Contractions
Shimmerbodycream told me that when I text I never use contractions.
Do you use text speech when you text?

I don't text.
I use LOL... that's about it. But I type everything else out properly.
No. It really doesn't save that much time. If I spell something incorrectly, I do it on purpose and to be silly. I never use "u" or "ur", either.
For the most part, I type things all out. Besides a few things like "coz (because)" and "n (and)." The grammar Nazi in me gets bothered by it if I don't, but it does make a few exceptions. lol :P
Btw - When I saw your title, for some odd reason I thought this was going to be a poll regarding a woman's contractions felt during childbirth. haha
In the age of unlimited texts and predictive text I don't see the point n text contractions... other than 'lol'

@Lithium98 - That makes the Justin Bieber poster on your wall very creepy.
I usually type it out except things like LOL. I'm a mad fast typist though so it doesn't take me much longer.
When I text, I text as if I were writing an essay. I use correct punctuation and spelling and I nearly never use stupid LOL's OMG's or anything like that. I am not illiterate. And I get tired of those who are.
I hope you and Shimmer are having fun at the meet-up. Jealous!!
I use lol...but that's about it. Sometimes I'll use omg, wtf, and nvm, but its usually only if i'm not paying attention and trying to send off a text reallllly fast.
I try and use the best text speech as I could.
who wants to find out?
Half and half I'd say. I don't use "u/ur/noe" and things like that because it really doesn't make a difference in terms of efficiency. But I still use "lol, wtf, w/e, etc."
Yes, I do. It's such a bad habit, I sometimes misspell things now, like txt rather than text, or ppl rather than people. But I'm cool like dat.
I do not!
btw, lol, and lmao are about the only substitutes I'll use. Add to that the occasional :p or ;) and that's the limit of my "text-speak." Seriously, it doesn't take that long to type out the full words. U no wut I meen?
I got my first real textable phone last Christmas. I have since found out that one of my pet peeves is when people type in text speak instead of using full words or things like commas and periods.
I have been told that I never use contractions, anytime.
No. I type everything out unless it's "lol" or "lmao" or something along those lines. I find it annoying when others text me with terrible grammar.
I try not to text speech when I text, but sometimes it just happens...it's a bit degrading to grammar/spelling/language skill
