  • i say first availiable because i dont mind if people smoke around me. most theplaces i go have smoking but only one or two smoke in them so it isnt a big deal.

  • As it is private property, it is not my decision to make.  However, I can chose whether I go to a place that allows smoking, or I go to one that doesn’t.

    It is not the governments place to decide that for private businesses.  If you are concerned about your health due to second hand smoke, then go to a non smoking establishment.

  • NON NON NON NON NON smoking!! Being in laughlin this past week I was nasuated when we walked into ANY nice restaruant and it bled of cigarette smoke.. horrible. I am thee worst ex smoker there ever was and I am ashamed that I exposed my daughter to such filth..now I protect her as much as possible..thank god for non smoking laws in california

  • Wow, I don’t smoke, but I like being around people that do haha. I don’t know why. None of my immediate family smokes, but some of my friends do and I always try to breathe in as much as I can.

  • smoking…always, but just because i smoke…i love living where i am at just because smoking is allowed…they tried to ban it here, but  all of the bars in the area decided to sue the local govt for invading on their personal choice…and, for all you non-smokers….if you don’t like being in a place that has smoking, find another place, instead of bitching about going to an establishment that allows smoking…no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to be there…..

  • The owner of an establishment should be allowed to decide on their own smoking policy… customers can choose whose restaurant to patronise. Why should we need some uppity legislators to curtail our choices and dictate rules?

    Lets all live life unselfishly, there has got to be a smoking and non smoking section, since we are slowly conditioned to be such demanding human beings. We’re enlightened in the wrong light.

  • Non-smoking, but here in Indianapolis, all restaurants are smoke-free. It’s really nice if you have asthma and other chronic lung conditions.

  • If there is a smoking section, then it needs to be completely separate from the non-smoking section, be walled off, and have its own ventilation system. Most smokers don’t understand what it’s like to live with asthma and chronic bronchitis. There was a huge debate here when the city-county council passed the ban, and essentially the whole argument was the smoker’s right to smoke trumped everyone else’s right to breathe. The smokers said that non-smokers should just stop going to restaurants completely. The thing is, is it SUCH a huge deal to wait until AFTER dinner to go OUTSIDE and smoke? You have a home and a car and the whole outside, yet you selfishly choose to subject the rest of us to a unhealthy lifestyle that we did not choose. Yes, it was a very interesting time here in Indianapolis… but now, you have to walk through clouds of smoke to get into the restaurant.

  • Huh?  There is no smoking allowed in ANY restaurants or any indoor public places here on Long Island, and there hasn’t been for years.  You can’t even smoke in a “bar” environment here in NY.

    You CAN get a virus from reading a xanga, because it happened to ME yesterday and you (spammer) are probobly the responsible party for the worm, and then the trojan that kept trying to infect me.  To bad so sad that it didn’t work–thank you McAfee!

If a client would prefer to eat/bowl/drink without smoke, they are perfectly free to patronize a non-smoking business. They do not, however, have the right to demand that the owner ban smoking in his own establishment.
