I believe the Jews are. Not just the people that live in that land, but all the Jews all over the world. He said so himself…
Israel, biblicly speaking is God’s chosen people… However people limit the definition to the Jews or the State.
In the book of Ephisians it talks about Gentile inclusion in Israel.
In acts peter has a vison about the inclusion of the Gentiles in Israel
At Mt. Sanai (sp) There was a mixed multitude that recieved all the commands concerning what is holy and un holy, all agreed to walk in those statutes… Not just the Jews.
Gen. 12:1-3 <– I believe that’s why America has been as blessed as it is.
I also think that God’s all about the adoption process.
I believe the children of Israel, that is, the Jews are God’s chosen people but that He has also added the gnetiles (non-jews) to His promise.
Shalom!
They all need to learn to get along.
No idea………Don’t watch Tv so lol whats going on ^.^
xX-Nicole-Xx
maybe, but i believe God loves all of us the same
The only ones? No.
I don’t think the “nation” of Israel is God’s chosen people. But rather those that follow the commandments of God.
Absolutely.
Lol so many Christians will get offended by this…. they like to think they’re the chosen people now. They’ve forgotten that Christianity was originally a Jewish sect and that Jesus came to fulfill Jewish law. Even the New Testament verses are always saying things like “first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.” I really don’t consider myself a Christian anymore, I am just stating the facts according to it. The Christians whole “New Testament church” thing was what started pushing me away in the first place.
s-s-sike.
no. the current nation of isreal has nothing to do with the so called “chosen people factor”. the stupid fundamentalist in america only support isreal because they want to usher in the end of the world. dumb dumb dumb. if something bad happens to isreal and the end times dont get ushered in, i wonder what pat robertson will say
No.
yes….and no.
the Biblical nation of Israel as in the descendants of Abraham… Yes.
the current political entity… no. But using that name was a cunning choice, makes us think they are God’s chosen people.
Yes, God is not done with Israel yet, they are still His people and one day will turn to Him as a nation. The facts have been written just not played out yet.
Let’s ask GOD ^^
The term”God’s Chosen People” is one of realitivity… If you are Jewish, then Yes it is… If you are not, then it is not… The Christian Bible says they are… Yet Christianity in and of itself preaches that they are not…. It is annoying… People Need to just learn to accept others… No one, not even two memebers of the same church have the same beliefs… Beliefs are embeded in Morals and Experiences…. Which differ from person to person… So in order to “Occam’s Razor” myself In the perception of the Jews yes… Of everyone else, no
Yes, chosen in the sense as Abraham’s descendants to represent Him to the rest of the world and to bring forth a Messiah for all people.
They say that Israel is his chosen people but I believe he loves us all.
Hm…
Is it coincidence that you posted this on a Sunday, when most religious people are at churce?
Or is it just your way of asking non-religious people?
yes, he said it was and always would be so that’s how it is, and its not just the phyisical country but the people that come from Isreal. i dont know, im not god but that is my best guess. luv ya and god bless
lol
perhaps the question of “what does it mean to be god’s chosen people” would be a more significant question. we are taught that there is no jew nor greek, nor male nor female, etc… if then, we are under christ, we are all chosen… so what does that mean?
way to open up a HUGE can of worms (like you do best!). i used to think so…and i know it says that in the Bible. But then where do the other people that God’s set apart as his come in to that equation. i mean does that mean that they are guarenteed salvation and stuff. i’m not sure. and in Revelation doesn’t it say that one day we’ll all gather in Israel or something. i think its interesting that people always want peace in the middle east and because of cultures it is impossible and will never happen, and the only thing that will change that is the end of the world. which could come at any moment if they decide to get nuclear about it. but yeah. i’m not sure that answered your questions. as far as holy land and set apart, i believe that Muslim’s believe that to be true of Isreal as well. so thus the conundrum.
With the death and resurrection of Christ let’s it be so that all people are able to be God’s chosen people reguardless of their nationality or anything else for that matter. the only condition that God absolutely requires of us to be His is to believe that Jesus is our savior.
more so than anyone else? i don’t know…
Yes, there are two thing God can not do – he can not lie and he can not die.
He promised that Israel was the chosen land/people – He isn’t wrong.
Yes, that much is fairly clear in the Bible. THey were, they are, and they will always be the chosen people of God.
