I think for many jobs it’s unavoidable. I do it a lot.
Sometimes I send it home without me.
Its called homework. I get a grade for it. Unfortunately I don’t really do it, ever.
I don’t have a very important job, so I really can’t take it home with me…:P
Comes with the territory when you’re a freelance artist. In fact, concerning the craft, I have no idea what it’s like to work in an actual studio. I think I need the studio/company gig just to stay focused. Home equals distractions. Things like life happen at home. Nothing goes down at the office… except the office.
You should take a break, Dan. Stop working so hard.
Not really. I work retail, though, so that’s fairly simple to leave there. I’ve gotten better about leaving the stresses there as well.
Depends… I feel if it’s the negative emotional aspect that we sometimes experience, most likely and preferably not. However if it’s a desire to learn even more, why not? :3
I work as an assistant coach for the local college’s cheerleader team. I try to take my work home with me every chance I get.
Not in the way you might think… my work follows me home because I am, as my bosses say “The most knowledgeable person here, and the only one who knows how to fix the problems.”
I wouldn’t really like it if I had to take my work home with me, with the exception being a teacher to grade stuff. I think that work should be completed within your paid and allotted hours in the office. I wouldn’t like for my work to follow me everywhere. I have other things to do like volunteering and such.
With the new business I’ve bought into, and have become an independent represented of, I don’t have any other choice but to take it home with me… http://ctaretz.acnibo.com/q_index.asp?CO_LA=US_EN.
The great thing about imagination is that it’s with you no matter where you are.
Whenever I’m hooking I prefer to hit a hotel.
My work is my wife. I love it, cherish it, hurt with it, dream with it, care deeply about it… you probably get the picture. Only my son is of greater importance; beyond the very basic need I mean.
I usually take my home to work with me. It’s more comfortable sleeping in my own bed at work.
I do my work from home, so I guess the answer is yes.
I sell computers at Best Buy, so no. Although sometimes I come up with good selling strategies in the shower.
I work from home now… They used to have a full office for me downtown… Then they moved to a less central location… Then they consolidated and moved a bunch of us to cubes… Then they consolidated again and had a lot of us long time employees work from home… They don’t have the overhead for the office space anymore… They can spend it on insurance premiums instead… And I get 2 more hours back in my day…Strangely, now I wear a dress shirt everyday… I could work naked… But it would get cold.
yes.
unemployed so I don’t take work home with me.
I look for employment on the internet at home, as well as looking for ads out (tried the walk in thing, found it very difficult with my speech part of my disability)
would i take work home with me if i had a job, not really because most of the jobs i have ad we could not take the work home with us.
It depends what you do for a living. When I was a manager I used to make schedules at home, but now my job doesn’t require any at-home work. I now use the time I would spend doing work stuff complaining about work stuff instead
Whereever I go, my work follows me. I can’t drive away this dog. I can only feed it. It eats up my thoughts and my power. It drinks my dexterity. Then, after a while, it gets tired. My chance, to steal away … Cheers, Michel
I could get fired if I took my home work with me as my job requires the company computer that contains the necessary programs that can’t be installed from any computer due to confidential files. no homework for me I have been asked to work over time win/win for me the only work related thing I do at home is jot down which day is pay day. then schedule my shopping sprees accordingly on my days off
Almost daily.
Not usually unless I have to study. Most of my files can’t leave work though.
My thoughts were often consumed by my most recent job, but all the work had to be done on site during normal working hours. When I taught, most of the prep / grading was done at home.
I feel like I never really work as efficiently in school because I always feel like I can take it home
As an elementary school teacher, this happens constantly…or there would be no such things as lesson plans or graded projects.
I work with children so it would probably be illegal to take them home.
Considering the emotional abuse I endure from my client at work, I do a pretty good job of compartmentalizing it. That equals to sometimes complaining at home, but I still see my personal life as a point of relaxation de-stressing. If my luck pans out as it seems to be, I soon won’t have to be worrying about that much in my hopefully soon-to-be new job
As for taking real work home, I normally don’t have to do that anymore, besides being occasionally on-call for the mental prison. I used to have to do paperwork on my clients at home which would only equal an hour to two max each night, but not having to do that anymore has already done a lot to defray my stress levels.
Sometimes, but I feel more productive at the office. Plus, there’s a lot of stuff I can’t do at home due to security reasons.
Mentally I take problems home. But not physical work.
Yea and its a drag…
Back in the old days when I was still working as a teacher, taking work home ( lesson planning, grading, etc) was expected and considered part of the job, as were off-work conferences, parent meetings, college courses for continued certification, etc.
I liked the short school year but don’t think most people realize how long a dedicated teacher’s day is.
These days, I always take my work home. I am laid off until Spring!!!
As a waitress, no. People can get their own damn biscuits.
we get paid to take it home. I’m a retired nurse but I clean a young dr. office. We wash the gowns, sheets and take the trash home with us. lol
it gives us a little spending $
when i was working..my work followed me into my dreams at night..for years..i still dream about it…
I work in a nail salon and I also own a mechanic shop too. I hate doing paper work all day so I do nails during the day. After work, I go to my shop and grab paper documents and everything to do at home. I rather do that than be stuck in the office. I rather do paper work in bed haha.
I have a friend that always takes work home. I think he thinks it makes him more efficient because he gets more done, but at the same time like from my pov its like he’s always working.. haha
no way!
I often do work from home, I have my agency management system installed on my home computer, and most of the files are remote hosted through that system. as soon as I access the program I have all the information I need, thankfully without lugging home a bunch of cumbersome files.
