A group of us where talking in tinychat and we were talking about how xanga has more than its fair share of mentally ill people.
I would imagine that is because people like to express themselves and work through their insanity.
Does xanga have more than its share of insane people?

Oh boy…
Maybe. I miss tiny chats
I resemble that remark!!<:)
yes.
I know one we can do without: Lynn/ MathematicalBagpipper/ Statelesspilot@revelife/ secretbeerreporter
The others range from annoying to entertaining.
♫ They call me crazy, loooo-oo-oo-ooop ♫
if u count my multiple personalities, we’re tha majority
Nothing fuels creativity quite like crazy…
Wait… there’s people on Xanga that aren’t crazy?!
Facebook and Arizona have xanga beat for the ratio of crazy people to relatively sane people.
Like recognizes like. Wait. Who did you say you were tinychatting with?
WHO is crazy?!?
You Rang?
Wow. Wtf?
I’ve thought this a few times too. Maybe people just don’t express their crazy in other places like they do on Xanga. I have my own issues that I don’t express anywhere other than here.
I’m insane for reading your blog everyday.
Yes, that’s why this is my favorite place, like minds.
I think that the xanga community is unconnected enough to the real lives of most people here that they feel safe expressing themselves and their mental failings.
I for one however will never do such a thing. That would be unwise.
I suppose we have our share (like the rest of the world’s population).
no idea
this is a one way train ride to crazy town
What it boils down too if we do not agree with someone we can be consider different to crazy. I think all social sites have their fair shave of people whom are challenged. Bro. Doc
hahahaha
The world is insane. I’m not sure I know any sane people here or anywhere.
I think it has just the right amount.
Yes, but as long as they’re not dangerous then I think they keep things interesting.
Its not about being insane, its about the ego trip. We all look to get noticed one way or another.
upto I saw the check of $5238, I didnt believe …that…my cousin was like trully earning money part-time on-line.. there sisters roommate has done this for only about a year and resantly cleard the mortgage on their villa and bought a great Jaguar XJ. read more at, http://www.rev24.com
@Celestial_Teapot - Hahahahahaha oh, I totally agree with your first remark!
@mupasa07 - Just earned a straightjacket. Liberals get to cast the first stone.
After careful study I have determined that Xanga is one standard deviation BELOW the ratio of crazy to normal in rush hour traffic.
Nope. I’d just say the fewer crazy people get more attention.
Whereas tumblr, where you know, if you meet certain qualifications, you are no longer human.
*raises hand*
Well Xanga IS a journal blog…
being in the medical field I think we just have our fair share.
I think blogsbring out the weird tendencies in people’s minds due to the anonymity. But there’s still more weird folk on here than i know in person
LOL. This post made me laugh. I think there are more crazies on FB, though I’m not doubting there may be a few insane ones here on Xanga.
Nah, have you actually ever been on tumblr? There’s like fourteen year olds threatening suicide every 1/2 minute and feminazis are EVERYWHERE.
@Celestial_Teapot - Bahahaha It’s sad when I’m hardly ever here and definitely not part of the “popular kids” group, yet I recognize two of those and agree whole heartedly! I (blissfully) didn’t even realize bagpiper and pilot were still around, though now I have this morbid urge to search them out and see what insanity they’re up to now. … Wait…yup…moment passed! PHEW!
Since theTheologiansCafe became Xanga’s Crazy Central most of the sane people split long ago.
Of course I am the notable exception!
(my shrink says my mental illness is exceptional)
Compared to usenet? Xanga’s tame. If you want to really see looney people, I can name a few.
-netnguy
It does seem that way… but crazy people make life infinitely more interesting (said the crazy person…)
Of course. Life outside the internet, they make an effort to pass off as normal. Online, there’s no need for a filter. The same goes for racist. I’m not really a fan of normal, but it when comes to mental health, I’ll make the exception.
Yup. Nope. Shut up. No you shut up. *BOINK* ouch!
All I can think about is how that first “where” should be “were.”
Oh well.
=/
@singeddreams09 - OCD, you can’t let go of the typo. Dan’s point proven. LOL!
Well yes but they are some of Xanga’s nicest people
@FallenSafely - That sounds like Xanga’s glory days when it was the webs top social networking site
Insanity is a legal term, not a psychiatric one, so technically, the term only applies to those determined insane in court.
My opinion is that people feel more comfortable with being open about their mental illnesses on Xanga than they would in other contexts.
Only when you compare it to other time frames. But not at all compared to modern society.
@trunthepaige - those people move where they can get attention…
@FallenSafely - Exactly right now I see a mess of them on twitter of all places
We are insane because we express our issues out in type. Other people are insane because they don’t deal with their shit. I personally like xanga insane better than the other.

Since the group were xangans also, the more important question would be how many of you were insane.
Depending on that number, we’d have to question the conclusion of that group.
I think it’s just y’all, to be honest.
no kidding, I just got out of the psych ward today.
Finally, now I know why I like it here—I am a nut case.
LOL DAN
Some pictures speak a thousand words, this one just a mere dozen, but still gets it point across. [Image]
If you find a sane one let me know.
Everybody’s crazy but me and thee, and sometimes I worry about thee.
I’m not even going to comment on this one.
there are more than the fair share of mental ills about anyplace one may travel these days — be it virtually-online or in the “real” world. You seem to adjust nicely. This is more of a theo-dan post than your usual.
@dw817 - interesting image
@PrincessPowers - Sort of!
@Hunt4Truth – Thanks Mr. Hunt. As far as the statement goes tho – I’m still looking !
@TheNightBelongsToThose – How did you like it ?
@dw817 - as I review it, my statement was odd. For some reason, I thought I was at the humor-me-now blog. Old-age?
ANYWAY THOUGH….
As you keep on looking it perhaps may occur to you that you keep on adjusting too.
Maybe. But it does take all kinds…
@Hunt4Truth – Hmm … I think I’m getting too set in my ways to change much about myself and my outlook on life. I know I always find myself kicking and screaming to learn anything new even if I know it will help ultimately me in the long run.
Insanity: “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time.” — Albert Einstein.
Curiously, I have found this philosophy to be the opposite and oftentimes I do find myself repeating my actions – and yet coming up with a different outcome for each of my unique efforts.
I show my crazy on here in a way I don’t anywhere else. That’s kindof the point, yes. and I like seeing other people’s crazy, too.
