  • Abortion and Adoption

Recently my wife came home and told me a lady from work was pregnant.  The lady is pretty young and her boyfriend was encouraging her to get an abortion.

My wife told me she was tempted to just tell the young girl that she would take care of the baby if she had it.  I told her she can go ahead and tell her that and we would raise the child.

Would you adopt a child just to stop it from being aborted?

  • Phantom Period

I found this post on Shelly100‘s site:

“Ladies, please help. I have a period question.

Has anyone ever had a “phantom period”? I have all the symptoms, it feels like something is going on down there, but… no bleeding. Wtf? Is my uterus broken or something?”

Have you ever had a phantom period?

  • Universal Hotness

Yesterday I posted about Hugh Jackman being named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.

(Is that the natural fold in the towel?)

Now there was some disagreement which you would expect because no one can be judged by everyone as the sexiest person.  We tend to view people differently.

I think it is also harder for women to come to agreement over hotness.

Men, on the other hand, can agree on some things.

But when I was picking a photo of Hugh Jackman, I thought I should add one that I thought women would think was sexy.  So I picked one with him in a towel.  This apparently didn’t do it for some women.  I would think that a photo of a woman in a towel would get more support out of the male species.

I tend to think that men factor in a woman’s body when determining her hotness.

But this question is more for the women than it is the men.

To what degree does a man’s body factor in to your judgment of his hotness?

  • Sexiest Man Alive

Hugh Jackman was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive.  Here is the link:  Link

I read somewhere earlier that he was an unlikely candidate for Sexiest Man Alive.

    Is Hugh Jackman sexy?

  • Is Barack Obama a House Negro?

The number 2 leader in Al-Qaida referred to Barack Obama, Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice as “house negroes.”

Ayman al-Zawahri said that Obama is the “direct opposite of honorable black Americans” such as Malcolm X.   Here is the link:  Link  (Oddly if you do a google image search of “house negro” you will see photos of Obama, Powell and Rice on the front page).

Now a house negro was a slave that got to live and work in the house of the master and usually was given better food and clothing but he was still a slave.  The house negro would do the bidding of the white master.

I listen to an African American radio station while driving to work every day and one of the announcers mentioned that Obama had a news conference a week ago and he was surrounded by white men.

Do you think Obama is a house negro?

  • Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

We are coming to the time of the year where we have the Christmas wars.

As I mentioned in my photoblog, Focus on the family put out a shopper’s guide indicating which companies were Christmas-friendly and which were Christmas-negligent based on whether their material used the terms “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays.”  Here is the link:  Link

There are some people that believe that companies are trying to take the name “Christ” out of the Christmas holidays.  This happens in print form but also in the greeting that customers get at the store.

Would you rather a business communicate “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays?”

  • Weight Gain in a Marriage

I mentioned in my photoblog Manuel Uribe (once named the world’s fattest man) and how his friends built him a special ramp so his wife could have sex with him.

There were some people who commented using expressions like “eww” and “gross.”  But his wife walked into the marriage knowing he was overweight and he is actually losing weight.

So I wanted to focus our attention on weight gain after we get married.  Most of us do not keep the body types that we had when we first got married.

But what if the weight gain is subtle and takes place over a few years?

I am not talking about being super fat.  I am talking about weight gain that so many people see over time.  And I am also talking about some people who may not be attracted to someone who is overweight.  Certainly this is a factor in some marriages.

We said in our vows, “in sickness and in health. . .” but there was nothing about “in fatness or thin. . .”

Is there a reasonable expectation in a marriage to keep a certain body weight?