Interesting that on Sunday morning you seem to get less comments. I guess the majority of your readers are religious or at least church-goers.
Not anymore. Have we forgotten they crucified his Son? or do we choose just to read the Old Testament?
no. They lost that distinction around the time they crucified Christ. Now all of us who believe can be part of “spiritual” Israel.
If God loved them so much he’d let them eat cheeseburgers.
JK though. I agree with Splatballdan even though he smells like rotting fish.
They are definitely his homies. As far as “chosen”…don’t know, I sure as hell am not, so maybe.
No. God doesn’t play favorites.
Tricky subject. I think that God has worked through the nation of Israel in a marvelous way. But as a nation-state today I do not look at them as a theocracy or under the special blessing of God.
Yes.
I am a Christian, and I still believe that Jews and Israel are God’s chosen people.
I’d be pissed if that was the case. I mean, what about the rest of us then?!
’nuff said…
No…
I think its more of NATO’s chosen people
but thats cool too
Someone wrote that it’s all relative. I disagree the Bible clearly states that the Jewish people are God’s chosen people and yes, that is what the Christian Bible teaches.
Chosen to annoy the rest of the civilized world? Yes. GOD? ha ha ha!
Yes, the nation of Israel is his chosen. Nation meaning the Jews. But we do know that only 144,000 Jews will be part of the the sealed.
ummmmm
Yes, they are; but that does not mean that he does not love all of us.
Yes the Jews are gods chosen people. But chosen for what? The Jews themselves believe they were chosen for an extra responsibility. It’s not a higher position but a burden. As to the nation of Israel, it is their homeland
yes
Not the nation of Israel…no.
We all believe in different things. For them, it could be. But I don’t believe in it just being a country, but a people for them, maybe. In my “religion” god loves all. It is just what they believe and what we believe.
The Bible says so.
Only the remnant. Romans 9:6-8 – “For they ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL, which ARE OF ISRAEL. Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they the children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD.”
If you do a study of the word remnant, you will see that God only chooses and saves a remnant of the Jews. I did a post on this on July 13, 2005, called “Who is Israel”.
YES!!!
One promise, one people. Not nessecarily a genetic race, however. Abraham was the father of the faith, and so I guess his true descendants would be a people of faith as well.
Yes.
Supersecessionism would say the Jews no longer are God’s chosen because they didn’t accept Jesus. Thus, the Christians are now God’s chosen people and “own” all the religious stuff in the Old Testament. This school of thought was represented in Sam Bourne’s “Righteous Men” thriller recently.
Honestly, I believe that the God’s chosen people concept is a throwback to the pre-Judaic times. I’ll spare you the explanation of polytheism, but that characteristic of each people having their own defending god was very present. In fact, that’s what most likely led the Jews TO monotheism during the Diaspora. Either way, God’s chosen is old-hat thinking that has permeated Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to a heavy degree.
maybe. it’s what this little jewish girl has been told all her life.
the nation of isreal today has little to do with the promises to isreal of the bible. isreal today is a state of jews that were put there because the rest of the world felt bad about the holocaust. so they got to get land that no longer belonged to them. palestinians and the lebanese have just as much rights in the middle east as isreal does, and i think the US stance towards it all is really dumb
I doubt anyone is.
i believe God has and is using them to fulfill his plans for our world in the past and future. and yes, they are special and chosen. He had to chose a people to whom he could prohpesy the good news of a coming Saviour. so when the Saviour (Jesus Christ) came, we would know how to identify Him. Isreal also serves as a lineage to Christ. Isreal is also critical in fulfilling further prophesies of the worlds future. read Revelations in the Bible. all very interesting and exciting for those that chose to follow Jesus Christ!
bwah. ha. ha. no it’s a nation of guilt, persuation, manipulation, and repeated international violations. but despite my obvious biases, i suggest that people who want a complete, UNBIASED account of the history of israel, pick up avi shlaim’s “the iron wall: israel and the arab world.” seriopsuly the dude is all about just telling it like it is/was. it’s a pretty f’ed up story….
I believe Israel’s history speaks for itself.
According to the Bible, yes.
In all other religion and mysthicisms, no.
That is what the Bible says…. doesn’t it?
Ah, the old ‘spiritual jew’ vs. ‘physical jew’ argument!
