  • Pudgy Cheerleader

A female has come under fire for mentioning that some people think a cheerleader had “pudginess around her waistline.

    Here is the cheerleader:
She asked in her article:  Is this chick too chunky to be a cheerleader?  Here is the link:  Link

  • Yes.

Fat pre-teen: cute. Fat high school cheer-leader: okay. College? Hell no. Professional? WHAT THE FUCK?

  • Anyone who says yes to this, I seriously just have to shake my head at.

Some people just seriously suck ass. The girl is fine. Picking on her weight is a shitty thing to do and anyone who does so should really be ashamed of themselves.

    Douchebags.

  • nope. I think she looks great, and it’s refreshing to see such a stray from the norm.

  • @Megabyyte - right? critics are just jealous because they don’t have what it takes to be a cheerleader.

  • Definitely.  Watch, all the guys will say “yes,” and all the girls will say, “no, we are all beautiful in our own way.”

  • I think she looks like a normal girl remember back when Jane Russell was just too hot and Mae West was the bomb

  • too many things wrong with this question.  can’t.  compile.  thoughts.

  • Where is this “chunk” you speak of? If she’s chunky… well, forget it, I’m going to go eat some whole pizzas by myself because I’m fat as F***! Might as well embrace it.

  • I really really want to say no.

  • I think she looks fine.

  • This is anorexic for Oklahoma.

  • I think she is about perfect. If anything she looks more flat chested than chunky. Personally, I prefer her smaller chest to fake balloons.

  • Honestly, at first I was like, “Yes…” But the more that I look at the photo the more I’m actually wondering what the problem is. She’s fairly well proportioned. The only thing is that being flat chest perhaps is also making her look bigger than she is.

I think it’s rather funny that men get all bent out of shape when we complain about our weight, and say that we have no reason to do so, then they are the ones saying that this girl is too big when a question is posed.

  • She definitely isn’t fat. Or too pudgy. She’s like most american women. And it’s kind of refreshing to see someone who up to real standards.

  • More than likely no. But, I can tell you that my niece was a cheerleader and despite being in great shape, the captain of the squad always put alot of pressure on the girls to maintain a certain weight

  • is she too pudgy for average life?  no.

is she too pudgy to be dancing around in a bra top and short skirt?  maybe.
and on a side note, i find it ridiculous that a girl who grows up to be a cheerleader would be offended by being judged for her body type.  that’s like a chef getting pissy because he’s judged on how well he cooks a steak.  looking good is what she gets paid to do.

  • also, i’m pretty sure her hair color and tan are also fake.  so i don’t see how she can be applauded for being more “authentic.”

  • She’s fine. The women discussed in the article are just bullies.

  • I’m not sure one picture is enough to judge her on (ever had an unflattering photo, folks?), but no I don’t think she’s too pudgy. She looks fairly fit, and let’s be honest, probably hotter than 98% of the people criticizing her

  • I think she looks well-proportioned and fine.

  • @steph843 -” …probably hotter than 98% of the people criticizing her”

An irrelevant point if the job standard calls for 1st percentile hotness.

  • I’m confused, what does this have to do with beauty? She has an athletic body and is an athlete. I don’t get the people saying she is unattractive. Well, maybe she is too fat for some, but that is kind of irrelevant to what she does.

  • She is perfect! No boney arms! No ribs sticking out! Natural curves! No saggy boobs! What’s the problem?

  • Theres a standard for being a cheerleader and its not picking on her to say she needs to lose some weight and get some implants. You dont expect your hooters server to be a guy in shorts so why would you expect your cheerleaders to be chubby.

  • I sincerely apologize on behalf of my state.  The problem is that people around here can’t stop fucking their own cousins long enough to learn to appreciate what actual, attractive women look like.

  • When I was in high school many moons ago….many many moons ago….football cheerleaders were slender. Basketball cheerleaders were more heavy set. I think it was because they “stomped” better on the basketball floor. My personal preference is slender but that’s just me. I dated a football cheerleader. To be a cheerleader requires a set of skills. Rhythm, agility, athleticism, discipline, a bright attitude. This girl obviously has those skills so why shouldn’t she be a cheerleader? Critics need to get lives of their own. If I was to disqualify film actresses based on my personal taste in a woman’s looks there might be 5 actresses left in Hollywood and even that would be a stretch. I can only think of 2 offhand. Meryl Streep wouldn’t be one of them. What a loss to Hollywood it would be if I was tsar of choosing women based on my opinion of their looks.

  • Not at all! I think she looks fine the way she is. People just wanna judge and have in their mind this stereotypically skinny cheerleader.

  • she isnt fat no but definitely larger than other professionals in her profession

  • Nope, she’s hot.

  • she looks aiight, as long as she can do the routine, what’s the prob?

  • No way, I’d kill for a body like hers. She looks fab!

  • It’s all relative. She looks good but compared to 90% of other professional cheerleaders, she looks chunky.

    ……

  • she’s “thicker” around the waist than the rest of her. nothing wrong with that since she’s obv still pretty lean for her body type, some people just naturall store their body fat around their waist.

  • This is a dumb question. Every single one of us would bang her, no questions asked.

  • I see nothing wrong with her.  I think it shows how screwed up our expectations have become that we are even discussing this.

  • She’s perfect!

  • Claire Crawford made herself irrelevent by even bringing this up.

The cheerleader is okay. She is probably better at her job than Crawford is at hers. And she’s cute enough doing her job. Crawford’s just jealous.

  • I’d like to say no, because on an average person or a young cheerleader it would be fine, but on a professional cheerleader? This is someone whose livelihood depends on her body. Would an athlete be under fire if they were anorexic? Yes, because they are supposed to be fit and muscular in order to do the job they signed up to do. It’s not even about aesthetics, in the end, but realizing that if you signed up for something like this, you’re expected to look a certain way. I mean, of course people are going to notice and criticize.. ever heard, “One of these things is not like the other…”?

And let’s face it, you can have more weight on you but still not look chunky. It looks here like she’s been skimping on her training, and that does say something when it’s your job to train and perform like an athlete.

  • Being a cheerleader is like being a stripper. You are essentially being paid to have a gym membership. I need not say any more.

  • @Lithium98 -  -looks at OKC logo-  I disagree.

  • I dunno but she is not cute.

  • She is perfect!

  • Most women would be happy to look that good.

  • my neighbor’s half-sister makes $72 an hour on the laptop. She has been laid off for six months but last month her check was $19509 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Read more here http://www.wow83.com

  • If she’s “chunky,” then I am morbidly obese!

I think the real issue here is that Ms. Crawford likely couldn’t hold a candle to the cheerleader, saw the tiniest little flaw and went for it. Sadly, this sort of catty behavior seems to be encouraged lately among female writers. >.<

  • She looks incredibly healthy to me. The BBC are repeating old editions of their weekly Top 30 programme from 1978 at the moment, including the now-so-out-of-date-but-obligatory-then all-girl dance troupe, Legs & Co. They are all beautiful, but by with their full thighs, curvy but toned waists and natural (slim) dancers’ boobs they’d be laughed off the stage by some people today. Which is such a shame.

  • no, she looks good to me! and I’m a chick

  • Compared to other NFL and NBA cheerleaders yes. BUT I think she looks darn good though. I want to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and I know that the girls they look for are not skinny but instead toned. I weigh 122 pounds and I know to get on that team I have to tighten up the flab.

  • She’s hot, she may have a little junk in the trunk, but from 500 feet away in a stadium could anyone tell?

  • bad picture to ask an opinion about her body. i cant tell if she’s a chunky monkey or not.

  • She’s proportionate and looks healthy. I don’t see “pudgy” at all. I think she looks great!

  • No.  I think it’s more the angle she’s standing that to make her look heavier than she really is.  Would like to see her standing straight up.

  • men like women in all shapes and sizes.

You can tell after looking at other pictures that the one posted above is just a camera angle/pose that makes her look a little heavier.  She’s not fat at all and even if she was, who cares?  She makes more money than any of us, good for her.

  • She would not qualify for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

  • I have to agree that she is a bit chunky and does need to tone up, but that shouldn’t have any say in her profession if she has the skills to back it up.

  • Oh, that’s wifey material right there. Seriously, she’s prime breeding stock! Is she too chunky to be a cheerleader? I think she’s fine and meets the criteria. Attractive, athletic, agile, and approved. She doesn’t rattle the cages and mess with the integrity of that squad. Honestly, if the OC Thunder allows her to perform, obviously, she’s good and meets the requirements. Who are we to judge? She’s not chubby, by any stretch of the imagination. Besides, as I mentioned before, she can be the head cheerleader of my squad anytime.

  • I think cheerleading is kind of ridiculous as a “career” anyway. Personally I would not subject myself to that much scrutiny on a regular basis (I’d much rather sit at home in my sweats, eating brownies).

