What Could Celestial-Teapot Find Out About You?
Recently Celestial-Teapot caused a stir by personal information about a few bloggers on his xanga site.
Some people expressed anger toward him while others cheered him on.
According to Celestial-Teapot, he found all the information about her from her xanga site, google searches and information in the public domain.
I will never forget when a woman figured out from my xanga site where I worked and my home address and the names of my children and she posted them on her xanga site.
Could a person figure out your home address from what you have posted on Xanga?

Probably everything including what my vaginal canal looks like.
Good luck with that for me. XD
And if someone should manage to find out my info, bully for them. It’s not like anyone’s actually going to be able to use that information in any meaningful way as it is.
Probably everything
It wouldn’t be hard to figure it out. I’m a pretty open book. And hey, if any stalkers feel like dropping in, they’re welcome to meet my shotgun
Not to mention my hubby is in the military so yeah… Not worried about it.
I don’t know, maybe. But I am seven feet tall and have 32 guns, so I am not worried.
I’ll answer in a second but right now there’s someone at the door. Be right back.
If they tried hard enough. But who has that much time on their hands?
I’m not sure what someone could “find out” from my xanga alone, it’s probably bad that I’m not terribly concerned about it, either.
@firetyger - so if I decide to come by… I should probably call first
Nothing worth finding.
It wouldn’t be that difficult if they cared enough
sure, my xanga has a link to my facebook, you can find everyone and everything there even a nice map to my country house in case you want to visit
I live way too far from all xangans to be scared
I doubt it, maybe my cell number but that would be a problem with Facebook security or hacking into my facebook. I try to keep things pretty private, it took me a long time to even put my pic up. You’d find out how my mind works because of the nature of my blog being about dreams. You’d also find out about my daughter and our NICU experience. My city and state of residence but if my address was found, I’d want to know where so I could take it down. I actually have dealt with irl stalkers so I revamped my security and looked the guy up in a lot of sites so I could block him.
Luckily, I’m not well enough known for someone to bother with it. I’m not hated and I’m not liked so I wouldn’t have anyone on here trying to say anything about me.
@lucylwrites - If you enjoy living, I’d say yes
The Teapot has my address. He’s short and stout and that’s the way I like em. When he gets all steamed up, he will shout, so I just tip him over and pour him out.
They probably could. There aren’t many Marica’s in the US and my Xanga shows my state. lol
Psh. I ain’t scared of no teapot. Besides, I have a vicious guard dog.
Doubtful. I suppose you could get a pretty good idea of where I live because I post about it frequently, but I don’t really have very much personal information details like that. I don’t have Xanga linked to my facebook, and I’ve never posted my full name. I suppose if you looked hard enough you could find things, but I really don’t see why anyone would want to go through all that trouble to bother me, and since I haven’t been in jail or had anything happen to me in my past that I’m ashamed of, i wouldn’t mind if someone did. I’m more concerned about people in real life finding my Xanga than I am about people in Xanga finding my real life.
Anyway, being as I don’t think I’ve annoyed people the way that the Teapot’s subject did, I don’t see why anyone would go through all that trouble. If you want to know something about me, just ask.
123 Fake Street
Springfield, USA
I will sue anyone who looks up my address via Google or Xanga.
Heh, I lead a pretty ordinary life so I don’t have anything to hide. Google or Xanga search away.
Xanga? Absolutely not. No one here even knows my first name!
The internet in general, thanks to my brother, probably. From me alone, still no. I take great care in internet security.
@Rob_of_the_Sky - 123 fake street huh…ok mr simpson.
He can probably find my Facebook, which is set on private. If he uses Google, he will also come up on my Linkedin, and a few things in which I participated in High School
I’d be more concerned that they discovered my Google Search history.
yep, i probably should be more careful.
If they did find me, I’d LAUGH them to death!
If someone really wanted to search they could find pretty much everything about me online. Using the internet since age 11 with little care about privacy or future employment was probably not a good idea. My facebook is nothing to worry about, though.
