Bah, I would have been first if my keyboard was working. For some reason, Dan, your site always screws it up.
Anyway, yeah, it's not pretty, but since I was a uniform-wearing Catholic for 12 years, it still ticks me off when schools try to restrict dumb things. (Like for 8 years I wasn't allowed to wear nail polish. Ooooh, the shiny polish might attract Satan!) I don't know what they're trying to do by making more and more restrictions. If you want to restrict "offensive" things that people wear, try arresting everyone who walks down the street half-naked in the summer.
I don't know what those guys are thinking... it's not cute at all! They think they're so cool with their pants practically around their ankles. Meanwhile they have to waddle around to get anywhere! (Have you seen how a person walks with pants that low? It's ridiculous!!) I think they should ban showing of any underwear at all... that goes for those hoochie mamas showing off their thongs, too.
That's a pet peeve of mine; I hate seeing baggy pants being worn around the knees, hate seeing a stranger's underwear.
I think it's fine to ban it from the classroom. A lot of schools have standards regarding student attire, and as I understand it is usually to keep students from looking very sloppy or immodest. This definitely qualifies for sloppy.
By all means, don't ban this. If they wear it that low, instead of banning the style, have someone come up from behind and pull their boxers down, too. Now THAT would stop it more quickly than a thousand laws and a death sentence.
Yes. If it were a girl it would be considered distracting and inappropriate. I also think it looks stupid. I see teenagers like that all the time and I have the urge to run up behind them and yank their pants down. It makes them walk like they have hemorrhoids. Maybe I'm just to old to be "cool" anymore, even though I thought it was stupid when they started the trend while I was in school.
