Snapchat is a photo messaging application that allows users to take photos of themselves and send to their friends. The photos disappear in ten seconds. Here is the link: Link
I am still trying to figure out a practical purpose for the app.
Would you ever use snapchat?

Mmm, no!
It’s probably only useful so that you can send naughty pics and they disappear right away. That’s all I can think of…or hideous, funny pics that you don’t want to be blackmailed with.
they cant stop you from saving a screenshot..
Yes.
ohmy
@amateurprose - It’s called a hooker.
@amateurprose - MWHAHAHA …..I like that idea better then a hooker….
I like it. Totally down.
So it displays for only ten seconds… unless you screenshot and save it.
Whose boobs are those?
No to the Hell!!! Though it kinda sounds like how my mind works…thought enters, and 10 seconds later I have absolutely no memory of it.
I would use it at least as much as I use AIM and Instagram and Facebook Chat and Meebo… Maybe even twice as much.
I’m sure the app secretly stores anything you shoot. The digital age is a tricky bastard because, well… nothing is truly deleted. Who knows? A nip shot can come back to haunt you.
I miss the good ol’ days of Booty Calls. Those were simpler times.
@wildchildofthebluemoon - thats what I was thinking too!
@wildchildofthebluemoon - screenshot… and surprise! blackmail!
@iones_island - If you’re fast. But I also don’t condone sending naughty pics, and people who send them probably deserve to be blackmailed. So…you know.
I have it on my iPod but I haven’t used it yet. I only plan to use it with my good friend who’s moving to Chile soon to keep in touch with her via silly pictures. … actually, knowing me, I probably will never use it haha.
I just sent one… oops, its gone…
how in the wolrd would it ever be useful???
NAH.. can’t see putting in 10 seconds to find out.
Is that a photo of you Dan?
As mentioned above, I’m sure it gives the user a false sense of security that the photo is gone… and in this age I very much doubt that. Heck, there’s probably some clause buried in the terms of agreement that states the app owns all your photos.
So my answer would be no, I don’t have a real use for this app. If I’m going to send a naughty picture it would be the kind they’d want to hold onto for awhile and to someone I know can be trusted with a photo that doesn’t need to self destruct, and certainly not via some app
I already use it to send nude pics to the feeders who fan me on facebook.
first time heard about it. Would it save photos for commercial use?
No. And I don’t plan to use it either. As if there isn’t a way to somehow to save it (I know two different ways of saving a duplicate picture), I don’t trust the app itself. I know Instragram was going to sell users’ pictures (and without giving the profits to the users themselves) to third party advertisers but then didn’t because of people deleting their profiles or threatening to.
And honestly, I seriously see more cons to this app than pros.
Hell yea! I’m gonna go look it up now. Haha. I wish the photos wouldn’t disappear though…
How could you post my photo?
But does it remain in the cache?
@wildchildofthebluemoon - I don’t think people who send naughty photos deserve to be blackmailed, at least not all of them. I send them on occasion to my husband, who is in the military and has to be away for lengths of time. I don’t think I deserve to be blackmailed for trying to be a good wife to my husband. If he’s going to look at someone’s body, I rather it be mine.
Naughty but nice. This is something that shouldn’t be shared
@anth0nyc - that’s what i was about to say lol
@cmarf -
In context, it was pretty clear she wasn’t referring to a married couple. Maybe don’t be so defensive, needlessly?
I have it! I use it with one friend. And you can change it from 1-10 seconds and we make funny faces and send random shit. Hasn’t been a dirty picture yet. I love it. It’s fun
mine probably would go viral and not disappear. lol lol lol
Is that your mistress?
i wonder if years from now when snapchat goes bankrupt, they will release all the pictures they have stored… now that would be golden…
Aww Danny boy, are you getting your post inspiration from Momaroo again? LINK
You were out-scooped by us, darlin’.
@sarahsmurfette - I don’t know why I love it when
TheoDan gets bad press. I just do. It is so neat
that he never even bats an eye!
Maybe that’s it? Maybe not?
How come your face isn’t blue?
@Hunt4Truth - True love’s kiss took away all my blues.
Yes, my daughter and I were snapchatting people all Christmas. It was hysterical. lol
@steph843 - Snap chat tells you if the person saves the picture. So, you know.
@wildchildofthebluemoon - What? I’m almost 40 years old and if I decide to send someone a shot of my tits I deserve to be blackmailed? Really? C’mon, no one deserves to be blackmailed. It’s not illegal to send naked pictures to another adult. (FTR: I have never sent naked pictures of myself anywhere, but damn if I got a hair up my butt to do it, I’m surely old enough and wise enough to decide to do so and blackmail shouldn’t even factor into it.)
@TiredSoVeryTired - 40… you’re a baby. Not to worry, I’m with the DEA, we could care less about nudity.
@Hunt4Truth - ha… well, 40 is ancient to some. Yeah, nudity in America is the least of our worries right now.
I’m guessing it’ll be very popular. I might use it, but I doubt it.
@TiredSoVeryTired - I don’t recommend it. lol I know one gal who did get blackmailed due to a silly weight loss program.
@TiredSoVeryTired - Just hopefully whoever you send it to is trustworthy. People get so touchy.
I wish I had a purpose to take nudes that needed deletion to begin with.
@ANVRSADDAY - lol I don’t recommend it either, but gee… naked pictures are the least of any real concern. How did she get blackmailed by a weight loss thing?
@wildchildofthebluemoon - And if people aren’t trustworthy, the rest of America should be mature about it and get over it.
@TiredSoVeryTired - Oh… right, of course. Well, you’d better not send me the pictures though. I’m over 60. Who knows what getting nude pictures might do to me. Thanks anyway. Very nice offer.
@Hunt4Truth - haha Well, my dad is 60.
@TiredSoVeryTired - She agreed to a diet called ‘The Blackmail Diet.’ She and a friend used a version of it, it was voluntary.
@TiredSoVeryTired - THATS NOT RIGHT!
Don’t even send him those naughty pictures.
You’re a bad girl!
Seriously, I hope you feel a little frsky.
It’s good for you.
If you receive a naughty pic from me, I’ve probably spend hours taking millions of pics… sooooooo, if it disappears in 10 seconds, it’s just a waste of my time and so little joy for you.
No
Hi, Dan! Hope you had a fun Christmas! This post of yours cracks me up!
haha i have snapchat. its okay
I always say I wouldn’t like something new then I end up trying it and loving it. I haven’t heard about this one, thanks.
Nope.
@TiredSoVeryTired - But what good does that do? You can’t take the photo back. You don’t want them to have the photo… and now they do? Seems kind of stupid. You either trust someone with a photo like that or you don’t.
@steph843 - The point I was making is that people who do send naughty pictures do not deserve to be blackmailed. I never said it was a good idea to do it. I never said people should do it, I said if I choose to do it I shouldn’t be blackmailed… and that’s the truth! The OP of the comment I responded to said that people who take naughty pictures deserve to be blackmailed. I find that notion absurd.
@TiredSoVeryTired - Well I certainly agree with you, no one deserves to have their private photos plastered on the internet or blackmailed with.
Another useless piece of technology.
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