And posting where you live and especially your children’s names is just over the line.
He could find out the size of my massive …
they’ll run for their life, because my room looks like I’m high on drugs, which I’m not, but some are creeped out by the overwhelming girliness, mountains of stuffed animals and splashes of vibrant color everywhere like living in a princess masterpiece
the opposite of freddy kreuger, but the adorable cinnamoroll girl
if the psycho kidnaps my plushies, I’ll hunt them down
The information is honestly not that hard to come by.
Maybe my old one, but I doubt from this account.
Celestial is awesome. Hater’s gonna hate.
I imagine, but why would they , i’m neither rich nor hot….
Maybe, but they’d find that I’m so boring…yawn…it wouldn’t be worth their trouble.
I won’t post the information about my family on internet, that is not good.
Nice to see you again!
So upset and ridiculous, PDF splitter, PDF split, Extract PDF pages
People are more than welcome to try.
The lengths some internet users will go to to hunt down other internet users is scary. I don’t think I post enough personal info for someone to have decent means to find me though
meh. probably.
Meh – if someone found out where I lived and such, they should pay a visit to me !
We’ll watch those old 1960 Batman episodes and maybe Kung Fu with David Carradine.
Actually my sister is all miffed right now cause she’s been searching for me all over the internet right now and finding me using her first name when I reference my sister. I don’t do that now, but she’s still mad about it.
If someone’s digging up personal information on others, they must not have too much a life of their own.
Nope. I learned that lesson early on. For professional reasons I prefer to keep the Xanga site totally private. The only way I know of that someone could trace me is to hack Xanga, get my IP address and do a trace back. In all honesty, the potential for that is not keeping me up nights.
You probably could find some years-old info about me. But this is why my profile’s locked down anyhow.
apparently someone in the music industry is also using my username now online, including youtube; so it makes me glad it would be more difficult to track my info down. I try to be pretty general in my blogs, but I sometimes edit personal info on xanga. I am not saying it would be impossible but I try to make it more difficult, ha ha.
I don’t think it’s all that difficult to do. And I don’t have some huge secret that I am terrified people may find out about me, nor have I told a bunch of lies that I fear may be exposed, so it wouldn’t bother me too much. And, as @firetyger said, we have protection so if anyone wanted trouble here, they might get more than they bargained for.
Nothing. I have a very common name, which I never give out, as does my husband. I don’t bother to hide the city I live, but it’s huge.
And since I don’t want people to find me, I don’t link to my facebook. Geez, even I have been to that lady’s facebook, after seeing a rec’d comment where she included a link to it.
Sites like facebook and linkedin centralize stalking. It has all information at once place, so once someone finds it, you’re over.
(For instance, if your facebook account is http://facebook.com/loonsbutt and you link it all over Xanga and someone unintended finds it, you only have yourself to blame.)
Normally, though, it seems to take quite a bit of information to pin someone down:
(1) You’d need a full name. This is a key to that unlocks the public databases out there (court records, property records, etc.– google ties all of this in one searchable engine)
(2) Location or other information to to prune name matches. Even if you have a rare full name, there will be someone else in your state with the exact same name. It’ll take more than one bit of very specific information to narrow searches down to *you.*
If you’re a private person and even if you’re careful about not giving out your name, it’s important to not leave specific clues for it.
(For instance, if you say, “I’m the track coach at Barstow high school this year,” someone can still track you down by googling the newspaper for the area and doing an internal site search for local h.s. sports articles.)
Ah, another thing is don’t fucking recycle screennames– especially if it’s something very specific. A few years ago, DrugInducedDuck pissed me off and when I googled his account name, I found a dozen other accounts accross the web– coming across everything from his full name, address, job applications, and amateur poetry. (The poetry and work history made me feel sorry for him.) If you’re the sort of Xangan to make enemies or post questionable shit, please compartmentalize your internet identities by not associate them with one another.