I don’t think there is one chosen people…I don’t think God plays favorites with humanity.
YES it is and ya better not mess with it!!
YES SIR!
Esther**
Go read Romans 9, it would appear that the promise to the nation of Israel has now been changed and is to the Gentiles. And the other reason I would say that the Promise of God to the chosen people is now to the Christian church is for the specific reason that the promise to Abraham was that his descendents would be as many as the stars, TO NUMEROUS TO COUNT. But we have always had a very clear count of Jews in the world, so where else could this promise extend? Christianity on the other hand does not have any kind of specific number because they simply cannot. Their roughest estimate is 2 billion people out of the world’s almost six, but we have no idea, to numerous to count, Christianity has inherited the promise of Abraham. Some parts of the promise still remain, because the Word of God does not change. But in the end, the promise to Israel has become the promise of Christianity as time went forward. The church is now the descendents of Abraham, and of course they would be. For Israel denied God the Messiah that he sent the world, they ignored the final chapter of the completion of their promise, they refused to accept it themselves. And thus no longer recieve it. -Josh
Not anymore.
I’m chinese. China is God’s chosen people. And I have about 1 billion people who would would agree.
I believe that the nation of Israel WAS God’s Chosen people, that was until the chinese started mass reproducing. For people to say Israel is the nation of God’s chosen people is like one black guy in the middle of 200 hundred white people and yelling “But I’m Special!”
Yes. But that doesn’t give them the right to bomb other countries.
no….everyone id one of gods chosen people. you wouldnt be here if he hadnt chosen you.
<3 whit
that’d be a yes… read Romans… “7
Dear Rub_A_Rob, since when has God ever gone with the majority? Simply because there are more Chinese People than there are Jews changes nothing, the People of God do not require a majority rule in order to be them, and only because there are more Chinese people on the planet than Jews does not even make Chinese people more powerful than the Jews. And one black guy in the middle of two hundred white people is special, because he is the only white guy in the area. -Josh
Oooohhhh you don’t shy away from the tough questions, eh?
I don’t think so, honestly (and I’m Jewish!) I don’t think there’s one “chosen people” out there.
ryc: yes I did get your email and wrote back – but I’m not home until later today, so i can’t do anything about the pic for now… sorry about that.
I dont believe Israel in Biblical terms is defined as the country but as all Christians,so yes in that case they are.
Please Check Me Out!!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I’m like Dan here at TheTheologiansCafe but I talk about current events and issues(most of the time lol)!!!
[approved by Dan ]
according to themselves yes…
Yes they are, both in Bible times and today. However, Christians are chosen by God as well. Through Christ, the special blessings extended to the Jews are given to all people, if they choose to accept the blessings.
I am holding a contest for the best story. To learn more keep reading.
You will write your wonderful story and email it to me, I will post the best on my site and with any luck a publisher might see it.
Send it with your name so everyone will know who wrote it.
not any longer the new convenant has abolished the old, previous to jesus and the new covenant yes, now no
if they are then that makes God an asshole
No.
Oh ~ and by the way, ryc: LOL, I don’t think that you have it in you to be a stallker!!!! ~J
NOPE THAT IS BULLSHIT, WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO??????
I’m not Christian, but the god I believe in wouldn’t send his chosen people to commit violence in his name.
that’s what the bible says, I have a history teacher that pointed out that Israel is a nation that has been constantly attacked….he thinks it is because it is true- the nation of Israel is God’s chosen people.
Heh. Some interesting answers.
Yes, don’t you recall? In AD 1948 God came down from the Heavens and created Israel.
Um…jk.
Oh! Happy Anniversary!
almost forgot
Do YOU think they are?
Even when some prominent ones don’t quite act like it, yes.
yes
yes
but He also gives us who aren’t His free Salvation if we accept it
hell no.
A big, fat NO!
If the Jews are God’s Chosen people, God has a bad way of showing favoritism.
No.
God does not choose people, People choose God, and only after He has been Chosen does he apply to anyone. If you beleive in God, no matter in what way, you are his chosen people b/c you then become the modern “Israelis”. The isralie in biblical terms were the only people who belived in God at the time so it does not apply to jews only but to his beleivers.
