  • What is Ok to Wear on a Plane?

I was reading an article on cnn.com and the topic was a man who showed up to an airport and was allowed to board a plane wearing the following outfit.

The reporter was upset because she thought a woman would never be allowed to board a plane with that outfit.  American Airlines has the rule that passengers “clothed in a manner that would cause discomfort or offense to other passengers” could be refused from boarding the plane.

In the article, the question was asked “Should airlines restrict what passengers can or can’t wear on flights?”  Here is the link:  Link

  • The Fetus Photos

During my time on xanga, I have probably written about the abortion issue 30-40 times.  I would imagine that since I am pro-life, I tend to slant the discussion in favor of those who are pro-life.  It is only natural that you would let some of your personal beliefs filter into the discussion.  But I make a special effort to slant the discussion against my own beliefs at times.

So the other day, I posted a photo from Serena’s blog.  She called a fetus a “clump of cells.”  I borrowed her words and posted them into my post.

What was interesting to me was a few of my pro-life friends were upset that I posted the photo.  A few called the photo “deceptive.”  The photo just showed cells and people were saying it was not an accurate view of a fetus.

The funny thing is I have posted a photo at least 20 times on xanga of an unborn baby but it is my understanding that the photo is not even a real baby.  I just like the photo.

Which photo is a better photo to show for an unborn baby?

    A.  This photo?

    B.  Or this photo?

  • Batman and Catwoman

Once upon a time, in the dark and crime-infested city of Gothen, existed two superheroes who stood alone against the forces of villainy and evil. Known only as Batman and Catwoman, they kept their identities secret as they struggled thanklessly against all that was wrong in the world.

    —————————————

It is night. Deep in the bowels of the crime-infested metropolis, the infamous blogger DearRicky has been kidnapped by Twitter users, held at the mercy of his captors. Intent on malice they commit torture, again and again. Cries fill the night air. And yet, it is not only DearRicky who suffers, but indeed, the entire world! For they are making him post on Twitter.

Across the clouds stretching over murky skies, a signal is lit, and our heroes are summoned. There is no time to lose! Batman and Catwoman must use their time machine to go back to the past to save DearRicky. However, our heroes face a daunting task. Their time machine is fuelled only by the breast milk of Chocolatecoveredkittens.

After gaining the crucial ingredient, Catwoman and Batman rush to the Batcave, and together they jump into the time machine and are transported back to the year 1999. It is shortly after Xanga started, and the world is fresh and new. The end of the war in Iraq is still 11 years away, and America possesses the youthful vigour of a nation in its ascendancy.

After quickly acclimatizing themselves to the strange new world, Catwoman mentions to Batman that John, evil henchman of the Xanga team, lost his confidence after he dropped his ice cream. Sensing an opportunity to change the future for the betterment of all mankind, Batman quickly runs to catch the ice cream from dropping. Humanity is saved!

Realising a further opportunity to combat evil, Batman and Catwoman use their keen insight and knowledge of the future to give John suggestions about Xanga’s destiny. Devising a cunning plan, they tell John about phone applications and mention a great idea about investing in a future site called Facebook. They also casually let slip that an instant message programme will be great addition to any social network website, and that people should be allowed to write applications for a their pages. John writes down all the ideas, and Batman and Catwoman hope he has been convinced.

Then, Batman and Catwoman warn Cakalusa of the coming Asian wars and tell him not to scare off Ricebunny, the fortunes of whom will soon outweigh those of all other Xangans combined.

Relentless in their quest, Batman and Catwoman soon find DearRicky. They quickly realise the key to saving him is to let him know there is hope. They can provide a cure that will cause him to jump out of his wheelchair, using modern technology, and a few drops of the precious breast milk recovered from Chocolatecoveredkittens.

Quickly seducing Chocolatecoveredkittens with promises of endless eprops, the dynamic duo get the breast milk, and inject it directly into DearRicky. Miraculously cured, DearRicky jumps up from his chair, and helps Catwoman and Batman beat up the evil twitter followers. The day is saved!

Tired, but glorious in victory, Batman and Catwoman walk off together into the rising morning sun. A thought percolates, and Catwoman asks if there are any other uses for Chocolatecoveredkittens’ breast milk. Batman replies, “I certainly hope so.”

  • Paralyzing a Convict

A Saudi judge is looking into the possibility of having a convict’s spine damaged so that he will be paralyzed.

The man was convicted of “attacking another man with a cleaver and paralyzing him.”

Under Islamic law, the man can receive the same punishment.  So the judge is checking with hospitals to see if they will injure the man’s spine.  Here is the link:  Link

If the man attacked and paralyzed another man with a cleaver, do you think he deserves to be paralyzed too?

  • Serena Vs. the Fetus

I was reading Serena’s post about her wishes versus the rights of a “clump of cells.”  Here is her post:  Link

So I asked Serena if we could vote on what is more important.

What is more important, Serena’s wishes?

Or the rights of a clump of cells?

  • Dark Alley

Imagine you are walking down a dark alley at night.  You are afraid and you are looking around to try to find somewhere safe to go.  Now imagine that a man is walking your way.  He looks threatening and large.  He mumbles something as he walks closer to you.

    Now tell the truth.

Was the man you imagined black?

  • The N-Word Hypocrisy

Dr. Laura Schlessinger has quit her radio show a week after she used the n-word 11 times.

A black woman called in to her show and complained about how her husband’s white friends used the n-word.

Laura said, “Black guys use it all the time. Turn on HBO and listen to a black comic, and all you hear is n****r, n****r, n****r. I don’t get it. If anybody without enough melanin says it, it’s a horrible thing. But when black people say it, it’s affectionate. It’s very confusing.”  Here is the link:  Link

  • Amount of Sleep

When I was younger, I was amazed that my dad only needed 4 hours of sleep a night.  I felt tired even if I had 8 hours of sleep.   As I am getting older, I need less and less sleep.

How many hours of sleep do you need to get?

  • Expectation of Molestation

Adrianne Curry, the former Next Top Model winner, has claimed she was molested by a “pervert at a Star Wars convention.  The man attempted to reach up her skirt.

In the article, the author mentioned “dressed in an extremely skimpy Princess Leia bikini outfit.”  Here is the link:  Link

I also noticed in a discussion thread of fark.com that some people believed that her skimpy outfit might have played a role.

  • Sluts and Whores

Recently I posted about a woman who claimed to have sex with 5000 men in nine years.

So many people said some negative things about the woman.  I saw people refer to her as a “slut” and a “whore.”  In fact, it was pretty much open game on the woman.  Here is the link:  Link
