and, as for piercings – i’ve had many in my ear and one in my tongue. only one or two are left in the ears and the tongue is still pierced, though i’ve been thinkng about not putting it back in the next time it falls out…

You would have to be an idiot to leave a nipple piercing (or any other piercing for that matter) in while it was infected long enough for the infection to spread and have to have your entire breast removed.
Definatly would choose my ear… I cover it up with my hair most of the time anyway.. and they have prosthetics for that.

I wouldn’t PEIRCE anything other than my ears. And frankly, in retrospect, I don’t really know *why* I had that done. Not that I mind, but it does seem rather pointless.
Now, as far as body parts that would be the best to have removed… at least your breasts are under your clothes… at least that is how I look at it (not in ANY way meant to minimize the pain of women who have lost a breast to cancer).

I’m a 15-year breast cancer survivor and I would choose the breast. You can have reconstruction–or not. But an ear and your nose is part of your five senses, which is a gift I’m not willing to sacrifice.
Oh wow….I definately go with ear. You still have another to hear with. If you lose a nose, you lose smell altogether, and it’d look weird.
And I <3 my breasts! Nothing can ever happen to them.
I’d say my breast, simply because you can recreate those with plastic surgery much easier than you can recreate a nose or an ear. Ick.

breast… i got used to the possibility over the summer when breast cancer was a real possibility, and there is always reconstructive surgery, or you can use a prosthesis (read: pad your bra) if you prefer.
facial reconstruction i don’t think has reached the point of giving you a rebuilt nose or ear…

Hm, well it depends on if it’s both testicles or just one. You can still…function with one.
Ear. You’ll still be able to hear (with at least one ear, probably still both). You’ll also be able to hide it with hair (especially my hair) and you’ll still be able to have children.

Honestly, testicles. It’s like a vasectomy (I am not sure of my spelling and do not feel it worth looking up.) only you will never have to fear suffering any pain from blunt trauma to the testicles. They replace them with implants not unlike breat implants, so it will leave no superficial damage.
My answer is none of the above. I’ll keep what I’ve got.

And a note to all of the people saying “piercings are gross” – it’s a lifestyle choice. I guarantee that you buy a specific brand of clothes or wear certain makeup or do something to your hair. It’s the same thing. Just grow up and accept it!

BTW I have two piercings in both ears and plan to get more. I also have 7 tattoos. My 13 year old daughter has 6 piercings in ear ear, and she plans to get more. She also plans to get tattoos as soon as she’s old enough. My two boys, ages 15 and 10 have had piercing in both of their ears, however, decided to not wear earrings anymore. However, tattoos later in life are not completely out of the picture. Out of all these piercings there have been no infections and no loss of ears. LOL Tattoos and piercings are a form of body modification. It is indeed a lifestyle. So please some of ya’ll should keep your judgements to yourself. If it’s not for you, then it’s not for you.

Well, that’s her own damn fault then. If she went to a professional piercer, and the equipment was sterile, it’s her fault for not cleaning the piercing right. A piercing is basically an open wound, and you have to take care of them, or crazy shit like that happens.
Not counting my ears (6 holes total in my ears), I have 5 body piercings and have never had an infection. So nyah.
Bah… take my breast off please. i could lose about 5 pounds anyways. besides, you can get fake ones that are just about realistic anyways.
My initial response is to say breast… As long as you use padding, or get an implant, it’s the least obvious of the choices. Having either my nose or ear removed would mean being a freak in society for the rest of my life.

Tongues can do some awful stuff too — there are some pretty big vessels in the tongue so an infection can easily spread, and it’s in an area where any infection from there will go straight to many important organs. Also, if pierced in the wrong place it could actually jar several nerves and cause incredibly painful muscle spasms across your face … we actually had a disgustingly detailed packet of all the terrors of tongue piercings in health class. Yeeurrghh.

Breast. I’ve watched enough of those shows to know that they can do amazing breast reconstruction. My guess is that it/they would look better than the originals. Funny thing is that I have a harder time thinking about the piercing of the nipple than I do breast reconstruction. YEOOOUCH!

The tongue piercings scare me the most with so many good possibilities towards an early demise.