Yes
if you define the nation of isreal as the decendants of Abraham (Peace be upon him) then yes, BUT that would include jews, christians, and muslims. I think the mondern “Isreal” (the political state) is using this to sway more nations to ally with them and if the politcal state isreal were to be the favorite of god, then my whole entire life i have been believing and praying to something that is not just.
see my site for a sort of similar topic please.
No nation is God’s chosen. The Jewish people, however, are clearly seen in the Bible as God’s chosen people.
Jesus was lyk so american.
so the USA is lyk gods chosen nation.
i mean DUH
Don’t make me laugh.
Yes.
i am the chosen nation.
Yes, in the sense that God chose for Jesus to be born out of the nation of Isreal. Although theologically, I believe that Christian are the ‘new Isreal.’. .the people of God.
. . .Also, not only was Christ born a Jew, but Christianity itself grew out of Judiasm. So yes, in a very real sense, Isreal was God’s chosen nation. I believe that Christ is the fulfillment of all of the Old Testament. And all those guys (Abraham, Moses, David) were Isrealites. I also believe that God is still the same God who declared Abraham righteous, by faith.
Isreal is a country, not a holy land. They are as chosen as Americans are
the religious Jews are God’s chosen people, yes. as far as the inhabitants, as a whole, of the nation of Israel, no, since modern Israel is a human, political state, with Palestinians, and ex-pats from many nations living there.
i believe there is an underlying question, though, about Israel’s right to defend herself, and just as is the case with any modern state, she has that right. she is surrounded by other nations and peoples sworn to see Israel destroyed, and so a little paranoia is definitely a correct and healthy response – just because you are paranoid doesn’t meant that people aren’t out to get you.
and i suppose i should add that we are all Jews through Christ Jesus, whose salvific act has grafted all of us onto the vine of the Jews.
I’m with p8indme, I believe the Jews are, world wide. But I do believe that He loves us all the same.
I’m a Christian, for the record.
There is no god, but if there were, Israel would be the place.
There’s a quote in Jon Stewart’s history book: “Jews are chosen by God as his chosen people. Nothing bad ever happens to them again.”
If they are God’s chosen people, then I don’t want to be chosen by God. He certainly hasn’t treated them very nicely.
Yes.
Yes. How else could you explain such a small nation surviving for over 60 years now when it is surrounded by people who hate it. I think the best thing this nation has done since WWII is help institute this nation for the Jews of the world.
That and He chose to reveal Himself to us through the Hebrew nation.
Jesus was born of Jewish parents true; but he came here for all to hear his word. In the bible it speaks of the fact that he had to visit other nations; and he even ate with gentiles and went into their homes; the leaders did not like it at the time and wanted him punished. Israel and surrounding countries have been at war for a long time, Go to the old testament and it will speak of many wars there with Israel and it’s surrounding countries. It is spoken of unrest when speaking of the times of end which are near. Nation of Israel and the state of Israel are two different things
Don’t start with Irael. It’s like they just keep picking fights for the heck of it with other countries because they know the U.S. is gonna back them up -.-
and who da hell is this god?
Yes.
Yes, because of God’s covenant with Abraham. But it doesn’t mean that the Jews can do anything they want, or that they are superior to other people. It’s really not that complicated. With greater privilege comes greater responsibility.
NO.
You mean that God could be racist?
Thats like asking if the rich mans braty children are worthy of his money. Any group of people that would live with such hate for their fellow man can’t possibly be chosen by any God I know. We all are what we feel and project out to others. You can make your own heaven……….or not.
Funny that you posted this because this was brought up in Church today. They said we better stay out of there. I thought to myself “If God was gonna get mad over Jews dying, it seems he would’ve been a wee bit mad during the Holocaust.”
The spiritual descendants of Abraham are the chosen people, not necessarily the physical descendants of Abraham. (Galatians 3:28-29 is one of many examples)
Yes, Indeed, the news about the Middle East and Israel is most captivating. Especially because Megiddo is part of Israel.
And also think about what is going on in Iraq.
The Euphrates River is located in that area . And then we have The ancient battleground of “Megiddo” – in Israel. Both are mentioned in Revelation as part of prophecy.
Makes one wonder if these two Military Hot Spots have anything to do with this Bible Verse.
