Now I think the Democrats and President Obama have a point that is worthy of our discussion.
I can imagine what a typical day is like for a stay at home mom.
She starts by sleeping in until 9:00 a.m. She gets up and pops some food in the microwave for a child or two. (This is until they go to school).
She then gets on the Internet.
She then ignores the child as she surfs xanga. I was sick today and it was fun messaging all of the stay at home moms all day.
She then microwaves dinner or puts in an oven. She probably throws the dishes in a dishwasher.
She then hands the child back over to her husband when he gets home and talks about how hard her day was.
She then relaxes back on xanga.
Do stay at home moms really work?

I'm a SAHM and I have to say working outside of the home was a lot easier than this. I do not sleep in until 9. I don't even know what it's like to sleep in anymore. I'm usually up around 6am to a crying baby. Anyone who hasn't had this experience should shut their mouths.
Actually I am a full time stay at home Army wife with a newborn child.
My son is ALL I do all day, take care of him, feed him, hold him.So really Xanga is not what I do all day.I am a commissioned artist, the mom, dad, and the home maker and bill payer.So yes, I work my tail end off.It drives me crazy to know that I can't seem to get anything done.My husband does almost everything around the house.So really, stay at home moms have a ton to deal with, especially military moms.Dan,

@sometimestheycomebackanyway - Leave it to you to unearth some dirt to throw. The Democrats have moved lockstep to deny any thing to do with the statement that being a stay at home mom is not work. The Federal government considers stay at home moms is not work and forces welfare moms to look for work.
So are you a person that wants to force single mothers to look for work? Your position has no stipidends. Are you in favor of women raising children to be potentially the best or would you take tools that they could use just because a few might not be the best mother there is?
Simple broadbase insults show simple minded unconcerned folks. Long answers shows considerations. Simple black and white answers are full of holes at time. Your net paints Democrats in a bad light, yet they courageously came out to say that Ann Rommey deserves not the title of not ever had worked in her life.
@PPhilip - Hilary Rosen, the lady who ruthlessly attacked Ann Romney works for the Democrat National Committee. If the Democrats were serious about their objections to such crass character assassination, Rosen would be ridden out of town on a rail after being fired, humiliated and black balled forever.
Instead, to protect their sorry asses from voter outrage a few Democrats offer a lame lament.
The fact of the matter is that Democrats use insults, character assassination and lies like trained killers use their favorite weapons.

@Ork58 - I can spin too, but on a side issue, do you believe in aborting a down syndrome child? Would not being able to care for that child financially have anything to do with that situation? I suppose Mr. Palin also got to help in that decision?

Democrat Edwards and Republican Cain were not the best suited to be Presidents of the United States I can only hope that false accusations would never sully good politicians. Mitt Rommey is pretty squeeky clean along with Obama. But we shall see who has better leadership skills (which women help to prop up) and may the United States be lead well.

@TheSutraDude - If a Republican said what Rosen said you'd be accusing her of a hate crime. But because the nasty vile insult was directed at Romney's wife, her comment is only "unfortunate".
Also, Rosen works for the DNC and visited the White House over 30 times this year. That's more often then the CIA director or the Secretary of Defense.
So to pass off this kind of character assassination and hate speech as some sort of innocent faux pas made by some peripheral character to is the usual Democrat bald faced lie.
Obama's campaign is going to non-stop hate, lies, insults and character assassination. You guys are going to go after Romney's wife and kids just like you went after Sarah Palin's family.

Ann Romney has to scrub floors and wash windows in four houses, a ski lodge and a beach house! She probably changes the oil regularly in both her Cadillacs. She has to scrape by and make ends meet for the family on a single-earner income. And she's still found time to bear five sons for the Romney dynasty.
But she's always there every evening to meet Mitt at the door with his slippers after a hard day at the office.

being a maid is considered a job. being a cook is considered a job. hell, even being a nanny is considered a job. so i'd say that yes, stay at home moms do work. from sun up to sun down. my husband helps when he comes home but he certainly doesn't do it alone.
i've had people say i just sit on facebook all day but i don't. i leave my chat on on my phone and notifications go to my phone and i always keep my phone on me. so i guess it does appear that i'm online all day but that's ok. people are allowed to think what they want :)
