Where is Home?
I am currently in Northwest Indiana.
In a touching moment, my one younger brother asked me to play catch with him. We are so much older now but we walked outside and threw the football around and talked about life just like when we were kids.
I just listened as he talked about what was going on.
I have had so many childhood memories pour into my brain.
Northwest Indiana is home for me.
Where is your home?

Pennsylvania!
In similar fashion to Neil Diamond’s famous line of “L.A.’s fine, but it ain’t home, New York’s home, but it ain’t mine no more” I hail from Cleveland Ohio, but I live in Williamstown West Virginia now.
We bounced around a lot when I was growing up. I didn’t put down roots until I was an adult with a kid of my own. Southwest Michigan is home – just up the road from you!
East Central Indiana
My little corner of Canada is home. I’m so glad you are having a good trip and welcome home!
Home is wherever my family is.
Southeast Colorado
I’ve never really had a place I consider ‘home’… But i can say that when I’m where nobody else is, then I feel ever so slightly more at home.
Central California near the coast.
I haven’t one.
i felt at home when i was in Hawaii for a few days, felt at home in Seoul for a couple of weeks, never really feel at home at home unless i’m sleeping in my bed.

I feel divided because on one hand, I don’t have a “homestead”, somewhere where we (my family) have to settle down, stay and build and make our own. On the other hand, when I’m with my family I feel at home. When I’m in places I love I feel at home. When I’m in nature I feel at home. So, it’s strange, you see? Or maybe you don’t, I don’t know.

I heard it’s where the heart is..so wherever my kids are I would say. But, location wise, “City of Brotherly Love”…Philly!
My home now is NE Indiana. It used to be So. Calif. I still think of the Central African Republic as home too. I just thought of the song “This world is not my home.” I know that’s a complicate answer to a simple question.

I was born and raised in Southern California, then lived northern Nevada cowboy country, but now in Utah; and Utah feels the most like home.
I grew up in Austin, TX. I used to call that home, even after I left I always assumed I would go back. But if I went back, it would feel foreign to me. It’s been 12 years since I’ve been back. I hear it’s changed a lot. I currently reside Near Syracuse, NY. I’ve been here ever since I left Texas. I don’t like it but I don’t hate it.
I’d ultimately like to live in a rural area close to a big city in a warmer climate.

Meh, I’ve moved so much I don’t really feel like I have a home. But my family has been a constant, particularly my sisters and husband, so I always feel at home when I’m with them.

this question confuses me, is home where I reside for 6/7days or where my parents’ live? I refer to both as home.

@MomWithoutaMinivan - I have lived in Austin since the early 80′s. Yes! A lot has changed in the last 12 years! More traffic – more sprawl.
But the Zilker park tree is still there – and they are bringing back the Trail of Lights this year.
childhood home is Olancha, California…I am now in El Dorado, California…
I live in Honolulu, Hawaii but I don’t know where I could consider my home. I was born and raised in Western NY state, but I haven’t been there in years.
My home is out on the Washington Coast. Was born here and still live here.

Even though I was born and raised around Peterborough and Leicester, Nottingham is where I feel most at home. I guess you could say the English East Midlands will always be my home

or go and see my sister in another city in the United Kingdom.
I like getting away from the city where I live.
Home is “Middle of the Mitten” Michigan. I love my home state. But, truly home is where my family is!

My sons would say NW IN too as would my husband. But until my mom moves, it is Muncie Indiana… I’m still bummed that I missed the chance to meet you!

Home is wherever I am currently living. I’m currently living in Ecuador, so that’s home now. Before, it was Fargo, ND.

Those of us who grew up in fast moving urban areas (So. CA, So.FL, etc) don’t seem to view those much-changed areas as home while slow-changing places in the midwest are still remembered fondly.I grew up in So. FL – a place I never intend to re-visit. Forty+ years ago we bought a summer place in down-east ME and it is the only constant in our many moves later life. We consider our summer place home.

Home is where your heart lies. I’ve always been here in Denver, CO, but truth is that no matter where you are, as long as you know it’s a place to call home, home could be anywhere you want it to be. I have half my heart in New Jersey, because even though I have only lived there for two years of my life, I have family there. Home is where your family is, and for those who are unfortunately without family- whether it be by personal choice or not, home is where you want it to be.

Garwood, New Jersey is where I was raised and Elizabeth, New Jersey is where I live now.
I love both places but Garwood has changed a lot….to the point where it is not the same Garwood that I was raised in and I don’t care for the changes much. And I love Elizabeth warts and all.
First, home is Texas (yep, I am from Texas, ha!).
My family is in Houston, my hometown.
But being single, home is mostly where I am at (and my stuff), which is West Texas.

@Donkey_Guy_10 - I was devastated to hear that the trail of lights had been taken away. So happy to hear it’s coming back. I can’t wait to take my children there one day.

@MomWithoutaMinivan - The trail of lights has changed over the years. It used to be a drive through event, then they changed it to walk through, then it was gone for a couple of years, but they said they are bringing it back! The Zilker Park tree has never gone away though!