“The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east. And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs; for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty. And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon.” (Revelation 16:12-14,16)(NASB)-BibleGateway
”Armageddon, mentioned in the Bible in Revelation. The place where, at the end of world history, the kings of the earth under demonic leadership, battle against the forces of God.” -The Encyclopedia Britannica; 1968 edition Volume 2, pg 417
“Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.” (Revelation 16:16)(NIV)-BibleGateway
A LITTLE BACKGROUND ABOUT “ARMAGEDDON”
ANCIENT MEGIDDO
Megiddo is the only site in Israel mentioned by every great power in the ancient Near East and appears in the New Testament as Armageddon; location of the millennial battle between the forces of good and evil…
“The Apocalypse – Judgment Day. The End of Times - Armageddon. Students of the Bible know it as the place where the cataclysmic battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil will unfold. Many believe that this battle will take place in the very near future, but few know that Armageddon is a real place- one that has seen more fighting and bloodshed than any other spot on earth.” - Eric H. Cline; Assistant Professor of Archaeology and Ancient History Dept. of Classical and Semitic Languages The George Washington University
” ‘Armageddon’ is a translation of the Hebrew ‘Har Megiddo’and means literally “the mount of Megiddo.” During the past 4000 years, at least 34 bloody conflicts have already been fought at the ancient site of Megiddo and adjacent areas of the Jezreel Valley.” - Eric H. Cline; Assistant Professor of Archaeology and Ancient History Dept. of Classical and Semitic Languages The George Washington University
”Armageddon, mentioned in the Bible in Revelation. The place where, at the end of world history, the kings of the earth under demonic leadership, battle against the forces of God.” -The Encyclopedia Britannica; 1968 edition Volume 2, pg 417
“““`
They keep successfully defending themselves from all enemies for over thousands of years. Coincidence? Nah.
no…the Jews are God’s chosen people but that doesn’t mean that no one else can be a Christian and believe in God and go to Heaven if the believe. John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world (EVERYONE) that he gave his one and only son that who so ever (ANYONE) believes in him will NOT perish but have everlasting life (it just keeps going and going and going and going (like the energizer bunny).’
No, Isreal was declared an independent country illegally. The land, as far is I’m concerned is still Palestine…Just because the Jews were kicked around doesnt mean they had the right to steal a whole country. They Jews may be the chosen ones but Isreal is not the chosen land.
chosen for what? Humanity is in this together, and if there is a God and He created us and set us upon this Earth, we are all his people and if one group is chosen, who is God but the captain of some holy dodge ball game, and the rest of us are rejects? we’re in this together and we figure this out together, God is just there to see if we can.
I don’t believe that there is a god.
I got some issues here. First, the “nation” of Israel now is totally different than the biblical one. I think the current political entity is NOT in any way chosen by God. And about the biblical one, I think they weren’t chosen, but could be more appropriately labled “rewarded”, since right now my understanding is that they were blessed more (and thus had more burdens on them) by God because of the good deeds of their ancestors.
Oh, and some evidence to support my current view Job was NOT an israelite.
Why the fuck would god single out jewish people to be his favourite?
I always found it embarassing in my 6th grade class when we were studying the ancient Middle East and we read that Jews are said to be God’s chosen people. All eyes turned toward me (the Jew kid). Not all eyes, but some. I used to want to go to Israel (which I never thought was promised to me but was certainly the land of my ancestors) but after the violence erupted I began to see how sickening it is to see people fighting over it and it changed from my favorite land of my ancestors to my favorite “hell hole”.
were all equal in Gods eyes.
Somewhere over there, the Jewish are God’s chosen people. But I don’t think he plays favorites.
according to the bible, god loves everybody, so how can there be a “chosen people”
> devilishang3lic hit it on the head…. They all need to get off their superiority’s and get along. Most of this is based on old jealousies and bias. Big thing I couldn’t believe the Hezbollah announcement, “I can’t believe they went this far over 2 soldiers”, or words to that effect. Who put that knudnick in charge?
Peace
God says so in the Bible, and the Church teaches it, so it must be so. However, I never really got the Chosen People thing. Sometimes I wonder if that is used to justify some bad behavior. But then, so many things in religion are.
The Bible says it is.
Yes.
god will strength you through all things through him which you need to do like the war that started on 9/11 my birthday!!!!!!!!!
The Jewish People are His Chosen People. He won’t forget them, even if they didn’t accept His Son.
yes
I do believe that Israel is God’s chosen people.
