My oldest son is 13-years-old.  I introduced him to the social network world today.  He said his friend had a myspace.  He said he is 15 and he has a bunch of hot women as friends.  I told my son that those were probably not hot women but old ugly people.

So I explained to him youtube, myspace and xanga.  I let him set up an account on one of those sites.  (Please stop cursing on the internet and don’t post provocative photos since my son is online now).

What precautions should a parent take in order to keep their child safe online?

                                                       

I was reading an article by a guy who was concerned that Christians should not be spending time on Myspace.  His main point is that Myspace is a place of “moral impurity.”

He said “We are temples of the Holy Spirit.  We are set apart, a peculiar people, a holy people.”  He is concerned that Christians on Myspace are mixing with the World.

As I mentioned in my photoblog the other day, Germany is stopping Tom Cruise from filming one of his movies at German military sites.

German authorities are said to ban him from using the military sites because he is a Scientologist.  German Defense Ministry spokesman Harald Kammerbauer said the filmmakers ”will not be allowed to film at German military sites if Count Stauffenberg is played by Tom Cruise, who has publicly professed to being a member of the Scientology cult.”  Here is the link:  Link

I looked up the word “cult.”  Here is the definition:  “a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.”

Is Scientology a cult?

I was reading recently where a woman described what she wanted in the perfect man.  Here is the list:
