I use LOL… that’s about it. But I type everything else out properly.
No. It really doesn’t save that much time. If I spell something incorrectly, I do it on purpose and to be silly. I never use “u” or “ur”, either.
I’m not a 16 year old girl.
For the most part, I type things all out. Besides a few things like “coz (because)” and “n (and).” The grammar Nazi in me gets bothered by it if I don’t, but it does make a few exceptions. lol
Btw – When I saw your title, for some odd reason I thought this was going to be a poll regarding a woman’s contractions felt during childbirth. haha
In the age of unlimited texts and predictive text I don’t see the point n text contractions… other than ‘lol’

@Lithium98 - That makes the Justin Bieber poster on your wall very creepy.
@amateurprose - Hey, leave the Beebs alone. BELIEBERS UNITE!!!
I usually type it out except things like LOL. I’m a mad fast typist though so it doesn’t take me much longer.
When I text, I text as if I were writing an essay. I use correct punctuation and spelling and I nearly never use stupid LOL’s OMG’s or anything like that. I am not illiterate. And I get tired of those who are.
I hope you and Shimmer are having fun at the meet-up. Jealous!!
I spell everything out.
I use lol…but that’s about it. Sometimes I’ll use omg, wtf, and nvm, but its usually only if i’m not paying attention and trying to send off a text reallllly fast.
I try and use the best text speech as I could.
who wants to find out?
Half and half I’d say. I don’t use “u/ur/noe” and things like that because it really doesn’t make a difference in terms of efficiency. But I still use “lol, wtf, w/e, etc.”
Yes, I do. It’s such a bad habit, I sometimes misspell things now, like txt rather than text, or ppl rather than people. But I’m cool like dat.
I do not!
btw, lol, and lmao are about the only substitutes I’ll use. Add to that the occasional :p or and that’s the limit of my “text-speak.” Seriously, it doesn’t take that long to type out the full words. U no wut I meen?
I dont use commas and contractions whenever i use my iphone its too much of a pain.
I got my first real textable phone last Christmas. I have since found out that one of my pet peeves is when people type in text speak instead of using full words or things like commas and periods.
I have been told that I never use contractions, anytime.
No. I type everything out unless it’s “lol” or “lmao” or something along those lines. I find it annoying when others text me with terrible grammar.
I try not to text speech when I text, but sometimes it just happens…it’s a bit degrading to grammar/spelling/language skill
I used to be textually active, until my thumbs started to get carpal tunnel – or something!
@Lithium98 - I am, and I would never use them either.
Yes I do use text speech when I text. I had contractions when I had my babies<:) Granny is a smart ass.
I spell it all out and use contractions. AND I’m still using my Razor, where “S” requires hitting the 7 key four times.
I don’t text but I heard that the older you are the less you appreviate your words.
It’s a pain to type the apostrophe so I tend to type things out unless its LOL or something similar. If the apostrophe were easier to access on my phone, I would use it more often. Type wont when I mean won’t would bug me.
Its faster to type contractions….then again, i still have a flip phone…
is this post about text speech (lol, omg, wtf, etc.), or contractions (won’t, it’s, isn’t, etc.)???
Shimmerbodycream: uh… hey Dan.
Dan embraces her at that moment. Then brings herbody closer to his much more physical.
“Dan… you’re hurting me.”
“I’m sorry Nataly, I was just so damn happy to see you. Come this way, I know a perfect place to fill our tummys.”
Shimmerbodycream: So Dan, is xanga really going to shut down?
Dan: Don’t tell anyone, but I’m paying the staff $$$ to keep it afloat. All I want is more females to show their boobs, this year’s savetheboobs campaign did not go so well.
Shimmerbodycream: So what are you going to do.
Dan: I’m going to personally meet as many females as I can, build rapport, and once I earn their trust, I’m sure I can get many more to show it off. But I need you Nataly… these girls look up to you, if you make it look like the popular thing to do, hec, they’ll all start taking it off.
Contractions are a little bit different than anagrams. I don’t use anagrams. I also don’t use contractions when I’m pissed off. Are you pissed off a lot.?

to be understook is the goal..
Autocorrect adds the punctuation most of the time.
I never use text speech.
I don’t text very often :p
No I usually type things out properly or I start to remind myself of me when I was 14 years old
I have to do it properly-even commas in the right places-or I don’t feel right about it. Must be my English major showing.
I think I use a mix, depending on how much time I have to send the message. Mostly I try to write it out like I would say it.
Misread that at first, thought it said… “Shimmerbodycream told me that when I text I never use contraception”… I was like, WTF?
sometimes… I can switch either way… I have suggestions on and often I use the keys and click on the suggestions.