I love everyone here, and could not imagine being rude to or harming any one of you guys irl. I mean this– even if that person LoBorn, Diva, or ASM. (Especially them, since I’m sure they’re actually nicer and more interesting irl than they are online.) Okay, maybe not StatelessPilot/ MathematicalDouchebagger. I fucking hate that guy.
There is a great difference in gleaning information about someone and then looking it up online for your own personal use, than posting that information.
@Chayton_Dyami - “There is a great difference in gleaning information about someone and then looking it up online for your own personal use, than posting that information. “
Sure. One makes better use of the information than the other.
come and try
B-but you only have two hands, and those seven feet of yours can’t possibly hold the other 30 guns! Or…can they? O.o
@RazielV - i believe i may have all of your personal info…..
@justfinethanku - Pfft. Not from online, goober
You still working for them?
@RazielV - nope, I opened up my own shop.
PS, I just took a look, and yeah, I can find out where you live based on your profile. I will message you with the incriminating link.
@justfinethanku - coo
@RazielV - message sent… enjoy.
Nothing, because my site is on friends-lock and only two people have access to it.
Possibly. If not, I’m sure the combination of al the social media sites I use could provide the information they wanted. Buts its a bit convoluted to piece together. I made sure of that.
OH NO….ALL MY INU-YASHA FAN-FICTION!
I don’t really think they’d find anything worth finding, or anything I wouldn’t have shared on my own.

@Celestial_Teapot - http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
Enjoy Prison
@Celestial_Teapot - If anyone else you did this to has not run out their statute of limitations they should nail you and put you in prison also.
http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
Stop your hate blogging about victims of a crime. http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
@leaflesstree - Anyway, being as I don’t think I’ve annoyed people the way that the Teapot’s subject did, I don’t see why anyone would go through all that trouble. If you want to know something about me, just ask.
SLIPPERY SLOPE you are on right here - these people are victims, it’s not a secret who you’re talking about, the perps could go to prison for 1 to 5 years and the victims have no reason at all not to press charges, they’re doing it, it’s in the system.
So you blame the victims saying this “You have not annoyed people the way the Teapot’s Victim annoyed people” sounds like you’re saying they deserved illegal acts done against them.
That means you are very annoying right now. And cruel and careless like theo, the lawyer from last night who harassed and ridiculed newdog the victim for calling out people to denounce it and for talking about suing, in fact, I’ve love to see your documentation of having been annoyed by these victims. Because everyone knows who you mean and I say you’re lying.
Here’s what’s about to happens to the people who continue to violate and go after these victims of this crime, this is becoming a “collective hate and stalking of victims.
California takes cyber stalking very seriously, the people who did this to them might be looking through PRISON bars or JAIL which is worse. Keep laughing and making light, that’s intelligent, get your documentation together for their offenses against you, I’ll call you to court.
Or come out right here right now and admit nobody ever did a single thing to you and open your mouth and denounce the witch hunt, you managed to open your mouth to refer to the victims.
It’s NOT a crime to refuse to change a mind when someone comes to your blog, like you might have done, and said “You’re wrong” I’ve been watching that blog and people like you. It’s not a crime to block people, if they blocked you.
they never stalked you, if you say they did prove it or exercise your right to shut up and not ridicule victims of crimes and exercise your right to tell the truth, that you were full of it when you said what you said here.
@RazielV - http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
Look for your papers. You’re getting served.
@hollowhopes - only intelligent commenter here so far.
It’s actually a crime in addiction to being reprehensible. http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
@BenelliMan - Haters gonna hate, and stalkers gonna go to jail for 1 to 5 years. and pay fines and get supremely inconvenienced.
http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
@WaitingToShrug - You are LYING keep it up the victims are tired of the group with hunt , you shut up and stay out of it or continue to be stupid, I’ve documented all you’ve said and recced.
Watch the offenders go to jail.
