whining until Mommy gets you an Oreo and some milk to shut you up, won’t work.
The lesson here for everyone is to get a good lawyer if you ever get into trouble. Otherwise you’re screwed.
she should spend double the time that he spent in jail and repossess her car and everything else that she has.
Yes. 15 is old enough and I bet she’s already in high school when she lied. She should be in prison spending her 5 year of life there just like how that guy spent his time there. Don’t forget about the money too.
And btw, how could police arrested him? That little b*tch was lying and what did police find as evidence?
False rape accuser is now in a relationship and it’s complicated.
Yes, she should be reprimanded. He lost five years of his life and so should she……lose five years.
not only she has to pay back the money. she should serve the 5 years he served in jail to make things fair

Oh please….at 15 years old she knew what she was doing. That’s horrible to ruin someones life like that. She needs to give EVERY penny back….ugh. Poor guy.
Wow! He already served the time and paid the fine, so the only way for justice to prevail is to let him rape someone
She should be punished somehow. We can’t just let people get away with falsely accusing others just because they were children at the time. That’s someone’s life she ruined.
Yes.
Go Salem Witch Trails…burn her at the stake
She should have some sort of punishment.
He had to give up 5 years of his life. He’ll never be able to get that time back.
Oh FUCK yes. She should give the money back and spend the same amount of time in jail.
Yes, for perjury! And she should be fined for $1.5 million. I don’t take rape lightly, if someone raped another person, the rapist should definitely be punished. But lying about something like this is worse considering he was incarcerated. He can’t get back the last 10 years. Even if his name is cleared for the crime, he will still have a hard time getting a job, and people he knows might not be able to trust him because he was accused in the first place. WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER FOR FRIENDING HER “RAPIST” ON FACEBOOK?! As if she didn’t ruin his life already! I agree with the others, that real victims will have a harder time getting their justice.
@brrraaaiiins - NICE! I wonder how long it would take her to work off 1.5 million!! Bahaha.
And THEN she gets to go to jail. For a longgg time!
@twilike - Ignorant. -_- That is NOT the point. And no, just cause he already did the time for it doesn’t mean he should just go out and do it.
Of course she should have to spend time in jail. 15 years old is not too young to understand that you don’t accuse people of doing something that they didn’t do especially something as serious as rape. She should at least have to pay back the 1.5 million she received. Women like her are the reason it is hard for rape survivors to get justice in court.
I can’t believe she still has her facebook page up.
1. He gets her money and possession of assets acquired as a result of said money.
2. One year of rape victim counseling to understand what it’s like to actually be raped.
3. A public apology broadcasted on the news.
4. He get to punch her in the face once and really hard if he wants.
Every time a woman falsely accuses a man of rape, an angel gets it’s wings.
Actually, it only damages the legitimacy of actual rape victims so yes, she should be charged with something.
Well he will get compensated for the courts accusing him. So sometimes they’ll give somewhere between 40-100 grand a year for when you were incarcerated. But that’s tax dollars, not her dollars. But otherwise this case is just screwed up. I’ve seen people charged as adults at age 15.
Five for five! That’s absolutely sick! See, this is why I don’t really have a whole lot of female friends. >.< I think she needs to do time for it AND compensate him for his losses.
It’s commendable she finally told the truth. She’s obviously still a selfish person since she couldn’t publicly and legally retract her accusations. She should not get away with it. She should have to pay the school district back for the money she didn’t deserve. And she should have to repay the man somehow, I don’t care if she cleans his house, washes his car, or does his laundry. She owes him big time.
You write some of the most terribly misleading headlines/recaps ever, Dan! Jesus! Is that just to see if people are reading the articles?
I guess you’re nowhere near a credible source of journalism, but still. My little journalist heart breaks every time.
This story is horrible and there are many dimensions of horrible and I can’t think straight about it, but the details aren’t quite as you present them. Also, fuck the Huffington Post.
