Tornado Hits Oklahoma
A tornado hit Oklahoma including an elementary school where maybe as many as 24 children were killed. I know there are some xangans in that area so they are in our thoughts.
I did find this photo interesting because a storm chaser is seen watching over a tornado.I watched so many of those storm chaser videos as a child.Would you want to see a tornado?

I’ve seen one before. I’m not too fond of the sky turning green…
I would be so fascinated and awe-struck if I ever saw a tornado.
NE Ohio, y u no haz crazy-insane weather phenomena?
NO! I had enough on my plate with last year’s hurricane and nor’easter! Thinking about everyone out west (Xangans or not)!
As it’s been said about tornadoes, “it’s the finger of God….”
yes, i would. that is sad about the kids.
I have seen one, it was the summer between seventh and eighth grade. It was exhilarating but scary as hell since we were in the car. As the tornado descended it was very skinny and curvy, almost white against the dark skies. As soon as it hit the fields though the dirt wove it’s way up to the top and it turned black. Very cool, but very scary. We drove to a local hospital and waited it out there until the storm had passed.
I’ve always been fascinated by them, and seeing one (from a great distance) is something I’ve always wanted to experience. Then again, I start freaking ut every time I hear a tornado siren…
I have and I would prefer never to see one again.
No
Not really. They are more scary than fascinating.
Seen enough twisters in the Midwest…so no thanks.
This is about 15 min from my house in Oklahoma… gonna be going up to volunteer with disaster relief soon. I’d want to see a tornado, but never one that harms any one.
As far as I heard, there are 24 children unaccounted for as of about 9 pm.
We had a tornado in my back yard once but, praise God, it only knocked down trees and blew out a single window before lifting back into the sky, passing over the house, and touched down on the other side of the farm before continuing onward.
I’ve seen green sky with funnel clouds here in Ohio, but never a full tornado.
@B2yan_C - Good luck to you.
I used to chase them when I lived on the prairie. I quit when I got hit in the head by a hailstone that was softball size.
almost did, but I was too short to see over the building. my 6’7″ saw it. the shop i worked in was crowded with tools and such, so we figured we were gonna die no matter where we were. so we went outside to watch. hit a shopping mall about a mile away.
I just read that 51 people were killed.
What a horrifying story!! Those poor people. No I never want to see one.
You know what really gets me? Assholes who crack jokes on the heels of tragedies with no reason but to offend and anger. These individuals more than trolls are cruel, heartless fucks unworthy of human dignity.
I have, and no I don’t want to see it again. Used to live in Tennessee, waiting for the next quake here in Cali. Tornadoes are scarier though, even though they come with a warning.
Good luck to those suffering.
Not really
Harper. even though Martha`s rep0rt is really great, on friday I bought a great Fiat Panda when I got my cheque for $9003 thiss month and-more than, 10k last munth. no-doubt about it, this really is the nicest-job I’ve ever had. I actually started six months/ago and pretty much straight away startad bringin in at least $85… per-hr. I use this great link, http://www.rev24.com
last wed. night I didn’t see one but I could feel the pull of it and my ears were popping from the pressure of it hovering above us. It does sound like a train coming right through your house.
After the one in Moore yesterday -I’m going to start digging today so I can get underground next time.
Maybe, but not enough that I’d run out in the middle of a storm to see it. I’ve had enough of crazy storms after the hurricanes.
Howdy stranger! I watched a couple, they are electrifying! Now that I am older and have more sense, I would have to say hell no!
The death toll has been downgraded as of now. Thankfully only 10 children were killed which is still heartbreaking. That number might change again. We all hope it doesn’t grow higher again.
I’m fascinated and intrigued when I watch them on television. Maybe if I was younger again I’d want to be a storm chaser. It’s science and gathering of data. Storm chasers also play an important role in tracking and alerting the public. Just going to see one as a tourist doesn’t do it for me though.
When I hear the sirens I always run outside too look (assuming I wasn’t outside already).
No
I have not seen one and I don’t care too. My heart goes out to all those parents of the children and other family members that were affected by the storm.
I was thinking about this yesterday, as I drove home in tornadic weather. Short answer is yes, and given the opportunity, I would be a storm chaser in an INSTANT. But I don’t really want it anywhere near my animals, home or family members. So yes, just not here.
I always thought it would be cool to see one, but not if it harmed anyone.
Yes
And I hope I would live to talk about it.
