Shots: Taking it in the Arm or the Butt?
I went to the doctor today because I had a rash on my legs. I wasn't sure what caused it.
But I had to get a steroid shot and so the doctor asked me if I wanted it in the arm or in the butt. I didn't have to think. I told her I would take it in the arm. I asked her if there was any advantage in getting it in the butt and she told me, "No."
So for the rest of the day I have been wondering why they offer. Do people really pick the butt?
If you were getting a shot, would you take it in the arm or in the butt?

Well im going to say butt, since i can't feel mine. Bahaa.
I think I'd pick the butt because I heard that it hurts less. There is usually more muscle in the arm and more fat in the butt so, more cushion I guess? haha
My internet window was a bit smaller than usual, and all I read was "Taking it in the Butt" and thought maybe you were coming clean about some new lifestyle choices.

I would pick the arm. When I had the top part of my ear pierced, it got infected. They had to shoot me in the butt. I hate it. I have no idea why they do that.

It hurts a hell of a lot worse in the aftermath in the arm.
So, Dan, I'm curious...do you just have muscular arms that you can handle it in the arm, or do you just have a really small butt that makes it hurt like hell down there?

The arm, but I've had shots that were only allowed in the butt - something about it being a bigger muscle so the injection hits the body faster? I don't know, but it is NOT pleasant!!
Well, my butt area is very very sensitive, so I'd definatly take it in the arm.
I don't know. I've taken my shots both ways, and they seem equally painless. I just don't like SEEING the needles, so wherever they put it, I have to look the other way.

I've always taken shots in the arm. I don't see any reason to start dropping my pants now.
@fading_roses19 - I have to have all my shots done in my butt, Really it's more like in the top part of my butt almost my hip. My arms are too thin and so they won't even give me the option for arm shots, that's probably your problem too.
i think i would do the arm.. the only way it should be done.

well some are use to getting shots on the butt, and cause there is more fat you can't feel it as much, nor can you see it.
I think they ask it when the shot is strong, and it comes down to where you'd rather feel the soreness for the next couple of days.
hahahaha I've allways wondered this. I've only gotten mine in the butt once and that was when i got my tetnis shot at 4 years old. needles don't hurt as much nowadys, they're small, so i don't mind getting it in the arm.