This girl has to know that people are watching her and judging her based on her looks– in fact, it’s her JOB to be watched. She’s probably used to people making comments about her appearance.

The women who called her pudgy are probably just jealous, but who cares? Opinions are like @$$holes, everybody’s got one. This particular cheerleader looks hotter than me, so I won’t dare call her pudgy.

  • If she can perform as she’s required, then no she’s not too fat.

  • @lovealexandria - Yep, I googled other pics of her and from what I saw, she looks nowhere as chunky/pudgy as it was claimed. It was the angle of the pic caught at an unflattering moment.

  • If she’s a good cheerleader, then what does it matter what her size is? I mean, if she’s good at it, then she must have a sufficiently athletic body. “In shape” looks different on different people. Beyond that, all opinion is based on the aesthetic preferences of other people. Everybody is going to have a different preference, so nobody will ever be 100% satisfactory. There will always be somebody who prefers someone thinner or curvier or even bigger. There is no absolute answer, so should we even bother trying to find one?

  • I place no value (good or bad) when somebody comments on my weight.  it is just something that I have learned to naturally shrug off.  That being said, NOT everyBody is LIke me.  Some People are just near the edge of that Breaking Point.

In 12th grade, I had a friend attempt suicide because just 1, 1 supposedly ‘close’ friend made a fat joke about her.  So yea, I, in know way, support this type of condemning message.

All this being said, this cheerleader looks pretty good to me.  Hell, I would ask her out if I lived near OKC, Oklahoma……………….

  • I think having more than one friggn’ picture to look at and judge is pretty important when trying to decide whether or not a girl is “too chubby to be a cheerleader.” She looks like a regular cheerleader in these two photos.

    http://www.anorak.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/kelsey-williams/kelsey-williams-chubby.jpg
Why are some people saying she’s even bigger than most cheerleaders? Professional cheerleaders usually have at least a little meat on their bones because they are very athletic. I don’t understand how someone could say she is even SLIGHTLY chubby based on these pictures. What the hell!

  • I wouldn’t call her pudgy or chunky.  She’s not petite certainly but she doesn’t have a belly or anything, she’s just a larger framed female.  Nothing wrong with that.

  • what difference does it make if someone is a little pudgy? if she’s good at what she does, has all the proper skills, and shows the optimism that’s required for such a thing, it shouldn’t matter. it’s refreshing to see a cheerleader that’s not bone thin. just because she’s not skin and bones, doesn’t mean she can’t cheer.

  • As long as she has a valid cheerleading license and meets all other local and state certification requirements, that’s good enough for me.

  • From that photo alone – yes I’d have to say she’s slightly on the “chunky” side for a CHEERLEADER.  This isn’t saying she is ugly as a person – in fact she looks like a healthy pretty woman.  But this is a sport that requires you to look fit.

  • No she’s perfect. I wish more cheerleaders looked like this.

  • She looks pretty hot looking to me…

  • well first of all, she is a pudgy around her mid section. The thing is, she still looks great. There is nothing wrong her at all. However, we shouldn’t really deny the reality of her shape in that she does have some fat around her mid-section. However, we also should emphasize that there is nothing wrong with the amount that she has and she looks great. If she put on a bit more weight or lost that tightness that she currently has, she would then have a shape undesirable for a cheerleader.

  • I think they should worry about her face first…

  • Personally, I’m 31 weeks in my second pregnancy but even before my first I’d love to be that size but let’s face it, professional cheerleaders are held to about the same standards as models.  I can swear, in that uniform I see love handles and it’s just not what people want to see in such a vein occupation.  She may be healthy but she doesn’t look toned like they usually look.  In all honesty, I’ve heard comments saying that’s what is wrong with America but it’s not.  America is one of the unhealthiest countries and we shouldn’t use plus size or larger sizes as standard- we need to look at the HEALTHY countries as standard because we’re just not cutting it here in this country.  Sorry for veering off the question but I do agree but it’s not chunky it’s not toned or defined and honestly, it looks like she needs a size up for her shorts because it looks like she has slight love handles.  I agree with TheSutraDude though, it does require skills it’s obvious she has but she needs to do more to tone up.

  • She not chunky, to be honest shes probably more healthier than people who are skinnier than her.

I love her shape cause im the same way!

  • @ShimmerBodyCream - People like to assume that cheerleading is only about looking good. They forget it’s a real sport and a hard one. I can say this out of experience.

  • I’ll say no.

It’s hard to say because the picture is weird – maybe she’s just “fat” in that picture?
Maybe in the other pictures she looks good?
    She’s hot.