No. Israel the Nation and Israel the People are two different groups. That is why one is collectively called the Israelies and the other is called the Israelites. Depending on how theologically in-depth you choose to get, we could say that the Israelites as a literal nation ceased to exist with the fall of Israel by the Assyrians (I think), and the fall of Judah by Babylonian conquest. Then, as mentioned in the New Testament, Christians, being formally Jew and Gentile alike, were grafted onto the vine that we call Israel while those who did not believe were cut off. Thus, you end up with no nation of Israel, but with a people we call Christians that one could accurately, if rarely, say is Israel the People or the Israelites.
Israel was God’s chosen people, but the Gentiles have been included. Under the Old Covenant only the Jews were God’s people, but with the death of Christ and the advent of the New Covenant, Jew/Gentile, Slave/Free, Male/Female have all been included in the Body, in the Family of God.
As for Regina ab Cantus, the term is not one of relativity, people only confuse the issue. Just because people percieve something differently does not make it relative. There is still truth. Just because the people who seem like they should know the truth don’t always, doesn’t make it any less definite.
the jewish people are Gods chosen persons, However the system is not. The Israel state is in it self evil with world domination in mind.
If it is, I would hate to be the people God hated…
But for real, I don’t think so. I think at one point they were, but then Jesus came and everything changed. Just my two cents.
No, God is not a respector of persons.
I always said “The Jews have it made”
I think all Christians should convert to it and dump christianity. The base religion of christianity was to worship Jesus Christ, a jew, and what have you.
I always considered myself more Spiritual then religious. If I did go with a religion I’d be Wiccan or Neo-Pagan, (Please look up the true definition before you rambble on about the definition that the tv gave it) “If you throw your bible outside the wind and the rain would make it fade and rumble it up till it was just a wad of nothing. For Wiccan’s our bible is the wind and rain.”
and to toolman1_4 Isreal isn’t after world domination they’ve been fighting religious wars since the begining of time. And I assure you they always will be.
I believe in order to stop these wars we’d all have to realise that we’re all God, and God is all of us, it doesn’t matter what you believe. We’re all one.
but hey, what are the fucking odds?
“He that toucheth Israel toucheth the apple of my eye.”
Yes. And I believe if we dont stand beside them we’re all gonna be in a pile of shit we don’t have the boots for.
Read the Bible and you’ll find out.
ummm….i wouldnt know….i didnt read the bible…nor do i believe in a greater power…and as for the end of the world….god wont cause that….we will….
what a great site.
Yeshua Hamessiah was and is for Israel what Israel couldn’t be herself.
Yes, as are true Christians.
sorry ppl but i just found random ppl to give this to so…………..
here just do it Body: most people aren’t sure of what they realy want in life. I received this letter from a friend on the computer, did what it told me to, and within a week, everything I had wished came true!! Here’s an exact copy, this really works!!!! ************************************************************* 1. To yourself, say the name of the only guy or girl you wanna be with 3 times! ************************************************************* 2. Think of something you wanna accomplish within the next week and say it to your self 6 times!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3. If you had 1 wish what would it be? say it to yourself 9 times!!! ———————————————————————– 4. Think of something that you want to happen between you and that 1special person and say it to your self 12 times!!! ——————————————————————– 5. Now, heres the hard part! Pick only 1 of these wishes and as you scroll down focus and concentrate on it and think on nothing else but that wish. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Now make one last &final wish about that one wish that you picked. After reading this, you have 1 hour to send it out to 15 people, and what you wished for will come true within in one week! u only get one chance!!!!! Now scroll down and think of your crush!!! Keep going down Keep going Keep going !