. http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
@Celestial_Teapot - Everytime you’ve gloated just like where you did it right there, about what you did to these victims, that is documented now. Keep it up. You’ve been gloating about what you did, you’re admitted it was done ‘maliciously’ not that it matters. Keep it up. Enjoy your inconvenience if you do manage to fight the case and not land in county jail for AT LEAST a year depending on what your personal history looks like.
http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
IRONY – is where you live too!
Not a lot. I check myself to see what can be found. SO I know what i need to never let out (publicly) to separate me from many others with my name. There is one way i can be tracked down, but it make it so I would find out who is tracking me. And the truth be told, Im not all that exciting
@Celestial_Teapot - Throwing out detailed stalking guidelines and too stupid to realize it’s a crime in your own state.
GOOGLE something you NEED to know.
California Cyberstalking Law
@MCTCanadian - Quick look reveals you are not in a relationship and concentrating on poetry. That could always change because who knows if we suddenly get a relationship or switch from poetry to other stuff.
I am in a sort of relationship and have switched topics etc. So far I have no real fans on my site but it could also depend on definition, similarily to haters, who knows?
@daydreams_nightmares - Your friend lock, do you check another person’s blog before allowing a friend to enter or just folks IRL?
Friend lock is only as good as how well you filter that person…..
Nobody could find anything even if I posted my personal info online.
I don’t care. haha.
Could a person figure out the address of anyone? They have websites that make money doing the very thing. A lot of phone numbers are available and the IP address gives computer literate folks a way to track down where folks post from. Bin Ladin never had an IP address. He sent his messages via USB flash drives to messengers who posted at various locations.
Theo Dan still does not address the issue of deflamation of character. Can people post stuff like a certain person was arrested? If they post saying alleged crime, that would be getting that info less harmful.
Celestral Teapot made the mistake of not saying alleged……
@PPhilip - the people I have friended are people I knew from an old account, and I know and trust them (they’re also on my FB). So yeah, I filter my friends pretty strictly, lol.
pretty much people will know my first name, and also that i’m from toronto, canada. there are too many people like me here too
@MCTCanadian - Actually Canada can be too small. Who knows if the destined one for you will easily find you.
Yeah if we all are similar, then we all would enjoy being with each other.
Theo Dan’s blog
Addresses no wrong.
The readers desire to pimp,
To address the harms and
laugh at others.
Such is the variety of xanga.
@LKJSlain - Right, because you’ve reccommended every single hate blog written about these victims of a crime, and you’ve done it like you do everything, in the name of Jesus.
@PPhilip - yea also, I don’t really mind meeting random strangers as long as they are friendly (most are I believe).
@PPhilip - Friend lock is of no help in the event of certain types of Cyberstalkers.
@Big_Bang_Theory - uhhh… okay 9_9
My point is, I wouldn’t care what he found out about me. Because I put it out there, hence, it’s public.
@LKJSlain - my point was stated as such. Simple factual statement.
@Big_Bang_Theory - I’m lying about… having a common name? Living in a big city? Seeing her facebook profile? LOL. I’m not really worried about California’s penal code, being that I live in Texas… and haven’t done anything wrong!
Silly!
@WaitingToShrug - That latter part of what you said has been incorporated into the records.
@Big_Bang_Theory - Yeah, I have no idea what you’re talking about…
NEXT
@LKJSlain - The way it was presented is not legal http://chayton-dyami.xanga.com/764110318/california-penal-code-6469/
@LKJSlain - I have copies of every hate blog your recced. But that’s only a coincidence, it’s not illegal to recommend an illegal act. Kind of like what my mother said about her smoking in the vehicle. Jesus is OK with it but don’t tell dad.
@Big_Bang_Theory - Okay, well assuming that I didn’t know that (Which I did not…) I didn’t write it… and I’m not getting into a debate/argument with you about it.