And anyway, while I’m glad she finally came clean, I am disgusted by her initial accusation of rape, which both reinforces white supremacy and the oppression of the black male, but also lends some credence to people who accuse victims of rape of crying wolf. Not to mention her terrible reliance on her privileges, obviously at the cost of others. She’s obviously feeling some guilt for what she’s done, but not enough. I don’t think she understands the extent of it.
Also, from her quote, she sounds like an idiot. She doesn’t need jail, she needs an education on privilege and culture. Though in terms of punishing the fraudulent acquisition of money, the justice system might as well step in, since that’s what we’ve got. Fuck the justice system, though.
I wish I knew, what possibly motivated her to do this?! They were friends. I get that 15 year olds are idiots, but damn. I really want to know how that first trial went.
This poor guy, on the other hand, sounds like a really good dude. I can’t imagine how much this must have hurt him and he’s trying to not fall into anger and to move on. I really hope he succeeds.
That is the most terrible thing to do to someone. She threw the man’s life in the garbage without a care which kind of makes her sociopathic. Jail time, or someone beat the b**** up
Yes, I think she should spend time in jail. At the very least, she should be in jail for five years — one day for every day he was falsely imprisoned. And I think he should be given that $1.5 million.
@CandiedLilac - How about jail time, and making sure that someone beats the b**** up while she’s in prison?
@janusfiles - The two often go hand-in-hand, don’t they
My commet got 10 recs :O I feel so mainstream ^-^
I saw this on the news and after everything he went through, an apology is not enough from her.
why would she friend him? it’s like, “hey you’re alright now after I accused you of rape”.
@heythereJOANN - I agree.
I don’t think she should go to prison; she was 15 when it happened. That poor guy is never going to have his career back, I hope he gets a huge settlement!
She should serve the original sentence, plus 5 years for time he spent in there. when released, probation for 4 years, and put on the registry for life.
All her money should go to him.
That’s not an easy question to answer because she could be lying about it not happening. A Social Worker told me that it’s a common thing for someone to go back on their word once a person is locked up.
Uh…. Heck yes?!!
I absolutely think so. I mean common people..you don’t just say someone raped you. Unless they actually did. Seriously. It seems like girls just yell rape whenever they get in a fight with someone these days. It pisses me off when someone does that. Rape is a very serious manner that shouldn’t be joked around about or lied about. -__-
No. She should let me really rape her instead. ; D
I’m an eye-for-an-eye person. So she wasted 5 years of his life, it’s HER turn!
Perhaps not…but at the LEAST they should take that money from her and give it to him. Five years of his life wasted by her foolishness…that is so sad.
Rapists take away their victims’ virginity, security, and self-esteem. She took away his security, self-esteem, reputation, and five years of his life. She is worse than a rapist and needs to pay him twice the amount of money she received, as well as spend twice that much time (10 years) in prison.
she should be punish. prison time is no joke.
this is a difficult question.
was she recanting cause it really wasn’t him? or was she recanting cause she didn’t want to be known as a rape victim?
who knows what is going on? I don’t
@isayroar - I was jk. I was making fun of the justice system, that’s all.
Minors can’t be convicted as an adult, so perhaps their testimony shouldn’t bear such weight. Also, it was merely a case of finger pointing anyway. The courts should have tossed it out the window, but he plead no contest to the charges.
The whole case sounds kinda ridiculous. My comment was too, but that was the point.
