Living in a Glass House
I read this article about a house that was built mainly of glass. It is worth $35 million. Here is the link: Link
(People always say I take my stories from yahoo news and yet this is really one of the rare times when I did in fact get the story from yahoo news).
Would you want to live in a glass house like the one above?

No way.
What happens if you get a nader?
Don’t throw stones.
No, I punch walls and throw things too much.
that’s a shitload of windex.
Yes I love the space and the light from all of the glass.
I would love to have one of those mid-century modern houses, low with a lot of glass. This one will fit the bill.
no.
@deflat - There’s film for that. I think originally developed for Blue-Ray discs.
My neighbors would certainly get an eyeful.
This is how housing should be build in high crime areas. Except that would move the ghetto somewhere else.
Absolutely. And walk around naked all day.
Wait! No, naked — except for a tie.
that doesn’t look very practical o_O. Pretty, yes. practical, noooooo!
No, glass houses are stupid…
Throw rocks at them, lol
It looks like the other side of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous waterfall house that is from the Bauhaus period in architecture. I think that they are really sturdy, so if the emotionally freaked out side of me could get of the horror movie part of the glass house, I would probably love it.
No.
Hell no, I like to walk around my house naked.
I prefer my ivory tower.
Sure, I would just have to buy a lot of curtains =/.
I wish clicked on the link before I commented the first time, I absolutely would live in this house, it’s stunning! The bedroom would need some sun blocking stuff for the 5:00 am sunrise, but outside of that.. I wish I won the lottery last night!
@deflat - lol good point.
It’s beautiful, but I definitely couldn’t live there.
Yes I would
It better be bulletproof glass, if not it would break because of anything.
No way. I’d be so paranoid, I’d never be able to scratch where it itches.
if i owned the land all around it so nobody could see in!
I totally read that today lol, and hellz yeah I would, too bad its 35 million dollars
Noo.
Not particularly. Might be OK for entertaining or something, but it doesn’t look practical for full-time living.
Nay!
Hell no.
so…what happened when you have sex? it’s a show then?
dont think so
I remain partial to my previous desire for a concrete bunker for housing.
I would be naked all the time. All. The time.
I like the idea and if I had a billion dollars I would build a 4 story house, the top floor of bulletproof glass.. So basically I just want a flat roof with some glass over it.. haha.
I wanna see the whole property. And who my neighbors would be. I love it though.. it’s beautiful
I would get to paranoid living in a place like that.
No way. I’m still hoping for a castle-orphanage. And one made of glass wouldn’t last very long.
A glas house………..makes me think of the saying.”PEOPLE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDN’T THROW STONES”.
RITA
I think I can pass and not live in a 35 million dollar glass house.
sure I’d love a big fancy house for free and there’s always the curtain option
No
Beautiful as it may seem, no way. Too much windows to clean! But I guess for 35 mil… I could hire someone to do the windows.
Article says it’s worth 35 Million. Doubtful. Toy for rich people. There are frosted glass panels for the bathrooms (no one wants to see each other on the shitter) and of course curtains for the bedroom walls. I can think of a lot better ways to spend 35M.
Unless you get changed behind a screen, the neighbours would get an eyeful. Plus, hardly any privacy.
Not really. I prefer some privacy. It’d be great for the summer I suppose but what about the winter. do you really want to be looking out into the lashing rain all the time?
nope
Only under like two conditions. One it has to be in a private place, where people dont just drive by daily. && Two, i’d need a maid to clean all those windows. =)
It would be ok during the day when you can see outside to see who is looking in.
No
no. especially not for 35 million. these people must be exhibitionists.
I think it looks gorgeous, and I would love to be able to look outside while I was eating breakfast in the morning or lounging in my living room. However, I would rather not have glass walls in my bedrooms/bathrooms.
That is beautiful
If it’s out in the country where you don’t have a lot of people, I’d say yes, but I’d still think that someone was looking and be paranoid. I’ll move in with Drak and wear a bow tie, or one of those fat 70′s ties.
Hell no.
And everyone who passes by can watch me pee. How nice! -_-;;
i like it
yet i would worry too much about people seeing my messy lived in house.
Nope!
Nope. I definitely walk around naked too much.
nah
You would have to make sure you don’t throw stones. aha aha
No I would not like to live in that house.
Sure. Only if there’s really “complete privacy” and is surrounded by a really tall wall.
I would be too worried about stalkers and I’d be terrified during lightning storms…actually I’d be terrified the entire time. I couldn’t do it.
“‘Here I have complete privacy,’ Mr. Herman says.” I’m lovin’ the irony of that statement.
invasion of privacy??
i need privacy! but glass would be lovely at certain areas like reading room etc
can’t walk around nude
It’s beautiful but I’d like a bit more privacy.
$35M and no pool?! GTFO
My answer is both yes and no… I would love to be able to see outside all of the time that only a glass house could provide. But if it werent a super secluded property where no one would know if I walked around naked? I wouldnt want it!
No. It’s pretty, but no.
I think it’s beautiful, in fact. However, I doubt I’d want to live in a glass house unless I had tons of curtains to cover up areas. There are certain times that I would not want some strange passerby to be able to look in on me, especially in a couple of months. I love the idea of it, but I just couldn’t see myself staying for more than a little bit there. It would just be too odd, for me…. People watching me while I sleep or dress or shower…. That just doesn’t sit well for me! LOL
sure – if someone else pays the heat & A/C bill! peace, Al
No privacy. And easily damaged.
I’m with everyone else, I think its awesome looking house. But I couldn’t live there, WAAAY to open
noooooooooo. i live around too many pervs lol
@InThisDiary90 - i’d welcome the t-storms!!!!
Read the Yahoo article too xDD
Well, Yahoo is kind of an in-your-face thing, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I subconsciously posted on something from Yahoo news =.=
I’ll definitely be reading more!
No where’s the privacy? And that would also be a lot of cleaning.
@Shadowshif - Lol and get struck by lightening that caused you to be able to find dead bodies? (You’d have to read an Aurora Teagarden book to know what I’m talking about)
Yes I love it.
And to everyone that says “It would be a lot of cleaning,” if you can afford a $35 mil house, I’m pretty sure you could afford to hire a maid to wash the windows
what a waste of money… i wouldn’t want to live in something like that.
If I looked great butt-naked… hell ya! lol
Na, I’d rather have a little privacy with that $35 million. The interior and decorations are pretty sweet though, but not something in which I’d want to live.
Only until I could sell or rent it so I could get a different house… that way, I could turn a profit… and make it a point to throw lots of stones during the time I lived there.
No way in Hades…although hilariously enough, my husband and I want a house that’s mainly underground….so glass would be very bad for that.
Man, I can’t even have glass dishes without breaking them…
This is NOT the house for you if you have enemies who just happen to be ridculously crazy!!!
1. What if you decide to get laid in the middle of the day? Do you really want the mailman or the gardener to be standing there watchin instead of delivering the mail?
2. I’m al for nature but if I wanna be one with it, I go outside and enjoy it. Not welcome it to my house.
3. Living in a house like this, how much is the gas bill???
no
Nope! My ideal dream home would be mostly made out of shipping containers or real stone! What a timely question; I’ve been doodling my dream house a lot lately…
@nubian_qween - I totally agree with you. That house looks like it has poor insulation.
hellz no. I’m not a fan of clothing if I’m sleeping or just sitting around before bed or after getting out of bed.
How the hell am I supposed to throw any stones at people then?
Obscenely opulent….any part of $35M would bless a lot of charities.
Nope: Just too risky – I tend to be a klutz.
it’s an ugly way to spend 35,000,000 bux
