  • Tornado Hits Oklahoma

A tornado hit Oklahoma including an elementary school where maybe as many as 24 children were killed.  I know there are some xangans in that area so they are in our thoughts.

I did find this photo interesting because a storm chaser is seen watching over a tornado.
I watched so many of those storm chaser videos as a child.
Would you want to see a tornado?

  • Smallest Penis Contest

A bar in Brooklyn, New York is going to have a “Smallest Penis Contest” on July 20th.  (A couple of xangans from New York will have to go and review it for us).

The guys participating in it “should be comfortable getting hosed down while wearing only skimpy underwear.”  Here is the link:  Link
Ladies, give the first name of the guy from your present or past who should enter the smallest penis contest?

  • Things You Should Not Find Sexually Attractive

As I am sitting here at a reception dinner the night before this wedding I am looking over at the bride and it made me think of a blog topic.

Name something or someone you found sexually attractive that you probably should not find sexually attractive.

  • Xanga, Bea Arthur Topless and EX Ratings

An artist painted a photo of Bea Arthur of the Golden Girls topless and it sold for $2 million at an auction.  (Special thanks to tendollar4ways for keeping us abreast of the situation).

I was reading an article from the The Daily Beast and they said Facebook shut them down for posting the painting.  Here is the link:  Link
This is disappointing because art is constantly being censored on social networks.  I am pretty sure I would have received an “ex” rating if I had posted the actual photo uncensored.
It shows we have lost our appreciation for art.
    Should we rate art “ex”?

  • Whites-Only Scholarship

A whites-only scholarship was set up at Columbia University.  It was originally set up in 1920.  Someone donated money but wanted the person to be white that received the scholarship.  Here is the link:  Link
When I was in the military, I was sitting next to a guy who was talking about the United Negro Fund and a scholarship associated with it.  I asked him for an application (I was going to give it to a black guy who worked with me).  The guy told me that it wasn’t for white people.
Should we have scholarships based on race?

  • Angelina Jolie Gets Double Mastectomy

Angelina Jolie revealed she had a double mastectomy.  Her mother died of breast cancer and she found out she had the “faulty” BRCA1 gene that leads to breast cancer.

Angelina said that doctors told her she decreased her risk of getting cancer from 87% to 5% by getting a double mastectomy.  Here is the link:  Link
Would you get a double mastectomy even if you never had breast cancer?

  • The Insane People Of Xanga

A group of us where talking in tinychat and we were talking about how xanga has more than its fair share of mentally ill people.

I would imagine that is because people like to express themselves and work through their insanity.
Does xanga have more than its share of insane people?

  • The Biggest Gift

Recently someone gave me a gift of $7500.  It was the biggest gift I ever received.

I didn’t need it so I am going to put it in the bank.
What is the biggest gift you have ever received?

  • My Mom Is Better Than Your Mom

I am pretty sure I had the best parents ever.  I called my mom and I told her tonight that I could not think of one thing she ever did wrong as a parent.

She spent so much time with me when I was a child.  I remember when I was sick as a child and she would get on the floor and play cars with me.  She took care of me.
I told her that I always had the feeling of being completely loved as a child.  I never once entertained the idea of my parents not loving me.  I told my mom that I grew up with a confidence that I could be a garbage man and my parents would be proud of me.
I am so sad when I hear stories of people who had parents that fell short of the mark.    I am so humbled by the sacrifices that my parents made so I could have everything.  (My parents were pretty poor in the early years but it felt like they gave me everything).
But my mom is the best mom ever.  I feel so fortunate to be her son.

  • Student Loans

I see people getting an education and spending a ton of money that they are borrowing.  Here is the link:  Link

Some people are graduating with $100,000 or more in debt only to find themselves unemployed.
Is it wise to borrow money in order to get a college education?