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you think of your crush? I hope so, that was your last chance. Now pay very close attention this important message! Sorry but once read, must be sent. Yes, this is one of those kinda chain letters that everyone hates. This one has been going since 1863 and if you break this chain, you will pay!!!!!! Remember that after hearing these stories. First Example: Take Barbra Wallace.. She was a pretty lucky girl, up till she got this same chain letter. She had a crush on the same kid since kindergarden. when she got this mail she didn’t pay any attention to it. She just thought, no big deal. And deleted it. The next day her dad got fired and her mom dies in a car crash. If she would have sent the letter none of that would have happened and her mom would be alive. Second Example: Try Freddie D. Now Freddie D. was your average nerd. Had glasses, was short and chubby, was in gifted. All the signs of your total dork. He also received this letter and sent it to 51 people in the hour. Now, like Barbra, he had a crush on a girl since 3rd grade. The next day after sending the chain the girl confessed her love for him ever since 3rd grade. Freddie D. finally had the courage to ask her out, and of course, she had been waiting to yes to that for years. They grew up and married each other to live happily forever. Third Example: Now if you couldn’t relate to the others, this’ll get ya hooked. Listen to this. A kid named Jordan Johnson was just getting on AOL to check his mail. He was a quiet kid, not that popular but not a geek either. he was just normal. He saw he had mail from his friend. It was this exact letter. Now Jordan Johnsen was a smart kid and he knew what could happen if he didnt pass it on. He simply pulled a few friends from his buddy list and sent it along. The next day, about that same time, he got a phone call. It said he had won the lottery! then his dad came home and bought him a new bike! His mom bought him Nintendo64 and play station! His grandmother sent him a new computer, and his best friend gave him tickets to the concert he wanted to go to, Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit! Then he inherited a brand-new tv from his aunt! Don’t blow it, it’s ur chance to shine! Have everything u wanted, and more! Now, complaining cus u dont have any friends. Well theres an answer 4 everything. It’s simple, just go in a chat room, pick some names and send away! but here’s the catch…..you only have one hour to send it after being read. Please pass this to everyone you kno
That your question was asked in seriousness was funny.
However, the situation itself is sad. Millions of people have died on all sides (historically and perpetually) believe that that land was *their* holy land, which they were entitled to and for which they’ve had to fight. Others who perished were just innocent victims in the area.
If the Jews succeed in their genocide and eradicate all Muslims, does that *mean* (ah, meaning, an all-too-human invention) that they truly are destined by God for that land? Or if the Muslims murder all Jews, does that mean that *they* actually had the one true religion, and God favored *them*?
God was invented to give meaning to the mysteries of our universe that science is now, gradually, beginning to unravel. God gave Meaning to all of the abstract functions of nature & life that our primitive brains couldn’t comprehend.
But in my opinion, needing to give meaning to something is no excuse for the murder of innocents. In any situation.
No, I don’t think God would choose the most evil country on the face of the planet to be His chosen.
Propeganda, hate crimes, murder, warmongering…hiding behind the biggest, (and, apperently the most easily manipulated), country in the world.
Attacking, then blaming the counterattack as an act of war and proceeding to bombard their capital, without any regard for civilians, women, children.
Definetly not God’s chosen.
God’s chosen are spread throughout the world.
Not to mention the fact, that, if you happen to believe in the New Testament, you must, then, include all people who believe that Jesus died on the Cross (Namely, Christians), to forgive us our sins, that all of those people are his chosen. Paul says this in already stated passages.
The Isrealites were a group of people, descendants of Abraham, Issac, Joseph and his brothers, and so on and so forth. These are historical revealings by the way. Not just from the “BibleTorahOld testament.” Abraham was promised a whole bunch of land, and a whole friggin bunch of descendant “Who number greater than you can count the stars.” Anyway, to make a VERY long story short, Abraham got both of these things. Judges and Kings came and went, and each time, Isreal woud fall away from God and kill their babies on alters and build asherah poles and worship the God of wood, stone, bronze, iron, and so on. And each time, God would send a Judge to straight them out. After a while, God got tired of this and let the Babylonians and Assyrians take over Judah (descendants of 2 of Joseph’s brothers) and Isreal (the other 10 brothers’ descendants). The Temple at Jeruselum, which King Solomon (wise rich dude) built, was destroyed and the Babylonians took most of the remaining Isrealites, now called Jews as well as Isrealites, into captivity. It was in this time, God begins to turn his back on the Isrealites. They simply will not follow his commands, whatever he does to make them to. So he goes to plan B. Or rather the plan he knew would be put into effect all along.
Here is where modern Judiasm begins. Prophets came and told the Jews that a great King (Messiah) was going to come and “free” the Jews from the oppresive rule of the Babylonians. Who then, in turn, were captured by the Romans.
So here we have Romans oppressing Jews. Jews want a Messiah to come and free them; they are having rebellions just about every couple years, waiting for a “Savior.” They got one. Just not one they were expecting.