@Big_Bang_Theory - and btw… I rec things sometimes to show everyone else the conduct of the WRITER… not always because I agree with it… Seriously… this is pointless.
@WaitingToShrug - Why wait to shrug? Why not just shrug now?
@LKJSlain - tell it to the Jesus.
@Big_Bang_Theory - The Jesus knows, but thanks anyways. haha.
@LKJSlain - ”I didn’t know” is expressly excluded as a defense against this crime, however, I never said you committed an illegal act.
@Big_Bang_Theory - Whatever. As I said, I am not involved in this regard… so whatever. Moving on.
@LKJSlain - Involved only by recommending all the hate blogs. Therefore your face is all over my records and when I saw it I mentioned that.
@Big_Bang_Theory - I have recced hate posts about ME before… so I don’t know what your point is.
Seriously, I’m not responding to this anymore.
@LKJSlain - ok beause you keep talkin which makes it sound like you wanna fight. people who don’t wanna fight shut up. my boxing gloves are already on, this place has been a three ring circus of hatred against the victims for a week. I’ll fight if you wanna. It’s slowing down something else I’m doing, but
SHRUG, why wait?
@Big_Bang_Theory – posting information publicly is jot stalking
@BenelliMan - Not going to litigate this on Xanga Thank the Lord. Witch hunt central. American legal system has this now. Penal punishment and sentencing for violating California Penal code 646.9 Cyberstalking. It isn’t up to you.
It is obvious to anyone that the Celestial Teapot is a hacker who likes to dig into other people’s personal info for the fun of it.
I don’t really care if people look me up because I have nothing to hide and I won’t get irritated like other people would.
@Celestial_Teapot - ”Sites like facebook and linkedin centralize stalking. It has all information at once place, so once someone finds it, you’re over.”
It’s nice that he states what it is that he is doing - Stalking
They might find out my bank account info but they wouldn’t be able to figure out that my P.I.N. number is 7302. Fucking idiots!
I’m on Facebook, so yes- my home town is available, as are the facts that I have a son, my wife is deceased, I live in my in-laws’ second home, I am not a damn bit romantically interested in any of the women I presently know and I work in area schools. I don’t have a criminal record. That should about cover anything anyone would be interested in, for now.
Why not just ask? I’ll tell ya anything you want to know about me.
I have had stalkers before who found where I was because of my blog or myspace/facebook page. I’m not too worried about it these days, but I imagine if it was really important to somebody to find me they could do it.
Now, why anyone would want to do that is beyond me.
@Kellsbella - LOL,when I did my post called Xangan’s set to Music2 I used that song for him
It’s perfect
@Somefishytales - I dig the Teapot. Not crazy about his politics, but I like to play with fire…. now you’ve got me thinking…..that would really be a fun post to put everyone into music (at least how we hear them in our own minds) Hmmmm…….you’ve taken me off on a tangent now….
@Kellsbella - Go look at what I did.You can probably put teapots xanga name in the search and it will come up.It wasn’t too long ago I did it.Maybe a couple of months.You can get an idea if you want to try something.It was my second time to do it.Most people liked it
@Kellsbella - Never mind,Ijust went to it and I didn’t know Playlist had been changed.You have to go to Playlist.com now Stupid playlist!
@Big_Bang_Theory - I’m your huckleberry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCSFXFHTj7I&feature=endscreen&NR=1
@Somefishytales - I’m coming to stalk you now. I just had to put a bully in his place. I mean, her place.
@Kellsbella - Bring it!
I don’t how this Internet sleuth would find out information about me, but I bet he/she could.
They could probably guess my home town. Stalkers are clever.
Happy Father’s Day, Dan!
I don’t think so! Most people here don’t know my real name (my mama did not name me Tired) and most people online don’t know my legal name. haha! And others don’t know the name I use.
they would get bored looking at my life.
aw, shucks. I’m bored with my life.
if anyone wants to look into my life that deeply, well, I will trade you lives, as your life is more boring than my life is.