Should she spend time in prison? NO. She should go straight to the
electric chair (do they still have those anymore?). This man did time
that he didn’t have to do… And I heard that prisoners are especially
rough with child molesters and rapists in prison.. His ENTIRE life is
completely ruined even now that he’s free and absolved of this crime
because she laid this stigma on him. There are people who are NEVER
going to give him a chance because they won’t let him close enough to
explain to them that he was falsely accused. Rape is NEVER something
that should be taken lightly. She cried wolf. Do you know how damaging
this kind of things is to ACTUAL rape victims who might have wanted to
come forward? As if they don’t go through enough trouble already! Had
she accused him at 15 and they found her accusations to be false, that
would have been one thing. However, rape investigations aren’t just
“point out your rapist in this line-up.” She, and her lawyer, played
their parts so well, that they were able to convict an innocent man. Oh,
she knew better even then because all of that had to be deliberate. We
do not need to rehabilitate people like her in our society. That would
just encourage more of these situations and we have enough problem as it
is with how many cases like these we have to currently deal with.
Without even a second thought, yes. Otherwise, it’s like saying it’s okay. He suffered time for her lie. I say it would be fair to have her serve the exact same amount of time. 15 is old enough to think and know. She knew better. What idiots.
This girl is awful, and her being 15 is not an excuse. 15 is old enough to see what she was doing.
She should be charged and tried, and jailed if convicted. Also, she should be forced to pay restitution.
I am not a lawyer. However, if it happened ten years ago, then in all likelihood, the statute of limitations would be up on whatever charge she would be facing. That aside, though, yes, what she did was illegal and she should be prosecuted. Fifteen is old enough to know better.
Of course she should be punished. She owes back the 1.5 million, and then she should pay damages to the man who lost 5 years of his life.
Let me tell you something, DAN. A 15-year old girl who does something so conniving and evil like this knows exactly what she’s doing.
She should receive just compensation for what she has done against this poor men. This keeps happening to black males. Fuck you, white females.
This girl DISGUST me to NO end. People like this are exactly why someone who is accused of rape has almost no chance of getting out of it. And like many others said, they get treated pretty bad. So even if someone was falsey accused like this man, their whole life is ruined. That will always be on their records.
And to think this girl didn’t come clean because of MONEY..YES, 1.5 million is a hell of a lot. But, that girl is pitiful. But that’s okay. She’ll have to face God one day. She’ll have her day.
Money is surely the root of all evil!!!
Yes, she should be made an example of, and if she has any money left, she should be fined so that she has none from the “award”. People who falsely accuse should pay big time.
I think she should have to pay back the money…by working in a prison. Let her experience just a taste of what he had to, get low wages, most of which will go towards paying back the money she STOLE. Whatever college or career plans she had for herself..sorry. How does THAT feel?
and like someone here suggested, let her sit in on a rape recovery group or something…so she can begin in some tiny way to understand the damage she has done to victims, through her lies. While she has been enjoying her 1.5 million…real people have been suffereing from real rape, or other falsely accused men in prison…because of thoughtless fools like her.
She may have been fifteen when she started this, but there is NO way that during the course of the proceedings, which usually move at a snail’s pace, that it didn’t dawn on her that what she was doing was serious, wrong, stealing, and life destroying. There is NO way! I mean, it had to be sometime into it that the situation about the school system paying even arose…so she had plenty of time with no monetary incentive to do the right thing…unless someone else was pulling the strings..
Also, I find it very very hard to believe that somewhere along the way her lawyers, or someone didn’t get wise to her lie. Most 15 yr olds are not that strong, cunning and confident liars to pull this sort of thing off. I believe she was coached and the lawyers pushed her because they receive a handsome chunk of the settlement. There are many heads that should roll.
this is so messed up i’m lost for words.
I had the guy who date raped me when I was 15 try to friend me on Facebook recently. It put me into a dark, dark depression.
BTW, yes, she should be jailed!
the poor man had to spend 5 yrs in jail for smt he did not do. not only is his reputation ruin, his family + friends + society viewing him differently, in 5 yrs he could have done so much. wtf girl
is that a serious question? YES.
she put someone away for rape, of a minor. ABSOLUTELY. she should be made an example of. this makes me so angry on so many levels. that poor man lost years of his life. she made a fucking mockery of rape. fuck her.
That is just sad. And yes, I missed your blog, so I’m creeping.