So there you have it. Jews=not the only chosen anymore. The promise of Eternity is now open to anyone who wants it.

No.
I don`t think God plays favorites.
Yep! He honors His promises.

Israel is the bad guys now. sadly
Happy anniversary.:)
The term”God’s Chosen People” is one of realitivity…
If you are Jewish, then Yes it is…
If you are not, then it is not…
The Christian Bible says they are…
Yet Christianity in and of itself preaches that they are not….
It is annoying…
People Need to just learn to accept others…
No one, not even two memebers of the same church have the same beliefs…
Beliefs are embeded in Morals and Experiences….
Which differ from person to person…
So in order to “Occam’s Razor” myself
In the perception of the Jews yes…
Of everyone else, no
Yes, chosen in the sense as Abraham’s descendants to represent Him to the rest of the world and to bring forth a Messiah for all people.
God chose the nation of Israel to be the people through whom Jesus Christ would be born but we, the church are grafted in as His chosen people also.
way to open up a HUGE can of worms (like you do best!). i used to think so…and i know it says that in the Bible.

<3 whit
that’d be a yes… read Romans…
“7
Dear Rub_A_Rob,
since when has God ever gone with the majority?
I dont believe Israel in Biblical terms is defined as the country but as all Christians,so yes in that case they are.

according to themselves yes…
Yes they are, both in Bible times and today. However, Christians are chosen by God as well. Through Christ, the special blessings extended to the Jews are given to all people, if they choose to accept the blessings.
I am holding a contest for the best story. To learn more keep reading.
You will write your wonderful story and email it to me, I will post the best on my site and with any luck a publisher might see it.

Jews…and eh…I guess idk…have to think about it…
not any longer the new convenant has abolished the old, previous to jesus and the new covenant yes, now no
if they are then that makes God an asshole
Yes, Indeed, the news about the Middle East and Israel
is most captivating. Especially because Megiddo is part
of Israel.
And also think about what is going on in Iraq.
The Euphrates River is located in that area .
And then we have The ancient battleground
of “Megiddo” – in Israel. Both are mentioned
in Revelation as part of prophecy.
Makes one wonder if these two Military Hot Spots
have anything to do with this Bible Verse.
“The sixth angel poured out his bowl
on the great river, the Euphrates;
and its water was dried up, so that
the way would be prepared for the kings
from the east. And I saw coming out of
the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth
of the beast and out of the mouth of the
false prophet, three unclean spirits
like frogs; for they are spirits of demons,
performing signs, which go out to the kings
of the whole world, to gather them together
for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.
And they gathered them together to the place
which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon.”

A LITTLE BACKGROUND ABOUT “ARMAGEDDON”
ANCIENT MEGIDDO
Megiddo is the only site in Israel
mentioned by every great power in the ancient Near East
and appears in the New Testament as Armageddon;
location of the millennial battle
between the forces of good and evil…
“The Apocalypse – Judgment Day.
The End of Times - Armageddon.
Students of the Bible know it as the place
where the cataclysmic battle
between the forces of good and the forces of evil
will unfold. Many believe that this battle
will take place in the very near future,
but few know that Armageddon is a real place-
one that has seen more fighting and bloodshed
than any other spot on earth.”

and Ancient History

” ‘Armageddon’ is a translation of the Hebrew
‘Har Megiddo’and means literally “the mount of Megiddo.”
During the past 4000 years, at least 34 bloody conflicts
have already been fought at the ancient site of Megiddo
and adjacent areas of the Jezreel Valley.”

He was goin’ wild! the next day his secret crush asked him out, and they have been going out ever since. Now, you heard the stories. I know which person i’d rather be, but thats up to you. I wouldn’t wanna end up like Barbra but thats only me. We all want what we cant have but now’s ur chance to go out with that special somebody ur waiting for. Take it or leave it. If you send this to- 1 person- you will lose all luck in ur love life…..forever!!!!! 10 people- your crush will say they like you as a friend……ONLY!!!!! 15 people- your crush will say they like you 20 people- your crush will ask you out! 25 people- your crush will kiss you!! 30 people – Your crush will have sex with you 35 people or more- All of the above!!
Read this here.
Erm, don’t know, don’t care. Don’t believe.
Hahahahahaha.
I believe that God loves everyone equally.
