Wearing Dirty Socks
I always have plenty of clean socks available.
I have never worn a pair of socks two days in a row. I never take dirty clothes and put them on for a second day.Would you ever wear dirty socks?

Yuck, no to the dirty socks, once they are off they are off till laundry day. I do wear the same shirt or sweater a few days in a week. I hardly leave my house and if I do it is only for an hour or 2 so my go out clothes are pretty clean.
Socks do not become dirty until you take them off. So, if you wear them for five days you are safe. But take them off after wearing them five minutes, they are dirty! Get clean ones!
Not unless I was completely out. I change my socks at least once a day. I wear jeans forever though.
I would only wear socks two days in a row if I was walking around a pile of leaves in them or got really sweaty that day.

In the course of 53 years I have occasionally had to wear socks – and everything else – two days in a row. Usually when that happens, clean clothes are the last thing on my mind.

yeah I have. sometimes they were just fashionable and stayed clean. unless they’re dirty and smell or sweaty I won’t.
I went camping for 11 days last month and it wasn’t until i got up there that I realized I didn’t pack socks.

You know, I gotta say! My Gramma gave me some pretty good advice, one time. She told me that just because you wear an outfit once, doesn’t mean it’s dirty. Less laundry that way. I only throw things in the hamper if I was doing yard work, did something where I sweat a lot or spilled food on it. And, yeah, I typically wear the same pair of socks two days in a row! I only have one pair of jeans, so that HAS to get more than one wear out of it, before I wash it.

When I was a kid I wore socks for a number of days in a row, and i got horrible athelite’s foot that caused wierd bloodless cuts in between my toes. Then it went into my toenail. The only thing that would get rid of it was Lamisil. A cautionary tale, always wear clean socks!
ew. no. whenever I wear socks my feet get super sweaty. no way am I standing around in aged foot sweat. blech.
I only change my underwear once a month.

To the gym, yes.
Yeah I can do 2 days in a row. No biggy. I will change them if for some reason they got sweaty or wet at some point.

I dislike shoes and usually only wear flip flops. I’ll wear socks if I have to and they’re always clean since I hardly ever wear them.
I wear dirty socks if I’ve lost most of them in the washer or dryer. For some reason my pairs come out in singles

Usually they aren’t dirty by the second day (for me) and sometimes you find yourself in situations where its all you’ve got…..so yes, its not preferable but I would do it if its all I had

Ew. No. I like my socks to be clean thanks. Unfortunately my kittens have a habit of stealing my socks off the airer then dragging them around the house so they aren’t clean…

I like clean socks and sometimes I wear two pairs a day with my tennis shoes. I mean sports shoes.

i wear socks maybe 2 times, But only if they are semi-clean.

I can not deny that I may have done so accidentally though.
I’ve worn clothes a second day plenty of times (I’m sorry to say), but for some reason socks are different. Even if I only had them on an hour, once they come off, I can’t put them back on. It’s just wrong. (Of course, if dirty socks were all I had, I’d just have to get over it.)

When I go camping, I take one to wear and one to air, alternating days I wear them. I only use wool or bamboo socks, though. I wouldn’t do this with cotton socks, as that would be a recipe for athlete’s foot.

I’d rather change my socks midday if I could. My feet sweat too much, even barefoot, and I don’t like the Rx antiperspirant liquid stuff.
Arguably, yes, I have put on a clean pair of socks so I could tag along in the car to pick up dinner, and worn those same socks the next day.
I have yes especially when I didn’t have a washer and washed all my clothes with a bucket lol. That and I have fuzzy socks I just wear around the house when its cold. They don’t really get dirty so I don’t wash them all that much.
Always clean socks. Mismatched socks on the other hand are a-okay.
Another ‘cleaniness’ post? I wear my socks 2 days in a row only b/c I don’t sweat much – esp in the dry winter days.
i would only wear dirty socks in extreme conditions..for example in a tornado..
As a diabetic, it’s important that I put on clean socks every day and wear shoes and socks all the time. I cheated and wore sandals all summer, though. But I never go barefoot. Yeah, I know. More than you asked for LOL
What!! I am supposed to be wearing socks!!!? The next you are going to tell me is that I am supposed to be wearing underwear!!!
Well this beats asking how you would commit suicide or betting on how many people died in Sandy…as for wearing dirty clothes… define “dirty”.
Why is it that after 24 hours, clothes are automatically dirty? Why not after 12?
People say “Oh, I change my socks every day, but wear the same jeans three days in a row…. But every time you sit down at a cafe or on a bus, you rub God-knows-what into the backside of your jeans..and ultimately, your backside… yet we wear underwear for 12 or 24 hrs and never think a thing about it…thin material that rubs directly against your skin in your most intimate and damp areas…talk about bacteria and odor…. you’d think we’d change underwear 4 times a day…
For those of you freaking about Athete’s Foot, how often do you wash your tennis shoes, treat them with foot powder or moisture/odor powder, or just replace them?
I told my mum about your question Dan on holiday last night, I said your site is fantastic.
Now on holiday I get lazy. take enough to last me, in summer just at night, don’t bother much during the day, if we going somewhere warm (like Mexico, Cuba, United States etc)
